Love hate relationship towards real love.
I didn’t think I would love this drama as much as I do now. at first I was like no I may not like watching it causes an older drama. but I decided to give it a try and honestly loved it. I loved every moment of it. I did get some second hand embarrassment sometimes but it was still worth watching. they started out as strangers. then living together and then somehow just talking as friends till their love grew more and more. I would recommend it to someone to watch. it’s quite good and I sure people will enjoy it.Was this review helpful to you?
Never watched a more boring drama than this one
Romance lovers keep away from this drama. An egoistic and arrogant ML and a spineless FL who is a stalker as well, keep repeating their acting and the characters never seem to mature or evolve. The FL despite being humiliated and mocked every now and then, doesn't seem to get offended. She rather supports the attitude of the ML.
I was hoping there would be some romance atleast after the first few episodes but that elusive romance was nowhere to be seen.
Now I am wondering why did I watch this at all. I wished to give this drama 0 but unfortunately the least rating one can give here is 1.

Only part of the series is covered
This doesn't cover nearly half of the series, in fact, it's very little of it. The Taiwanese and Japanese versions cover the entire story, and unless I'm missing something and they came out with more episodes, this was very short, and didn't wrap up the way it needed to. I've seen every adaptation of this series (Itazura Na Kiss/ISWAK/TKA, And this version), and this one is by far the worst.I would highly suggest the Taiwanese Version (It Started With a Kiss and They Kiss Again) if you want the full story, or Itazura Na Kiss, which is the Japanese version, and also covers the entire story.

15 years later and we can see all the problem areas
First off, this is a child of its time and that needs to be acknowledged. I'm watching the drama in 2025 and things have changed a little since 2010.The stalking, gaslighting, manipulation, doing things without consent, and interference shown is troublesome, especially as it is done "for their own good" or "justifiable in the big picture" and whatnot. Of this was not a situation where ultimately both/all participants are happy with this arrangement - and the writer knows that they are - this could be a recipe for a VERY dark and very different experience.
Like I said at the beginning, a child of its time. And putting on rose tinted glasses, and getting in the mindset of watching a cute "love story" it is not bad. But it's difficult to say that it is really good. I don't regret having watched it to the end, but it's unlikely to ever make it on my re-watch lis.

First K-drama I've ever watched
As I said, this is the first 😂 and never forgotten. Remember I found this movie by chance while I using my uncle's laptop to find something to watch unintentionally ( I was in secondary school at that time, now I'm the senior in university ~ damn it's been a long time), found this and watched it through episodes. haha the movie is funny to watch in some first episodes because of the storyline and ofc the excellent acting of the main actress . I felt for KHJ haha he was too handsome, just like come out of manga .Was this review helpful to you?

painful but hopeful watch
i never cursed at my tv till i started watching. kept wanting to bash my head into the wall. it took him too long to say ONE nice thing. i kept thinking BASH BASH BASH between every very slim to none romantic scenes. but it did make me curious; i didnt completely hate it. i just wish it was different be their relationship shouldnt have been that toxic.there were moments where the pain of juri just terrorized me. BUT i did like how hani’s friends always stood up for her. i wouldnt rewatch this show though, unless i wanted to relive modern torture.
the casting was good, i really cant complain. i think thats what saved the show. the music was really good. im picky with ratings esp if i get more angry at the show but this one made me rethink every man ive spoken to. i think seungjos character should’ve been reevaluated or altered to not make me want to punch my screen.

While it may be a little "cringe" to watch now because of how the characters traits are depicted, the drama still beautifully portrays the journey of love, growth, and self-discovery as the two characters slowly develop feelings for each other.

Playful Kiss, disappointment
Playful Kiss remains somewhat mixed for me. Indeed, this drama revolves around two main characters, namely Sung Jo and Ha Ni. Unfortunately, both characters were a disappointment in my opinion. On one hand, there's Sung Jo, the handsome and intelligent one, but also cold and arrogant. On the other hand, there's Ha Ni, the girl who tries to win Sung Jo's heart but comes off as clumsy and overly clingy. It frustrates me how they continually act stubbornly and fail to grow throughout the episodes.Overall, I just didn't enjoy the story and their personalities, despite the strong performances by the actors Kim Hyun Joon and Jung So Min, although occasionally they seemed a bit exaggerated. Despite being new to Korean dramas, besides the two actors mentioned above, I did notice some talented actors and actresses like Lee Tae Sung, whose funny scenes stood out, Lee Si Young, and Abigail Alderete. The OST appropriately matches the romantic ambiance of the drama.

We all have our guilty pleasures. Technically speaking I am not supposed to like this drama, I mean, how could I?
Nothing meaningful ever happens, but I was completely won over by Jung So Min’s acting.
She carries the drama on her shoulders from start to finish. I understand that many might question her choices of just blindly following Hyun Joong around but I think she’s just blinded by her love for him. I also like the impact she has on him and that he makes his decisions based on what she says without even realizing (he does later on).
I take this bubbly, cotton candy drama for what it is, simple, fluffy and I really enjoyed myself watching it.
