true loves brings you peace and encourages you to become the best version of yourself

It's been a months since I finished my latest c-drama and The Best Thing is pulling me out of my slump.

I really love the simple plot, the only bad guy we have is the FL's ex, but the messages themselves made the drama very heartwarming. Two adults falling in love with each other despite their flaws and worries, and they really show that to make it work, you must communicate, you must put effort to each other, so the relationship is balanced. All the characters are having their own important roles, no annoying or unnecessary characters.

The chinese traditional medicine plot gave me new knowledge and i became interested to try them for my health lol.

This is my first drama of Xu Rouhan, she's very very pretty and she has a very pretty smile. I like her acting. While, this is my second Linghe's drama, since Love Between Fairy and Devil and he didn't really catch my attention there. But here, he really shined! He looks so so good with those glasses and soo charming. They both have good chemistry.

Overall this is a very sweet watch (even tho some parts were kinda boring but its tolerable!) and very heartwarming.

It's cliche but hear me out ?

First of all, this kind of storyline is we already know it. From your local dramas to international ones, we all know it. But the way the actors expressed this? Their emotions? Their way of portraying their characters? GIRL, I THOUGHT THIS HAPPENED TO THEM IN REAL LIFE STOPPPP

And the scenes? THE SCENIC SCENES? STOP WHO IS THE CREATIVE DIRECTOR OR SOMETHING WHO IS IT? They didn't spare any penny; they literally justified the common storyline and served us great backgrounds, not just CGIs or backdrops or studio-built settings. For me, this was the cream, the cherry, the apple to my pie y'all.

The music is so cute, fitting to the scenes played ✨ (𝘓𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐'𝘭𝘭 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘥𝘰 ~)

Will definitely re-watch after a heartbreaking Xianxia 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️

The best drama

This drama is definitely a healer... It just goes on smoothly without any misunderstandings, tensions, childish behaviors ... The concept is a unique one where they've shown the love story using flowers tulips.. itz a visual treat on screen.... Also the medical herbs and their uses shown are very knowledgeable... And I've tried some of them... The makers did a thorough research on several medical herbs... The hardwork is paid off... And major highlight is both the leads are greenflags♥️♥️♥️

Interesting Change for Romance Dramas

Instantly knew I would enjoy this drama as the cozy vibes are off the scale. While the seasons focus of the drama is a bit cliché, I feel like it suits the message of the drama well.we'll.

Both leads are incredibly attractive in their own ways, and Ruohan has impeccable acting skills. However, I felt that Linghe's acting wasn't always completely believable. While the tension was undeniably high in the first half of the drama, I felt as though the chemistry was a bit lackluster after they actually got together. However, their relationship was still clearly feel-good & romantic, so I was happy regardless.

I think the focus on TCM was very interesting, and I felt almost compelled to research more into it. I like that each episode started with a different TCM medicinal ingredient.

I was glad to see that Xifan had her own ambitions in life and did not compromise them for a man. The focus on individuality in this drama was really nice, although with the slightly underdeveloped ending I felt that it could have been emphasized even more.

I did not like the almost unconsentual kiss scene, and the way that they brushed it off as some cute puppy love moment.

I grew to enjoy the side characters more than the main characters at some points during this drama. Xiangya and Senior Lin were great friends and their chemistry was also cute, despite not having as much development. I also loved the family of the leads.

Overall, this was such a cozy, feel-good watch. Despite having some gripes, I loved getting attached to all of these characters!

(P.S. Don't look at my rematch value rating. I rarely ever rematch dramas. ^^)

A Perfect Mind Refreshing & Soothing Romcom with Charming ML & FL?

• A Refreshing and Healing Romance
I don't even know where to start, but I have to share how I felt about this drama.
• He Suye (Zhang Linge)
The male lead, He Suye, is one of the greenest flags I've seen in a drama in a long time! He looked absolutely gorgeous in his doctor's white coat. I loved how he fell for her at first sight but didn't push things. He gave her space and advice and never tried to control her career decisions, (which is something a lot of male leads doesn't do in other dramas). He won her heart slowly and never made her feel pressured, even after she rejected him. This showed the maturity of his character. He was always honest about his feelings and had everything most of us girls want in a partner.
• Shen Xifan (Xu Ruohan)
Shen Xifan is a beautiful, talented, and independent woman with a simple elegance. What I liked most about her is that she never sacrificed her dreams for her boyfriend or family. She was confident in her career and seized opportunities, which is a welcome change from many dramas where the female lead gives up on her dreams because of her parents.
• Their Relationship
The development of their relationship was one of the most enjoyable parts of the show. Suye was not just a boyfriend; he was also a good friend to Xifan. He helped boost her confidence when she was hesitant about going abroad and gave her time when she first rejected him—a true green flag! I loved all the kiss scenes and how she actively participated instead of just standing there like a statue. They complemented each other so well. They understood one another, worked through their issues, and had a very healthy relationship!
• About this drama : This drama is a perfect rom-com with no toxic characters, unnecessary breakups, or other typical drama tropes.
• Scenery and Themes
The locations and scenery were some of the most beautiful and soothing I've ever seen. I especially loved the hotels area and the scenic routes to Xifan, Xiangya, and Senior Lin's hotel. I took so many screenshots of those locations!
I also did some research on Chinese medicine after watching the show, and I found it fascinating. I loved how the drama included the benefits of various Chinese medicine elements at the beginning of each episode. It was also great that they gave proper screen time and respect to both leads' professions. We saw Shen Xifan as a responsible hotel manager and He Suye as a wonderful doctor.
• Conclusion : I honestly can't think of anything I didn't like about this drama. I enjoyed every single episode. As a rom-com fan, this is definitely one of my favorite "mind-healing" dramas.

Beautifiul and healing

not the best but definitely not the worst,
one of the most beautiful and heartwarming cdramas i've seen in 2025 so far tho!

what i liked:
The story:
its so realistic man. often with dramas they try to come up with the most bizzare out of the world way for the leads to meet and end up but this one? felt so natural and real.
i at first thought it was a ''love at first sight'' thing which i don't really dig, but it started as a little crush from the ML's side and blossoming into such a healthy relationship, felt so real no pushy situations that felt off just to push the leads together.
-The OSTs:
every song is so catchy and absolutely beautiful, definitely going into my playlist.
-The cinematography:
idk how to explain it but its filmed like a kdrama, every scene is so beautifully shot and holds great meaning, gave me a sense of calm.
-The leads:
goddammit both the leads are such green flags! usually you see the ML giving his all in a rls but in this the FL is setting the standards hella high as well!!
-The side characters:
so positive and funny, loved MLs fellow doctor in the hospital his grandpa, FLs friends and her parents!!

however:
-The chemistry:
it was GREAT don't get me wrong, but at times felt a bit dry and awkward, both the actors are great and talented,at times i was even giggling and kicking my feet y'know. but nothing extremely memorable, still very beautiful and inspiring .
-2nd couple:
loved them SOOOO much even with so little screen time they were adorable, just wished they gave their rls more development, still liked how nothing else interfered in the leads relationship.
-The ex-bf:
the infamous jackass:
his character felt out of place even though hes the reason FL has insomnia in the first place, wish they explored his character, his reasons for his actions and stuff, would've made us feel for the FL even more but meh.

overall:
watch this when you're traumatized or tired of toxic plots, its very healing and inspiring.
solid 8/10

a lighthearted love story with a bit of angst

really enjoyed this drama. it’s not the story i usually watch since it’s such a lighthearted drama, but there where definitely some teary moments. it’s really a healing drama. also to learn about TMC was so interesting.
It was also very beautiful filmed, the producer did amazing!

ml and fl also look super good together, the chemistry was amazing and the kiss scenes where perfect not boring at all.

if you’re into more soft yet a bit angsty (but healing) story i definitely recommend this drama.

A Pure Delight

No need to add marshmallows to this warm cup of choco. This is a genuine heart-warmer. The plot is mid, but if you ever been in a broken relationship, this drama will prove to be cathartic. Good vibes all the way thanks to great acting, luscious imagery and strong chemistry between the leads.

Aside from an ex-boyfriend, who appears rather briefly, there is no central, captivating antagonist and the second leads are more of an afterthought. The dynamics of the drama center on the leads and that's okay. They hit it out of the ballpark. The FL is the same one from Perfect and Casual and again brings that same level of casual, pristine beauty to this role. Whether it is her endearing smile or teary gaze, she elicits a wide range of deep emotions.

There are also no Mary or Johnny Sues here. Just imperfect and hurt young adults trying to give romance another try. The secondary characters are lovely but I must take exception with the FL's dad who perpetuates the cliche of the emasculated, bumbling husband who is only known as the guy who cooks dinners, gets screamed at by the wife, and has little to say or hardly offers any leadership or agency in the family (Meet Yourself also comes to mind). It's turning into a cliche.

Thankfully, the ML is not the CEO tired trope (neither a doctor nor lawyer, for that matter), but a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor and I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about this side of Chinese culture. Glad to see dramas showing more diverse professions and facets of life. My main misgiving about the ML is that he asked the FL to hang out at his apartment at first rather than go for a cup of joe. In real life that wouldn't fly. No self-respecting girl would hang at a dude's apartment from the get-go and if she does, that'd be a big red flag. Other than that, the ML was for the most part patient, level-headed and humble, adding layers to what could have been mishandled as just another one-dimensional, always-confident hunk lacking any depth. Like Meet Yourself, this drama is worth a rewatch just as when you need warm tea on a cold night.

(FL): personality is as exciting as box of Kleenex. Boo

FL portrayal was pretty awful - boring, weak, just a ragdoll of simpering, weepy, boring, codependent, can’t take care of herself and (literally) needs mommy daddy boyfriend to do it all character. It’s extremely cringey in that way. She’s a 20-something adult. The character has 0% charisma, intelligence, humor…she’s attractive, but not blow your mind pretty eye candy or anything. Nobody’s going to war for her lol.

Other characters good. Liked the traditional medicine aspect a lot. ML was good - character was portrayed well as gentle, intelligent, bookish, thoughtful.

"Loving You Is The Best Thing I've Ever Done" ~ A Heartwarming Love Story

Honestly, this is one of the best modern dramas I've ever watched. Funny because the only reason I started watching this is because I had nothing else to watch. So how did something I didn't have any interest in suddenly become one of the best? Well, read on!

I'm gonna start my review with why I named this review what I named it. So "loving you is the best thing I've ever done" is actually a verse in the OST "The Best Thing." This OST is featured in this drama and I thought it was a great way to express the message of this drama, which I think is just going for love even when you think it might not work out. I added heartwarming because this really is a really heartwarming drama and my heart melted while watching this!

- The Cast
I already know Zhang Ling He from previous dramas and I know how good his acting skills are. Although it is my first time watching Xu Ruo Han I have to say that she's pretty good. Her acting skills are great and she and Zhang Ling He seemed to match perfectly on-screen.
I haven't seen the rest of the cast in other dramas but they were absolutely phenomenal as well! I really enjoyed watching Tang Jiu Zhou as Li Jie, he was so fun to watch during the little humor scenes and when he would stumble upon He Su Ye and Shen Xi Fan together!

- Setting and Costumes
The tree that was seen in their neighborhood all the time was just drop-dead gorgeous! Also the whole city was just so cozy and in-vibe. My favorite setting is definitely the Herbal Garden though! Their outfits were also really nice and had great style.

- Love and Romance
This was truly the best part of the drama. The whole plot really focuses on all the couples instead of just the main couple. The romance was truly top-notch and so sweet!

Like a gentle breeze

A very soothing, gentle, warm and healing drama.
Music matches the gentle tone of drama. Beautifully captured shots. Loved how healthy relations are portrayed. Good chemistry.

Not much eventful story and slow at times.
But definitely worth a watch, a heartwarming experience.
Solid 8.0❤️
