I loved this drama, the chemistry was on point from the ost, effects, acting, everything. However, I had to get at least past 3/4 quarters of the drama to get to the romance. I felt as if it was being dragged on. 25-35 episodes would be ideal for this drama. The storyline, however, was extremely detailed. In real life, people grow. Its seen the main cast grows and doesn't just go along the storyline. From the start, Yang Zhenzhen was new in the music industry, now she is seen as one of the best agents in the company. Zheng Boxu, a headstrong artist, is now a better person.
The story highlights the relationship struggles aswell. All relationships aren't always rainbows and sunshine. There is conflict, but, communication was key for the characters to resolve the issue.
Overall, I really liked this drama, it incorporates real-life struggles, ups and downs and certainly a beautiful love story.

Hidden Gem!!
So i'm about 3 years late to this drama BUT hopefully this review can be helpful to anyone who's looking for a feel good drama. It has its shortcomings but the main couple and the chemistry and support between them isn't it. It's definitely a lot better than what I was expecting. To be honest going off the synopsis I excepted to drop it pretty early, much less finish all 44 episodes!Anyways the story consists of our FL Yang Zhen Zhen who loves music but she isn't the best at it, and in this cut-throat industry she doesn't make the cut. However she wants to get a job that relates to music and she ends up landing a job at Star ent. where our ML Zheng Boxu is a pop star. He's a very under appreciated singer and many people think he's only famous because of his rich dad. He wants to gain creative freedom with his songs however many people still doubt him. Anyways through a series of events our FL becomes the assistant of our ML and honestly I HATEEE the boss/assistant troupe but this show does it SO WELL!! mainly because our FL isn't a doormat (she speaks up to anyone the CEO the directors our ML his rich dad ) and she takes charge of our ML in such a comedic way and as the show progresses the both of our leads grow both personally and with their careers. The FL gets promoted as a manager and the ML gains the respect of the company. Also the FL accompanies the ML through all of his tough times (there's a lot). You really see the relationship grow from strangers to friends to lovers. It's very realistic and I especially LOVE how the "star" has to prove himself to the girl. Their is a love triangle but its done so in a non-annoying way, and the 2ML has his own storyline which was interesting.
The acting was really good. The styling got better as the show progressed. You really see the FLs style evolve as she's promoted to manager. The ML has some questionable outfits, but its fine. Also his makeup really grows on you. At first I was thinking how it was too much but its a grower I promise!! The acting is great on both sides. I feel like our ML really found his element in this drama since he's an idol (Ex-EXO member) in real life. So I bet he really enjoyed his role and he's really good with it. Janice Wu is an absolute delight I've seen her in LCDF and this role fits her so much better but that's for another day. Anyways she really embodies a confident funny girl and I loved seeing her evolution and it was acted out well. The chemistry between them is very natural and i loved how its a slow slow burn because it's most realistic.
The OSTs are all great. It doesn't hurt to have an actual idol sing and produce all the songs ;) "ILL BE UR BEGGAR AND FOOL" FUCK IT UPPP. I loved them all!
So why isn't this a 10/10 well it's very long. The main couple made it all worth it, but if the main couple weren't that strong I would've dropped this much sooner. The business parts were very boring after the first couple of episodes. And they fill most of the episodes with that when the actual main couple gets about 40% of screen time. (ITS WORTH IT THO YALL THEYRE HELLA CUTE) . Also our FLs bsf is annoying as hell! Even though the romance is more of a sub plot it is an interesting watch and it sheds more light on how unfair the entertainment industry really is.
So do I recommend it? YES if you want a strong FL and a supportive couple yall should definitely watch!

For Music Lovers and All
Story-The moment I started the drama I immediately loved it. I loved the storyline especially since it also talks about the appreciation of music. The storyline has unique elements but also known elements. Like the hate to love relationship. Though I feel as if the ending could've been better. The fact that this drama also really highlighted the "never give up" phrase made me fall in love with the Drama.
Acting/Cast-
This casting is one of the best. This drama introduced me to Janice and Tao even more and it made me love them. Their acting is on spot. Whenever I watched them act, it felt like I they weren't acting and they are the characters. Which made me love them even more. For the character Zheng Boxu was a really good character for tao and he portrayed him really well. There was also a lot of detail when it comes to his character. While Yang Zhenzhen's character was lacking in backstory but gave a lot of attitude which made me fall in love with Zhenzhen. What I just wished added into the character is details about her life.
Music-
The music was really great and it's all most is from TAO. I really liked the songs to the point it made me a fan of Tao. A cute little detail I also really liked was their ringtones. The ringtones perfectly matched the characters personalities and appearances.
Rewatch Value-
I would totally rewatch this drama again but I don't think I'll get tired of it.
Overall its a very good drama and I really recommend it to people who love music or are having a tough time with their dreams.

Idol drama that has too much drama
I got bored of this drama around episode 2-4. It's bearable to finish but at times very dragged an boring. The thing with this drama is Tao's acting isn't the best as if he's type casted to play mainly 2nd generation rich boy. The whole story about this drama is about how Zheng Boxu overcomes his hardships but it doesn't really happen until the last 10 episodes which makes the first 30 a little waste of time and dragged. With everything happening so quick near the last 3 episodes, a lot of details were overseen which left a lot of confusion. My biggest question is, when did Boxu and Zirui become buddy buddy? At the last minute, they be the best of friends where as the 43 episodes prior to the end, they hate each other. Was this review helpful to you?

LIGHT HEARTED VIEWERSSS!!
If you love light hearted shows this is definitely for you!! I love the chemistry between.the main leads!! Its just amazing, It has a happy ending for all of the characters... More importantly it isn't a regular girl falling in love with a rich guy, she fell in love with hime when he was at his worst and all the scenes match up with their chemistry!! Its definitely one of my favorite CDRAMA!! And it definitly is worth the time!!! I really like the acting of the main characters!!! It also has a moral that those who stay loyal to you at your worst are the ones who diserve your love!!Was this review helpful to you?

Sometimes, Bad is Bad
I tried this Drama once, made it to 10 before rage-quitting at how unspeakably AWFUL, really VILE the ML was. After a few months, I tried it again because so many Wu Qian fans said it was a great role for her and that she shone. After reaching 30/44 with ZERO improvement in the utter dchebag ML, I gave up for the second and final time. I kept hoping for improvement, but there was NONE. And I do mean NONE, ZERO, NADA, ZILCH.The final straw for me came in episode 26/44. That's SIXTY PERCENT done, by which point most tsundere MLs are starting to show signs of being vaguely human, giving SOME reason to accept that the FL might fall for them. NOT THIS ONE. In episode 26, after she was doing her job as his agent by giving him sensible advice related to his career, he stopped the car in the middle of nowhere and ordered her out, leaving her to find her own way back to the city. When she was picked up by a creep who tried to rape her, the ML blamed HER, and refused to accept that it was all his fault.
As awful as that was, it's actually fairly standard tsundere behaviour, but what made it even worse, besides being so late in the Drama, was her reaction. After having been almost raped because of his childish petty rage and utter selfishness, she "fell in love" with him because she discovered that he's bought a stupidly expensive t-shirt for her. ACTUAL HEADDESK MOMENT!
After 26 episodes of being her own woman and putting up with all his ENDLESS cr*p, verbal and physical abuse, being treated like a slave, and his infantile possessiveness, she falls for him because he bought an expensive shirt? Sigh! Also, GOODBYE.
The moral of this story? When you drop, trust your gut and LEAVE IT DROPPED.

Great performance by Janice Wu couldn't save this series
Like others, I found myself fastforwarding scenes that didn't involve the MCs. I find that Chinese dramas tend to have a lot of side stories and fillers but not all of them are engaging or well-written. I enjoyed the performance of my current fave C-actress Janice Wu while Tao was just okay. I like Boxu's supportive sister and found that even his Dad, except for that extreme attempt to bring his son around, was quite reasonable for someone with his wealth. I agree that Zhen Zhen's character could have been explored in depth instead of subjecting us to countless repetitive scenes on the business side of the music industry or even her best friend's infatuation. Was this review helpful to you?

Had so much potential to be a 10 star
Things I loved:Music! Incredible- sadly can't seem to find the OST.
Main Lead fantastic, perfectly portrayed the idol star
Chemistry - on one hand this was really great between the main leads.
Character ARC for ML.
Things that took it from a 10 to an 8:
Pacing - this drama could have easily been cut in half. I love that friendship develops first but it dragged and dragged.
Chemistry- there were so many moments that we could have gotten a reaction to their inner feelings of attraction/love but it never came.
First kiss is in one of the last episodes.
FL behavior is ridiculous as the story progresses she becomes more silly. The constant rejection or flinching away was believable in the beginning, as ML is a joker. But once it becomes clear he loves her, she is still doing it
FL kissing is frozen.
This drama would have absolutely killed it had they come together faster, leaned into the great chemistry that the actors had, and more scenes post getting together of working thru the issues of star/manager/voice problems/industry/hostage taking as a proper couple.
The side story of the bestie falling in love with 2ML was easily erasable.
How was it OK for Xu have a relationship but not for the 2ML. So many plot holes.

Good plot/ premise/ music
I have to say the best part of the drama was the ost. Respect Tzao’s singing/ rapping ability and own personal story which they seem to bring into the story. Really like the premise where Zheng boxu’s aim is to make c-pop known internationally. Also like Yang zhenzhen’s will in standing up for what she thinks is right. At some points I found the drama a little draggy or unbelievable, especially when they brought in foreign actors into certain scenes. But overalls I still finished it! Not too bad and an easy watch. Was this review helpful to you?
Music, Romance, Idols… Loved This Drama!!
THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN THE SKY! 🌌I loved everything about this drama. The songs in this drama are awesome! The way all the characters grow, their chemistry, their trials and tribulations, their love and angst; you can feel and relate to it. Phenomenal!! There is a love triangle, but it is moderate and not overdone like a lot of others have been; which I found to refreshing. If you like dramas to include music, romance, and idols; then I highly recommend watching this one! It’s fantastic!! 🥰❤️🥰❤️🥰
