A Calming Journey of Love and Healing

This drama completely swept me off my feet! From the very first episode, the aesthetic cinematography and the beautiful use of music created such a captivating atmosphere, giving me literal butterflies. The direction was spot-on, and each character was introduced so well, leaving me eagerly anticipating what was to come.
As the story unfolded, particularly in the second episode, I was thoroughly impressed by the nuanced acting, especially from the male lead. His subtle yet expressive portrayal of a man hesitant about relationships felt incredibly genuine and refreshing. The female lead was equally compelling, depicting loyalty and a calm demeanor that felt true to life.
The drama maintained a wonderfully calming energy throughout, with a sweet and realistic romance blossoming between the leads. I loved how their connection built gradually, with subtle yet significant sparks. The incorporation of traditional Chinese medicine added a fascinating cultural layer. By the time I reached the later episodes, I was completely invested in their journey, cheering them on through their individual struggles and the eventual triumph of their love.
Kudos to the director, cinematographer, writers, and everyone involved in crafting this beautiful and perfectly executed story with believable characters and pacing. The makers clearly cherished this drama, resulting in a truly worthwhile viewing experience free of unnecessary dragging or over-dramatization. The ending was beautiful and heartwarming, solidifying this as one of the best Cdramas I've ever watched. It's a solid 10/10 for me – a truly cherished story!

The Best Thing

I really like this movie. The chemistry between the two actors is very good. The look of this movie is refreshing. I hope ML and FL can often act together in their next dramas. Chinese medicine is very interesting, I learned a lot from it. The visuals of both actors (he su ye and shen xifan) are very beautiful as if they were destined to have the role.

ThE BEST THING IS LITERALLY "THE BEST THING"

Some dramas are just stories, but some feel like a part of your life. The Best Thing wasn't just a drama for me-it was a place where I found comfort, warmth, and healing when I needed it the most. It’s not overly flashy or dramatic just for the sake of it, which I appreciate. Instead, it leans into emotional honesty and strong performances to move the plot forward.Y’all know we will get good kissing scenes with Zhang lol.
So many messages in each episodes which made it a great storyline.
This was an easy watch, It was not draggy and you will definitely love it.

The Healing You Didn't Know You Needed?✨

It doesn’t hit you all at once.
It doesn’t try to overwhelm you.
But slowly… it settles.

I really appreciate a director who understands how to use weather as part of storytelling—and this drama does that beautifully. The way it plays with seasons, lighting, and surroundings feels intentional. Whether it’s the softness of spring, the warmth of summer, or the quiet loneliness of colder tones, everything is used to support the emotion of each scene.

And the flowers...💐🌹🌺🌸🌷🏵️🌻🌼
Soooo many flowers in this drama and I totally like it!!! I love how flowers are not just decoration here, but part of the drama itself. They become a love language. The scene where He Suye and Shen Xifan exchange flowers feels gentle, almost innocent—soft, pretty, and slightly teasing. The couple that I wish I can be😳🤧 But then the same element shifts into something emotional, even explosive—like when Shen Xifan “hits” her ex with that huge bouquet 😭🌹🥀 It’s dramatic, yes, but also symbolic. Love, anger, closure—wrapped in something that looks beautiful on the outside.

From the very first episode, I already liked how this drama chooses "silence" over noise. It doesn’t rely on excessive background music to tell you what to feel. No over bgm. No overplay ost. Which is something many dramas tend to overdo. Instead, it lets moments breathe...

That one scene in eps 1 when He Suye looking at Shen Xifan with his mask, Shen Xifan looking at him too, eye to eye, no music—just silence, and the sound tickling of a clock...🕜🕰️

And somehow… that more heartbeat. More tickling. More real.😖😖😳✨ It creates tension in such a subtle way, and that’s what makes it memorable🌬️

Now, about the character.

How do I even start to our greenflag ML?🤔😌

He Suye is the kind of character that totally feels too perfect. From the side, his features are strikingly handsome—sharp nose, defined jawline. From the front, a pair of beautiful, doe-like eyes that seem to tease you, as if asking to be fed. From the back—ah! A straight, sturdy back like a mountain ready to protect, broad shoulders like an ocean you could lean on. When he sits, he looks polite, charming, and dependable; when he stands, he radiates charisma, authority, and quiet wisdom.

He Suye just a smartAI—a doctor, academically smart, emotionally smart, calm, patient, can cook, can speaks gently, can be cool, can be naughty, knows when to be firm, knows when to step back. He has that quiet confidence—not loud, not arrogant, shine on his own, tall, handsome, and rich. Sometimes wearing glasses—serious, sometimes playing skateboard—playful, you can take him to a fine dining restaurant, you can also take him to eat noodles at a street. Nihaofinesh*t😵💫

His smile? Sweet and make butterfly stomach🍯🦋
His eyes? Sexy and dangerous👀👄

I really sound like a fangirl😭

Honestly, he feels like the definition of “written by a woman” kind of character—so ideal it almost annoys you because you know someone like this PROBABLY DOESN’T EXIST IN REAL LIFE 😭 He understands situations from a distance, like a third-person perspective. He doesn’t react impulsively—he observes, processes, and responds. And the way he handles Shen Xifan, especially her emotional ups and downs, shows just how patient and emotionally mature he is.

💯. Period.

For Shen Xifan… I actually like her character. She feels real. Not perfect, not always likable—but human. There are moments where she gets trapped in her own emotions, overthinks things, and ends up hurting herself and sometimes people around her too in the process. Sometimes it’s frustrating to watch, because you just want to tell her to "get out of your own head!"

But at the same time, it makes sense. Her past, especially her experience with her ex, clearly shaped the way she reacts to love and conflict. She’s guarded, unsure, sometimes even self-sabotaging. And while that can be annoying, it also makes her growth feel more meaningful. Because as the story progresses, you can see her slowly change—becoming more open, more honest, and more willing to trust again. Especially toward He Suye. And that’s where the relationship really works.

It’s not rushed. It’s not overly dramatic. It’s built on patience. On understanding. On staying. He doesn’t force her to change. She doesn’t suddenly become “perfect girlfriend.”

They meet in the middle.

And that’s what makes it feel grounded. And also that's why many people find this drama boring, because they prioritize the "flow of the love process" over "falling in love immediately".

Luckily for Shen Xifan, the toxic ex was the only negative thing in her life. She has loving parents, supportive friends, and even a green flag boyfriend at the end..

Overall, The Best Thing is not a drama that screams for your attention. It doesn’t rely on big twists or heavy drama to keep you watching. Instead, it quietly pulls you in with its atmosphere, its characters, and its emotions. It feels soft on the surface, but carries something deeper underneath.

A story about love,
about healing,
about learning how to be understood—
and how to understand in return.

A quiet glow…
that you don’t notice at first,
but once it’s there,
you don’t want it to leave ✨🍃

“Just focus on loving yourself , as for the rest leave it to me”

Getting emotional and nostalgic since now it has ended and that it’s already been a year since I remember even finding out about this series 🤧

As for the story I enjoyed it as someone who barely watches a lot of cdramas
I like how comforting it was and how healing it is
How both leads were able to be each others cure in a way
The funny moments and seriousness was nicely done

When I first began the drama I was frustrated that He suye fell for xifan at first sight but xifan was still in a relationship and it might be a lot of turn off for many but don’t worry He suye won’t do anything like cheating or stealing

I myself relate to xifan as in mostly our goals but I saw some people hating on her simply because she rejected Hu suye confession and yes it was heartless but you also got to understand that xifan herself never planned to have feelings for him cause she was planning to study abroad and the moment she kinda knew she in a way suppressed it because she was hurt by her previous relationship that left a scar

For the couples, I gotta say for the 2nd one I wish they showed how xiang ya had gained feelings for senior lin cause I do feel that it was random and quite rushed but overall I love their dynamic
I’m glad that kexin didn’t have hard feelings towards xifan when she got rejected by he suye and moved on by herself to a better path than a petty one

For the acting it was nice but I do feel like xu ruohan crying scenes could be a bit better as in I felt like she was trying to force the tears out but in the context of those scenes it doesn’t matter too much

Their voices did threw me off a bit in the beginning cause I kept wondering if it was dubbed over or not? But I got used to it and idk why but for me it was quite obvious that Zhang linghe didn’t really skateboard in those scenes lol

The cinematography is stunning and has given us so many beautiful shots of spring and their love and moments, it does not disappoint
Plus the soundtrack is amazing as well I loved it tho at the end everything is subjective but it’s definitely gonna be on repeat for me

To end this I’m sad it was this short cause I enjoyed it a lot, I know this is not gonna be everyone’s cup of tea especially if you find more healing and romance stories boring and lame but as a romance fanatic I loved it and honestly I think Zhang linghe really should consider more modern dramas cause he looked dashing in this drama
(Also hair theory is real guys)

A Heartwarming Story About 2 Insanely Attractive Couple

It's been a while since C-Drama produced a good slice-of-life drama with stunning cinematography. The most recent one that I enjoyed was Meet Yourself, it has such a similar vibes and warmth that I liked.
The story wasn't necessarily inventive or new, however, the plot was just so well written that the sophistication of this drama is irreplaceable. Aside from the obvious stunning Male and Female lead visuals, the characters they portray are very mature, capable and equal in their own rights. The show portrays growth in each characters, bringing the best in each other - which is something that sometimes lack in dramas.

The minor detail that I enjoyed was how supportive both parents and elderly of the couple. They have comedic side to them, which are such a bonus point.

We love a mature couple!

This is a great watch especially if you've been dealing with dramatic dramas recently. This is a very mature and secure couple! They don't drag out conflicts, and the conflicts themselves are realistic and relative to the plot.
We love a bestie who actually helps the main couple instead of working against them!
Highly recommend!

The best modern Cdrama I've ever watched.

The drama is perfect, with great photography and OST, everything seems to create an atmosphere of love and tranquility. It is a pure drama, without any major confusion or misunderstandings that go on for too long.
Zhang LingHe is perfect as Dr. He SuYe, all his mannerisms and quirks are evident. His character is an adult, even though he has been through traumas that he has carried since childhood. The drama knew how to balance it out and not let his old relationship affect his new romance with our protagonist.

Xu RuoHan, besides being beautiful and radiant, managed to convey all the emotions of our dear Shen XiFan, that scene where she is suffering sitting on a bench while devouring a ce cream makes me suffer even now as I write this review. She matured throughout the drama, and knew how to deal with all the situations she faced.

For someone who doesn't like modern Cdramas, this was certainly the best modern Cdrama I have watched, in every sense. Only mistake was that he only had 28 episodes.
