Yuan Chun realizes that Yan Xun is out for revenge, so he implores him to stop rebelling. After telling A Chu to wait for him outside of the city walls, Yan Xun heads to the military academy to massacre the students. Wen Yue arrives to stop him, and Yan Xun allows him this win since his investigation shows that Wen Yue tried to protect him and his family 3 years ago. However, he vowed when they next met, they would be as enemies. A Chu goes back to save the Xiu Li army when she realizes that Yan Xun had intentionally left them behind. (Source: frankly at kisskh)
