The best thing one of the best C-dramas ever!✨

Okay so this will be my first review so don't judge me. First of all I don't know why but I didn't watch it from the beginning like the month that it was released,I have watched 'Perfect and casual' (one of my fav C-drama)and I have to say that Xu Ruohan is more matured now and this role of "The best thing" suits her very well! For me The best thing=Spring, the vibes are so srping mood, with the flowers and bouquets. And it's realistic not too delulu or cringe. The male lead he is just perfect he is the greenest flag ever!He is not pressure her to move on from her ex or to like him & date him immediately after the break up.The female lead she's very cute and kind, she is not overreacting or drama queen with her ex.And she is mature and not cringe. Moreover their misunderstanding was only 2 episodes which is fine! Also her two friends that work with her at the hotel are very adorable,I love them and their chemistry!!!When they are on break and drink bubble times it's my favorite scene! They are so cute together, one of the best second leads couple with no doubt! Her parents are very supportive and her mum's illness is very understandable and suits the plot and not a side plot that we don't care. The co-workers of the main male lead are so funny with him when he is in a good mood.As for her nasty boyfriend the thing with the break up was quickly (thank God not like others Chinese dramas) and he didn't cause a lot of drama. The security is also so nice and kind! The stories of the patients was so touching. In addition, the doctors Zhou Yi Ru (Fang Ke Xin) she is so cute and Tang Jiu Zhou (Li Jie), I love his voice!I love how the main male lead isn't jealous of her ex or of her male best friend. Please give a prize to the stylist like the outfits are dazzling, they match the spring vibes so much! The grandma that stays at the hotel was also so kind and nice I love her and it wasn't an unnecessary story. His grandpa is very kind, wise and nice. He's like his dad, otherwise his dad I didn't liked him from the first eps he's the "annoying" character in this series.I love how in the 28 eps in the wedding day they came everyone; the grandma from the hotel, the security, all their friends and co-workers and also the little patient with cancer has now recover omg. And finally the co-worker of him, has girlfriend her coworker yay! Their wedding was wonderful and unforgettable. I have watched so many wedding Chinese drama but this one is one to remember and it's so lovely!!!Thank you to the writer, the director, the actors, and all the staffs that worked for this amazing drama!

If its meant to be it will be

I never liked typical drama with typical plot but this, got me hooked! First of all the saying “if its meant to be it will be” fits them so much! It started of with FL going to the clinic because she suffered insomnia but who knows the was the doctor. Of course its the typical same old “fate” but somehow in this scenario it fits perfectly.

With the daily appointments FL had, the ML soon became interested and thats where the story unwraps. It shows how ML and FL fell for each other. I like how its not too slow but its not too fast. They fall at the right moment and ML is a SUPERRR green flag. He respected her and waited for her to get her emotions and feelings together. He accepted the rejection as he knew she needed time to heal. He didn’t rush her nor did he gave up. Eventhough he didn’t want her to go abroad, he respected her decision and supported her too.

FL and ML the two people with different profession met and somehow they fit each other perfectly. Overall, i would say i enjoyed the story. For me personally, eventhough it has the typical “ML fell for her because he is this this” i still enjoyed it hehe.

THE BEST THING EVER!

"Loving you is the best thing I've ever done."

I always love when there's a title drop; it really just fulfills the whole experience of watching/reading something.

I truly love how romance and relationships were portrayed in this drama. It all felt so healthy and comforting, that it really makes me hope for a love like this. He Suye, despite being a cunning and scheming type with his advances/flirting on Shen Xifan, never did disrepect Xifan's personal struggles and choices which were a contrast to her past relationship— truly the best thing that happened.

This is so "All These and More" album by The Ridleys coded! I am so not normal about them— I love this couple and this drama so much! Definitely something I'd rewatch whenever I am feeling hopeless romantic.

PS. This drama made me fell inlove with Zhang Linghe and he fr need more modern roles!! Also, the chemistry is so top-tier that I couldn't bring myself to watch Our Generation, but Pursuit of Jade truly hooked me (for me that's his best historical/costume drama look)

Love can heal someone's soul. Especially self love.

The Best Thing gives us a sense of warmth from start to finish. From the first episodes to the last ones it feels like a full circle moment of healing, just like how life is. We first meet Shen Xifan when she's struggling, hurting and lost. You might think He Suye is her cure or her salvation but no, he is just a glimpse of hope, a ray of sunlight. And sometimes that's all we need to find our own courage to step out of darkness and embrace a fulfilling life.

Their relationship is solid and well built, the cinematography is beautiful, the side conflicts make sense and (fortunately) don't last long. By the end they introduced a plot that wasn't really necessary in my pov but it also gets a round ending so it's okay.

Get yourself a cup of tea, be comfy and enjoy The Best Thing with an open heart. It will be worthy.

It was The Best Thing

It was definitely the best thing I have EVER watched. Never seen a plot like this. The drama was so emotional mature it felt like a slap in the face after watching so many modern dramas.
Wish my doctor was that hot jajajaj
And the parents of FL, they were so healthy. Love that they were so supportive and protective of their own daughter. I was so done with abusive or dead parents.
I love how there was a poem for every episode and how every tea had its meaning.
It was very beautiful how using herbs can be used to heal and soothe the person.

My Healing Series?

This movie teaches you how to love yourself and has the power to truly heal those who are hurt by love. So I recommend that you watch this movie at least once. I dare say that after watching it once, you will want to watch it again and again. This movie teaches you to love yourself and has the power to truly heal those who are hurt by love. So I recommend that you watch this movie at least once. I dare say that after watching it once, you will want to watch it again and again. The acting of the actors and actresses is also completely natural and enjoyable to watch. The film carefully portrays traditional Chinese medicine, so I believe that if you watch this movie, it will truly heal both your emotional and physical wounds.

The Best Thing: A Soft, Beautiful Journey of Healing and Serenity

The Best Thing is one of those rare series that seem designed to soothe the soul. From the very first minutes, you are enveloped in a sense of gentleness, kindness, and a kind of quiet serenity that flows through every episode. It is a modern romance that never seeks spectacle; instead, it chooses delicacy, attention to detail, and the emotional power of small gestures, glances, and silences.

The direction, refined and thoughtful, plays a central role in shaping this atmosphere. The framing is meticulous, the lighting soft, the color palette warm without ever feeling artificial. The cinematography is unusually beautiful for a contemporary drama: every scene feels crafted to convey an emotion rather than simply fill space. You can sense a desire to create a visual cocoon, a place where you breathe a little easier.

The soundtrack, discreet yet perfectly chosen, reinforces this ambiance with remarkable precision. The musical themes extend the emotions without ever overwhelming them. It’s an OST that lingers in your mind — not because it is grand or dramatic, but because it is coherent, sensitive, and deeply aligned with the tone of the story.

The two lead actors are one of the series’ greatest strengths. Their natural beauty, never ostentatious, harmonizes perfectly with the softness of the narrative. Their acting, restrained and nuanced, brings unexpected depth to a story that could have felt ordinary in the hands of lesser performers. Their chemistry is subtle, believable, almost soothing. You feel as though you are watching two people truly grow, heal, and open up.

What stands out most is the constant benevolence that permeates the entire drama. No toxicity, no artificial conflicts, no forced melodrama. The Best Thing chooses sincerity, tenderness, and a deliberately gentle pace. It is a series that comforts, that calms, that restores something inside you.

And when the final episode arrives, a soft nostalgia settles in: you simply don’t want it to end.
You want to stay a little longer in this warm universe, with these luminous characters, inside this bubble of calm and beauty.

It's like a warm hug in a picturesque landscape

Loved it! Definitely high rewatch value between periods. This drama feels like a beautiful warm hug, in a picturesque landscape, that makes one feed safe & content. it reinstates belief in the simple, good things in life. Loved the acting of both the mals & female leads. There's happiness & zen here, that leaves me smiling long after the scenes/episodes are over. There were times when I didn't want the drama to end - I delayed watching the end episodes just to live in the warm zone a little longer.

Literally such a light-hearted and comforting drama

This beats wifty (when I fly towards you) and hidden love imo, fight with the wall. Everything in this drama is almost perfect. Shen Xifan had a really bad relationship with Yan Heng, especially since he was always 'busy' and always out of the country, kind of like a long distance relationship but with no effort at all.

I'm also glad that the director didn't speed up their story, especially since it wasn't realistic to be heartbroken for just a few days and find a new partner in the next. I actually got mad when Xifan rejected Suye in ep. 13, but considering she was going to Swiss to study for masters, and the fact that she ALSO got out and deal out of a toxic relationship made it a very exceptional reason as to why she FELT like she had to reject Suye.

Overall, I'm glad He Suye treated her SO much better than Yan Heng, and I'm also glad that Xifan was able to stand up for herself, had her own voice, and most importantly didn't depend on Suye so much like y/n or some shit. A 10/10 for me tbh but ofc I have to be realistic, so a 9.5

Cute Chinese medicine practitioner heals both body and soul

**Top Notes**
A very green flag male lead heals a heartbroken girl. It's slow and simple without too many complications. The biggest barrier between the leads is themselves.

It's your classic mellow, heart-warming drama. The male lead is VERY caring and thoughtful.

**Middle Notes**
Some people might find it slow, but I think it shows how thoughtful he is, always going at her pace and being considerate of her emotional state. The drama didn't emphasize it, but she was going through a tough time and could definitely be scared off if he approached too aggressively.

I personally like the pacing because it felt like 2 individually happy people coming together. Both their lives were centered around family and career until their lives collided and they brought that joy to each other, him a little more than her. No silly misunderstandings and realistic communication; not perfect, but they're communicating.

They kept He Suye's backstory short to keep it simple, and I'm glad they did that. It really highlighted what a great person he is because he had his own trauma and problems, but he never burdened her with them. He's able to handle his own problems and has the capacity to support her as well.

The drama's visual aesthetic was very beautiful, a fusion of traditional Chinese visuals and modern aesthetics. I personally love modernized traditional Chinese styles, so this was a feast for my eyes. It matched the theme perfectly, as this is a modern romance with a backdrop of traditional Chinese medicine and culture.

The last time I watched Xu Ruohan was in Perfect and Casual, and her character there was different from The Best Thing. It was nice seeing her in a more mature role, and she's gotten better at expressing complex emotions.

Zhang Linghe's face card is still lethal. He did well with He Suye and had great chemistry with Xu Ruohan. Their sharper features also look great together.

**Base Notes**
THANK YOU FOR KEEPING THE EX'S PLOT SHORT. This drama is about healing and would have been annoying if the ex kept coming back to traumatize her and cause miscommunication. I like that they stuck to the theme the whole time and just let everyone heal and live quietly.

He Suye is not real. Ima tell you now, men like this don't exist. I have not met a single Chinese medicine practitioner below the age of 40. Men also do not wait months for you to heal from heartbreak before pursuing you cautiously. They also DO get mad when you give mixed signals before rejecting them, just to take it back again.

I will be rewatching this one.

ZHANG LINGHE & XU RUOHAN FOREVERRR

Drama That's Made to Be Loved
This show doesn’t scream at you—it whispers. And that whisper stays with you. The storytelling is minimal but meaningful, with every episode adding emotional depth. The acting feels effortless. He Suye and Shen Xifan have the kind of love story that feels lived-in, not scripted. LingHe and Ruohan clearly trust each other as actors, and that trust shows. They glow together. It’s rare, it’s beautiful, and honestly… it better not be just acting. They are endgame in my heart.

HOPE THEY HAVE ANOTHER PROJECT TOGETHER, XU RUOHAN ZHANG LINGHE FOREVER !!! <33
