This is just my opinion after watching A Dream within a Dream, you do not have to agree with me. There are other reviews of this drama that are probably more to your liking.

Because in most dramas the ML is the loved character? LOL! Obviously, you haven't seen The Story of Minglan, Story of Kunning Palace, Blossom, Love of Nirvana, Lost You Forever, etc... none of those ML were the 'loved' character. I could go on and on.

If it was a parody then someone should have explained it better/directed it better/written it better, etc... because it just didn't work.

Watch for the laughs? When the Genres are: Historical, Comedy, Romance, Fantasy, one clearly expects more than just laughs.. unfortunately I didn't find it funny in the least.

The best thing about this drama was Liu Yu Ning but as I said unfortunately even he couldn't save it.

I get what you're saying and the ending was a good one. But for me it still didn't make up for all the pain and cruelty the ML had to go through, especially not from the FL.

The ending is a very happy ending. So it's worth seeing ML getting to be happy. But all the pain he had to go through.... it doesn't really make up for it.
