What's Wrong with Secretary Kim was the first K-drama that truly caught my attention, and it completely changed how I viewed Korean dramas. The storyline isn’t overly complex, but the magic lies in the performances of Park Min Young and Park Seo Joon. Their chemistry was so natural and heartfelt that every scene felt like a warm embrace.This drama is a perfect blend of lighthearted comedy and swoon-worthy romance, making it incredibly comforting to watch. I loved how Lee Young Joon’s confident, boss-like charm was complemented by Kim Mi So’s grace and intelligence—they were a perfect match in every sense. It’s a drama that doesn’t demand too much from the viewer but instead provides a feel-good escape.
For something this delightful, a perfect 10/10 is well deserved!

Based on a novel turned webtoon, “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” tells of the story of a secretary who has been dealing with a demanding boss for the past nine years. After finally clearing her family’s debt, she decides to quit and take the chance to live her life the way she always wanted. Park Min Young, as the titular secretary to Park Seo Joon‘s Lee Young Joon, is so effortlessly charming and radiant throughout, your eyes can’t help but be drawn to her. Her natural chemistry with Park Seo Joon also makes their scenes together deliciously swoon-worthy.All I can say is this is a must watch show.And must watch show for rom-com lovers.All that you can ask for is in this show.This lighthearted one will live with you forever.Was this review helpful to you?

What even is this
I started it as I like office romance genre but when I started this I couldn't even finish this. Left it after watching 8 episodes and started watching Crash landing on you - best decision. Then I had nothing to watch so I thought to continue and then again I couldn't after 11 episodes. Even then some how I completed it. Waste of 16 hours. The character development of male lead is arrogant to less arrogant. The acting of female lead is useless even a coconut would act better than her - No expression, no acting nothing. They were in their 30's and acting like high school teenagers. The trauma - being kidnapped together and then the suicide because the kid said something is so stupid. The fear of spiders and cable ties ughhh so stupid. Couldn't even imagine what the writers were thinking. How is this even so highly rated kdrama. There are so many good kdramas. The side characters were good they kept the show going. It was so BORING. WHEN WILL THIS END was the only thought in my mind.Was this review helpful to you?
The supporting characters were engaging as well. Fellow secretary Kim Ji Ah, played by Pyo Ye Jin had an interesting story arc with Go Gwi Nam, portrayed by Kwang Chan Sung. I thought the two of them were as funny together as Kim Mi So and Yeong Joon.
The first episode starts with Kim Mi So giving her notice to Yeong who is very upset and does not want to let her go. She had spent the last several years working to pay off family debts and now Kim Mi So wants to find herself. From the beginning the boss proposes to the secretary and she understandably turns him down. For the remaining sixteen episodes, we see the two grow closer for various reasons including a strange childhood backstory that involved his brother.
The supporting characters are fun and cute as well (meaning: they didn’t repulse me, nor did they knock my socks off). The music was descent and so was the cartoon-y graphics. Yes, I’m one of those strange people that likes the little cartoon graphics they put in comedies sometimes to make a point. Without giving any spoilers, Secretary Kim is a fun and entertaining show that won’t wow you nor will it make you very angry with a terrible ending. The best part of the show will be watching Park Seo Joon play the ever-changing Lee Yeong Joon. And for the record, he can sing me a lullaby anytime he wants.

I love it because it's very down-to-earth. Very well written, and not contrived.
I did not once get frustrated by a constant barrage of contrived obstacles 'preventing' the main romance from progressing.TBH, I'm not here for the angst. When a story takes place within a situation that's genuinely difficult to resolve, that's one thing, but I'm getting sick of romances than finally begin in the final episodes of the show, that drag on, and on, with rushed finish. This is not like that.
I was impressed that the early story was mysterious for a while, but resolved itself quite early in the drama, so we could get to see the couple spend some time AS a couple. It was very realistic that they gradually got better and better at resolving their misunderstandings, faster and with less fuss each time. I thought the pace was perfect.
I smiled so much, throughout this show, that I thought my face might stay that way. It was fun, heartwarming, interesting, and had several noble characters who got a chance to show their best aspects to come out in a better place than where they started.
I gave it 9.5 oput of 10 because I couldn't find anything to criticize about it. It was wonderful. It did everything I needed it to do.
The soundtrack didn't make me stop watching to go get the songs, but some were quite nice, and all fitted the story. At no point was the soundtrack annoying, or out of step with the feel of the show.
I will definitely watch it again, just because it made me happy to watch it.
Especially loved the boy who played main chaebol as a kid. ❤️

Just finished watching this drama as it was a recommendation by a friend. I can say that I enjoyed it a lot, but there were some small details I personally disliked. Beginning with the plot, which was a 7/10 for me. I don't understand why every single K-drama has this childhood trauma factor, I found it overly dramatic and unnecessary for the plot. It made me want to skip all those scenes.
It's funny because for the first half of the series, I thought that the relationship development was going too slow, the male lead constantly trying to conquer the girl and failing, trying to kiss several times but someone/something interrupting them, etc. until they suddenly start dating, by chapter 12-ish(?), and two weeks later they get married.. what the hell? I know this is K-drama land, but make it a bit more realistic, lol. Their parents didn't even know each other and they were already planning on the wedding! I would have given it a better score if they ended up as boyfriend and girlfriend instead of that rushed marriage.
The acting was one of the best things. The main leads are very good at acting and they had good chemistry, in my opinion. They also made me laugh a bit. They had much better moments of intimacy than the rest of K-dramas (at least the ones I have watched). Secondary characters were also very interesting and I would definitely watch a drama with their stories as main plots, lol. Damn, even the child actors were amazing!
I don't usually pay much attention to the music, but the drama had a great soundtrack overall. I loved Gfriend's song, also the one that says ''It's yoooouuu..'' which is stuck in my head. The sound effects were so funny and unique as well.
I definitely recommend it to everyone who's looking for a funny drama and easy to watch.

Excellent Chemistry Yet Overly Dramatic
While I liked the main romance between Mi So and Young Joon, I felt ambivalent about most of the other parts of the story.❤ I absolutely adored Park Seo Joon as Lee Young Joo. Am I surprised? No, of course not. It was a difficult role to nail as he had to be equal parts egotistical asshole and vulnerable romantic lead. I wasn't as sold on Park Min Young as Kim Mi So. Her character wasn't all that interesting despite the intriguing premise. I wanted to love her, but I didn't. That said, the two leads had amazing chemistry and heart melting moments together.
❤ While the secondary characters were played by some of my favorite character actors (looking at you Kang Ki Young!), I didn't like any of their romances. While they all had potential, none of them were given the time and attention needed to make them a viable, interesting foil to the main lead's romance. When I compare this to Hometown Cha Cha Cha, which did an excellent job layering the ensemble cast's stories without overwhelming the main romantic story, it just doesn't hold up.
❤ The brother's storyline was by far the worst part of this show as it was overly convoluted and added nothing of value to their characters. It reminded me of the worst parts of a soap opera. Then again, rarely do I enjoy love triangles so perhaps that aspect tinged my engagement of it.

for me this drama was slow in the start, I almost gave up in the beginning but then I started to like the story.I didn't like the final episode for me it was meh, the wedding was nice but the rest of the episode was not anything special. the two other couples where super cute and I liked the characters. but overall it's a cute drama.

Starting few episodes plots gives knowledge abt the both of them & slightly developing their past & some confusions occurs by his older brother. Though he confess his feelings several times but later nearly at Ep 8 she confess.Then they gradually grows closer & also both of them as past together & she gets the clear idea of her past & the boy she looking was him which was previously shown as his elder bro. So all together goes well with better romance in eps 11 so on. Then he sees her family (sis's) to get their good looking each other and later her father. Then all her family agrees him as in law. Thus now comes marriage sequence at nearly Ep14-16.And nearly 3 side characters finally becomes couples. And like they fulfilled all the characters completely.Also the marriage plot was do so good.Overall altogether Plot as Character understanding of each other, childhood past love, better romance sequence and marriage.

Great show but predicable
This show is so funny and charming. Story is very predictable though but the 2 main cast are really fun together and have great chemistryThe FL is very beautiful, elegant, funny and charming. The ML also is charming. His role doesn't require him to do much but he did great for what was giving to him.
This show did get really dark by mid way through since the main leads do have some really dark back stories.
But it was predicable though as things went along.
What's wrong with secretary kim is definitely a must watch for anyone who likes funny and charming kdrama.

Not that good....
My secret romance was one of first kdramas I watched when I was barely even teenager and it just bring me back many good memories and I loved that showSo now I wanted to watch one more office kdrama to see if im still into that.... and Im not.
Idk if its something about me but this show was quite really boring to me
Female lead was ok, she was just bland and boring to me but she was nice
Male lead was definently diffrent from other male leads and I liked that concept but he started pissing me off after some time
And that mistery was also boring to me
The only thing I actually liked was her collauges and I LOVEDDD second coupleee!!! I actually finished this just of them
And main couple were cute sometimes but thats it
Honestly idk if this drama is actually boring ir Im nit just 13 years old anymore?
