In my TOP 5 BL Dramas. An Exquisite Mixture of...
This drama mixes various topics and aspects of life perfectly. It starts as a high school drama, with lots of funny moments, struggles of student life and teen romance, how to find your own way, finding out what you like, what you love, experimenting with new things; and ends with making serious questions about adult and psychological issues. The casting is pretty good, main and side characters alike and the actors are really top-notch and versatile. They can be funny, lovable, goofy and can also carry out heavy drama at a very high standard. Moreover, the script and the characters are beautifully written, and side characters are not only in an insignificant comic-relief role, but certain characters are utilized later on in the show as a plot device as well as in an emotional drive, making them a feel more significant. The quality of the episodes only vary a little, every episode is entertaining and satisfying by itself, with the finaly one being the best episode in my opinion. It could be a stand-alone clip/movie as well and would feel very strong.It is 100% worth watching the whole show and reaching the finale.
The questions the drama shows the viewer include:
- How do you find your own way as a teenager at school, at love, at your own family?
- What can you learn from another person culturally, emotionally, especially if they are totally different from you?
- How do you think about the future?
- What to do with your life after graduation?
- How to overcome the past? Is it even possible?
- What's the true meaning of life?
- And more....
What I can say is that this drama will:
- Make you smile
- Make you root for the couples' happiness
- Make you learn from their dynamics
- Lift up your soul to the Heaven, squeeze it and send it to the deepest parts of Hell
As for me, this BL should be placed on the same shelf as titles like Your Name Engraved Herein, I Feel You Linger in the Air, and I Told Sunset About You (ITSAY), which introduce you into real drama and heavy emotions in a nearly perfect way, with beautiful script, visuals, characters and actors. Although it is not as realistic as ITSAY, it really deals with serious topics not many BL dramas do. It's one of the really unique BLs ever created.
Personally, I have rewatched it already 3 times, at different stages of my life, whenever I felt like reliving some real or even sad emotions, or just to remind myself to believe again, and I enjoyed it every time I watched it, I feel its rewatch value is pretty high, but you tell me. :) I'm feeling a bit confused that its MDL rating is lower than its more action-packed counterpart HIStory3: Trapped, but I can accept that action and lighter BLs might be more popular.
You'll LOVE this show if you are empathic, enjoy details and can easily get engaged by heavy drama situations.
You'll NOT LOVE this show if you are only into fluffy, goofy, innocent, easy BLs.

This would have probably been one of my favorite from the HIStory series, if not for the muddled ending. It's such a lovely portrayal of finding the right one for you. It poses the difficult question of how much you would do to achieve your love. Acting was really good, I had fun watching all the characters interact with each other. Both couples were so endearing in their own way, and I found myself falling in love with them over the course of the drama. The chemistry between the couples was really good as well. This is definitely the most explicit HIStory series. Music wasn't really at the forefront of Make Our Days Count. I think they concentrated more on the characters, which is fine with me. HIStory doesn't really focus on the music side of things, more so on the plot the majority of the time. The story is pretty basic, but the actors really bring you in, and I enjoyed getting to know them along the way. Both couples get relatively equal screen as well which is happy.
That being said, I haven't officially finished this series. I avoided the last episode, because I think it might break my heart the watch the last one. I might get around to it, but after watching Yu Xi and A-hao work hard to be together for eighteen episodes, it's unlikely I'll submit myself to that.
All in all, a really good drama, and super fun to watch. If you're fine with mixed endings, then you're a braver soul than I. If you are not, skip the last episode and nothing will be missed.

A beautiful drama
From the story to the acting to the cinematography, this series was absolutely beautiful and has stuck with me long past the first time I watched it. I enjoyed both couples very much but the main couple was definitely my favorite and their love for one another was lovely to watch. I found them realistic and they dealt with real life struggles. Watching the way they cared for one another, stuck by each other and loved and supported one another was the most powerful part of the story.I couldn’t recommend this enough. As others have mentioned, there is definitely a twist in the last episode but don’t let that put you off. Enjoy the ride because it’s well worth it.

Wish I had known beforehand......
Captivating, I would have rated it 10 if not...........The story is very beautiful and to a certain extent very realistic. Very well acted too.
I just wish I had known in advance not to watch the final episode(or 2). Fairy tales where the prince dies at the end, instead of living happily ever after, are no fun either......
I feel empty afther the last episode(s)
My advise.......
Watch the first 9(or 18) episodes!!!
But.....don't even take a peek at 10(or19/20)!!!!

The Ending…
The HIStory Series has been enjoyable overall and this started out along the same path. However, like most reviewers, the ending was heart wrenching and confusing.Every story cannot end with a white wedding, I get that. In real life people die unexpectedly in various ways. It’s horrible, awful and heartbreaking. The sweet side of the tragic death is the determination of his partner to fulfill his dreams…but it’s to the detriment of his own life moving forward, and that can be reality too. People get stuck in grief I understand that.
This is the part that was confusing: who was the “twin”? Where did he come from? Why does he suddenly appear? There’s no explanation or reasoning at all! I ran through as many scenarios as I could think of: the main character sees ghosts, the “twin” is the original character but with memory loss from the accident, etc., etc. In conclusion, this is another good HIStory series, heartbreaking but good, except the totally confusing and weird ending.

Lesson
It’s shows you a way of how to grow and realize what you want to do in life. How people can do there best if they try and how love can break berries. Life won’t always be easy, but know that during that bad period of time you actually grew and got to be a better person no matter who you love or what you want to do in life. Over all the message that gives us amazing, the actors were amazing, and the music was amazingP.S first time writing a review and also you will need some kleenex if you are a softy like me :)

But as time went by I realized, many conflicts from this series have a superior quality than the previous one.
Xiang Hao and Yu Xi's character development was truly extraordinary, let alone A-Hao. To be honest I cried out loud during the last episode. This series made me realize that sadness doesn't have to be portrayed clearly. It turned out that it was saved at the end of the time to make this series like a bomb, which devastated the people who watching it.
For sure, this series would be on the list as my favorite BL series of all time.

I just finished these series. I watched a lot of these kind but I think this is one of my favorites. The storyline has a real feeling. Even if the school enviroment and life is a cliche, the way they use it is really clever. No boring high school drama, the school is here just for the story to take place . And while the story develops, we can actually see real thoughts and problems teenagers have as they try to find themselves and understand the theme of love. It is nice and cute but (that's a liiiitle spoiler) it is ending with a sad and at the same time comforting way about understanding and moving forward. Also, I really like the acting, especially Hsiang Hao-ting's friends, and the music. I don't know if I ever rewatched the series. Not because they weren't good, but they were a really big emotional rollercoaster (and I watched every episode when they realesed) and sometimes it is difficult to feel this again. However, I recommend this drama to everyone!(English is not my first language so I am sorry for any mistakes)

After finishing this series, reading the title will never be the same again.
The fundamental cores about this series that really stood out on me are the genuine feelings of the main characters and the unconditional support as a lover, real friend and family. In this series, both relationships of the two couples are too strong emotionally and intimately. The rigid conviction of both couples for their family acceptance has really worth their patience. But an unforeseen event will lead to a drastic change in one's life.Haoting-XiGu: They have to climb a steep cliff to reach their desired destination without realizing that not every climber can reach the end. The hardships they have to go through are very painful. They always leave me with a lump in my throat whenever they are facing something in their relationship. This is a relationship that is almost perfect.
BoXiang-ZhiGang: Although they may not have experienced real struggles as a couple, but their steadfast relationship is something to look for. This is real relationship goals.
The brotherhood in this series is also one thing to look for. They sometimes act harshly just to help one another but their strong bond comes with beautiful and fun memories. How I wish I would've never missed this kind of relationship when I was a little bit younger than I am now.
The ending is happy and sad at the same time; I can really say out loud. The thoughts of reading the title will surely take me back from my emotional moments while watching this great work of art.
A must-watch! Fun. Heartbreaking. Time-worthy.

Beautful Story. Beautifully Well Acted.
Beautiful. Sweet. Hilarious. Sensual and Tragic. The actors are amazing in this beautiful story. I loved it so much. But you better have a box of tissues for the final episode. Or skip it altogether and pretend it ended happy;) But there are some beautiful parts in the final episode as well. Some characters get a happy ending.My only complaint other than the tragic death was a particular character in the final episode who didn't make sense and merely muddied the story creating confusion. In fact because of this brief non plot pertinent appearance I wasn't even sure of the outcome of the previous episode until halfway through the last.

Overall I enjoyed this show a lot, especially because of the main characters. They were very cute together, the development of their relationship was after all really healthy and lovely to watch.I actually understand the disappointment with the ending, which certainly could have had potential for a better development despite it not being a happy ending. The writing certainly has flaws, and has nothing original, but I think there is something very essential about this type of works. There are many perfect dramas, with a perfect ending. But life is not like this, and as the author wanted to say, make our days count, because death comes like this, without meaning, without prior warning. So even if the ending seems unnecessary or nonsense, well it only reflects what life can be. Life IS nonsense, and it's taken away from us even more easily than it takes to give it to us. Hao Ting's emotional closure, his mother encouraging him to move forward, his liberating cry, everything is a good portrait of what is real. Showing that he hasn't moved on yet, attached to the memory of his loved one, is just the most human thing they could write. His words in the last part of the episode were the perfect way to describe what it feels like when someone you love dies, your life goes on and he's still there, stuck at his age, always the same, forever, and it's really scary to move forward.

So..I actually liked this series,but let me tell you:It also broke me..Like for a few days I was a bit sad and noe I'm OK:) but didn't expect that..
Story:
The story was really nice I think.
Even If there were sometimes a few things which annoyed me a bit,it seems realistic to me.
It contains many things from many people's lifes I think,so there are also things you can learn.
Acting:
For me,the actors did a good job!
There were a few scenes which had to be hard to play probably,but they didn't disappoint me.
Music:
I didn't really pay attention to the music,but I think it was okay:)
Rewatch value: So even if I liked History:Make your days count,I don't know if I will ever get over this heartbreaking ending..Watching it again,even if it's just about their happy moments,would make me too sad..
Overall:
I would give this bl a 7,cause even if the ending took me out, it really shows us some important things in life..For example that we should fight for love,grow/change in life,and also that sometimes people who are important to you die..
To the question If it was worth it watching?
