Definitely a must watch for me ?

As someone who's more into action, tragedies and mysterious plots—this drama brought a relaxing and refreshing vibe to my mind!

At first, I was reluctant to watch this because I'm not really into fluff dramas and light series, but because of ZLH, I still proceeded to watch. Initially, I was expecting to get bored somewhere in the middle of the story—but I don't know if it's the glowing visuals, the tranquil vibes or the cute ost that kept my hooked up and made me stay up all night just to finish the whole series in one night!

The light vibes, the maturity of the characters and the cute, fluffy scenes hooked me and will definitely keep me coming back to rewatch the whole series. . . I wish I could watch this again like my first time,, definitely a must-watch

A very pleasant and comforting series to watch.

Here we follow the transformation of the female lead — Shen Xi Fan — who at the very beginning is stuck in a toxic relationship. Her boyfriend treats her like trash, tries to blame her for everything wrong in his life, and keeps her on a leash. Later, she meets the male lead, her relationship finally ends, and thanks to He Su Ye, she begins to learn what real love actually is.
He Su Ye himself is a massive green flag. From start to finish, he was incredible support for her and made her genuinely happy. The fact that she needed time never discouraged him. He simply stayed by her side and showed her true love with his whole being. Watching them happy together was beautiful, and their relationship was extremely sweet. There wasn’t even a hint of toxicity here. They supported each other deeply, even during difficult moments. There were no arguments after they got together, which made the whole thing very comfortable and enjoyable to watch. On top of that, they had amazing chemistry. They were a joy to look at, and their kisses were HOT.

A huge plus also goes to the female lead’s parents and the male lead’s grandfather. All three were wonderful characters, and most scenes with them made me smile — or cry, when her mom got sick. I have mixed feelings about the male lead’s father. On the one hand, I was happy when the female lead initiated their reconciliation (for a moment I was afraid he would oppose their relationship), because watching him, I felt like he had truly changed and understood that he hadn’t always been a good husband to his wife in the past. On the other hand, I kept remembering that not long before, he was still putting pressure on his son to pursue Western medicine. So to this day, I’m not sure how much he actually changed and whether he truly deserved that second chance.

Now, the female lead’s ex-boyfriend — Yan Heng. I wanted to strangle him through the screen. They absolutely ruined the character for me after Meteor Garden — I will never look at him the same way again. The way he was such a piece of shit while seeing himself as a prince on a white horse was insanely irritating. He broke up via text message, then came back like nothing had happened just to get revenge on her father? He couldn’t accept rejection and had the nerve to go to her parents and keep selling them bullshit about how he supposedly broke up with her “for her own good.” T R A S H.
Surprisingly, he eventually disappeared from her life and was never mentioned again — which on one hand makes me happy, and on the other makes me curious about what happened to him afterward.

Now for two questions / downsides.

First, the secondary couple — though I’m not even sure they truly counted as one. I’d rather say Xu Xiang Ya and Lin Yi Shen were more of a side pairing. And that makes me sad, because they were so wonderful that I really wanted more scenes focused on their relationship. I can’t even find one solid argument — I just wish their storyline had been developed more.

And the biggest downside for me — or rather, an unanswered question. Did the male lead really have a girlfriend in college who broke his heart, or was that just a lie made up by Fang Ke Xin? Why was this never explained? Why did they never talk about it? I thought that ex-girlfriend would show up at some point since she was mentioned — but it never happened. So did she actually exist at all?

Perfect for a modern drama!!

Zhang Ling He has done it again!!! This is what I look for in a perfect modern drama. I have such a bad problem with even getting into modern dramas because I find a lot of them so boring. Modern dramas will either include too much of the characters work life which most times they do it in such a boring matter. The best thing does include what they do at work but I did not find it boring at all or want to fast forward through it. A lot of the couples cute moments are also while they are working.

The love story between He Su Ye and Shen Xi Fan is the best thing to watch in this drama. The chemistry is amazing and I loved all their scenes together. I do look for cute love stories in a drama and I think this is up there with one of the best I have seen. There is no silly misunderstandings or love triangles. Even though this does start with the female lead being in a long term relationship with her ex (couldn't stand that guy). Her ex is something else and even though they could of had her ex cause problems when that is what he seemed like he wanted to do he didn't. He does stay out of her new relationship when he has found out she has moved on. I felt for the FL and what she went through with her ex and how she wasn't so sure about getting into another relationship after him. He Su Ye stays by her side and is so understanding when he finds out about her past. It's just hard of how you can't fall in love with their love story. It's The Best Thing!!!

Even toward the end where they do have her mom get sick. It does not take away from their story at all. That is what the ML because of what his mom went through has specialized in. The fact that he can be there to help her mom through this and also be there for the FL was so sweet, and the ending wedding scene was so beautiful. So in all if your a romance lover I think you could love this. There really isn't any drama in it which some may find boring but I actually found that so refreshing.

A Gentle Journey of Healing and Self-Love – The Best Thing (2025)

The Best Thing is a beautifully crafted Chinese drama that quietly stole my heart. At its core, it’s a tender and thoughtful story about healing, self-love, and the gentle unfolding of a healthy relationship. The series follows a woman who begins her journey emotionally broken, weighed down by past hurt and self-doubt. Over the span of more than a year, we watch her grow, rediscover her dreams, and ultimately learn to love herself, and in doing so, she begins to shine again.

What makes this drama stand out is its emotional depth and sincerity. It doesn’t rush its characters or their development. Instead, it offers a slow, comforting pace, giving space for growth, setbacks, and subtle joys. The male lead is refreshingly patient and grounded, a true “green flag”, offering support without ever overshadowing her personal journey. Their relationship blossoms gently, full of mutual respect and quiet moments of understanding.

Set against the backdrop of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the drama weaves in elements of wellness, holistic healing, and ancient wisdom. It’s not only entertaining but also informative, you might even pick up a few practical tips along the way. There’s something deeply soothing about watching characters brew herbal remedies, talk about balance, and find peace in everyday rituals.

The acting is stellar across the board. Every performance feels heartfelt and nuanced, adding authenticity to an already rich story. The leads have genuine chemistry, but even more than that, they portray a relationship that feels real, caring, respectful, and emotionally safe.

This is one of those rare dramas that makes you want to rewatch it the moment it ends. It’s cosy, uplifting, and emotionally resonant, a warm hug in drama form. If you’re looking for something wholesome that will leave you feeling healed and hopeful, The Best Thing is exactly that.

The final quote from the series captures its message perfectly:
“𝐻𝑜𝑝𝑒 𝑒𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑎 𝑔𝑜𝑜𝑑 ℎ𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑡 𝑐𝑎𝑛 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑎 𝑙𝑜𝑛𝑔-𝑙𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑔𝑎𝑝𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑙𝑖𝑓𝑒. 𝐼𝑓 𝑦𝑜𝑢 𝑐𝑎𝑛’𝑡 𝑓𝑖𝑛𝑑 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑠𝑜𝑛 𝑦𝑒𝑡, 𝑜𝑟 𝑦𝑜𝑢’𝑣𝑒 𝑙𝑜𝑠𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑔𝑒 𝑡𝑜 𝑠𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑐ℎ, 𝑖𝑡’𝑠 𝑜𝑘𝑎𝑦. 𝐿𝑒𝑎𝑟𝑛 𝑡𝑜 𝑙𝑜𝑣𝑒 𝑦𝑜𝑢𝑟𝑠𝑒𝑙𝑓 𝑓𝑖𝑟𝑠𝑡, 𝑚𝑜𝑟𝑒 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑦𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑠𝑒 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑤𝑜𝑟𝑙𝑑, 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑠𝑜𝑚𝑒𝑜𝑛𝑒 𝑤𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑎𝑝𝑝𝑒𝑎𝑟 𝑖𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑙𝑖𝑔ℎ𝑡 𝑠ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑡ℎ𝑟𝑜𝑢𝑔ℎ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑐𝑟𝑎𝑐𝑘.” — The Best Thing.

Highly recommended ❤️

10000/10!!!!

I just have to say—The Best Thing I Have Ever Done is one of the best romance dramas I’ve watched in a long time! Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan completely stole my heart with their chemistry. Every scene between them felt so real, like they weren’t even acting. The way they looked at each other, their little gestures, and the emotions in their eyes—everything was just chef’s kiss.

The storyline itself is super emotional, full of love, regrets, and second chances. It really makes you think about life and the choices we make. And don’t even get me started on the cinematography—the visuals are stunning, and the OST fits the mood perfectly.

Honestly, this drama gave me all the feels. I laughed, I cried, and I got so attached to the characters. And now that it’s over, all I can think about is how much I need Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan to work together again! Their chemistry is way too good to be a one-time thing. Someone, please cast them in another drama ASAP!

Loving you is the best thing I have done!

This is definitely- A MUST WATCH DRAMA!
*Cinematography- Best quality
*Actors/Actress- All are good looking
*Acting- Top notch
*Content- Just heart fluttering romance, love, care and kisses, no unnecessary drama, mature characters, positive uplifting, healing, peaceful, awareness about TMC and most important make you feel closer to nature. (All Sceneries are so beautiful, it all feels like dream land)
*OST- Best (It is calming my soul)
*Story Line- Nice plot with a proper closure of all characters. Nothing left at the end to be discussed about or question...it was a perfect end. (As a novel reader, this novel by Sheng Li was very good. But the drama writer- Ou Sijia who has already wrote some of my fav romance dramas like- Hidden Love and Love O2O, really made this drama to exceed the novel. This drama is more interesting and lovely.)
*Ending- As I said above it was perfect and I must say it was one the BESTEST ENDING I EVER SAW!!! (A beautiful happy ending)

I really cried in the end- Happy tears!

The messages about self love and being positive are really beautiful through out the story. I can really feel the love between the leads..like it is all real. Hoping in reality too everyone find their love and have a beautiful love story.

At last, if you are a sucker for romance dramas..this drama is for you!!

Enjoy :)

THE BEST THING INDEED

If I can give it more star I would!!!
For me this is everything:
Great chemistry (from the whole cast),
Great story (some stories don’t have to be heavy to be good, sometimes story about everyday life, about normal problem if packaged right, it will be a diamond).
Great songs (it is still playing on my playlist)
Great scenery
It is my ultimate healing drama, I have rewatched it every season
Thank you for the whole production team to present us such a wonderful drama

Loved this drama, was really sweet with no drama at all, just a pure love story with an amazing crew and the characters were gorgeous.

Story line was exceptional, everyone does deserve love, but loving yourself first is really good thing, for that is when you true self is reflected

The doctor role was nice and learnt a few things,

Overall a really agood sweet love story

A warm tea for lost souls.

I don't usually review the dramas I watch, but this time I will.

It's impressive how much we can relate to the characters through the details inserted in the script, we can clearly see their ideals and unique personalities. It shows that it's normal to be a young person and not have discovered everything you'd like to, or to already have a career in something and want to change.

The couple's relationship doesn't take a back seat; everyday life is really what heals the viewer. This is how I see love and hope to be able to love, in a calm and confident way. Both characters learned from each other how to be in a loving relationship, using respect and communication above all else.

I really liked the secondary characters like the lady at the hotel who gave precious advice that even I will remember for a long time, sometimes we just need someone out there to listen to us and that's all. Although I think the secondary couple could've been better developed (or had more screen time).

It was so healing to see Xi Fan’s family supporting each other and coming together. Parents really raise us for the world, so that we know how to be here even when they are not. Making our family proud is important, but we have to be proud of our own journey too.

It has personally become one of my favorites. Highly recommended, I hope more people can watch it and feel comforted.

This is the best drama that I’ve ever watched. I went through a very rough March and this drama brought a light to my life. It’s beautiful from the start to the finish. I’ve rewatched this countless times. I can write a 20 page essay on Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan’s talent and chemistry. They are pure magic together. Not to be dramatic but if I can see them in another drama together I will die happy. A must watch, a shout from the rooftop, heart happiness, nonstop smiling, pure bliss kind of drama.

Loved everything about this drama

Loved everything about it.
Found myself smiling from start to finish.
Very little, I found myself getting frustrated with.
Didn't have to skip any scenes.
Helped that the ML and FL looked good together.
Rarely watch a drama more than once due to the time commitment, but found myself planning to rewatch this even before it ended.

The Best Thing I've watched!

This drama is medicine for the Soul. It's so healing to watch.

I'm so glad this drama did not need too much over-the-top drama elements, and instead just focused on our main leads personal lives and growth, even showing the quiet moments in-between. I was dreading the big Break-up moment that so often happens in Romance dramas, and am glad it didn't need to happen here. Our leads are just so madly in-love with each other that I can never ever ever ever ever ever imagine when breaking up again. One of the very few romance dramas with an actual "Happily ever after ending", that no one can dispute.

I especially adored the quiet/dull scenes the most, it really lets the characters breathe and think things through before acting or speaking on anything. Also lets the viewer see what the character is feeling at the moment. Just that alone, made the characters feel way more real and relatable to the viewer. I wish more dramas would learn from this and implement similar details. You shouldn't have to shy away from showing dull moments in stories, because real life can be dull sometimes too.

I thoroughly loved and enjoyed every single second of this drama. Will be rewatching this several times over in the future for sure! Fantastic Cast, Fantastic Acting, Fantastic Story and Visuals, Fantastic Music, Fantastic Story & Message 10/10
