The best thing has special place in my heart.
Drama is about girl who is suffering from insomnia die to some reasons.
Then after trying so many method to cure insomnia
Nothing worked out
So she decided to try another form of treatment
And went to traditional Chinese clinic where she meet our male lead who is traditional Chinese doctor who specializes in acupuncture and other things.
Story is all about healing oneself cultivating relationship with each other,it's fluffy and has no stupid misunderstandings that last ten episodes or so.theres also no stupid ex who pesters her for fifteen episodes haha (there is ex but that issue gets resolved quickly).
I'm really not used to writing big sentences, much less reviews.because I often struggle to find right words to describe what I watched and liked about show properly... Even then I believe u guys will like this if you are looking for relaxing drama after watching something complex with some tragic elements in it

Watching this drama was the best thing I could have ever done.

I absolutely, completely, wholeheartedly loved this drama from beginning to end. (ノ^^)ノ The story was just so sweet and beautiful. I couldn't get enough of the chemistry between Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan—they complemented each other perfectly. Every single scene had me smiling like an idiot, giggling, and even kicking my feet. Their relationship felt so natural, built on small but meaningful moments, and they didn’t need grand gestures or too much drama. Just two people falling in love in the purest, most heartfelt way. (/ω\) It’s truly a gem in the romance genre, showing that love can be simple yet deeply moving.

One of the things I adored was how their relationship started—first as a slow and beautiful friendship, then gradually blooming into something more. It wasn’t rushed; it felt organic. And the way the ML (He Su Ye) always encouraged the FL (Xifan) melted my heart. (〃ω〃) He constantly reminded her to love herself first, respected her choices, and supported her no matter what. After everything she went through with her ex, she deserved someone like that—a love that was gentle, patient, and unwavering (honestly, I deserve that too, lol).

Another thing I loved was how the story was told through the seasons, with flowers—especially tulips—woven into the essence of the story. And let's not forget everything they teach us about traditional Chinese medicine. I think it was a very interesting detail. ( • ω• )✧

And that scene in episode 27? When Su Ye started writing Xifan letters while she was studying abroad? My heart! (/ω\)♥ It was so incredibly romantic and beautiful. He Su Ye was just the perfect male lead—flirty, soft-spoken, and effortlessly charming. Every moment with him was swoon-worthy. ♥

↪︎ Now, some of my favorite quotes:

“In my eyes, every day you get better and more deserving of love than the last… So from now on, just focus on loving yourself. As for the rest, leave it to me.” —He Su Ye

"But in my heart, you are the most beautiful scenery in this world… Xifan, falling in love with you is the luckiest thing I have ever done. Loving you is the best thing I have ever done." —He Su Ye

"No matter what happened in the past, good or bad, it's part of who you are. Accept the past, and focus on the present and future." —He Su Ye

And let’s talk about that ending! A lot of Cdramas end with a wedding, but this one was so beautiful, and Su Ye’s heartfelt words to Xifan... (〃ω〃) And that final quote? I will never forget it:

"Hope everyone with a good heart can find a long-lasting love in the gaps of life. It's okay. Learn to love yourself first, more than anyone else in the world. If you can't find that person yet, or you've lost the courage to search, someone will appear in the light shining through the crack."

Overall, The Best Thing is such a wholesome, heartwarming story—no unnecessary drama—just two people finding each other and building a love that feels real. I’d 100% recommend it, and I’d watch it all over again! ⋆˙⟡ If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be: sweet. Oh, and the OST? Absolutely amazing! I just know I’ll be listening to it on repeat for a long time. (´・ᴗ・`)

The Best Thing: A Truly Remarkable Show

The Best Thing has undoubtedly been one of the highlights of my year.
1. A Unique Trope with Traditional Medicine

One of the standout features of this drama is its refreshing approach, using traditional Chinese medicine as a central theme. The female lead (FL), who suffers from insomnia, is cured by the male lead (ML), a traditional Chinese doctor. Each episode introduces a new herb, its relevance to the storyline, and its medicinal use. It’s such a clever and engaging concept, and I absolutely love it!
2. Stunning Cinematography and Seasonal Imagery

The camera work and cinematography are truly breathtaking, beautifully capturing the four seasons. From the first time our couple meets during a vibrant spring, the series visually takes us on a journey through each season, enhancing the emotional depth of their relationship.
3. Perfect Screen-Time Balance

One of the reasons I fell in love with this drama is the perfect balance of screen-time. The story remains entirely focused on the main couple, delving into their healing journeys, their relationship with each other, their emotional traumas, and their careers. The side characters are well-developed, but never overshadow the main storyline. It’s a beautiful balance that keeps you invested in the core narrative.
4. Beautiful, Serene Scenery

The settings in this drama are absolutely stunning. Unlike typical dramas set in bustling cities with towering buildings, this one offers a refreshing escape. The viewers are treated to scenes of serene mountains, lush gardens, colorful flowers, and peaceful, warm neighborhoods. It’s a visual feast for the eyes and an incredibly soothing atmosphere.
5. Outstanding Cast and Chemistry

The entire cast is exceptional, from the leads to the supporting characters. The chemistry between the leads is palpable, and their acting, gestures, and voice tones are all perfectly in sync. There are no irritating side characters, aside from Xifan’s ex, of course—though he’s essential to the storyline, so we can't complain too much! The parents, colleagues, friends, and neighbors all contribute to making the world of this drama feel vibrant and alive.
6. The Heartwarming Love Story

At the center of it all are our lovely couple, He Suye and Shen Xifan. Their story is both heartwarming and deeply emotional.
7. He Suye

At first, He Suye may appear to be the perfect man without flaws, but as the story unfolds, we see that he too carries his own pain and trauma. He’s a man who once kept everything bottled up inside, but with Xifan by his side, he begins to heal and open up.
8. Shen Xifan

Shen Xifan is a strong and independent woman who has been deeply hurt by a past relationship. She was gaslighted, felt undeserving of love, and lost her confidence. But with He Suye, she finds healing, regains her strength, and blossoms into the cheerful, confident woman she was always meant to be.
9. A Beautiful Love Story

He Suye and Shen Xifan share one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever witnessed. Their relationship is touching, and I often found myself saying, "May this kind of love find me soon." It’s the kind of love that feels real, healing, and enduring.

Congratulations to TBT for breaking C-drama stereotypes!

From where do I even start?! First of all, GUYZ, domineering CEOs do NOT always win, male leads do NOT always need to be on their knees to express their love towards female leads & female leads CAN take the bold first steps, whether it's kissing, proposing or gifting a ring!! Thanks to "The Best Thing", for making these things clear like pure water!! Surprisingly, this drama talks about many real-life situations 100% realistically & solves them beautifully as well. I also loved the pieces of information about traditional Chinese medicine. I'm now interested in TCM, tbh! Also, not all the time, people need to sacrifice something big like their long-cherished dreams to get their better half- thank you for reminding this to us, dear plotmakers. We tend to forget that happiness DOES exist without any big sacrifice, thanks to the over-unrealistic BlingBling dramas we watch all the time! However, this drama is a solid 10 on 10, wait, 100 on 10! And, it's recommended to anyone who wants to feel good & watch a realistic romance series! Carry on with loving yourself, guyz!

Love can heal someone's soul. Especially self love.

The Best Thing gives us a sense of warmth from start to finish. From the first episodes to the last ones it feels like a full circle moment of healing, just like how life is. We first meet Shen Xifan when she's struggling, hurting and lost. You might think He Suye is her cure or her salvation but no, he is just a glimpse of hope, a ray of sunlight. And sometimes that's all we need to find our own courage to step out of darkness and embrace a fulfilling life.

Their relationship is solid and well built, the cinematography is beautiful, the side conflicts make sense and (fortunately) don't last long. By the end they introduced a plot that wasn't really necessary in my pov but it also gets a round ending so it's okay.

Get yourself a cup of tea, be comfy and enjoy The Best Thing with an open heart. It will be worthy.

A soft, heartwarming gem of a drama.

The cinematography? Breathtaking. Every frame looked like a painting brushed with love. And the colors—so full of life, like seasons wrapped around your heart.

I adored every character, every moment. From the spring flowers to the warm winter snow, everything felt like a hug.

Xifan gifting blue tulips to He Suye? Symbolic and stunning. Her parents? A quiet kind of love that made me teary.
And what melted me most—Xifan didn’t wait around. She chose love. She took the first step, proposed first, and led with her heart.

Their marriage? A dreamy bloom of petals, soft scents, and promises.
A love story wrapped in sunlight and sincerity. 💍💙🌷

Definitely a must watch for me ?

As someone who's more into action, tragedies and mysterious plots—this drama brought a relaxing and refreshing vibe to my mind!

At first, I was reluctant to watch this because I'm not really into fluff dramas and light series, but because of ZLH, I still proceeded to watch. Initially, I was expecting to get bored somewhere in the middle of the story—but I don't know if it's the glowing visuals, the tranquil vibes or the cute ost that kept my hooked up and made me stay up all night just to finish the whole series in one night!

The light vibes, the maturity of the characters and the cute, fluffy scenes hooked me and will definitely keep me coming back to rewatch the whole series. . . I wish I could watch this again like my first time,, definitely a must-watch

Perfect for a modern drama!!

Zhang Ling He has done it again!!! This is what I look for in a perfect modern drama. I have such a bad problem with even getting into modern dramas because I find a lot of them so boring. Modern dramas will either include too much of the characters work life which most times they do it in such a boring matter. The best thing does include what they do at work but I did not find it boring at all or want to fast forward through it. A lot of the couples cute moments are also while they are working.

The love story between He Su Ye and Shen Xi Fan is the best thing to watch in this drama. The chemistry is amazing and I loved all their scenes together. I do look for cute love stories in a drama and I think this is up there with one of the best I have seen. There is no silly misunderstandings or love triangles. Even though this does start with the female lead being in a long term relationship with her ex (couldn't stand that guy). Her ex is something else and even though they could of had her ex cause problems when that is what he seemed like he wanted to do he didn't. He does stay out of her new relationship when he has found out she has moved on. I felt for the FL and what she went through with her ex and how she wasn't so sure about getting into another relationship after him. He Su Ye stays by her side and is so understanding when he finds out about her past. It's just hard of how you can't fall in love with their love story. It's The Best Thing!!!

Even toward the end where they do have her mom get sick. It does not take away from their story at all. That is what the ML because of what his mom went through has specialized in. The fact that he can be there to help her mom through this and also be there for the FL was so sweet, and the ending wedding scene was so beautiful. So in all if your a romance lover I think you could love this. There really isn't any drama in it which some may find boring but I actually found that so refreshing.

10000/10!!!!

I just have to say—The Best Thing I Have Ever Done is one of the best romance dramas I’ve watched in a long time! Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan completely stole my heart with their chemistry. Every scene between them felt so real, like they weren’t even acting. The way they looked at each other, their little gestures, and the emotions in their eyes—everything was just chef’s kiss.

The storyline itself is super emotional, full of love, regrets, and second chances. It really makes you think about life and the choices we make. And don’t even get me started on the cinematography—the visuals are stunning, and the OST fits the mood perfectly.

Honestly, this drama gave me all the feels. I laughed, I cried, and I got so attached to the characters. And now that it’s over, all I can think about is how much I need Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan to work together again! Their chemistry is way too good to be a one-time thing. Someone, please cast them in another drama ASAP!

A warm tea for lost souls.

I don't usually review the dramas I watch, but this time I will.

It's impressive how much we can relate to the characters through the details inserted in the script, we can clearly see their ideals and unique personalities. It shows that it's normal to be a young person and not have discovered everything you'd like to, or to already have a career in something and want to change.

The couple's relationship doesn't take a back seat; everyday life is really what heals the viewer. This is how I see love and hope to be able to love, in a calm and confident way. Both characters learned from each other how to be in a loving relationship, using respect and communication above all else.

I really liked the secondary characters like the lady at the hotel who gave precious advice that even I will remember for a long time, sometimes we just need someone out there to listen to us and that's all. Although I think the secondary couple could've been better developed (or had more screen time).

It was so healing to see Xi Fan’s family supporting each other and coming together. Parents really raise us for the world, so that we know how to be here even when they are not. Making our family proud is important, but we have to be proud of our own journey too.

It has personally become one of my favorites. Highly recommended, I hope more people can watch it and feel comforted.
