The director delivers a classic job in knitting a fantasy romance story with a murderer in sleeve. In this fantasy tale, it is essential to keep the spark alive till the last . The narrator does a fantastic job in keeping audience glued and not skipping any part.
The unbeatable chemistry and the hooking plot makes it a rewatchable story.

Really good!
I watched this three years ago and I barely remember anything, but I remember enjoying it so much, and definitely remember laughing so much my stomach started hurting. I would 100% recommend this, the main leads had good chemistry and were great actors, as expected from Lee Minho and Jihyun. I should definitely rewatch this when I finish the 1009393 K-dramas that are waiting to be finished.PS: I don't pay attention to OSTs and music in K-dramas unless I REALLY like it so my rating isn't completely valid.

This is so good
First off, they did a great job casting the main actress. I loved her. She’s phenomenal, truly. Her acting was pretty good here and I found myself laughing hard at how her character handled certain situations. What I love is that her acting doesn’t feel over the top & exaggerated to elicit laughs. It felt pretty natural. I found the side characters to be pretty interesting too. They felt more realistic compared to other dramas I’ve watched for some reason. Their characters felt grounded and had substance. I loved the crush the younger guy had on the main actress. it was super entertaining to watch. The main leads character definitely annoyed me at times though which is no shade to the actor himself. Classic; great for exposing new ppl to kdramas
This is one of those cheesy old time dramas that are just CLASSIC! There is so much beautiful scenery, there is great humor, and there is a fun plotI think this is an epic drama witih great messages and a great starter kit for newcomers to kdramas
Some of the scenes are classic - like merman getting the FL to enter the house again LMAO
it has great environmental messages
and transformation messages

I can't believe I did not rate this drama after watching it when it first released!
After visiting South Korea, they shoot some of the scenes from this Drama.It feels so unreal I was walking through the same shopping mall they shot this drama.
I enjoyed everything about this drama, from the first episode to the last.
Great execution to Lee Min Ho, he is my favorite Korean actor and inspired me for
so many yrs. He has this amazing on screen presence where he makes you feel he
is next to you.

What a wonderful surprise!???
I finished TLOTS 15 min. beforestart of the new year 2026
I enjoyed watching this beautiful drama. I didn't have any high expectations from it yet when I saw that it had 20 episodes I thought this would be another one of those LITW but it totally surprise me. Positive
The story is based on the inncoent love of a man and a mermaid . It was interesting from the start.
The characters were lovely, most especially Jun Ji-hyun, she have justified her role beautifully.
She was so pretty, vulnerable, tough and endearing all at the same time.
The chemistry between the two characters was insanely good and I thought the plot was pretty well rounded up.
I absolutely loved all the underwater scenes! They were so well acted.
The were many really funny, cute and sweet moments that I like. Blance of tension, drama, comedy and romance was perfect.
I really enjoyed watching this kdrama, I hope you enjoy it too because it's worth it.

Way Better Than Expected
I pulled some names of some k-dramas I had been wanting to watch and gave them to my coworker to pick at random one day because I was struggling to choose a new drama. This was on the list ONLY because it had Lee Min Ho, as I really wasn't sure how I felt about a mermaid drama, as fantasy isn't really my jam.Anyways, I'm so glad I watched this drama. This was my first drama with Jun Ji Hyun and I absolutely LOVED her in this. Her character was just great and she did such a good job selling it. I recently wrote a review for Personal Taste (another Lee Min Ho drama) and complained about the female lead's "quirky" sort of "I'm not like other girls" thing and how mostly it was just her being kind of gross and unkempt for no reason.
Shim Cheong (Jun Ji Hyun) also has this sort of thing about her, but it makes sense more for the character as she's not from our world, and as she spends more time on land, she does learn to be less... unsophisticated maybe is the word? And yet she still stays true to herself in some aspects which actually is cute and endearing, unlike the character in Personal Taste.
I honestly loved the whole cast but especially Na Young Hee (who plays lead male's mom) because I adored her relationship with Shim Cheong. I also really loved Moon So Ri (who plays this gossipy but super fun character) and ESPECIALLY Shin Won Ho who plays Tae Oh because he was adorable and hilarious despite doing very little speaking.

Smooth fantasy romcom serial
I always love fantasy romance comedies, like we were soo happy and enjoyed the comedy scenes but keep in mind that those two main leads are different 'creatures' that maybe aren't destined with. Very big applause and appreciation for Jun Jihyun for this.The scenes between Kim Dam Ryung (which reborn as Heo Joonjae) and Sehwa (which reborn as Shim Chung) in the beginning of episodes always make me curious about what happened. And slowly the actual stories are revealed and it becomes more interesting. Well, this drama has been my comfort ig? Yes, it is

strong immortal feelings , true love
Amazing series! ☺️❤️ I'll write right away that the review will be long, but read to the end, I think u'll like it and u'll even agree with something) at the end, my little note about the series and the real world).It gives off a bit of a vibe like the OST "My Demon", the same tragic love, seemingly with an impossible happy ending -, ending happily)
I like series where they mix historical events with reality mixed with magic)! It's so cute😌! Gives some kind of ray of light in this everyday life..
A very beautiful love story of the main characters) I liked the plot, although in general it was a little cruel and illogical in relation to Sim Cheung
In the scenes where Heo Joon, for example, treated Sim Cheong badly, took off her bracelet and left her in a shopping center, kicked her out of the house, laughed at her and at the same time worried about where she could go or disappear..well, it was necessary to immediately treat her normally, not kick her out and teach her how and what to do, life in general, so that she would not get into troubles because of him..and so some kind of sadism glorified by the director lol 😂
There were many hilarious moments with her, of course, at the beginning, when she did not know how to behave on earth and got into comical situations, and already returning to earth for the 2nd time she behaved "like an experienced woman"😂
Also this vile friend of Heo Joona, Jo Nama Doo, who wanted to make money on the mermaid after finding out who Sim Cheung really was, but she didn't lose her head and erased his memory! 🤣😂 Bravo! I thought the director would screw up this situation and make it tragic again lol but everything turned out really cool lmao in general, there was a clear moment when Nam Doo caught her off guard, I thought that Heo Joon would be the first to see her as a mermaid..
Heo Joon is great! ☺️ the romantic love line was built very beautifully when he realized that Sim Cheung is a mermaid and protected her later (his actions were not always adequate*) such touching beautiful care) I enjoyed watching, I really enjoyed the script!😍😌 I can't call it cloyingly sweet (although of course it turned out sweet and romantic) but extraordinary care and experiences were shown ..! The actors conveyed these feelings perfectly and looked good together☺️😌 very harmoniously selected for this role! Jun Ji Hyun & Lee Min Ho did a 100% great job! It was really nice to see them together!))
And Teo, such a modest guy, quietly took pictures of Sim Cheung hahaha
As for Cha Shi Ah and Teo, asians like this kind of plot line, in which the rejected heroine in love suddenly switches to his nondescript friend! It's a bit illogical since in life this is rare, for some reason women are shown in this role as not being able to choose but falling in love with the first person they meet out of desperation just to not be alone... in real life, most adequate people still prefer to choose guys based on their taste and not on the principle of "the dream of my heart refused me, well, ok, I'll be with his friend"😆, this is somehow very disgusting 🤷🏾♀️
I was very worried that in the end the Heo Joon & mermaid couple would not be harmed by his friend Nam Doo, since it was not entirely clear who ultimately killed them in their past life and who betrayed them, I was very afraid that this person would turn out to be Nam Doo in the end when he decided to play along with Heo Chi Hyun and kill Heo Joon .. but he did not do so, but revealed the plan of Heo Joon's non-native brother
Although Heo Chi eventually shot and hit the mermaid.I did not expect that she would protect Heo Joon with herself, and in general this scene could have been avoided if Heo Joon had dodged in time and Sim Cheung had not arrived initially, it is not clear why Heo Joon did not devote her to his plans in advance in order to avoid problems, but this was conceived in the script ..
It was frankly disgusting to watch how Heo Chi Hyun, non-native son, does not even try to save his father He Il Cheung, who provided him with a wonderful life, watching how his mother slowly kills He Il Cheung every day.. but if he really wanted to do the right thing or at least pay tribute to his care and love, he could have told Heo Joon the whole truth and saved his father! These are really such vile people and how they are ready to pass on for the sake of money.. Heo Chi Hyun would have left something from the inheritance anyway.. his actions surprised me of course.The only situations that were not revealed were how Heo Joon received the inheritance and what happened to Ma Dae Yeon..
The result: is a beautiful, very touching love story between a man and a mermaid with such tender, heartbreaking care😌 (Lee Min Ho just burned with tender love in Jun Ji Hyun’s gaze!) that you involuntarily become imbued with their feelings! ☺️ There is no naked passion here that makes u bored in TV series where the line is something like "met... fell in love... well, we can f*ck now" 🤦🏾♂️, but strong feelings of love of a person who is ready to wait as long as it takes just to be with his beloved and who really suffers from separation but is ready to give everything just so that his beloved is comfortable... A wonderful film, after it there are no cloying sediments from untruth and all this pink snot, it seems so real... So tender... So deep ❤️
And now about real life 😂 if in reality all guys treated women with the same care and love, experiences as Heo Joon to Sim Cheung, then couples would be the happiest on earth lol but of course this does not happen often ..( or in most cases lol ) ... very rarely, remember ur friends... where a person cares about another not because he needs something from him in the future, not because of money or one night, but because he really loves and he enjoys caring and making another happy) ..yes this series is very far from reality and at the same time real, well probably because the actors perfectly conveyed this atmosphere of true love😂 I can say this series should be recommended to men, as a guide to action lol then there will be more happiness in life and koreans will stop being offended by idols😂

Even though she's kind of annoying I know some people would probably not mind, so I say try it out! Except for her fuckery, the rest of the drama is amazing! I don't really like Lee Min Ho but this was his best drama in my opinion, and the plot, music, editing, action, romance was great. If the lead female (sorry I forgot her name) acted more dignified then I would give this drama a solid 9.5/10.

The Legend of the Blue Sea, a romantic and fantastical journey
The Legend of the Blue Sea is an excellent drama! Overall, this drama is excellent! It's a pleasure that the drama took the risk of filming elsewhere than South Korea, namely on the island of Palau, in the Pacific, and in Spain. It's very successful! The plot is very well developed, with a mix of romance, fantasy, comedy, and cliffhangers. As for the characters, the duo of Joon Jae/Kim Dam Ryeong and Cheong, played by Lee Min Ho and Gianna Jun/Jun Ji Hyun, is one of the drama's biggest strengths. Actress Gianna Jun is MAGNIFICENT and is one of my favorites, both as an actress and in the drama! As for Lee Min Ho, he confirms that he's still an excellent actor! Besides, the six-year age gap between the two actors/actresses didn't bother me either. Otherwise, I also became attached to the other characters, namely Si Ah (Shin Hye Sun), Tae Oh (Shin Won Ho) and some guests who appear in only one episode, notably the flight attendant Mun Ji (Kristal) and the young mermaid (Kim Seul Gi). In terms of the OST, it perfectly matches the atmosphere of the drama. Everything you need to definitely love it. In short, it's pure happiness!Was this review helpful to you?
