Oshin and Kayo are true love

I said what I said. Oshin’s true love is always Kayo. She even said she would do everything for Kayo when they were 8. True love doesn’t have to be about romance, does it?

Anyway, sadly, I think that mindset of serving husbands in Asian women still exists today. A ‘good woman’ is taught since childhood that she should obey and follow her father until she gets married, then after marriage, she should obey and follow her husband until he dies, and when one’s husband dies, one must continue to follow and obey her own son. That’s what I grew up hearing a lot from the elderly and even from school.
