Ji Bai receives a text from Ye Zixi asking him to come to where she is staying. With him being worried about her odd behaviour he rushes over to the location. Unfortunately when he arrives Zixi is already dead. He request Xu Xu to come to the crime scene to help with the investigation along with his team. The investigation clues help conclude Xu Xu's theory that Zixi and Shiyong were having an affair. Meanwhile, Yao Meng and Zhao Han are investigating the human trafficking and questioning the recently caught perpetrators. The team now questions all the Ye family members to try and get to the bottom of who killed her because evidence leads to believe Zixi knew the killer. Ji Bai tries to hold his emotions back throughout the investigation but Xu Xu can see right through it. The next day, they get a warrant to bring Shiyong in and search his cars and home.
