Comedic train wreck that becomes depressing
I actually had this marked as "not interested" because of the compelling bad reviews & I should have not allowed myself to be tempted , but it was free on Netflix & I thought :oh, it has Choi Si-won in it AND it has a happy ending ( I cheated & looked). Ah, I was SO very wrong to watch it. I wish I hadn't because I now like Choi Si-won less & that is harsh, but his character was horribly irritating & written badly. I loved Choi Si-won in 'She was pretty' & wished that he had been the lead. This series should have been the answer to his fan's prayers, but no, it fails miserably. the first 10 episodes are a comedic train wreck .It's so bad that Choi Si-won's mischievous smile actually becomes less & less attractive & for that I hate whoever was directing him. His character is selfish, even in his selflessness. He never really shows any real growth & even in the happy ending, he is not considering the female lead's feelings or wishes, only his own. The last 6 episodes have a totally different feel to them as things get serious, but though you get a relief from the comedy, it just starts to become depressing. To make matters much much worse, they play Gu Keun Byul"s "sing my song" not only as a theme for the 2 leads, but also for the the bromance ,as well as the unrequited love with the 2nd lead. It is SO over used that is looses it's charm completely. The series is lovely to look at & the actors are all charming, but it is not a series I would recommend. Only my affection for Choi-si won kept me from giving this 1 starWas this review helpful to you?

✒Weekly Isn't Weakly °5.7° ⏰️ °Sloppy writing/low IQ flushes the ➕message° ?%?
⚖When you're feeling a bit like a tw!t, this is the romcom you watch ~Maybe~ It's perfect to watch for flushing out a tearjerker ~Maybe~ It'll help you lighten up on those pesky heavy emotions ~Maybe~The good news is it does have its moments. Unfortunately, it's inane, overall. It's stupid like a stupid Hollywood romcom with dumbed-down formulaic writing, and my viewing eyes have expatriated to 🌏 to get away from that junk. Some of the characters' reactions to situations that arise are truly insulting. Then it's insulting to the power of 2, 4, & 8. This we don't appreciate. It's laziness. Perhaps the best thing to be said about RL is that I watched the whole thing. Looking back, maybe that wasn't a good decision, but since I have a lot of ⏳ right now I'm trying to finish the 📺 that I start. If you aren't happy with the earlier episodes, it gets no better. It gets worse. If you are working 5 part-time jobs and don't have much 🕛, this is not the show to squeeze in between shifts to the neglect of better offerings available. It's only worth your time if you are a shut-in like me, or you are seriously in need of something brainless.
Hyuk (Choi Si Won from Work Later, Drink Now) is the n'er-do-well youngest of a Chairman's family. His brother (the beautifully square-jawed Lee Jae Yoon from Misaeng: Incomplete Life-9.1) will take over the business, but schmyuk Hyuk has never been good at anything except playing around and running with women. That kind of thing will generate a scandal or two. One day he dud it - one scandal too many. Chairdad kicked him out with n⚫thing. Nada. Zilch. Just pocket lint. It's so bad with dad that Hyuk must go into hiding. He needs 💰. He has to work, but he has no skills. Fortunately he just met her (Baek Jun played by Kang So Ra) as she lives near his assistant, Jehun/Je Hoon (Gong Myung). That's two people he can turn to in a crisis, and this is a crisis of unimaginable (to him) proportions. You need work? Jun ain't weakly. She's 📆 weekly! 'Okay,' Jun says: '👣Follow me on the temp-job parade!👣'
After a gig or two they end up as janitors cleaning chairdad's office building… with the opportunity to go FULL💲TIME. She's in heaven. He's in hell, worried he'll be recognized, but she guarantees him he won't be. It is hilarious when Hyuk stands in the lobby and realizes that he's utterly invisible when he's dressed as a janitor. It's a great scene. (Psst - do you know the names of the cleaning people at your job? Do you ever thank them? Common courtesy is free; it costs you nothing to say "Thank you.") Once their little gang moves from the construction site to the corporate gig, they face many challenges together, the ultimate one being the quest for full-time jobs. Temping is just so temporary.
On the whole, though, Hyuk is just too childish. This isn't about the actor (It took about 4 episodes before his goofy smile started to win me over a bit. It dropped on me like a cinder block at a construction site - What a cute little winsome, dimpled smile). It's the way the character is written and directed. This actor should never wear black, btw; it's a dreadful color on him. Overall, his character is a poor 💓 lead. Yes, even in a silly romcom, that matters.
"I can't believe she gets comfort from eating a pig's ear." RL does manage to sweep up here and there; at times it's adorable. In episode 6 I actually laughed out loud. Mom, played by Kyeon Mi Ri who often gets the role of a pampered trophy-wife, is precious. (Even she is too often shrill, though). From a Mars & Venus perspective, it's truly humorous how men are devastated when they hear: "I like you as a friend🤝." Men aren't looking for friends, ladies. Women think they're being °nice°, and women can like someone ~genuinely~ but not be romantically interested in the person. Men don't look at personal interactions the same way, as they prioritize other kinds of connections, ahem. This is an illustration of how being °nice°, is just a °nice° term for WEAK. It's better to be straight and forward. Look at the person, ladies, and tell the truth: 'I have no control over my feelings, and that's not the way I feel right now.' Always be kind & gentle, and always be FIRM. Here's the signing bonus: It will get easier. Flex those social muscles. Next thing you know, your whole life is going to change✨.
Jehun (Gong Myung front The Bride of Habaek-7 & Be Melodramatic-8.7) is Hyuk's lifelong friend and assistant. His father worked for the fam, and now he does. In many ways it's worked out well for Jehun, but he and his father have had to put up with alot of demoralizing condescension. It wears on a person. As of episode 11, however, I no longer cared what he was thinking, I didn't care what his motives were, I didn't care about the pain he's had in his life - he's just an a$$, and I couldn't stand him. He's bristly, grumpy, rude, callous, disdainful, cold-hearted, brusque, uncivil, judgmental, unappreciative of his father… he is a consummate jerk. There cannot be a good enough reason for his attitude. There's not many Kromcoms without a love triangle. Je-hun has a thing for Jun and that's added on to the existing pile of baggage. He had plenty of time with her and he never made a move, so he has only himself to blame. But it's much more comforting to project our angst onto somebody else. The truth seems to be that he refuses to accept that he's closed off his emotions. His experiences and the hurts that he's suffered have chauffeured him to a bad place. If we don't face the truth about ourselves we only hurt us - and people are just awful at facing truth. We are the chairmen of excuses and blaming - we exist in lies that we tell ourselves, but these lies eventually cage us. This is another form of toxic weakness: Jehun put himself in a cage and is blaming Hyuk for it, while at the same time, he's blind to how distasteful his personality has become.
Where am I now? Is this Seoul, the city I've been living in all this time?" Hyuk is surrounded by day workers scrounging to be chosen for work, and he's shocked. They've always been there, but he's never seen them before🙈. Every society has people that have been left behind, and we put blinders on because we don't know how to fix it. Then we get used to those blinders and no longer see the disadvantaged, or we tell ourselves (we lie) that they are thus due to their own fault - that's not always the case, and who among us hasn't made mistakes, anyway? RL does have a theme: Noblesse obligue. Those of us that have are morally obligated to look out for those less fortunate. There's certainly a time for giving out freebies, but that doesn't fix poverty. Looking-out means looking beyond throwing 💰 at problems. It also means to be decent/kind/courteous, volunteer, and yes, certainly give to charities that are on the ground sweeping up the debris that most people step over without a glance🙈. If you think that it's just the rich who are obligated, remember that by world standards, the entire middle class in the USA IS RICH. We could confiscate the wealth of the top 3% of the rich in this country and it wouldn't make much of a dent. We all need to do our part. It's not just the jobless, many workers are left behind. Workplaces don't need to be miserable. Bosses have a tiny bit of power, and power is one thing that flushes some of the character turds to the surface. People that abuse power to feed their pride are horrible, and also horribly delusional. How does belittling another person elevate them? It doesn't, but it does reveal how small their minds are. We can talk about laws and oversight, but the truth is that this is a matter of the💛 and we cannot legislate the 🖤. I've seen bully bosses operate and I've been victimized by one. Nobody wanted to speak up. Everyone kept their heads down hoping they wouldn't be the next 🎯. This is where social strength becomes important - we should call out abusive bosses - kindly, gently, and firmly, but not weakly. Noblesse obligue. We need to look out for eachother. Workers Unite!

Started this drama with so much hope and excitement and ended with no desire to finish it.This was my first Siwon drama, and I was as hype as a person can be without spontaneously combusting. (The man is gorgeous.) I did not realize going in, however, that his style of acting is so....hammy.... I'm not typically a fan of hammy acting, even when it's intentional. As such, I didn't really enjoy his character as much as I had hoped I would. (Not that Siwon wasn't absolutely adorable at multiple points throughout the story. Siwon can't help but be too cute for his own good.)
Truthfully, almost all of the actors can, and have, done better things. They certainly put in the effort, but the characters were just so poorly written that it made no difference. (Although I must admit that Gong Myung's performance impressed me, even if his character frequently infuriated me.)
Unfortunately, the story was pretty lackluster as well and did nothing to counteract Siwon's corny acting style or the poorly written characters that surrounded him. The story set up some really interesting premises initially. Chaebol turned clumsy part-timer, Candy who Likes part-time work and has no interest in a 'real job,' Chaebol potentially renouncing his life of riches, and Candy guiding him along the way. (That's really it in terms of premises that were interesting.) These were characters I liked and wanted to know more about. But the drama never went anywhere with these ideas and just turned into a generic, bland amalgamation of nothingness instead.
I usually feel incredibly guilty about dropping dramas, even when they're terrible.
I dropped this 2 episodes from the end and never felt like going back. (And I didn't drop it sooner because I was on the Dramaclub at Dramafever for it and was only able to drop it when I did because things got kind of hectic in my life at that moment and provided me an out.)
When I drop a drama and feel no guilt...that is one heck of a bad drama.

Easy to follow
I really enjoyed watching this. Choi Si-won really steals the show with his adorable dimples and intent gaze. He’s really cool!! I like how he doesn’t give up on Baek Jun and has so much faith in her. The team of three unlikely friends he made at the construction site are really cute and comical and their friendship and loyalty to him is so heart-warming. If I was Baek jun, I definitely will fall for him rather than the wooden Je-hun! This is my first drama watching Choi si-won act and I am going to look out for all his dramas and movies from now on!Was this review helpful to you?

More dramas like this!
I'm so sad to complete this drama, I really loved the whole atmosphere and the characters. The aesthetics was also very beautiful and clean. It's a real gem: funny, touching and committed at once! The main characters are different from what we're used to see. Byun is far from arrogant and brooding male leads hiding their feelings, on the opposite, he's totally open about them and dares to confess (even though he gets rejected a couple of times). I have something for goofy guys as well, it breaks the bland hot male figures. Things often turn out bad for him, it's not too easy like it can be in other dramas.
The female lead also is very interesting, she's not a fragile little bird who needs to be protected all the time nor one who's over-the-top, she's just normal, natural, smart, and can take the lead in the action. She reminded me of Park Shin Hye's characters. Kang So Ra did an amazing job as a charming hard-working young woman who's trying to find the truth about several issues.
We have a real love triangle, both male leads have their pros ans cons. Sometimes one is standing out, then the other. The secondary characters are interesting as well, from Byun's scatty mother who's adorable, Byun's hyung who's a bit scary, the undercover cop, the employees, etc...
The fight between poor and rich is well thought, Byun goes down at the bottom of the hierarchy and has to do back up working hard. He discovers what it's like to actually work, how things are harder than it seems, how helpful it is to be priviledged, etc..
It's a real pleasure to follow this team of friends and colleagues who support each other while struggling with this shady company. One of the best series in this genre!

Refreshing
Love this drama. It wasn't really a cliché cocky chaebol falls for poor helpless woman drama (though I'm a sucker for cliché kdramas). You also don't get a light fluffy romantic drama. It jdidn't focus on the romance, that was actually a side plot. The main focus was the injustice on the workfloor and rather friendships, but it wasn't light. Some things were rather hard to digest. However I thought the story was enjoyable, there were comedic elements(I thought there were many funny things), I also think they had a good cast to portray the storyline. Also the soundtrack was quite fitting and not annoying.I think it was worth watching and will definitely rewatch the show. If you want something refreshing, I'd definitely recommend.

Boring unromantic subpar comedy
I tried to finish , this drama but the story was draggy and the romance between the character was non. I really thought this was a a Rom-Com. Yet this is more like a Non.I feel that the writer was trying to slowly have romance but by have slim to no real developing romance between the characters. I also feel the comedy was cringe, not in a funny cringe way but in a "they trying to hard" cringe type of way. The business aspect was also hard to enjoy from a comedy romance business mix view If it really a boring day I might finish this drama but for now ,dropping it.Was this review helpful to you?

Dropped........................
Looks like "Revolutionary Love" had more plot twists than an episode of a soap opera! I mean, three attempts and still couldn't get through it? That's some dedication right there. It's like ordering the same dish three times at a restaurant, hoping it'll taste better each time. The protagonist's transformation sounds like it needed a bit more seasoning—maybe a sprinkle of authenticity or a dash of character development. Going from a privileged person to a "champion of the people" is like trying to turn a cupcake into a superhero without the right ingredients.
And a predictable love triangle? Come on, writers, throw in a curveball! It's like playing chess with someone who only knows how to move the pawns.
The pacing issues sound like a real workout for your patience. I can almost see you checking the time, hoping for a superhero to swoop in and save the day, or at least bring some excitement.
At least the cinematography and production quality were on point. It's like having a delicious-looking meal that unfortunately tastes like cardboard. Presentation matters, but so does the substance!
And those attempts at humor—forced jokes are like trying to tickle yourself. It just doesn't quite hit the mark. Maybe they needed a comedy consultant to spice things up.
In the end, it seems like "Revolutionary Love" missed the mark. If only they had added a pinch of direction, a dollop of character development, and a splash of unexpected twists, it could have been a feast for the eyes and the heart.
