What I didn't like: Even though I previously said that the scenario was nice I think that sometimes the drama didn't exploit it well enough and sometimes I feel like it's hard to understand certain points. Would I recommend this drama? Yes, especially if it's your first fantasy drama, would I watch this drama again? I don't think so, maybe to understand some parts I didn't otherwise no.

Good Idea - Awful Execution
This is the first drama I have ever dropped unfortunately, as I do not continue watching a drama if it falls below a 5/10.Now, what went wrong, for me at least? The idea was inventive and I liked it. But how should I explain Abyss in the most honest way possible?
Abyss is simply boring.
I don't care about the characters or what happens to them later on in this series. A 1 hour episode honestly feels like 2/3 hours long. Cringe script writing, awful acting at parts, mega-slow pacing at parts, too.
I welcome people to still try out Abyss, but don't say I didn't warn you. I feel you'll find yourself dropping it too.

too much stuff going on
I didn't /hate/ this drama but i think there was too much going on, really.The fantasy stuff wasn't explained well which was a bummer... the ? aliens ? you see in episode one? well that's it! But the thing I didn't like the most is that the plot went on because of really dumb stuff which most of the time didn't really make sense??
Also, side note, but I really didn't get why they showed so many times scenes of domestic violence with *REDACTED*, most of the time always the same one replayed over and over... I don't think that was really necessary.
What I liked about this drama is the acting. I think that Park Boyoung did a fantastic job and I can't believe we're supposed to believe she is ""ugly"" or not pretty like... have you seen her.... True Beauty who... anyways! Her character is kind of annoying, especially at the beginning but I think in a way that's her charm lmao.
The main couple is cute even tho I'm not a big fan of the "I pinned after you for x years to the point I looked kind of obsessed" but I think they played it well in the late episodes.
A special mention to Kwoon Soohyun, he was crazy good! I really didn't recognise him from Record of Youth like whaaat... acting... wow... hope to see more of him, hopefully with a lead role.
In conclusion the main plot is really messy and the show is carried by the amazing cast, I think it's fun if you watch it with friends so you can laugh about the plot holes together + the funny scenes are actually really funny.

Don’t miss out on this drama
In this society, day and age online criticizm became a norm. People are looking for “plot holes”, for “predictability score”, nitpick on insignificant details and forget to get the true essence of the story. Sometimes there is a comfort in predictable and simple. Not everything needs to be done in over-the-top manner.I don’t understand such negative reviews and low ratings. If I paid too much attention to them I would have missed out on this wonderful piece. This is such a wholesome drama. It’s ominous but also entertaining, clever, offbeat, hilarious at times and also sweet. It has many layers. It’s a mystery, fantasy, comedy and romance. It’s a thriller. It’s a story of a friendship that naturally blossomed into love. It does not have even a drop of cheesiness. Park Bo Young and Ahn Hyo Seop did amazing job portraying their characters. And the music is so, so darn good. See for yourselves.

Im not sure why the reviews are so low for this show, I'm picky and if something truly isn't good I'll be fair. So this is my honest review.
I couldn't wait for the next episodes, this was soo entetaining and it eas a different story from what I've ever seen, there were some questionsable scenes, but apart from that its no reason to give a low rating, the music, actinf and the story itself surpasses any tiny flaws this may or may bot have.
I'd say, give this one a chance and see for yourself whether it's good or not. Me and my sister and niece thought it was really.good, suspenseful and entertaining. And the music in this, i I haven't felt this good about catchy music since the legend of the blue sea, even my husband kept asking what we were watching because of the music in this.

This drama poses the question - if our outward appearance matched our inner selves, would we be more or less attractive? For our ML the answer is hecka more - he’s so kind, generous, loyal, & genuine. His love for the FL has held true for decades, though he felt unworthy due to his looks, never knowing that she liked him for his heart all along. If only he’d been brave enough to take a chance & confess…
For our FL, the answer is a bit different. While not a shrew, she does start off as arrogant & a bit entitled due to all the attention she’s always received. Peel back the layers, though, & we discover a woman worthy of the ML’s devotion. 🫶🏻
This wasn’t my fav work by either lead actor, but I still enjoyed it. There’s good character development & the story is entertaining enough 🙃 I laughed at their antics, I worried if they’d get a happy ending, I hurt for their pain, & I cheered for their triumphs. So while I probably won’t ever watch it all the way through again, I’m glad I experienced their story with them.

I liked the drama. The acting, the plot and the idea are great. The main characters are cute. However, sometimes I was angry with them and wondered how they could be so stupid. I hit my forehead with facepalms. At many points I asked them the question "why do you do it this way and not that way? Why? Why? It would have been easier this way...", I really did not understand the logic of their actions, since many things could have been done differently and the consequences would not have been so critical. I do not want to spoil it, but I think those who watched it, many, will understand me. The antagonists, of course, also do not shine with logic at times. As they say, "the director on soap". But the drama still dragged me in, not from the first, but from the second episode, and it was very interesting to watch, to observe how the plot develops. So, overall I rate the drama as good (although I never dare rate dramas as bad... well, I can't bring myself to rate it lower than 5 if it sucked me in, even if there were a lot of mistakes). And I recommend it! It may not hook you for long, but you'll have a great time.P.S. These jokes with the heroes' returns in the last episode, in dramas, of course, amuse me. Of course, I'm glad that it's always a happy ending and would be very upset if it were the other way around. However, lately I've started to get irritated by these seemingly inexplicable, magical, almost illogical returns. They could at least show and explain normally how this happens.
P.S2 The last episode really reminded me of moments from "One day, destruction entered the doors of my house." I don't know if anyone else noticed this? But I liked this coincidence. Even the heroes in the drama are the same)
