True to its name
This drama is literally the best thing. It shows the kind of love we all deserve. In all sense of love; significant other, family, friends, and people you meet along the way.For such a feel good drama, I didn't expect the angst to also hit hard. I love how this drama delivered in showing up the lowest points of the leads and eventually how they overcome it. The process of healing is also relatable. It's never rushed.
Something I really didn't expect from this drama is how it has become so much better after the dating era. I usually lose interest when couples get together officially but this one I found myself looking forward to what sweetness they are serving next. I'm in awe of the actors. They really performed well because I'm so convinced of their love. It felt sooo real. Kudos to Zhang Linghe and Xu Ruohan. They're perfect as He Suye and Shen Xifan 🙌
One of my pet peeve in some dramas is when 2nd leads overpower the main leads. In this drama, I loved how the 2nd leads and other cast have just the right amount of screentime. No unnecessary plot points. Each has their own purpose.
Some may say this drama is boring and bland but that's not the case for me. I never skipped and I never found anything dull. I loved every bit of it. It's so beautiful in every sense. The cinematography? Cast? Story? Pleasing to the eyes and the heart.
It felt like I only started this yesterday. This has been my comfort after a busy day at work every night since its release. Highly recommend if you want a stress free drama to watch, if you want to smile until your cheek hurts, if you want to feel so single lol 😆
I'm gonna miss this drama a lot and everyone in it. Rewatch value is definitely high. I'll visit it again and again. My favorite modern cdrama 🌷💗🍃

Love That Feels Real—Effortless Chemistry and Heartfelt Moments
The Best Thing completely changed my perception of Chinese dramas. I don’t usually watch them, but this one made me reconsider everything. Shen Xi Fan and He Su Ye had undeniable chemistry—every glance, every touch, and every emotion felt incredibly raw and sincere. Their interactions weren’t just scripted romance; they felt genuine, as if I were watching two real people fall in love. While the storyline isn’t overly dramatic, the perfect balance of heartfelt performances and strong friendships made the series flow seamlessly. Every element worked together so naturally that I couldn’t help but be immersed in the journey. It’s a drama that speaks through emotions rather than grand twists, and that’s exactly what makes it so special.
For a show that touched my heart this deeply, giving it a perfect 10/10 was an easy decision!

pure fluff
this was pure fluffy through and through, and I was smiling the entire time. I really loved the first half of the series, when they were getting to know each other and especially before their dating starts. I loved that our heartwarming our leads were, but they were also funny and spunky in their own ways. It made the eventual romance all the worth it.flat points... it definitely felt dragged out by the time the leads got together and there was an unnecessary drama point that thankfully did not last long. I always enjoy stories before leads get together, so I think the second half could've been condensed better.
overall, a very lighthearted and warm watch, perfect for the spring!

I like to have loved it but that is not the case
I don't usually bother with writing reviews, I leave score and that it!. I am gonna be honest and started to watch it becuase of the ML Zhang Linghe, I can't say the drama was a disappointment but it wasn't great and something I would rewatch.First off I love that the theme is about TCM, also each episode beginning they introduce 1 item and what is good with it. The drama was so slow going it got on my nerves. Even the amazing ML couldn't stop it from being a tad boring, the plain actress Fl, never seen her before and don't think she is a good actress or match with the ML to make them being a couple believable but this is just my opinion.
It really annoyed me she strung the guy all along and she knew that they had feelings for each other, she did the jealous thing when she thought he had a son and was so stroppy with him, once she found out it was a misunderstanding and to me this made it very clear to the ML she was interested in him. Yet she turned him down when he asked her to be his girlfriend, like what was that about? if your not interested then don't string him along; Yes I know the storyline of she is scared because of her ex, however they are friends and she didn't need to be so cruel to him. At this point I nearly dropped the drama, but I carried on and finished it but can't say I enjoyed it 100% I just wanted to finish it.

Flowers for the win
Things I loved1 The ML. A charismatic actor and a good character. I will definitely look for his other dramas and hope they'll be a little more dynamic so I can watch him on something more vibrant. Here he was good, but the theme od the drama didn't give him much room to show his talent. I feel like he could be much better on another series and have better chemistry with another actress. Although it's not guaranteed, maybe this was his best.
2 The parents. I loved how supportive were of their daughter.
3 The FL as bride. One of the most beautiful I've ever seen and her wedding dress was great also.
4 The flowers. I was looking forward to see the nest scene where flowers would play a part. Magical.
Things I liked
1 The Chinese Medicine theme. It's interesting to me and I was happy with the way they involved it in the story.
2 The FL. I didn't love her, but I didn't dislike her either. I won't look for any other dramas with her because I think she didn't do justice to the role and she lacked something to make me care about her. She was apathetic most of the times and I don't know, maybe it's a me problem, I didn't click with her. On the other hand, I can't dislike her character or the actress. I even think that maybe it's worth it to give her another chance, bot not yet. Maybe after a while when I'll be over this drama.
Things I disliked
1 The pace. It was too slow for me even though I like slow.
2 The ex. Stupid character who should have disappeared sooner.
3 The first episodes where the FL was sad and indecisive. I know it's realistic, but I still didn't like it.

This drama simmered so gently, I forgot it was on.
I have mixed feelings about this drama — the kind that makes you sigh dreamily because the main couple is genuinely sweet, then immediately sigh again out of frustration because the story itself feels like a slow descent into narrative purgatory. Zhang Ling He was the magnet that pulled me in; his face card could carry an entire dynasty, but sadly, not this drama. Xu Ruo Han was lovely too, more than holding her own. So let’s be clear: the leads were not the problem. The problem was everything happening around them — or rather, the lack thereof.I love slow burn romance. Give me longing glances, emotional repression, even years of unresolved tension if it pays off in fire. But this wasn’t slow burn — it was just slow. Like wading through lukewarm bathwater, tepid and bland, with no heat in sight. The “romance” mostly consisted of walking, flower-staring, and meandering scenes that had the narrative commitment of a lost tourist. I needed toothpicks to keep my eyes open — and not in a binge-worthy, “I can’t stop watching” way, but in a “why am I still awake for this?” way.
And then there was the dreaded intoxicated first kiss. Can we retire this trope already? It wasn’t romantic, swoony, or even messy fun — just tired. They also tried to stir in angst with the ex-boyfriend and his one-dimensional outbursts, but it barely registered, except give Xi Fan the trauma-induced backstory she needed to see Su Ye in the first place, and later an excuse to run into Su Ye’s arms.
Oddly enough, I found myself liking Xi Fan’s parents. The resolution Xi Fan had with her parents was surprisingly healthy and mature — they were quick to recognize their shortcomings and have an honest heart-to-heart with their daughter, which was refreshing to see. For once, the elders weren’t the source of melodrama, and even Professor Yu — Dr. He’s grandfather — added a layer of warmth. But liking a handful of side characters isn’t enough to drag me through a drama that refuses to spark.
In the end, The Best Thing felt like a drama that wanted to be tender and introspective but ended up sleepy and safe. Sweet couple, yes. But sweetness without spice just leaves a bland aftertaste — and no amount of face card could make that worth finishing.

A must watch drama
I'm so addicted to this drama. It's a def must watch drama! I myself was wondering why I'm feeling connected with it, then i got to know that the writer is the same one who wrote Hidden Love, which is my absolute favorite 🥹 This writer has something special, cuz i can rewatch the drama she wrote & also actors specially the male leads r so charming 😍Was this review helpful to you?
Chidish and poor storyline
The visual is poor, the doctor part is poor, the hotel part is poor, poor storyline and too many kissing scenes just to capture audience. Without kissing no audience so is such a meaningless drama. The drama is not capturing youth are captured due to the kissing scenes which is not looking good chemistry from both male lead and female lead. Was this review helpful to you?
A simple yet comforting spring romance
The best way that I would describe this series is that it's a perfect slice-of-life drama with a heavy romance sub plot.I didn't expect this drama to be so well made and well received. But after watching it, I understood why people love this. The biggest strength of this drama lies in it's predictability. The casual viewer can just relax and chill for an hour knowing that nothing angsty is going to happen.
Some of the pros of this drama are:
1. Gorgeous Cinematography- The drama overall had such a beautiful setting from the herb gardens to the flowers in each shot. Everything was shot like a commercial and the coloring was just gorgeous. They even used some angles and compositions that are rarely used in romance.
2. The mature acting- Cdramas are notorious for dramatic characters but I could rarely find a scene that was exaggerated in this series. The characters acted like their age and even the humor wasn't overdone. This ended up making the characters more likeable and relatable.
3. The cozy romance- The romance between the main characters was the star of the show. Though the chemistry wasn't sparking or passionate all the time, seeing the main couple felt comforting because of their stability and maturity. They were just big green flags so they felt reliable.
4. Realistic storyline- The big plot points in the story were realistic and relatable. From the heroine's fears because of her former abusive relationship to the question of chasing your dreams while sacrificing love, it was something that everyone could/has gone through. I liked that they didn't rush through it either.
So here are some cons that I noticed:
1. The slow pacing- I'm a binge watcher and I must say that I lost my patience after the mid way point. I can see this working for people who watch everyday but this wasn't exciting enough for me to binge it in one sitting. I got bored after 20 episodes and kept fast forwarding.
2. Numerous mentions of TCM- I get that TCM is a big concept in the story but after numerous mentions and all the characters adapting TCM in their life, it made me wonder if the whole point of this drama was to boost China's TCM market. Because at the end, all the characters' life now include TCM in a big way in their life.
Overall, I know this drama is meant to be comforting and healing in a cozy mundane way and this hit the mark if you want that. It's a well made drama but this just wasn't the best I've seen. 7.5/10.

Ummm
It's a very lovely series but also very flat and slow.At first I thought it'd be something like "hidden love" fluffy, funny and romantic, but it was more like " the first frost" more melancholic and healing than fluffy, and tbh up to ep12 it was very enjoyable.
That been said, there is a big difference between showing day to day life of interesting characters and their relationship, and inserting unnecessary obstacles in the life of the leads.
Let me point out what I didn't like about the drama
1- It's unnecessarily longer than needed, we can get our happy end by ep 12 max, yet they have to show weird things and miscommunications happened between the leads to stop any type of closure just to keep the show going, which is tbh really annoying. It happened earlier with the "dad" situation that could be easily solve a whole episode of "sulking" on the FL behalf if she maybe just asked directly about the kid, but no, we have to misunderstanding the situation and get pissed off at an innocent person who BTW was still just a "friend" at this point.
2- too many unrealistic incidents, everyone is connected to everyone in a very creepy way, if I got a penny for each time the two leads meet by chance on the street, I'd be a billionaire, because that's unrealistically too many times, I know that it's supposed to be over a long period of times but still, even a stalker would have a day off or something.
3- lack of communication, I don't know what do writers love about this trope, why can't people just talk and ask questions, including the second couple here, why not just talk, instead of webbing scenarios in your mind and then acting upon it.
4- side characters' story, it was simple friends to lovers but it was pretty odd here, the drama is already longer than needed and they didn't even bother to give them a proper storyline, like they are arguing, sulking, mad, then boom! In a relationship, that happens because they talked it out but seriously?? All this building up to one moment, just like that?? I dare say if they choose the same route for the two leads story and made them talk to eachother, I bet both would get together by ep 5 or something and the drama would be done by then.
I believe this is a nice healing drama, but since I don't watch many Chinese dramas nor am I a fan of long dramas in general I couldn't help but skim through the rest of it.
Would I recommend it? I don't know, maybe give it a try, if you are a fan of Chinese drama this is nice in general but just not for me.

Healing Romance that will stay and heal in your Heart for very very long time
I write this review on Sunday afternoon of 25.3.9 because on the evening,I have to attend the Wedding of our beloved Dr.He and Xi Fan together with my friends in ''Happy Best Club''.I write this review from my pov and experiences.
First of all, I started to read novel when it was confirmed as ZLH next project.
The first time I read the novel of this genre that had simple plot line with many TCM knowledges. At that time many novel readers and passerby fans had not much expectation for drama adaptation.
Time flied quickly, the anticipation for this project was mainly remained in the fan circle. Many people expected '' The Best Thing '' would be another Idol filled in drama with low budget that can't /shouldn't compete with other big projects.
However, the first time I saw the news about it was broadcasted on Jiangsu Satellite TV and Airing date on 25.2.25(the special meaningful Date),
I knew "The Best Thing" would go against all odds and broke the prejudices and expectations it was tagged before.
The storyline itself resonates in me in very deep spiritual ways. From losing someone due to breast cancer to being dumped by phone from long-term bf, you can't imagine how much healing I got from this drama. And as a person who had have anxiety and insomnia problems, the TCM parts involved in the drama gave the insight knowledges and helpful for healthy living.
And this is the first time,as a ZLH fan, I have the Best experience of chasing a drama. The Best Co-stars,the Best drama team, the Best treatment plus the Best watching experience together with the Best lovely people all over the platforms.
For the ladies and girls ,they said it is hard to find someone like Dr.He who is only fictional and never exist in real world.
Don't worry,as Ling He said, He Su Ye is a mirror, love yourself well,he will be in front of you .
Yes, we don't need to find somebody desperately.Instead how about becoming that somebody ourselves.Spreading love, healing and happiness to ourselves and our society and our world.
"My world become bright because you are bright"
"All our days are filled with lololove and sunshine"
Thank you everyone for bringing the Best drama to our life, the drama you will revisit in every Springtime.
After all,
"Loving you is the Best Thing I have ever done".
Love you all💖💖Have a nice day and the Best life💖💖*💖💖💖💖💖

Every soothing, healing & pleasing drama
First time seeing Zhang Ling He in a modern attire look. He looks so handsome in those clothes. Never noticed he is so slim. His up-close shots are so satisfying to watch.I'm not a flower person. But the amount of flowers that are shown in the drama was so beautiful. It made me want to buy those flowers, but alas, these flowers aren't available in my country.
I love the drama. It's a very sweet, loving, friendly, mature drama. I loved the chemistry between Zhang Ling He & Xu Ruo Han. I also loved the cinematography.
After watching the skateboarding scene of He Su Ye, it reminded me of the behind-the-scenes shoot. But the scene is so beautiful.
Poor He Su Ye with his marriage proposal from patients.
Laugh when He Su Ye checked Shen Xi Fan's pulse & casually said she is heartless.
Li Jie & his friend hurriedly leave after seeing He Su Ye being lovey-dovey.
He Su Ye fooling Shen Xi Fan that she made the first move & she believing him, or rather getting confused, was so cute.
Laugh whenever He Su Ye used to tease his friend for being single & him going on dates with his girlfriend.
This is the 1st time I have seen in main stream C-Drama showing smoking not directly but indirectly.
Overall I loved it.
