I randomly came over it and decided to watch it since it was just 2 episodes, now I wish it was longer. I usually find at least one thing I really dislike about dramas, especially romantic ones, but while watching this drama I couldn`t really find anything I hated about it. The actors did an amazing job and I loved watching the interactions between the two leads, it was so sweet and funny to watch and I either laughed or smiled almost the entire time watching. Also, I'm so glad that after watching a dozen K-dramas I finally find a female lead that seems like a normal person, she actually act s like a normal girl and that makes it so easy to like her. She`s not flawless and fragile or a strong kick-ass woman, she`s just a normal girl and I find it refreshing to see a female character that acts like a girl you could actually meet on the street.
It's a short, sweet and refreshing drama to watch and I would definitely rewatch it.

The story is kinda like a study guide in the style of "The Wizard of Oz". When testing pressures are too much for Dan Bi, she tries to run from them, and finds herself making a detour into the Joseon era. Her travel method is very cool, and immediately sets up the style of the show. From there the drama becomes an abbreviated sageuk, about a girl from the future and a royal from the past. This story has been done many times before, so It's up to the cast to make this version measure up, and the cast does a great job of that.
Kim Seul Gi has a spunky energy (similar to her role in "Oh my Ghostess"), which I love. I was impressed by her range of emotions, and I look forward to seeing more of her in the future. I'm not really familiar with Doo Joon (fangirls please don't kill me), but he was great too. Even in a drama this brief, they managed to deliver the chemistry romance fans love. Things may have seemed slightly rushed, but never too rushed to buy into it. I totally did.
I admit that much of the historical context went over my head. I was still able to still catch on to much of it, and it peaked my interest in learning the real history. I'll also admit to thinking that the historical versions of the characters were better looking than the modern ones.
Splash Splash LOVE is extremely cute, perhaps a little corny, and certainly predictable, but definitely entertaining.
Overall this drama seemed a little like and elaborate and well-devised plan to inspire young people to study. It is certainly aimed at a much younger audience, but I still enjoyed it. The writers were able to squeeze a great story into 2 episodes, so if you are looking for a drama to watch, but don't have the hours to commit (especially if that's because you know you should be studying), this is perfect.

Light quick, interesting and cute
8/10 is my rating. 2015 South Korean television drama. This drama spans two, 60 minute, episodes. Jang Dan-bi (Kim Seul-gi) struggles with the complex math she needs to pass the college test. Feeling immense pressure she is able to escape through a time portal to the Joseon era. She finds some clothing and is ultimately mistaken as an Eunuch. Having modern skills and knowledge, abilities that were passing in the modern area make her a top scholastic mind in the Josean area and she is soon teaching and advising the king, Yoon Doo-joon (Jang Yeong-sil). Through the course of their interaction they fall in love. Danbi becomes homesick and decides to return to her own time. The king vows to find her again through time. Back in the modern era time passes and Danbi's feels the loss of a great love. She reads about things the King did as a result of their time together. Feeling wistful she drops something on the street in the rain only to look up and see a very familiar face holding an umbrella over her.Spoiler 🚨 I really liked this one and there were many funny moments. It is a good, quick, light hearted drama to watch in between dramas with heavier topics. For me she decided to return to her time abruptly or at least it felt like that. it was really good just lacked a few elements for me that would have set it apart and made it great.

This bite sized drama should definitely be on your watch list! It is short and sweet though the story does not feel rushed at all. It could have been a movie in my opinion but it doesn't matter that much. The romance was very cute and sweet but my favourite moments were definitely the comedy scenes! xD I was laughing or at least chuckling at many of them – my most favourite one would definitely be the one with riding a horse to the tune of Gangnam Style. :D The ending was bittersweet but it suited the drama very well. More people should definitely know about this little drama. :3 Was this review helpful to you?

All You Want From a Full-Length Drama in Two Episodes!
A high school girl ends up running off as it rains to skip her SATS and vanishes into a puddle only to be transported into the Joseon past! Dan Bi, your average high schooler with doubts and dreams of the future, finds herself in the Joseon dynasty and having to use her modern-day wits and knowledge of math and science from high school to keep herself useful to the king. This story is sweet and manages to fulfill all the wants you tend to have from a drama, all packed into two episodes! There's adventure, romance, and even two assassination attempts! It's a great romp from start to finish, and it has a happily ever after, too! Couldn't have asked for more! Am delighted I managed to randomly see this! Was this review helpful to you?

Romantic historical fantasy done right!
Let me first preface this missive. I stumbled onto this show years ago. It was time before MDL and OCD review writing. I loved this show back then, but I lost it in the mist of time until a friend reminded me. (Thx @Nelly) This is not so much a review but a very belated ode to a diamond in the rough. As a 2 hours long mini-series, it is not going to win any awards. It is probably shot in a backlot similar to the Hengdian Studios in China. It is well made but with an eye on the budget. The cast is mostly young. The production certainly punching above its weight and delivered onto us something truly special.
In Act 1, Scene 1, we find the FL in a situation familiar to many youth drama watchers. The FL is 19 and KSAT is nigh. She is aimless and despondent. Her life after KSAT is less than promising. Her mother loves her but communication broke down long ago.
When she was magically transported back to the Joseon dynasty circa 1440's. It was fight or flight from the start. At first, she survived by her wits but ends up turning the table. She discovered new motivations, made friends and even found love from an unexpected quarter. It is transformative.
Alright, let's be honest. The show plays hard and fast with history. While the key players are famous historical figures, the details and their interactions are pure fiction. Ask no questions. ;)
In that sense, the show is a rollicking romp, Joseon style. When it is fast, it is furious. When it is slow, it is reflective. I cheer on our leads as they tackle big issues. I swoon and squeal at the romantic scenes, I berated the drama gods for being so unfair to our OTP. It is quite a ride.
So many tropes are packed into such a short run-time. Thankfully, they are dealt with expeditiously. There are many highs and lows for our young leads. When you consider the drama was released in 2015, they are already talented and shows much potentials. As a matter of fact, our leads will reunite in a new drama aimed at the second half of 2025. Yay!
Is it perfect? I'd be lying if I said yes but that’s not the point. It was chef kiss for me, and that’s all that matters. I enjoyed this show immensely. I wish I can say the same for most dramas I watched in 2025. Maybe if it was 16 eps, I’d be more critical. (Moi? Citical?!)
You can just call me shallow, and leave me alone to rewatch it again. Peace!

A real gem
A period piece with just two episodes - a gem of a drama to watch in between longer dramas; fluffy and fun. It would have made an excellent series as there was a lot of material available such as exploring the development of all the main characters, deepening the relationship between the M/F leads but what was created in the two episodes was excellently portrayed and I loved the ending.. thank goodness! Shame it was over all too soon though.Definitely put this on your to watch list - you won't regret it.

A story you will never forget for the rest of your life
Practically a movie, 2 hours and 20 minutes running time. I would say that by approaching this from an episodic method, they were able to tell the story in a simple and yet very touching way. If they turned this into a movie, it wouldn't have the same impact as the expectations and requirements for one is far different. This proves that great stories does not have to be long, it is the execution and delivery that matters. I also love how they embedded the importance of studying mathematics and science--something that students need to understand--by throwing a modern student into the past where their survival lies on it, just as how important these are today.
I can't believe I only discovered this today. I will never forget this story for the rest of my life.

The Story
I always love things with something supernatural about it. And a trip to the past )or future) always makes me excited and worried on how our writers will manage to make the main couple together. The story is straightforward as described in the synpsis.
The Cast
I don't usually watch mini dramas but I can't miss a Kim Seul-gi show. I've watched her since Flower Boys Next Door and truly knows how hilarious she can be so I am definitely following her. It is kind of challenging to think that she is THE main lead for this drama since she is just a supporting character in her previous dramas (though she is a lead in Oh My Ghostess, she didn't actually get the guy). I keep on picturing all her funny antics but really, she just acts amazingly. She can be very funny and sympathetic in her characters. I don't know much about Yoon Doo-joon but he has great chemistry with Kim Seul-gi (reunion, please!)
The Music
Not really a critic of music (I don't even understand the Korean songs) but I appreciate that I didn't feel bored while watching this.
Rewatch Value
It won't hurt much to rewatch a 2-episode drama, right?
