If you are a Zhang Linghe fan....
At first I wasn't sure about this drama because it started out so slow. I usually give anything I watch 3 episodes before I decide to finish it or not. But for Zhang Linghe I carried on. It took me until episode 7 to get really interested in it. I'm so glad that I continued watching.Zhang Linghe was absolutely amazing in this.
Was it as good as SOKP? No, but it was so close.
If you're a fan of Zhang Linghe definitely give this one a try.

Beautiful, breathtaking romance
Beautiful, breathtaking and heartbreakingly sad romance drama.I put off watching this drama because of being told how sad it was. Let me tell you, I was missing out on a beautiful romance. There are a lot of gorgeous scenes between Zhou Sheng Chen and Shi Yi. Although their love story isn't in words they say out loud but in their eyes and their actions towards each other. Each wanting, needing the other but there are reasons he has to keep his distance.
If you like Ren Jai Lun, you won't regret watching this. He is an awesome actor, who without one kiss scene can show more depth of love and romance than all the more 'spicy' dramas combined. From the moment he steps on screen he is the heart of this story.
If you decide to give this drama a chance please remember this isn't a happy story... for anyone, have a box of tissues ready (although the sad parts won't come until the last few episodes) and have Forever and Ever ready to watch immediately after this.
For me one of the saddest parts was when she was reading the blood letter he wrote before dying.
"I’ve never let down or hurt anyone in this world, expect Shi Yi."
Even though it did break my heart and leave me crying buckets of tears I don't regret for one second watching One and Only.
and on a related note Wang Xing Yue was phenomenal as the villain Liu Zi Xing.

Opinions do vary
This mini drama was absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed every second of it.The ML did some questionable things but never out of hate everything was out of love and his need to keep her safe and after finding out her real identity I can understand why he did the things he did to keep her by his side.
Did he go about it the right way? Absolutely not. Could everything they went through have been avoided? Yes, like most misunderstandings in most dramas a simple conversation would've worked wonders. But then where would the drama be?
It was one giant misunderstanding after another. One of the first things she thinks she sees is him doing something bad, instead of asking she immediately assumes he did it and never once questions that belief. And that sets the story for why she's scared of him. If for one second she'd stopped and asked instead of assuming everything would've been different.
In the beginning he lies and admits to doing something he didn't do, So why did he lie? To convince her she was unfit to marry someone else so she would stay by his side.
Is the ML toxic? Opinions do vary. I thought he came off as a controlling a** because he was obsessed with loving her, and keeping her by his side to keep her safe. We find out over the course of the drama that he was never taught what love was and that there was a right and a wrong way. And unlike the ML in Circle of Love (who most everyone would agree was 9th level circle of hell toxic) everything this ML did was because he loved her (not saying it was right just saying it was never done from a position of hate),
So should you watch it? Well that depends on your tastes. If you like your ML so in love with the FL that it borders on obsessive love, if you like a ML who's passionate, aggressive and willing to do anything, whatever he has to in order to keep her safe and by his side, if you like a FL who reacts first instead of asking why, a FL who has to be rescued almost every single time she tries to run away, with a great HE then boy oh boy is this the drama for you!

True Love's Kiss
This is such a cute, fluffy, hilarious, mini drama! This drama probably won't win any awards but it is hands down one of the cutest, funniest things I've scene so far.Is the story silly? Why yes it is the guy turns into a pig (a literal pig) at night and only true love's kiss before he turns 27 can save him from staying that way forever. That sounds pretty silly to me. However the silly works here.
If you're looking for something light and fluffy to watch between heavier dramas this is the one for you.

If you're a Liu Xue Yi fan...
After reading the novel and loving it, I was looking forward to watching this drama. However it was nothing like the book...no, not even the ending. The book was a HE. The drama was not. It was a maybe, eventually, some day, some time she might, hopefully find a way to come back. Meanwhile she might be a butterfly, a bug, the breeze, etc....To say I was disappointed is an understatement. I had such high hopes for this drama.
Having said that it wasn't all bad:
1. Liu Xue Yi was amazing in this role but that's unsurprising. He's a fantastic actor and he look very good in this part. He's also the only reason I gave this 8 stars. Without him, I would have dropped the drama after the first 3 episodes.
2. The OST is awesome!
So, if you're a Liu Xue Yi fan and you haven't read the book then give this a chance you may like it. If you have read the book, forget everything you've read and you may enjoy the drama. Otherwise if you're like me you'll spend almost every episode saying "That's not what happened in the book."
If you don't know any of the actors and you love very slow burn romance fantasy, a gorgeous male lead who is morally grey and a SE then give this a try.

Not as bad as it seems
This was such a cute, funny movie. I laughed out loud and 'awwwed' in equal measure. The bath scene was hilarious. It was highly entertaining and has a lovely happy ending.
I didn't really understand why Kurosaki Haruto (played by Nakajima Kento) was such an enormous a** to her unless it was because of the old "You only hurt the ones you love." Not that it was an excuse but anyone watching this movie knew he liked her from the beginning. I was still thrilled when she chose him at the end.
I also don't understand why she accepted his behavior unless it was because he was a hottie and she still saw herself as an 'ugly' duckling. Which I don't think is an excuse either.
If you like cute, fluffy, romantic movies with a highly aggressive, possessive male lead give this one a try. Just remember it's all fiction and not real life.
However if you prefer your male leads to be sweet, gentle puppies this is definitely not the movie for you.

If you're looking for a male mermaid story...
This is one to watch if you're looking for a male mermaid story. It's a cute, funny, silly mini drama. It kind of reminded me of The Starry Night, the Starry Sea (with Feng Shao Feng but not as good nor as sad).At first the male and female leads grated on my nerves a bit but by the second episode it was better.
It tries to get a little angsty with the second pairing but honestly she irritated me so much I wouldn't have cared if she had ended that way. But of course true love works miracles (ain't that always the case).
The last episode (all 6:10 mins of it) is the happy ending for both couples.
Overall I'd say this one is worth at least a one time watch if you like adorably cute (but sometimes not that bright) guys who happened to be mermaids.
On the other hand if you like your dramas with a little more 'teeth' to them this isn't the one for you.

Cute & Fluffy
This was such a cute drama! She's lost her voice and finds that kissing him restores her ability to speak. (I could make a rather inappropriate joke about magic healing but I fought the urge)
Fluffy and Sweet. No angst, no bad guys, no break ups just pure romance and kisses! With a happy ending (abrupt but happy nonetheless)
As a warning, the subtitles are atrocious and some are non-existent but if you like angst free, cute and fluffy romance the bad subtitles do not take away from this drama. Definitely worth the watch.
It can be found on Youtube with the title "She wanted to kiss him every time they met. He hated it at first, but later he became addicted."

If you're wanting to watch this after reading Have a Soft Spot for Her (Novel Updates) then don't bother. This drama is nothing like the book at all. Not even a little bit. I hate when a drama says adapted from a novel and then it's nothing like the book at all. I understand having to change certain things to make it flow on screen but not every little detail.
This one might as well have said we've taken the names of the characters and written the script totally different. We've turned good guys into evil characters and created unnecessary deaths. Just because we can mwah ha ha.
If you just need a Li Fei fix by all means watch this because the only reason, and I do mean the only reason to watch this is for Li Fei (Richard Li) his acting is perfection as always. He needs to be in longer, better dramas.
However if you want to watch him in something more entertaining might I recommend Seal of Love. Even with the kind of open ending it's still a much better mini drama then this one.

With the summary and other reviews you already know what the mini drama is about so I'll just hit the main points.1. If you like mini dramas this is a great watch. If you don't like them... don't bother.
2. Highly entertaining. The good guys win.
3. Her voice (especially when she does the baby talk) can and will be really irritating. (or that could just be me)
4. The 2ML and the 2FL are very much a pain in the a** when trying to get the main leads attention. But they did move on with each other.
5. The romance part is very romantic.
6. Great kisses!
7. Little angst.
8. Happy ending!

"Most people’s eyes are shallow...."
"Most people’s eyes are shallow, seeing only the skin-deep appearance and not the ‘bones,’ the appearance of the inside.”.This drama has Ren Jia Lun and Bai Lu, they make up the outward beauty, the part that draws you into their story. But it's their connection, their romance, their determination to be together forever no matter what that makes up the 'bones' of this story. This is the inner beauty.
I watched this right after finishing One and Only and I can only say how absolutely perfect this drama was. From start to finish I loved every second of it.
I should warn you there is angst, needless supporting character death and a couple of characters, if you're like me that you will hate on sight.
If you like action, there aren't really any action scenes (aside from a couple of fights), if you like fast paced and/or spice, you should watch something else this drama won't be for you.
But if you love romance, slow, burn romance, slice of life romance... the sink into a blanket in front of a roaring fire romance, sweet, sweet kisses, warm hugs in a bathtub this is the drama for you.
If you're a fan of Ren Jia Lun give this a chance (especially immediately after you've watched One and Only) you won't regret it. My only regret is that I didn't watch these two dramas sooner.
