Crash Landing on You Review - ZyKuu

"A love that transcends law" - The story was written excellently and I found no holes within the plot. Everything made sense and this show did a great job on providing insight upon how both North and South Korea operate and work together when needed. I loved the cast especially the two main leads Se-ri and Jeong-hyeok. Their personalities were polar opposites which resonates with where they are originally from. On screen their partnership and relationship was admirable and they were a perfect pair. I'm happy to know that they are married in real life. Cheol-gang was one of the greatest villains I have ever witnessed as he nailed his role perfectly and he gave off the performance needed to create tension and discomfort within the viewers. The secondary couple Seung-jun and Seo Dan were charismatic leads in their own regards, I enjoyed their relationship and and I found them to be key pieces pertaining to the story. Jeong-hyeok's comrades carried the comedic segments of the drama. Chi-Su, Eun-dong, Ju-meok, and Gwang-beom were amazing together and were very entertaining. All four of them had nothing in common except their pride to defend North Korea and their loyalty to Captain Ri Jeong-Hyeok, which was admirable. The OST was great and the drama contained many songs to fit different themes. Overall, this drama was most definitely a classic, and everyone must watch it!

Classic lovers in opposite camp story done right

imagine wanting to kill yourself in Switzerland but then years later when you actually want to live you're stuck in... North Korea

Lmao

Now, this drama isn't perfect, but this is the couple to end all couples. If you didn't believe in the power of love, this drama will rectify that. Their love was so deep and absolute it transcended enemy country borders and could conquer any adversity, and even... break the fourth wall, as apparently being together on-screen wasn't enough for them! Their chemistry was too good.

And so Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin got married afterwards in real life too. Makes the whole thing even more wholesome and heartwarming.

Life goals.

This is an emotionally stirring drama. Very earnest.

This is a must see!!

It's a star-crossed (borders) lovers story. Reminiscent of an old classic romantic story, this drama overflows you with warmth and sweetness but at times, hits you with poignant scenes that reminds you of the cruel reality of the two nations (namely, South Korea and North Korea) that were once together but are now divided by a line.
This drama is fast-paced and celebrates the tropes, includes special cameos and easter eggs which makes it super enjoyable and fun to spot for kdrama fans. Although set in real places, and has used elements detailed by NK defectors (hooray for good research) that has helped realise the NK world, it's still considered fictional, so please don't take the drama too seriously!

Crash Landing on you is the best

Crash Landing On You is by far the best kdrama in my opinion, it was my first kdrama that I ever watched! and it got me into them... alot,

It's such a sweet and heartwarming story, and it will forever have a special place in my heart, all the characters are so lovely and funny too! Capitain Ri's crew is by far the best though! they are all so special!

I can't get over the fact that capitain ri and se-ri got together in real life!!

Overall this is the best kdrama to ever exist, and I really recommend that you watch it!

First Asian Drama I Watch

First Asian drama and KDrama I watch and I got hooked since then.
Did not expect the whole experience to be very entertaining and fun! CLOY is a fictional melodrama and East-meets-West type of love story with a very relevant plot concerning the situation in the region and a love relationship that goes beyond borders and nationalities. I enjoyed every everything about it, the plot, the actors and actresses, the whole production.
I recommend this as a must watch for anybody who is just begiining to appreciate watching Asian drama.

A Strong and Entertaining Drama That Runs Too Long

This is a very entertaining drama with strong characters and excellent acting. The cast fits their roles well, and that makes the performances feel natural and convincing. One of the show’s biggest strengths is how well the action, logic, and drama work together. Instead of feeling disconnected, these elements support each other and help the story stay engaging.

The beginning is especially strong. It draws the audience in quickly, introduces the characters effectively, and builds momentum in a way that makes the drama easy to enjoy. The early episodes set a high standard and give the series a lot of energy.

However, the drama begins to lose that sharpness in the middle and toward the end. The story starts to feel stretched out, and some scenes last longer than they need to. That hurts the pacing and weakens the overall impact. Ironically, many dramas have the opposite problem and feel too short, but this one feels too long.

It really seems like this should have been a 12-episode drama instead of 16. With fewer episodes, the story would likely have been tighter, more focused, and more effective from start to finish. Even with that pacing issue, it is still a very enjoyable series because the acting, characters, and balance between action and drama are all done so well.

Watch it again and again!

This beautiful story has so many unexpected twists and turns to keep the viewer engaged! Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin are perfect in their roles! They are accompanied by a stellar supporting cast. You also can't help but love the villains because the acting is just outstanding, even among the children. True, there are some depictions of N. Korea that are inaccurate (bright clothing, for example), but overall there was so much research and thought put into this drama. I have watched it three times and recommended it 300 times! You will not be disappointed, but you will laugh, you will cry, you will sit on the edge of your seat! Great for men and women to watch, or watch together. Not my utopian ending....I would have done a couple of things differently, but I'm in love with this drama and every actor.

I actually liked this so much I watched it twice

At times it was silly and quite ridiculous. But when it aimed at your emotions? It hit true every single time. Hold on tight and reach for the tissues box. The chance of ending up in tears is high with this one.

This was my first time ever watching a K-drama, and I've gotta say, never before have I seen as much crying as I did on this show. Every single episode either one or both leads ended up crying, and it may or may not have tugged at my heartstrings (it definitely did).

The main couple was marvelous and had incredible chemistry. And all the supporting characters were also great. I especially loved Captain Ri's subordinates. So many laughs with those four. The provided amazing comic relief and were a bunch of lovable goofballs.

Thoroughly enjoyable first experience, I look forward to watching plenty more.

Perfect

It's 2:24 AM as of writing and I just finished crash landing on you and it is the most invested I have ever been in a romance the whole thing was absolute perfection I loved every second. Not a scene or character or performance out of place the OST was beautiful the romance was genuine and the action was fantastical I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a good show whether or not you're into K-dramas the relationship between Se-Ri and Captain Ri is exemplary and challenges even Jamie and Clare from outlander (my favourite romance up until this point) this show has something for everyone and I'd highly suggest you give the first episode a go.

rom/com with some sad bits

Life is too short for stressful drama. Why spend all that time watching and be stressed? Don’t our lives already provide enough of that?

Summary of the series:
- Light hearted rom/com; series had great flow; a few sad bits sprinkle in
- cute mature romance
- simpatico characters
- strong female lead; FL is smart and carries the show
- is it me or the ML is pretty much one dimensional, but I guess that is his character; ML does come off as very caring
- some added villains, some struggles, calamity or miscommunications to cause some drama and stress
- it s well put together, even with some sad bits, it was great to watch
- its a good story focusing primary on the ML/FL; the secondary couple was good to watch as well

mostly joyful, stressless series: recommended to watch for sure

If you are looking for gratuitous stress/drama, frequent miscommunications, insipid side stories, then this is not for you.

One of the best drama's Show i have ever seen up till date

up till now one of the best Drama Show i have seen ever. This one sets the bar for other drama's. Production is good, Story is very good, acting of both main leads are awesome to watch, The VFX is great and on top of this all the OST is just awesome. I am a indian but if i listen to the songs, i get so emotional. This is just a Show you really have to watch. The emotional scenes are very well acted and directed. So nice to see the two main leads on screen, They are so much matching in reel life, but also in real life. Hope Hyun Bin & Son ye Jin get married very soon......Thanks for delivering such kind of show and performance, i really enjoyed every second of this SHOW.

quite average, but a good average

I didn't feel like writing a review but I saw too many 10/10 as well as 5/10 so I thought it'd be nice to give an opinion as a 7, an average.

This a very romantic drama, the good thing about it is that it gives a little bit of comedy as well as drama and action and plot twists.

However, outside of the main leads, the other storylines kind of feel rushed, the second leads did get screentime for once, but at what cost ? It feels like they were used as the tragedy element in order for the main leads to get a full happy ending. To be honest, it could have worked well but it was just poorly executed.

Apart from the second leads development (that started so well by the way), this drama was actually so enjoyable, the boy squad was so chaotic and Seo Dan is so so gorgeous.

I'll probably rewatch someday but it had no business being this long (maybe putting the ending scene of each episode at the start of the next didn't help...)
