Firstly i wondered why this series is not rated 10/10 or atleast 9,After reading some comments i came to know that there are some flaws in the story line... But again if you ask me i would go back from my words, DEFINITELY NOT!!
I loved watching this series... Though there are some flaws in this series,all are ruled out by the immense romance of the main leads...😍 Both Mew and Gulf has a beautiful chemistry both On and Off screen.. You can watch this series only for them... And the series story line is also not that bad as mentioned in some comments... This series have so many cute scenes that will make ourself blush and give butterflies.. 🥰
The Series casting is really good!! Both MewGulf beautifully depicted the Tharntype from the Novel..You won't get bored at all, you will be engaged throughout the series... There is also some scenes which will make you cry hard(tharntype breakup scene 😢)
Personally, I watched this series more than 5 times.. 🤩It's my goto series even when I'm Sad or Happy...
I recommend to watch this series to witness the beautiful love of THARN and TYPE😇

the best thing abt it is the homophobia....
the story has is a 1 bc how funny the first episode is. show drops off as type gets less homophobic and it starts becoming Genuinely Harrowing. they failed at fucking everything they tried to do here lmfao. if u want an actually sensitive exploration into homophobia and trauma go watch until we meet again which came out the same year. I PROMISE there is nothing for you here unless you can laugh at how much it failed. not only is the homophobia played for laughs but it only gets VALIDATED by the story itself. i tried rewatching it for the first time since 2019 w my friend and we just found it rlly depressing.WATCH UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN INSTEAD.

Before watching TharnType, I had watched Why R U. I knew this show existed and I immediately recognized their cameo in the first/second episode. So after watching Why R U I knew I had to watch TharnType because of how well-known it is among the BL community. I really enjoyed this show; both seasons and special episodes as well. Mew and Gulf have incredible chemistry and play the roles of Tharn and Type better than anyone else could.The reason the rewatch value is only a 9.5 is because of the annoying characters who keep getting in the way, but other than that, I'd say that the rest of it is pretty rewatchable because of all the hilarious, interesting, and romantic moments that make up the show.
Bro and the theme song for this drama is probably the best theme song I've ever heard in my 16 years of life.
Anyways, watch this show because it's amazing.

at first I didn't watch this series and avoided it because I heard and read so much bad about it and thought it's not worth watching but anyway when I started watching it it was really good and i really loved it. also i think its really worth watching, and I don't understand why this series gets so much hate. but I learned that you shouldn't watch series based on reviews because people like and enjoy different things, but personally I would recommend this series.(sorry for misspelling english is not my nativelanguage)

This series has great acting but a horrible plot, I can say that the story is so intense in this series.Story: The story lacks something that the whole series makes it lowkey
Acting: Portrayal of Characters is the great thing in this series they make it look so realistic and really change my mood often while watching it.
Music: OMG!! The songs in this series help a lot and the ost is so great too
Rewatch: I think I can rewatch it because I really want to see the actors portrait their characters and the music.
Overall: Overall this series is great and I love it when it came out in 2019.

Pretty good
It was personally really good! The plot was unusual and I was honestly shocked. The acting was great and I loved the characters a lot. Although some parts were a bit confusing, I figured them out shortly after. Although I didn't see any warning for some of the stuff that happened. THIS IS A WARNING IF YOU'RE GOING TO WATCH THIS; IF SCENES OF SEXUAL ASSAULT, BREAKDOWNS, BREAKDOWNS IN SHOWERS (NEAR SUICIDE ATTEMPT IN MY EYES) TRIGGER YOU, PLEASE WATCH WITH CAUTION. THERE WILL NOT BE SCENES SHOWING VERY MUCH OF THESE THINGS BUT THIS IS FOR YOU TO BE CAREFUL. I really enjoyed the side characters' stories too! Exciting, Thrilling, spicy and toxic.
I love this drama despite the toxicity, Its ok to watch as long as you recognise these aspects of the drama for what they are and don't try and justify it for other reasons. Type is toxic due to his past however this does not forgive his behaviour.The forced cohabitation is interesting and brings up some fun scenarios that they have to work alone or together to overcome their own worries and prejudices towards each other. It is defiantly an interesting show with very few dull moments.
The ending plot twist is traumatic to say the least and didn't need to go that far. If I rewatch it I always skip the end parts because omg the villain character is terrible and really nasty.

This isn't a kind of relationship I would condone in real life. But this is a work of fiction, and sometimes this is the kind of story I want to watch. Maybe I have a few underlying issues in relation to that, but that's not really relevant. I also went into this known that while the series is very popular, there are also many reviews that felt too skeeved out by some of the circumstances of the show. So maybe i was prepared for things in ways other viewers weren't, I don't really know
Compared to series like 1000 stars and LoveSick (both of which I absolutely loved) where he one get a handful of kisses combined between all the episodes of both series, there was a lot of intimate content in TharnType, which I think greatly contributes to the popularity of this series despite all the problematic themes. Personally for me, it was enough to make up for any moments I found to be a bit too problematic, and I've already rewatched those scenes many times during my first watch of this season. When it comes to rewatches in the future, I don't feel like there's many moments I would skip over, which I find to be exciting because that's not the case for most other BLs I've watched

Hyper problematic BL, entertaining train-wreck
Let's not sugar-coat it: the story is super problematic and showcases a fair share of toxic behaviours: from homophobia to non-con and much more...If those issues had been treated more realistically and with more sensitivity (or just simply more logically ), it would have been better in terms of characters growth as well as relationship development. I found the build up of the romance totally non-sensical: the big shift from disgust to passion seems like a jump and the scenario did not make it believable at all. Overall, the side characters are not interesting and sometimes appear annoying or even unlikable.Regarding the cast, they did not impress me. They did better in the cute / sexy moments than in the deep emotional ones. I do not blame the main actors as I think the issue is foremost the senseless plot making it very difficult to believe in their characters relationship.
But to be fair, not sure that the objective of the show is to provide a well-conceived BL romance, it seem more like some kind of fan-fiction scenario coming to live with queasy and dark fantasies not well addressed. There were a lot of directing and editing issues making the flow of the story too abrupt and nonlogical. That's why funnily enough, I even thought that some of the intimates scenes were dream sequences coming from the imagination of the protagonists because they seemed so out of place and out of characters...but they were real...
Despite all of these flaws, it is to be noted that the drama is entertaining to follow, with some hot scenes. The show is never good, but it gets a bit better in its second part (in terms of story as well as acting).
I would not necessarily recommend this to people as there are better BL stories. However, this specific series seems to be a staple of the BL Thai drama world so it might still be worth your time depending what you are looking for. Proceed with caution if you have any trigger.

tharntype is my guilty pleasure
when i finished watching this drama i gave it 10 stars, bcoz it was one of the first bl drama ive ever watched and i was just mindblown but the more time passed the better i realized that this drama has some serious problems with storytelling and plot.one of the major problem was how they treated type's childhood trauma. i don't wanna share main spoilers but i cringe every time i remember the first time tharn/type kissed. that scene was just wrong.
acting was really good, chemistry between actors is so damn good, i barely can name any other couple who has that kinda crazy chemistry off or on screen.
even tho there was too much drama and overreacting and also unnecessary storylines, id rewatch this drama again, just bcoz i loved acting/actors.

Type and Thran Go to Therapy
This is a drama of its time. While I can get in for some contractions and to explore some darker topics. This felt like many great themes to explore but none were explored to its potential. Admittedly, Type is not my favorite character; the only redeeming quality is that he apologized to his friend. IDK Tharn who would a roommate and a crush like Type, you also need therapy for your hero complex.Was this review helpful to you?
Nothing that truly stood out to me
I have my fair share of BL dramas with plain plot, one dimension character and not much substance and Tharntype definitely falls into one of those categories.The plot was simple. Could have been an excellent one of a homophobic character with a tragic back story that left him traumatized slowly accepting his sexuality and getting over the trauma through the help of a gay man. Yet they needed to mess it up by making both he characters always taking stupid decisions and being toxic, messy and outright assaulter. The main problem of the characterization and writing is, it showed incidents that shouldn't have been normalized and made it a part of the plot that directly affects it. This was a product of a bad writing. I wished they explored each of the characters and their background story even more. However the romance aspect of the series was much more better and enjoyable. Every romantic scene was well written and directed.
The direction and pacing of the drama was too slow. They kept extending the minutes by showing clips that could have been edited. For a 2019 drama the quality was not bad. The frames and the sets looked good.
Gulf was a newbie in TharnType so I will exempt his acting skill from judging. However gradually as the show progressed it became much better. Mew was good with his characters. Overall the acting was average. But MewGulf truly served great on screen chemistry. The romantic scenes looked really cozy, realistic and domestic. The last 2 episodes were best in terms of acting. The kissing scenes were not awkward so was the NC scenes. This was kinda ground breaking in terms of on screen physical affection because most dramas airing before or around the same time didn't have as much well executed romantic scenes as this one.
It wasn't a bad show but a bad characterization of the characters and a linear plot. If you don't want to miss out on the classics then this is a must watch/ There were definitely pros and cons.
