It’s a bitter-sweet saguek comedy with a big show of Junho, because his performance is brilliant. The rest of the cast did a good job too, especially Kim Dong Young, who deserves a lead role in the next film of director Nam De Joong.
The script is just impressively elaborated and the dialogues are intelligent. The story picks up social problems located in the past, but universal about life of women and scars in the human hearts.
It isn't a classic romcom, not at all. It isn't a trivial and banal light entertainment. It’s a touching love story with a very special taste of humor and Junho was able to create this unique spirit.
I highly recommend, the scenario and acting are top notch. But you must be ready to cry.

for a lot of the movie but I persevered as I was drawn by both the leading actors and what seemed like a good storyline.
Apart from the distracting subs, it moved along nicely and was entertaining. I wouldn't call it a bad movie but I think I could have appreciated a lot more if the subs had have been right. At the end of the day, it had great potential with good actors but it never quite 'got there' for me. I was a bit disappointed after it eneded as I had expected more than what was presentated

The story had potential and there were moments where it was really, really good, like towards the ending with that dramatic scenes, which had some great performances too. However, the presentation of the story was off. The camera work was odd, with the lighting of the settings sometimes too natural for a movie. There were some scenes that moves too fast and others where the action happened off the scene.

FOR ME ITS SAD ENDING, WHY? THEY DID NOT END UP TOGETHER AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN SAID "I LOVE YOU" FACE TO FACE. I FEEL PITY FOR THE OTHER GUY BUT F HIM, HE'S THE REASON WHY THE MALE LEAD GOT HURT AND THEIR MARRIAGE WAS FORCED. ALSO THE LITTLE GIRL DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE, HIS ALMOST HUSBAND IS SH!T. I JUST REALLY FEEL SAD BUT THE MOVIE IS BEAUTIFUL. Bittersweet love story beautifully told in a movie
The ML was in his forte not only playing a footloose and carefree teenager falling in love but a desirable and seductive male gisaeng. Watching him dance to entertain his clients made me wish I was there in person!Costumes, props and sets were realistic and transported you back in time to Joseon. Scenery was gorgeous as well and it was a visual feast for the eyes. Story was pretty simple so you could focus on the romance and had its trademark Korean touch of a bittersweet ending with a little twist.
A good watch when you don’t have the time to invest in a multi-episode drama and want a little romance fix with a tinge of sadness. Pom Rak Khun is my takeaway from this movie.

Tug at your heartstrings
A movie starring Lee Jun Ho? Yes please!Lee Jun Ho as a male gisaeng in said movie? *grabby hands* A thousand times yes!
I thought I would get at least a moderately funny, entertaining movie and with Lee Jun Ho in the forefront as the Joseon's first male gisaeng I was really looking forward to the comedy. But what I got wasn't only comedy... oh, there were a lot of funny parts, hilarious even but more than, dare I say better than that what I did get was an amazing, beautiful, poignant, bittersweet... in short everything I could want in a movie.
The comedy was laugh out loud funny.
The angst was a box of tissues by your side.
The romance was beautifully done. It wasn't in steamy displays or even in words but in feelings captured in the eyes. He does use his words once when he tells her "Pom rak khun" means beautiful but she never finds out until the very end (and not from him) that it really means "I love you" and by then it is way too late.
Lee Jun Ho was brilliant and captivating as Heo Saek. When he smiled I smiled, when he laughed I laughed, when he danced I was stunned and when he cried, I was in tears.
If you're looking for a movie that will tug at your heartstrings this is it. This is a slow burn historical romance of two characters with deep feelings for each that can't be acted on despite how much they both want to. The ending is sad... well neither die so it's more bittersweet in my opinion but still a tearjerker.
Please keep in mind this movie won't be for everyone. If you need fast paced, happy endings, displays of affection in the form of steamy kisses... this won't be for you.

Un film romantique émouvant où Junho démontre une fois de plus, tout son talent
Le film commence comme une comédie, un peu féministe (ce qui ne fait pas de mal :), une satire de cette époque en Corée où les hommes avaient tous les droits et les femmes, bien peu.On y retrouve aussi (ce qui perdure dans la culture coréenne) le poids du statut (du rang) social.
Le ton devient plus doux-amer à mesure que les sentiments se renforcent, et de façon réaliste, il n'y a pas vraiment de Happy End.
Les images sont belles, la musique accompagne parfaitement l'évolution des personnages, et il faut féliciter les acteurs pour incarner ainsi leurs personnages.
J'ai regardé ce film pour Junho, et je m'en félicite car j'ai pu constaté une fois de plus, que ce n'est pas seulement une idol, mais également un très grand acteur ❤❤❤

Filminho histórico fofinho e engraçado que provavelmente te fará cai um cisco no olho do nada OH mas chorei( Ps: sou chorona). O filme é um Junho de cortesã ( SIM ) e o amo fofinho e impossível dele e da Somin. 😭O filme pega algumas questões sociais das mulheres e trás a tona, coisas que te de tão uma tristeza masque são reais. Recomendo o filme pra que não espera muito mas quer se empolgar com a história. Afinal histórias de amores impossíveis são as melhores.
