Both of them are probably the best action-thriller-zombie Korean projects, and definitely among the best internationally! Both stories are more or less predictable and not too frightening or gory, but they were intense and suspenseful.
The acting and characters were great, the music well-fitted, the directing and cinematography superb.

Both dramas are about a normal world suddenly being swept with a virus that turns humans into monsters. Packed with suspense and horror, if you liked one you'd like the other.

Both are set in a fantasy world where the zombie apocalypse is eminent. Both dramas starts by showing how the outbreak supposedly started and how the people around them adapt to the situation. The origin of the pathogen is different but it still has the same effect. Not your typical zombie shows.

Kingdom is slightly different to Peninsula in that it is a historical drama with a zombie apocalypse pretense. For those who love zombie shows and movies, it will be quite different to see the circumstances with a zombie show taking place before modern times. Seeing how the characters deal with a zombie apocalypse before the invention of guns and other modern safeties is a wonder in of itself.

Both are historical political stories set in the palace with an ill king, an evil queen, a crown prince no one wants, and corrupt ministers.

Main differences are of course the POV being that of a doctor in TNO but that of the crown prince in Kingdom and of course Kingdom being focused around a zombie apocalypse

While different in tone (one is more comedic, the other serious), both are about a group of people dealing with a zombie apocalypse.

key similarities is in their royal settings, where political intrigue and power struggles drive the plot. Both feature noble protagonists navigating treacherous palace environments, facing betrayal, and striving to uphold justice and solve cases.

They both have people struggling to survive from being eaten alive by zombies. The show takes place during Korea’s medieval Joseon period, and the outbreak is reaching the capital of Hanyang (present-day Seoul).

You can't watch one without the other, and you've got to watch the first season to make sense of the sequel.

And obviously if you enjoyed the first season, you would expect a closure in the second season.

Expect more of the same, with blood and guts galore.

Retaining the cast not only maintains the production standards but also preserves the continuity of the plot.
