It's a feel good action comedy that just hits the spot. The plot might seem typical: a spy mission gone wrong. However, the writing is pretty hilarious. I found myself laughing out loud many times. Sometimes it just hits you at the most unexpected moments. The action is pretty good too. I really loved some of the close combat fight scenes in this movie, especially the knife fight toward the end. The two main characters are such an odd pair, but somehow they make a good team. Overall, a great movie if you're looking for laughs. It's just a fun spy movie.

Hilariously good!

I really love Kim Young Kwang. He is famous but I feel like he is so underrated!

Anyway, about the movie, it is really a fun action movie. I want more. They can make a series of movies out of it. It 's nice and entertaining. I didn't even noticed that almost 2 hours have past and the movie is done already.

ML and FL have good chemistry. They work well together. Love them. The story is okay, kind of the typical action movie with illegal fire arms and gangs involved. But the actors portrayal of roles are good. The misunderstanding that created the ML and FL partnership was also done smoothly. It wasn't absurd. The action scenes and funny scenes are well balanced. Loved it.

I recommend you to watch it too. 😉

RV fans, please watch it. ML role is an RV fan. 😂

GOOF COMEDY

Looking for a Goof comedy with a secret agent concept?
Here it is.

The movie is fun to watch, even the action is goofy xD
And the cluelessness is hilarious.

Although it starts a bit slow but turns to the fun part right after 10 mins.
The plot is stupid but it's intentional to create a havoc and insert comedy in between , makes a great combo xD

The acting is magnificent.
Even the physical elements in the movie represent comedy.
Overall a fun package on a Sunday afternoon.

2021 film. Really pleasant little comic-spy thriller. Kim Young Kwang and Lee Sun Bin as the leads have good rapport and timing with each other and the villains are excellent as well. Good script and direction and the right sort of soundtrack. Composer, Chong Jee Hoon. Director and screen writer Kim Hyung Joo.

A planned series is in the works with the same leads and same director. Best of luck. Dramas are not movies and vice versa as we are learning now with shorter series which stumble between intimation and explication.

Light-hearted action-comedy 'secret agent' movie

This film officially enters my favorite Korean movie list. I love the overall plot of the story wherein along the way a misunderstanding happen but both main leads overcome it together. I wasn't expecting the twists that are presented throughout the movie and you should watch out for them too. There were subtle clues about it from the start but I didn't think much about it until it surprise me. I don't want to spoil anything so you should watch to know.

I watched it mainly because of Lee SunBin but then I am surprised that Kim YoungKwang is the main lead here so I got a one plus one bonus. Their chemistry is honestly good (I'm sorry KwangSoo but for a moment I thought YoungKwang and SunBin looks good together too.) Their bickering doesn't feel off at all. It was so natural that I feel like they've been working together for years. That's some real partnership in there. Specially this is like 'secret agent' / 'spy' movie so the smooth chemistry of the main lead made the movie better overall.

One of the selling point of this movie for me is the overall flow of the story, even though it's below 2hrs they were able to add depth on the story which makes it more interesting to watch. We've seen a bit of the male lead's life so if there will be a sequel, I hope that we get to know more about the female lead. The comedic relief on the movie is also subtle but still a big factor in setting the tone of the movie to being light-hearted contrary to the too serious issue at hand which is the firearm smuggling.

I really recommend it for a weekend/rest day watch. It's light-hearted, funny, cute and intense at the same time. I hope you emjoy this movie as much as I did.

Just for Laughs

I did not have much expectation before starting the movie. I thought it would be the usual spy-kind-of-movie but I was proved wrong. It was very fun and I laughed a lot during the watch. I had to get through the first 20-minute mark though. The real fun started after that brief introduction. Not all movies will pique your interest right from the start just like this one but the movie deserved a chance to be watched. I especially like the fighting scenes. As expected from Korean action directors, it was very witty. The leads' chemistry is unique too. Not something that you will always see but they have pulled off the perfect chemistry suitable for the movie's vibe. Their chemistry added fuel to the fun.

If you're up for a movie that won't require a lot of thinking but is more on laughing, this one is for you.

Best 105 minutes!

Summary: Love, love, love it! I want more! Never a dull moment from the beginning. Lee Sun Bin and Kim Young Kwang are amazing in this movie. Yes, it’s a short and sweet “movie,” an action comedy packed with lots of both Chinese and Korean dialogue and misunderstandings, and a nod to Red Velvet. Lol. I was trying to find the soundtrack for this but it seems difficult. The sequel is also equally difficult to find. I liked that they threw some Cliffs Notes as well about Korean politics and laws on firearms, accidentally educational. Lol. High on the re-watch list for me. :)

Details: At first, I was cringing so much with how incompetent Woo Su Han seemed to be as a private detective but it was great to see him and Yoo Da Hee shine, as they were haphazardly and hilariously using their wits to chase down bad guys. I was impressed by the fast-paced and sometimes funny fight scenes.

I do wish there was more of a love story and feel they spent too much time on a supporting character scene at the end that could have been used for the romance portion. I also wish there was more development with the leads’ backstories. Aside from those thoughts, I can’t believe they packed that much action, informative dialogue, and plot development into the less than two hours of movie! Great use of my spare 105 minutes. ^_^

The ending was a little strange with some loose ends but perhaps it was meant to lead to a sequel, which has yet to be released by now (in 2025). Lee Sun Bin already move on to another great drama in The Potato Lab (which is unfortunately a long drawn out show). How do we get a sequel out of Mission Possible, people??

Side Notes:
- What exactly happened in Woo Su Han’s past that got him dishonorably discharged from his special unit?
- What is Yoo Da Hee’s background to make her so resilient and powerful against opponents?
- Why couldn’t anyone find the missing special agent that was supposed to support Yoo Da Hee?
- Who is the Russian informant and why are they significant to the story?

a typical action comedy that was still entertaining. their comedy sense at points reached a childish point, but a few scenes made me laugh alot, my favorite was that redvelvet shirt scene xD

I don't know if it was a pun and he was called yuri or he was indeed also a redvelvet fan that's why he wanted to even the field for a fair battle, xD

the overall background conflict was kinda boring tbh and the fight scenes were meh but it was nice to see KYK do both a comedic role and a somewhat serious one and I think this was the best balancewise from his works, and subin is the perfect actress for a spy genre and they gave her good amount of credit though it seems they'll always make the fl hostage while the ml comes back but still she pulled her own weight and fight scenes well

This is the first time I’ll be writing a review here in MDL. This is so fun to watch. I was laughing real hard at some scenes. I can’t wait to watch the next part of this movie. This is highly recommended.

The plot of the story is kinda vague but it’s fun to watch. There are some unnecessary scenes and somehow chaotic, but the actors are both my fave and they’re both great. The action and comedy genre were on point.
I was happy that I get to watch this.

Even more possibilities

On the surface, it might seem like just another "spy movie" but this honestly would've made a great series...the possibilities and potential is great.

It's fun, found myself laughing and on the edge of my seat at times. The action scenes were really entertaining and well captured. The last time I watched Youngkwang was Pinnochio so I'm so glad I picked up one of his works, he's as an incredible an actor the last time I remember it. Side note: Don't watch the trailer, trust me--just come in blindly so you can put the pieces together yourself.

Overall, the storyline is nothing special but I missed these kinds of action comedies, just something lighthearted but thrilling at the same time. Also no, there's no romance but the chemistry between the leads was really great (loved their bickering). Oh, and gotta love the Red Velvet promos.

But really! This could've been a series, so much potential of both of their backstories. Which I WISH they really delved into WSH's background, unfortunately it'd be hard to condense into a movie. Same goes for Dahee and how she became an MSS agent.

Definitely give it a watch! I didn't even realize that time went by so quickly.

Basic plot sandwiched between fun opening comedy and great ending action.

Been awhile since I laughed so much during the opening few scenes of a movie. Does not happen a lot that I rewatch action sequences. Both happened as I was watching Mission Possible, sadly only at the beginning and the end.

It’s a goofy and lighthearted comedy with a small twist that could have made it even better, if it was used to its full potential. I wish they used the duality of Woo Su Han more - it would serve for both great comedy and great action.

There is nothing truly special about the plot, but with action comedy, it’s not a bad thing. I honestly believe the complex plot should not be distracting viewers from the entertainment a simple comedy delivers.

Acting was great. Especially liked Kim Young Kwang’s performance. I knew from the start the character he is playing is not what he presents himself to be and the acting perfectly carried the “unexpected” situations.

Overall, it’s a simple comedy with simple characters and nicely done action and choreographies. I wish they pushed a little bit harder on the jokes, kept the slapstick from the beginning more present till the end. The middle part just felt a bit empty and stagnant.

the perfect movie when you're bored

If you need some time to kill and you don't want to invest into a new drama, then look no further because Mission Possible is the one. The story is nothing special, typical crime plot with undercover agents etc. The story really shines with the leads, especially the ML. He's one of the few actors that can go from goofy to serious in a second, as seen in Guardians & Hello Me. He does the same thing here, as casually drops Red Velvet references while trying to save Korea from arms trafficking. The chemistry between the leads is alright, I liked the FL, but I think the ML really shined for me. I think my favorite scene in the movie was when one of the villians was revealed to be a Yeri Stan. All in all, it's your basic comedy action film with a lot of humor, some great acting, and a ton of red velvet references.
