Healing Romance that will stay and heal in your Heart for very very long time

I write this review on Sunday afternoon of 25.3.9 because on the evening,I have to attend the Wedding of our beloved Dr.He and Xi Fan together with my friends in ''Happy Best Club''.

I write this review from my pov and experiences.

First of all, I started to read novel when it was confirmed as ZLH next project.
The first time I read the novel of this genre that had simple plot line with many TCM knowledges. At that time many novel readers and passerby fans had not much expectation for drama adaptation.

Time flied quickly, the anticipation for this project was mainly remained in the fan circle. Many people expected '' The Best Thing '' would be another Idol filled in drama with low budget that can't /shouldn't compete with other big projects.

However, the first time I saw the news about it was broadcasted on Jiangsu Satellite TV and Airing date on 25.2.25(the special meaningful Date),
I knew "The Best Thing" would go against all odds and broke the prejudices and expectations it was tagged before.

The storyline itself resonates in me in very deep spiritual ways. From losing someone due to breast cancer to being dumped by phone from long-term bf, you can't imagine how much healing I got from this drama. And as a person who had have anxiety and insomnia problems, the TCM parts involved in the drama gave the insight knowledges and helpful for healthy living.

And this is the first time,as a ZLH fan, I have the Best experience of chasing a drama. The Best Co-stars,the Best drama team, the Best treatment plus the Best watching experience together with the Best lovely people all over the platforms.

For the ladies and girls ,they said it is hard to find someone like Dr.He who is only fictional and never exist in real world.
Don't worry,as Ling He said, He Su Ye is a mirror, love yourself well,he will be in front of you .
Yes, we don't need to find somebody desperately.Instead how about becoming that somebody ourselves.Spreading love, healing and happiness to ourselves and our society and our world.

"My world become bright because you are bright"
"All our days are filled with lololove and sunshine"
Thank you everyone for bringing the Best drama to our life, the drama you will revisit in every Springtime.
After all,
"Loving you is the Best Thing I have ever done".

Love you allπŸ’–πŸ’–Have a nice day and the Best lifeπŸ’–πŸ’–*πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–πŸ’–

It’s been a long while since I’ve watch a series that is just so pleasant. Everything from the story line to the cast. The way the ML looks at the FL is just so mesmerizing. I can sit here and watch and smile to myself like an idiot. ML is just soooo handsome. He is just so pleasant to look at😍

Beautiful romance about healing

The drama explores the life and romance of Shen Xi Fan who has past trauma and insomnia from a bad relationship. She seeks TCM medicine from a local clinic where she meets He Su Ye the handsome doctor who prescribes her herbal remedies and treatments to clam her mind and relax her sleep. She encounters some difficult decisions about her career and relationships past and present whilst trying to maintain a professional appearance at her job despite her ex paying her an unpleasant surprise visit.

This is a very beautiful relaxing and healing drama where the main couple are very sweet and caring. there are some ups and downs but these are understandable as the FL is struggling with commitment and opening herself up to another man. Seeing her overcome her hardships and slowly accept He Su Ye is heartwarming and makes for a cozy drama to unwind at the end of a long day.

This is a romance I dream of experiencing in real life, its so wholesome and pure, leaving you with a warm fuzzy feeling.

Cute, relaxing yet created curiosity

Love the Zhang Ling He (ML) & Xue Ruo Han (FL) to begin with.
Their acting are very fitted with the character in this story. Other supporting actors also act pretty good.
A bit slow plot but very sweet relationship and make me happy and giggles to watch.
Just watched until 9 episode, still far but will continue watching.

Dreamily beautiful

Keeping it short, I love everything about this drama. This is my 4th Cdrama and I wasn't disappointed at all.

Stunning visuals of the main leads, good chemistry, simple but realistic storyline and a colorful setting......I like how they incorporated the TCM into the story. Whereas before, I was always skeptical about TCM, I find myself wanting to learn more about it.

This is definitely one of the Best Things I've watched so far this year

I just watched the drama .... I love the story , the plot , the cinematography, the music , the side characters, the main leads acting were great specially Zhang linghe did justice to the role ..... He played the role sooo well .... I just feel like the female lead didn't do justice to the role ..... Being an emotional person I cry my eyes out whenever there's an emotional scene , this drama have many emotional and crying scene yet I didn't cry one single time .... I just couldn't connect with the character ... Feel her emotions.... Most of the time in drama where she should have shown some expressions her face wash blank ...... For me the drama was good 8.5 ... But if the female lead was played by some other actress like zhao lusi , zhang miaoyi or Liu hao Cun I feel like than the drama would be a 10 for me ......

Definitely a must watch for me ?

As someone who's more into action, tragedies and mysterious plotsβ€”this drama brought a relaxing and refreshing vibe to my mind!

At first, I was reluctant to watch this because I'm not really into fluff dramas and light series, but because of ZLH, I still proceeded to watch. Initially, I was expecting to get bored somewhere in the middle of the storyβ€”but I don't know if it's the glowing visuals, the tranquil vibes or the cute ost that kept my hooked up and made me stay up all night just to finish the whole series in one night!

The light vibes, the maturity of the characters and the cute, fluffy scenes hooked me and will definitely keep me coming back to rewatch the whole series. . . I wish I could watch this again like my first time,, definitely a must-watch

A very pleasant and comforting series to watch.

Here we follow the transformation of the female lead β€” Shen Xi Fan β€” who at the very beginning is stuck in a toxic relationship. Her boyfriend treats her like trash, tries to blame her for everything wrong in his life, and keeps her on a leash. Later, she meets the male lead, her relationship finally ends, and thanks to He Su Ye, she begins to learn what real love actually is.
He Su Ye himself is a massive green flag. From start to finish, he was incredible support for her and made her genuinely happy. The fact that she needed time never discouraged him. He simply stayed by her side and showed her true love with his whole being. Watching them happy together was beautiful, and their relationship was extremely sweet. There wasn’t even a hint of toxicity here. They supported each other deeply, even during difficult moments. There were no arguments after they got together, which made the whole thing very comfortable and enjoyable to watch. On top of that, they had amazing chemistry. They were a joy to look at, and their kisses were HOT.

A huge plus also goes to the female lead’s parents and the male lead’s grandfather. All three were wonderful characters, and most scenes with them made me smile β€” or cry, when her mom got sick. I have mixed feelings about the male lead’s father. On the one hand, I was happy when the female lead initiated their reconciliation (for a moment I was afraid he would oppose their relationship), because watching him, I felt like he had truly changed and understood that he hadn’t always been a good husband to his wife in the past. On the other hand, I kept remembering that not long before, he was still putting pressure on his son to pursue Western medicine. So to this day, I’m not sure how much he actually changed and whether he truly deserved that second chance.

Now, the female lead’s ex-boyfriend β€” Yan Heng. I wanted to strangle him through the screen. They absolutely ruined the character for me after Meteor Garden β€” I will never look at him the same way again. The way he was such a piece of shit while seeing himself as a prince on a white horse was insanely irritating. He broke up via text message, then came back like nothing had happened just to get revenge on her father? He couldn’t accept rejection and had the nerve to go to her parents and keep selling them bullshit about how he supposedly broke up with her β€œfor her own good.” T R A S H.
Surprisingly, he eventually disappeared from her life and was never mentioned again β€” which on one hand makes me happy, and on the other makes me curious about what happened to him afterward.

Now for two questions / downsides.

First, the secondary couple β€” though I’m not even sure they truly counted as one. I’d rather say Xu Xiang Ya and Lin Yi Shen were more of a side pairing. And that makes me sad, because they were so wonderful that I really wanted more scenes focused on their relationship. I can’t even find one solid argument β€” I just wish their storyline had been developed more.

And the biggest downside for me β€” or rather, an unanswered question. Did the male lead really have a girlfriend in college who broke his heart, or was that just a lie made up by Fang Ke Xin? Why was this never explained? Why did they never talk about it? I thought that ex-girlfriend would show up at some point since she was mentioned β€” but it never happened. So did she actually exist at all?

Perfect for a modern drama!!

Zhang Ling He has done it again!!! This is what I look for in a perfect modern drama. I have such a bad problem with even getting into modern dramas because I find a lot of them so boring. Modern dramas will either include too much of the characters work life which most times they do it in such a boring matter. The best thing does include what they do at work but I did not find it boring at all or want to fast forward through it. A lot of the couples cute moments are also while they are working.

The love story between He Su Ye and Shen Xi Fan is the best thing to watch in this drama. The chemistry is amazing and I loved all their scenes together. I do look for cute love stories in a drama and I think this is up there with one of the best I have seen. There is no silly misunderstandings or love triangles. Even though this does start with the female lead being in a long term relationship with her ex (couldn't stand that guy). Her ex is something else and even though they could of had her ex cause problems when that is what he seemed like he wanted to do he didn't. He does stay out of her new relationship when he has found out she has moved on. I felt for the FL and what she went through with her ex and how she wasn't so sure about getting into another relationship after him. He Su Ye stays by her side and is so understanding when he finds out about her past. It's just hard of how you can't fall in love with their love story. It's The Best Thing!!!

Even toward the end where they do have her mom get sick. It does not take away from their story at all. That is what the ML because of what his mom went through has specialized in. The fact that he can be there to help her mom through this and also be there for the FL was so sweet, and the ending wedding scene was so beautiful. So in all if your a romance lover I think you could love this. There really isn't any drama in it which some may find boring but I actually found that so refreshing.

A Gentle Journey of Healing and Self-Love – The Best Thing (2025)

The Best Thing is a beautifully crafted Chinese drama that quietly stole my heart. At its core, it’s a tender and thoughtful story about healing, self-love, and the gentle unfolding of a healthy relationship. The series follows a woman who begins her journey emotionally broken, weighed down by past hurt and self-doubt. Over the span of more than a year, we watch her grow, rediscover her dreams, and ultimately learn to love herself, and in doing so, she begins to shine again.

What makes this drama stand out is its emotional depth and sincerity. It doesn’t rush its characters or their development. Instead, it offers a slow, comforting pace, giving space for growth, setbacks, and subtle joys. The male lead is refreshingly patient and grounded, a true β€œgreen flag”, offering support without ever overshadowing her personal journey. Their relationship blossoms gently, full of mutual respect and quiet moments of understanding.

Set against the backdrop of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the drama weaves in elements of wellness, holistic healing, and ancient wisdom. It’s not only entertaining but also informative, you might even pick up a few practical tips along the way. There’s something deeply soothing about watching characters brew herbal remedies, talk about balance, and find peace in everyday rituals.

The acting is stellar across the board. Every performance feels heartfelt and nuanced, adding authenticity to an already rich story. The leads have genuine chemistry, but even more than that, they portray a relationship that feels real, caring, respectful, and emotionally safe.

This is one of those rare dramas that makes you want to rewatch it the moment it ends. It’s cosy, uplifting, and emotionally resonant, a warm hug in drama form. If you’re looking for something wholesome that will leave you feeling healed and hopeful, The Best Thing is exactly that.

The final quote from the series captures its message perfectly:

10000/10!!!!

I just have to sayβ€”The Best Thing I Have Ever Done is one of the best romance dramas I’ve watched in a long time! Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan completely stole my heart with their chemistry. Every scene between them felt so real, like they weren’t even acting. The way they looked at each other, their little gestures, and the emotions in their eyesβ€”everything was just chef’s kiss.

The storyline itself is super emotional, full of love, regrets, and second chances. It really makes you think about life and the choices we make. And don’t even get me started on the cinematographyβ€”the visuals are stunning, and the OST fits the mood perfectly.

Honestly, this drama gave me all the feels. I laughed, I cried, and I got so attached to the characters. And now that it’s over, all I can think about is how much I need Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan to work together again! Their chemistry is way too good to be a one-time thing. Someone, please cast them in another drama ASAP!

Loving you is the best thing I have done!

This is definitely- A MUST WATCH DRAMA!
*Cinematography- Best quality
*Actors/Actress- All are good looking
*Acting- Top notch
*Content- Just heart fluttering romance, love, care and kisses, no unnecessary drama, mature characters, positive uplifting, healing, peaceful, awareness about TMC and most important make you feel closer to nature. (All Sceneries are so beautiful, it all feels like dream land)
*OST- Best (It is calming my soul)
*Story Line- Nice plot with a proper closure of all characters. Nothing left at the end to be discussed about or question...it was a perfect end. (As a novel reader, this novel by Sheng Li was very good. But the drama writer- Ou Sijia who has already wrote some of my fav romance dramas like- Hidden Love and Love O2O, really made this drama to exceed the novel. This drama is more interesting and lovely.)
*Ending- As I said above it was perfect and I must say it was one the BESTEST ENDING I EVER SAW!!! (A beautiful happy ending)

I really cried in the end- Happy tears!

The messages about self love and being positive are really beautiful through out the story. I can really feel the love between the leads..like it is all real. Hoping in reality too everyone find their love and have a beautiful love story.

At last, if you are a sucker for romance dramas..this drama is for you!!

Enjoy :)
