To Kim Je Ha, the best bodyguard there is.
as I watch this series from the first episode to the last years ago, I was impressed. the story, the plot, the characters and the actors and actresses portraying them are simply amazing. and need I mention Ji Chang Wook's action scenes worth an applause and are always swoon worthy? and there's Yoona who portrayed Anna's character brilliantly, she's so amazing. and the actress(I'm sorry, I forgot her real name) who plays the stepmother is good, too.One thing that I'd just like to say is this---I tried so hard to see the so-called chemistry between Je Ha and Yoo Jin. like, I really focused on watching even the tiniest details of the series but damn---those Je Ha and Yoo Jin shippers swooning on them is just.... nevermind. I want to avoid a fandom delulu war here so I'd rather keep it to myself. what the hell.
those toxic shippers swooning over that rain scene---the heck... It's not even a rain scene at all but sprinklers that gone off after it detected smoke from a burning thing that Je Ha did, to get Yoo Jin out of that room. there was nothing romantic in it for goddamn sake.
I don't mind their weird taste at all---but what pissed me off is the way they'd bring Anna down and call her names, defaming her character. I don't know if I watched the same series with these shippers what the hell---but Anna behaving and acting that way is a normal response and defense mechanism. She was forced to stay abroad at a young age, witnessed her mother's death and was abandoned by her ambitious and power-hungry politician father. She was locked up in a monastery, hidden from the world except to the few who knew about her existence. She became a recluse, diagnosed with sociophobia and a severe depressive disorder. anyone who has been in her place will totally understand that she didn't that life. It wasn't her fault. Mental Health issues like that of Anna needs sympathy and compassion, not snide remarks.
Yoo Jin on the other hand is perfect to the witch that she is---her cunning nature, arrogance, superiority complex and wickedness sealed everything. She has always wanted Je Ha dead right from the start and only gets interested in him after that car crash accident and the sprinkler scene. to be honest, what Yoo Jin felt for Je Ha which she obviously shows despite not saying anything is obsession, not love. she obviously like Je Ha, that even one of the oldest member of the so-called cloud nine noticed it immediately.
Yoo Jin was fascinated and obsessed with Je Ha---even calling him a dangerous wolf she can never tame and not some ordinary hunting dog who follows her every command and is always at her beck and call. He was the alpha male so capable and strong not to mention handsome---that dared to defy her orders, even talking to her so casually like they're not an employer and employee. to Yoo Jin, Je Ha is more of a challenge than anything. She may have genuinely like him, but her intentions were never pure at all. She wants him all to herself that even giving an order to shoot and kill her stepdaughter is a like a walk in the park for Choi Yoo Jin. and that night that Anna's mother died, she could've saved her by calling 911 but she did not. She left, leaving these words, "love is not meant to be shared." and at that time, she meant Anna's father. If that's not selfish and wicked enough, then I don't know what that is.
and and the way Je Ha looks at Yoo Jin? nah. K2 stares at Madam Choi with eyes full of coldness, animosity and indifference--- unlike the smile and warmth that Je Ha shows to Anna. K2's eyes lights up every time he sees her. his smile and him cheering for Anna in that ramen and rooftop scene is so cute and adorable, with JCW and Yoona's loveable and sweet on-screen chemistry. Je Ha and Anna are each other's safe space, aside from the fact that it was Je Ha who really fell in love first and fell even harder.
It was Anna's innocence and pure heart that made Je Ha love her the most---not because she reminds him of his past love. It even reminds me of the reason why Katniss chose Peeta over Gale. It's because of the great reason that just like Katniss, K2 already has enough fire inside him. that he doesn't want a fuel that will ignite that fire even more which will inevitably happen had he ended up with Yoo Jin and not Anna. and Yoo Jin didn't pulled the trigger, it was Je Ha himself who did it. He just needs the right time and the right person to do so.
The K2 will teach its viewers the lesson we need to know about the fact that it's not just money, power and influence that destroys the world and one's self---but greed. Just like money is not the root of all evil, but the lust and greed for it.

disappointing end
the story is very promising. everything goes well until the last 5 episodes. it becomes more and more violent and hectic. and sadly the last episode isn't as soothing as it should be (because we are used to). if you are sensitive to violence I would not recommend this.I really loved the relationship between the main good character and the main bad one. they managed it in an unique way. this make this drama even more frustrating because it really had it all at first.
I really don't know which one is the main female lead because the supposed one was so bland that the second female lead took all the light.
so is it a good drama to watch? yes, but don't expect too much.

K2's really amazing - totally worth your time
LIKEWhen Je Ha understood his assignment and went ahead without seeking Yoo Jin's approval - that moment he was so cool. Everyone would have fall in love with him
When Yoo Jin played everyone else out - good twist
Se Joon's decision in the end - that was pretty touching
DISLIKE
An Na's character like nothing much here..
MUSIC - personal fav
As Time Stops - Park Kwang Sun
REWATCH VALUE
Yes definitely

Ji Chang Wook is the only good point
As said in my headline, the only positive thing about "the K2" is the main actor Chi Jang Wook who almost carried the show. Unfortunately, him being good alone is not enough.I dropped at the episode 6, I even forced myself to continue until the episode 6 because I was hopping it would be better but I was wrong.
Let me start with my biggest disappointment : the romance. The romance in the drama was in my opinion the biggest negative point, it was too cringy, embarassing, boring and childish to a point where I just had to stop because it was ridiculous, honestly.
Secondly, the female lead Im Joon Ah was not good enough, I am sorry, in my point of view, her acting skill is lacking, it is not bad but when you play alongside Ji Chang Wook, you should have a decent level because if it is not the case, your poor skill will be seen from far away, sorry.
Thirdly, the story was lowkey lacking as well, I felt there were too many plot and it was kind of like a mess, it almost was good but it was not (the political stuff had potential to be entertaining but it quickly became boring and also because of the romance who ruined it as I previoulsy stated).
Overall, I feel sorry for Ji Chang Wook, man I am sorry for you. You deserved better.

I'll keep this review short.Have you every had an empty feeling after watching a great show? After watching The K2, I felt a deep void. This show is amazing and I loved watching it the first time especially because everything was fresh to me. The second time I watched it I couldn't have the same feeling ever again because I already knew what was going to, which is why I felt that empty feeling when I finished that last episode. I actually watched this show a few months ago and I still really love it. The one this I didn't like was the An na character. She was kinda annoying in the show and I didn't really like her ending up with K2. I loved Choi Yoo Jin so much and I felt kinda disappointed when she didn't end up with the ML. I felt such good chemistry with Yoo Jin and K2 way more than K2 and Anna. Anyway, I was still satisfied by the ending and anyone who hasn't watched it should watch it.

Was it worth it: Yes
What I liked the most: The actors did an excellent job.
What I disliked the most: Lee Jung Jin’s character. Ugh.
Moment Meter: 2/10 – Pretty tame, particularly for an action drama.
Other thoughts: As I sit here thinking about it, I’m just now realizing what an interesting story line this drama had. Usually I hate politics in dramas, but this one was interesting from beginning to end. There were a lot of characters that I loved to hate and only a few that I really sided with. The pacing was great, and there was just the right amount of action in it. I’m always grateful for the omission of constant shaky cam. It wasn’t non-stop action the entire time and it wasn’t endlessly long with nothing happening either. I’m pretty sure Ji Chang Wook had a wound on his body at any given time throughout the entire thing. The acting was solid, and I really like the choreography for the first fight, but every fight after that seemed a bit weak (especially because I can’t help but compare to Healer). The ending was good and satisfying.
Conclusion: I would classify this as a melodrama with a hint of action. It wasn’t a favorite, but it was very solid.

THE STORY
The story was good. It sort of gave me a Snow White vibe, especially the Mirror part. For me, I think the pacing was great and the sweet moments gave me the right amount of feels. The action part was pretty good too.
THE ACTING/CAST
The acting was great. After reading The Lunar Chronicles, (any readers out there? anyone? no?) anyways, Song Yoon Ah's character reminded me of Levana or I guess in Snow White, the evil stepmother. But I sort of compare her more to Levana. In the Lunar Chronicles, she was evil but there was also a side of her that was misunderstood by many. Ji Chang Wook is always awesome. I've loved him since I watched him in Healer. Yoona was good too.
THE MUSIC
That opening scene music always reminded me of Star Wars for some reason. (Sorry, not sorry, I am proud to admit I'm a nerd).
REWATCH VALUE
I wouldn't mind re-watching this again. Not so soon though, but maybe someday later.
OVERALL
Like I said. I couldn't think of anything I didn't like from the drama. Even the side characters were endearing. And the ending was good for me. Better than the ending of the one drama of Yoona's that I watched.

I can't say weather it is Ji Chang Wook (one of my most favorite actors, whom i've missed to see in dramas) or Song Yoon Ah (the step-mother) ,who mad this drama so impressive for me... The story was good enough, but the acting was the best and couldn't be any better...
I highly recommend everyone to watch this drama...
