This is a classic Jdorama that is a gem. The difference here is the ML is way older than the FL. The ML is an out of luck old and not so good looking male who lives with his younger and handsome brother. The FL is a pretty 30 yr old woman whoives with her younger sister. Both the FL and ML was pushed to do a blind date not knowing that it will be the start of the chasing of the ML to FL. The ML thinks he is out of league with the FL yet he moved her out of pure love and sincerity. Must watch this if you want to smile and cry. The real life actors in this series are already old and can't help but imagine how it was in the 90s.
Both Tie Me (K)not and 101st Marriage Proposal showcase how authentic, unwavering love can help heal past traumas and empower a strong woman to reclaim her emotional strength. Both dramas center around a female lead deeply wounded—Lalita from abuse, Kaoru from grief—whose emotional healing comes through the steadfast, caring love of the male lead. In Tie Me (K)not Lalita finds empowerment through her journey and Toey’s support; in 101st Marriage Proposal Kaoru learns to move forward and embrace love again through Tatsuro’s persistence.
101st Marriage Proposal is a "Beauty and the Beast" story starring Takeda Tetsuya (Virgin Road, 3-nen B-gumi Kinpachi Sensei) as a down-on-his-luck man who has gone through 99 omiai (arranged dates with the intention of marriage if the date goes well). Not particularly smart, nor handsome, nor rich, he is a man who cannot lie and of course, has a heart of pure gold. On the 100th omiai, he meets Kaoru (Asano Atsuko), an extremely beautiful and talented cellist who can't forget her dead fiancee.
