The story takes place in the Joseon period. Never had I see a Kdrama about time traveling before so this hooked me. It's not wrong to assume that I'll be watching more in the future. It was very cute, funny and made me feel all the fun the characters were having. The whole story of Hangul creation was amazing. I loved it! Maybe because I am fascinated by history in general, I don't know.
The cast. Do I have to say anything about Doo-Joon, one of the first Korean stars I came across? I loved the idea of a drama with him as a main protagonist. I didn't expect him to be as good as he was. The actress was natural and did a very good job imo. It's suprising to say that she didn't annoy me one bit (like other female protagonists usually) The rest of the cast was well chosen. They all fit their roles perfectly.
I would definitely rewatch this drama. It's very short and against popular opinion, I found the two episodes perfect and in no need for more. But even if they decide to give us another episode, I'd be one of the first to watch it.

Watch this now!
I LOVED THIS DRAMA!! I loved that it was short, without all the unnecessary filler that most K-dramas have. The storyline was so complete and well fleshed out that I didn't feel that there was anything missing (other than more episodes to watch the two of them together!)So romantic. The leads were WONDERFUL together!! Their chemistry was amazing. I smiled through most of the show. The two main actors worked so well together, and both of their characters grew from knowing the other. It was sad for me to think about living his whole life never seeing her again, fathering tons of children for the monarchy, etc., but I guess there was no other way they could have resolved the time gap. I would have liked just a few more minutes of them together at the end, but there is literally nothing not to like about this drama. I think this is my new "palate cleansing" drama to watch after I've watched a drama that was unsatisfying. Watch it, you'll be glad you did!

Such a short & charming drama, surprisingly educational
Dan Bi (Kim Seul Gi), a senior high school student who is losing her motivation to study ends up time-travelling to the Joseon period at the day of her college test. She appears right in front of the palace royalties who were desperately calling for the rain. The King (Yoon Doo Joon) gets intrigued by her presence and knowledge, so they made a deal in order to make it possible for her to go back. It's an easy drama to get through. Perfect for days when you don't feel like watching anything or don't know what to watch next. I enjoyed the comedy, the romance and character arcs, it's very satisfying and made me so happy, lol ^-^ The time travelling aspect is simple, the couple get to know each other naturally, it happens exactly how I want it; strong chemistry, fun banter, with cute classic cliché scenes. No palace intrigue as there's no time for that, but it's surprisingly educational. There was a hint of history woven holistically and that's a high-quality storytelling not to miss. Like I mentioned, it's short, only two episodes, so practically a movie. In case you're curious, it's really worth checking out!

Well at first i thought it's a long drama cause i saw a lot of BTS pictures on IG of the PD of this Special Drama until i saw some ending picture and i'm little bit curious about then i give it a shot and now i'm here loving it and definitely watch it again and again.
I cannot compare this one to all other cause it's really really promising the actors/actress the plot. all i can say is bravo 10/10. for real i know i'm not the only one who really loves it. i laughed i cried and imagined that i was the one who's from the future and meeting someone to the past.
well before i watch this i all ready knew who are the main characters and i'm really expecting for really good drama but they gave me a perfect year ending drama for 2015
for those who's confused to watch this. i'll tell you it's WORTH watching for so give it some try! your 2 Hours will be turned into years cause you'll go back the past LOL.

The story was way~ less wishy-whashy that was I excpected it to be! It's so sweet, and nice. The story rolled out so prettily and naturally.
I had ENOURMOUS laughter all along, it was so~ enjoyable! With so many tender parts~~
I'd say its a *confortable* drama to watch!
Both leading characters have great acting skills and the two other main characters are really attaching.
SeulGi is as cute as ever and DooJoon played his role eagerly! I'd say!!!
I'm GLAD they made this into a Drama Special, as I never go in the Movie Section.... and would have missed the opportunity!

Acting wise, all the actors have great chemistry. The actress really did her part well. She could make you cry and make you laugh out loud. Storyline is not pretentious. The sweet scenes are just so right; and the OST, darn perfect!
Anyone interested in watching this series will definitely enjoy every scene :))

Eh actually i was so hooked from the first episode. It's so much fun!! The r/s between the king and the gosam is so funny. I really like kim seu gil, she really can pull it off. The story is refreshing, it is also well written, the ending is so unexpectedly beautiful and unpredictable! Definitely different from other k-dramas. I love this show.
I hope more k-dramas like this, do not have so many episodes and filler in between, just film necessary scenes that are related to the story without milking the successful drama too much and keep it short.
Do not hesitate to watch this drama, highly recommended.

Oddly enough, Splash Splash LOVE is the first time travel drama that I've watched and I absolutely adored it. The plot was so clever! Since I have no previous experience with time travel plots, I have nothing to compare it to so I don't know if this was and especially unique time travel drama, but I certainly enjoyed it. I loved the plot pacing and thought it was very well done for such a short drama. Plus everything tied together! The writers did an awesome job of including little details that ended up playing a part in the plot. The ending was really satisfying as well. I definitely wish that we could have more episodes, but at the same time I think that this length somehow worked.
The acting was awesome. The only cast member that I'm really familiar with is Kim Seul Gi and she did not disappoint. The rest of the cast was great as well. There wasn't a large cast of characters, but each person felt like they were fleshed out enough that we could get to know them to some extent within the 2 episodes.
I really liked the Splash Splash LOVE OST. It was refreshing compared to the other historical drama OSTs I've heard. I have nothing against the classic historical drama instrumental pieces, but this OST was just so new. It was quirky, but so was the drama and I really really liked it! The use of modern and upbeat songs added to the whole vibe of the show. Plus all of the songs are super catchy!
Overall I really liked Splash Splash LOVE. It's a drama I'd recommend to a friend I'm trying to get into dramas. I'd also watch it if you're in a drama slump. It's short and sweet but still lets you experience a range of emotions. It's a well rounded drama that took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did and I certainly wasn't expecting to get this attached to the characters. It was a pleasure to watch and I am so glad that I gave it a chance!

A Tiny Time Travel Gem with a Big Heart
Splash Splash Love is one of those drama specials that feels complete despite its short runtime. With only two episodes, it tells a charming and heartfelt story about a high school girl who accidentally travels back in time and becomes entangled in palace politics. Gifted with modern knowledge and the ability to predict rain in an era dependent on rituals, she quickly realizes how dangerous knowledge can be. To survive, she disguises herself as a man and tries to find a way back home, and that is where this sweet and thoughtful journey truly begins. What makes this mini drama shine is how naturally everything unfolds. The plot is simple but engaging, blending time travel, historical setting, fantasy, and romantic comedy without feeling rushed. The forbidden romance between a girl from the future and a lonely king from the past is surprisingly tender. Their relationship develops in a soft and believable way, balancing humor with emotional depth. The female lead is bright, witty, and refreshingly bold, while the king evolves from serious and burdened to quietly warm and playful around her. Their chemistry is subtle yet deeply touching.
Visually, the drama is stunning. The cinematography, palace scenery, and traditional settings create a dreamy atmosphere that pulls you straight into that era. There is a peaceful tone throughout, yet it never loses its emotional weight. It makes you laugh, then suddenly tugs at your heart. Beneath the romance lies a thoughtful message about knowledge, progress, and the courage it takes to challenge outdated beliefs. It quietly reminds us how frightening innovation once seemed, and how much society owes to those who dared to think differently.
Even though it is short, it never feels incomplete. In fact, its brevity works in its favor. It feels like a beautifully wrapped movie-length story that knows exactly what it wants to say. Of course, part of you wishes there were more episodes to explore the characters and their world further, but at the same time, it ends so satisfyingly that it leaves no real complaints.
Splash Splash Love is fluffy, warm, and magical in the gentlest way. It is the perfect in-between watch when you want something romantic, light, and meaningful without committing to a long series. A tiny drama with a surprisingly big heart.
