MUST WATCH!
Truly do not miss out on this drama! I was immediately captivated and immersed into Bai Shuo and Fan Yue’s world. The story is beautifully told and you truly feel for every single character whether they had a 1 or 3 episode cameo. You will hate the bad but also learn why they are that way, the story unfolds and allowing you to see why every decision from each character was made, even if you couldn’t agree with it — it all flows well. I absolutely love Ao Rui Peng’s portrayal in this series, and this is my first introduction to him. I’ve read on other platforms how some may have doubted him as a lead but I cannot comment on his past work but with this one in particular he did it incredibly well. I’m looking forward to seeing his past and future works. Please give this show a chance, 40 episodes flew by for me. I loved every minute of it!Was this review helpful to you?

Slice of life, love and friendship!
This show is such a gem, if you have seen the Korean show Hometown Cha Cha Cha and enjoyed it then this show might be up your alley.I’ve cried with these characters, I’ve laughed with them, and in the end I’ve come to cherish them.
This show is not just about the two main characters, this is a show about community, value, friendship, family.
As someone who is mainly into shows about cultivation and immortals, I was just very pleasantly surprised at how instant hooked I was when I started Meet Yourself with zero expectations.
Although the show isn’t plot driven, it’s character driven and I think that’s why this show deserves its praises. The show reminded me of a documentary, the look into the lives and relationships of humans who aren’t perfect but at the same time, they’re just trying their best — they’re just like you and me.
I wholeheartedly recommend this show for anyone who just wants to take a break from life, cause this show was such a treat to me after my long days at work. I looked forward to unwinding once I got home and immersed myself into their little village and conversations nestled amongst each other,
If I could give this 12/10 I would.
You won’t regret watching this show.

The Wei of Life Through the Lens of Marriage
For my enemies to lovers enthusiasts, this is our drama to watch. For my people who love forced/contract marriages, this is our drama to watch.
Who doesn’t love enemies to lovers and having to see them get married??? *raises hand*
From the very first gripping episode, I was completely locked in!
Liu Yuning portrays Wei Shao, our leading man. And let me tell you, the look of disgust and hate from Wei Shao was done so well that it sent chills down my spine, but at the same time I wanted more of it.
Song Zuer portrays Manman/Qiao Man our leading lady who ends up as our Lady Wei. From first glance she looks timid and obviously a beauty but do not let looks fool you, she’s calculating but also so gracious.
We’ve all seen dramas where the first look from both leads says a lot, but their first time seeing each other was explosive and left me wanting more of their interactions after that. The first time their eyes locked together, we the viewers just knew this was gonna be good. When you get to that part, you’ll understand what I mean. You just felt the vibes already.
Despite Wei Shao being fickle and pretentious for a lot of the beginning moments between him and Manman, I felt like Manman met his energy and he didn’t like that lol. Many moments where Wei Shao would openly admit he cannot out argue Manman, but this is coming from a man who is deemed scary and in charge of the Wei people. These are the first couple of signs where I see Wei Shao slowly giving in a little bit to Manman, but not fully. He’s not used to having someone go up against him, Manman is someone who tested him in the best way possible.
As the show progresses you can tell he is softening up to Manman yet he’s still testing her. Just because he’s married to her doesn’t mean he’s gotta accept her. Wei Shao needs to know where her loyalty lies — because from my understanding, yes she has the last name of Wei but is her heart still a Qiao? Wei Shao’s past left him super guarded and rightfully so. Because from his perspective this an enemy in his territory and he didn’t want to be caught with his guards down if he accepted her just because they share the same name now.
Manman becomes Wei Shao’s wife, the Lady Wei, but I gotta say, I would call her Lady Grace. She’s graceful in everything she does, she’s smart, she perseveres. She isn’t your typical weak female lead who needs saving all the time. It’s always nice to not see a damsel in distress. Despite being wronged by the Wei family a couple times, especially by some people like the mother in law, she always showed grace even she has to defend herself. Manman held herself in much dignity, that’s why I would call her Lady Grace, the way she spoke was eloquently even if she was basically calling someone out. I like this type of female lead a lot. She reminds me a lot of my aunt: soft spoken but you wouldn’t know she was calling you out due to the graceful and soft tone. 🥲
Manman in my opinion was well written and perfectly suitable for Wei Shao. Although both are flawed characters, I think that’s what makes the viewers drawn towards them as in visuals and eventually as a power couple.
Wei Shao to me was never someone heartless, he just has an edge to him that he purposely put out, get too close and you’ll get cut. I mean, if your family met the same fate as his, you’d be the same but at the same time you’d think someone with his type of trauma and history would be a monster but he actually isn’t. He cares a lot for his people and Manman saw through his hard shell, with that, she was able to help him grow with her.
We often get shows where one character helps the other grow and overcome obstacles. However they both helped each other, Wei Shao and Manman are two people who both didn’t want to yield. But with time, they both learn that in order to keep living, in order to help maintain structure and peace over a nation, you must yield and not always do things your way.
They both pushed each other to their limits and I think this is where their characters are developing the most. Despite never wanting to marry each other, in the end they realize how much they need each other. The love they have is the perfect slow burn, which is just my type of romance.
I think I pretty much rambled a lot and I’m sorry if my thoughts about this show is all over the place. But I need you guys to give this a chance if you’re a fan of the leads, and even if you’re not, you will surely become fans after watching.
The supporting characters are so funny and all precious, mainly the Wei generals and Manman’s maidservants. Their bicker and bantering were always fun to watch, you’ll enjoy it very much.
The OST is great, it captivates you into their world of ancient China, I currently got it on repeat on Spotify.
And overall, great show, if you like to see two people who are forced together and develop trust and love over time then this is for you.
At the end of the day, I’m just a sucker for handsome generals and strong female leads who take charge with her general, this show fits the bill.
Happy watching.

Beautifully healing…
Personally, I’m not one to watch too many modern shows however I made this exception for BJT after seeing him in Destined.I’ve never seen Hidden Love so I have nothing else to compare it to, however I feel like anyone watching The First Frost or Hidden Love should watch these two without any biases.
I thoroughly enjoyed every single thing about The First Frost. Our female lead, Wen Yifan portrayed by Zhang Ruo Nan did an exceptional job. As humans we all have our past and there are things that we rather leave behind, Zhang Ruo Nan did a such a good job at showcasing how someone with such traumatic past behaves. She is not your typical walk in the park female lead who going to have the upbeat personality, she isn’t bubbly nor is she going to be outspoken (at first) and that’s okay. At first I didn’t like how she wasn’t outspoken, but after experiencing all the thing she’s gone through and how so many people silenced her, why say anything else if they won’t stand by you. I began to understand her as a character and felt true compassion, every action that she has decided on is basically to protect herself. She’s flawed, but she’s also willing to allow herself to be free from her past. Her character is probably one of the best character growth that I’ve seen that felt organic with each episode.
Now for our male lead, Sang Yan who portrayed by Bai Jing Ting, he did such an impeccable job. He blew me away in Destined so I knew he would deliver as Sang Yan, and he sure did. Bai Jing Ting was able to convey so much love and patience towards the female lead. Even in times when he was at a lost for words to comfort our female lead, his eyes spoke so loudly for him, his actions that he did for her went beyond all measures out of care and love.
I truly like this show because it’s not all fluff and light, The First Frost appealed to me because it felt realistic and organic. The emotions that these two characters gave to the viewers is one that I’ll always remember. To be able to help each other, comfort each other and to help each other heal — it truly warmed my heart. I enjoy seeing broken characters who end up healed in the end, that’s just my cup of tea. However this may not be for you if you don’t prefer heavier subjects and want full fluff. But if you want an actual storyline that showcases the romance evolving beautifully, this is for you.
As someone who mainly enjoys seeing characters cultivate and immortals fight each other, this is the first (hopefully not last) modern show that I will have to give a solid 10/10 respectfully.

Oh sweet love..
I love everything about this from start to finish! Now I only give it a 9.5 because I just didn’t like how our main male lead had to regain all his memories again after our main female lead got hers back. However they did execute that type of trope of amnesia pretty well. I love the skinship these two had, so many adorable and sweet moments! Ugh I could go on endlessly about the way they were openly affectionate towards each other. This is your drama that showcases what true love is. I watched it for Deng Wei but stayed for the love, i absolutely love their love and the story. Was this review helpful to you?

Easy to watch & enjoyable however…
This show is easy to watch and enjoyable HOWEVER, as someone who mainly watches costume dramas, if it wasn’t for ZLH, I probably wouldn’t have watched this.I don’t have anything against this drama, I believe this drama is a lot of people’s cup of tea in terms of little misunderstanding and little drama, the “drama” were not outlandish.
This is all personal, I’m someone who watches more costume/period pieces so I’m used to 30 episodes of misunderstandings and heavy angst and yearning — so that’s MY cup of tea and I know that may not be yours.
I would highly recommend this show to someone who wants to watch something easy to follow along, a show that doesn’t leave you on a cliffhanger, a show that you can truly unwind to and this is definitely a show that you can watch between your heavier shows.
I believe everyone can enjoy it, the show plot isn’t too heavy so you can go into this story line workout having to feel too heavy hearted.
It is a show that I believe is geared towards those who truly want a lot of fluff and sweet sweet toothache romance.
I overall enjoyed it and give it a solid 8/10 despite the show not being my type of show, but I fully gave it a chance for ZLH and I’m glad to have seen him in a modern setting.
You can take my review with a grain of salt, watch and see if you will enjoy it or not.

Life, love, & adversity!
This is more than just a love story between two people, this is about love that you have for people in your life. Friends, family, and the person who you admire, love is given and received from each of them. This show demonstrates that with love, you can truly conquer all, money cannot buy love. Love is special, and the love who you receive it from gives you strength to overcome all obstacles!
I truly enjoyed the story of each character in the Hua family, they have come so far from the first episode and to the final episode! So much character growth for them as a family, I enjoyed it very much.
Now the love story between our two leads, although compared to other shows this might not be all in your face but they do have their sweet moments even if it’s less and some might not like that. However, I loved their chemistry every single time they were together. They communicated so well even if there were some mishaps, but they overcame it.
I absolutely felt like this show had no fillers, every episode kept me wanting more.
A must watch!

A new favorite of mine!
As someone who enjoys the work of Ding Yuxi, I decided to check this show out and I absolutely loved it!The two leads have so many sweet moments together throughout the show, there was never any huge misunderstandings between them - which is rare in the drama world.
This might not be everyone's cup of tea but if you want to watch a sweet and cute show then this is for you! Plus you get to see our two leads fall in love several times as they go through love tribulations - hence the name of the title!
The show is definitely easy to watch and easy to follow along. Some people may not enjoy that the two leads have to go through the tribulations together repeatedly, but I began to enjoy seeing their love blossom in different dimensions and that's why I enjoyed seeing so many sweet moments between the two leads.
If you're looking for a show to watch, please do check this one out!

A beautiful romance that blooms!
The type of show that pulls you in within 20 minutes! I highly recommend this to anyone who is interested in checking out Cdramas. A well rounded cast of talent and none of the characters were truly villains in my opinion. Every single character had their flaws and that’s what made this enjoyable. Every character had a redeeming quality, you do things for people you love. You may not agree with some of their choices but when you love and care for someone, you are left to deal with things in your own matter.. that’s what this story has taught me.I truly love the main 4 leading cast, their bond and dynamic is precious, and the main romance… makes my heart swoon!
OST is amazing too.
I’ll be thinking of this one for awhile.
