AMAZING!! MY THING!
I watched true beauty last year, here I am writing a review... I rewatched true beauty 5-6 times... I am and will never ever be tired of it. It gives me literal ✨FEELS✨ while watching. The reason I wanted to write this review is cuz I want to thank TRUE BEAUTY, because it just makes me happy whenever I watch it, If I mean, Whenever, I mean anytime, literally, anytime. Ok, now, I will go through my rating, reasons..So first, the story. It was amazing! The perfect school concept. The webtoon vibezz!! The main part of this drama was the Love Triangle! I obviously gave the rewatch value a 10 because.. you know... I've watched it and can keep on going. The story was where Ju-Kyung was bullied at her school, she transferred and started using make-up as a disguise, becoming the goddess of the school. She then continues to live in the disguise. Falls in love with Su-ho, the *1* of the school. Su-ho, also, liking Im Ju-Kyung, starts dating. Problems arise with Kang Su-jin, who also liked Su-ho. Su-ho himself has a different story with his own problems. I don't wanna spoil it anymore.
Then is the acting/cast. They were so perfect! Eunwoo and In-Yeop with their handsome visuals, Ka-young with ther visuals and their personalities on and off cam was nice!
Now, for the music, OST, I have to say a single word, Extraordinary, I can even listen to it on daily-basis. I love not one or two, but all the songs from this drama. I definitely recommend listening to it. Definitely!
Overall, I love True Beauty. I love it!!! Definitely recommend watching it!

Perfect balance between funny and emotional and pinch of reality.
This is exactly what I needed to watch, the plot really touched me since I can say I've been struggling the same way the main character did. It really has an important message that makes you think about society standars. Loved how Suho started to fall for her not because of her looks but because her personality. The bullying she received because she was "ugly" is something we can see daily everywhere. I also loved how at the lasts episodes she sometimes when out with friends and Su Ho without make up and she was comfortable with that. 10/10. I strongly recommend it ♡.Was this review helpful to you?

True Beauty is one of those really good kdramas where there is a love triangle that ends well. I'm personally not a fan of a main love triangle, but this time it did not disappoint. Moon Ga-young, Cha Eun-woo and Hwang In-youp were all perfect in their roles. I liked how despite Lim Ju-gyung's looks, Lee Su-ho still liked her from the start. As the only one who had seen her real face, he was the only one who liked her as a real person from the beginning. Han Seo-jun liked Ju-gyung at first mainly because Su-ho liked her, she was pretty and popular. I feel like in the beginning Seo-jun didn't really like her, it just developed into real feelings along the way of mocking Su-ho. Although when Ju-gyung's face was revealed he didn't stop liking her which was a shock to me. This shows he genuinely liked her and made me feel a little bad when she ended up with Su-ho instead. However, what made this really good, is that the ending did't upset me at all. Seo-jun accepted losing her as a love and having her as a friend instead, and all the loose ends were tied up as well. Ju-gyung and Su-ho were together, Seo-jun made peace with that, and even Kang Soo-jin was forgiven. I thought I would never forgive her for what she did, but somehow when the time came, I did. Well that's how this drama shaped me. 100% recommend. Go watch it. (Ignore my rating for music, unless it's really good I just put a two for everything) Was this review helpful to you?
Can beauty of "True Beauty" go beyond fan service?
If you are a fan of either the original webtoon or any of the cast member, this drama is a delightful treat. But if you are like me who didn't find the original webtoon with substantial content and good plot progression, then this will definitely satisfy you, even exceeding your expectations. But what if you are a general audience who is unfamiliar with both webtoon and the cast, is this for you?At the start, it was difficult to get into the show. I was subconsciously comparing it with My ID is Gangnam beauty and how good it was. The thought that this is about a teen girl and her musings makes this feel very innocent and childlike in front of MIGB broke me free of comparison.
School dramas can be difficult to satisfy. There is bullying. Then, there is innocence in romance. There is unnecessary misunderstandings and overthinking typical of that age. True beauty has all of these. Yet, it continues to entertain, unlike classic school kdramas, be it Playful kiss, Heirs, Boys over Flowers with lighter characters. I was surprised that the characters convincingly look like and act like school going teens.
What sets this apart from the other school dramas is its perfect amount of interweaving of comedy and seriousness. I was tempted to drop if the whole "letting out the truth" would be very dramatic and teary but it didn't. Last four to two episodes had heavy plot progression. Especially the last 2 episodes felt like events were happening faster; so many, many things were happening. But luckily, there were enough comical moments like the secondary couple to make the mood light. Whatever issues happened were dealt with in the same episode or in the very next episode. Bonus, There is sismance, there is bromance. And there is The HSJ-LSH© level bromance.
Additionally, nobody is a jerk here. There is one or two but you can't hate that person and they get their bitter medicine as well. But what was best is the character transformation of MC coming out strong and bold. Of course, both the male leads were interesting. I'm gonna glide over the entire love triangle because talking about it means dealing with spoilers. LSH has more amount of screen time as a love interest with LJK, as opposed to HSJ, so for me, it seemed like an unfair love triangle for HSJ. Again, it's a kdrama. I am neither team HSJ or team SH because both are good. Let the timing do the work. Let the lady choose.
When I heard there was a production for this webtoon, I wondered how well it was going to be produced. I was surprised money went to all right places, hiring a good screenwriter to write a solid and tight plot, good imaginative scenes to give the webtoon-ish feel, experimenting different episodic narration styles, and good music. I think I love all the OSTs with top 3- I'm in the mood for dancing, Call me maybe, and I'm missing you.
And the best part is how true the casting is true to the webtoon. CEW's acting of subtler expressions is getting better. MGY is gorgeous as ever. I don't think I would rewatch it again except maybe comedy scenes.
Undeniably, True Beauty will become a game-changer by heightening expectations for future school kdramas. Yes, the story is nothing new but it keeps entertaining being light-hearted and hilarious.

Idk what to say Im just leavin my opinion
This was the first Kdrama, I have ever watched, and tbh it was a good start for me to enter the Kdrama Industry. I loved the acting of Jukyung, and we all saw that she was in love with Suho. They perfectly fit together, and I really get it that people think that Jukyung and Seojun should be together, but for me Suho and Jukyung fit better together.I have seen many people only liking Seojun more because of his looks(ofcourse also other reasons I mean everyone has another opinion)then rather of what he did. He deserves Jukyung, but Jukyung belongs to Suho. How should it have ended then?
Did we all forget about Soojin? She did horrible things but yk people would do anything for love. Shes misunderstood and I hate that people dont realize that the most of them would do the same. Ofcourse not everyone but almost everyone.
In my Opinion I wanted Seojun and Soojin to be together, I mean they would fit perfect together. They would do anything for love. But Soojin did worser things than him. And lets even mention that she was bestfriends with Jukyung. Seojun wasnt Suhos bestfriend(later on kinda ig)but did he do things that made Suho suffer like Jukyung did? No. What im talking about is that Soojin and Seojun arent the same at all, even if I think they would fit together.
Although I must say I loved it that Seojun and Suho got a little closer.
Between dont hate Soojin shes my fav character because I get what she thinks.

Stuck with one problem
Honestly, I really liked this drama in the beginning, but later on, I felt kind of bored. I like the message of the drama, is where the title from, but I think that wasn't in the centre. In the latest episodes, the story circulated around the two guy leads and the main character. It was their triangle drama. I didn't like the way Seo jun is the one who makes soo ho and Ju kyung's love deeper. I think there could have been another option. Soo ho liked Ju Kyung from the beginning and I think it would have been well with only 8 episodes. And why bring Seo jun in all this?In the beginning I wanted or I was very sure about giving a 10, but now I will only give 5. I recommend "extraordinary you" over this drama which has the same director. The beginning "True beauty" matches with the title, but the last episode matches with a title like "You and me forever" haha. The message of "true beauty" was not strong enough. I felt the drama showed us more about the triangle drama.
One thing I loved was the OST. The songs are good. I really enjoy listening to them. It reminds me of the drama, but the beginning of the drama (Episode 1-6).
The last thing is fate. They know each other since they were kids so of course they meet in the future and got together. Seo jun does not have a chance. I would love to see a kdrama without fate. Even if it's a fate I would like to see that fate is not always true. I mean that your life partner does not have to know you since before. True beauty, weightlifting fairy Kim bok joo, strong woman doo bong soo, you who came from the stars, what is wrong with secretary Kim and many more. To all the writers, can we get something real? Fate is not in real life. And also if anyone has any tips for dramas without the fate thing, please write. Thanks :)

Fun, heartfelt, and catchy — with a few things I wish had been different
True Beauty quickly became a favorite for me — the music especially was stuck in my head for days! I really enjoyed the acting and the storyline overall. It’s funny, charming, and filled with moments that make you fall for the characters. But be aware, as comedic as it might be, you may shed a tear or two. Or many. The only downside for me was the ending for one of the characters (no spoilers!), which left me wishing things had gone differently. And while the show does center around comedy, I think it missed an opportunity to show a healthier, more realistic way of dealing with bullying — like reaching out for professional help, not just relying on friends. Still, it’s a fun and memorable drama that I definitely recommend.

True beauty Is a romantic comedy that makes you laugh, feel, and leaves a lasting impression
True Beauty is more than just a drama: it’s a perfect mix of emotions, laughter, and meaningful reflections. I stumbled upon it by chance, but it completely won me over. It tackles important themes such as bullying and self-esteem in a light yet profound way, blending sweet, funny, and touching moments. Every episode offers unforgettable scenes and small lessons about the strength of accepting yourself as you are. Cha Eun-woo and Hwang In-yeop, besides being stunning, deliver amazing performances, and their characters’ growth leads them to rebuild a special bond of friendship and mutual understanding. The lead actress is exceptional, bringing to life a fun, sweet, and authentic character that wins over viewers episode after episode. This is a story that stays in your heart and is highly recommended to anyone looking for romance, lightheartedness, and depth in one drama. True Beauty is not just a drama to watch… it’s an emotional journey that stays with you.Was this review helpful to you?

Equally sad and hilarious
This show quickly became one of my favorite shows. A bit in the vein of Gangnam Beauty and sharing one of the main cast members it was something easily drew me in. The characters are a big draw for the show. The Lim family is quite hilarious, the goofball dad made me laugh multiple times, I love the elder sister, and her relationship is quite comical. Despite the show being a real tear inducing drama, trauma and romance show it manages to go down a lot smoother with a lot of feel-good moments and laughter. If I was forced to describe it, a slightly comic book influenced and funnier version of Gangnam Beauty. I plan on rewatching when my DVDs arrive. I love Lim Ju-Kyung and relate to her quite a lot, she is an excellent lead character that you will fall in love with. I won't give anything away, but the stories of the two male leads also help drive the show. I highly recommend~ - PinkSpiderXWas this review helpful to you?
Best drama
I honestly miss True Beauty so much. Moon Ga-young, Cha Eun-woo, and Hwang In-yeop made the drama feel so alive and warm. Moon Ga-young was absolutely perfect in every scene, Cha Eun-woo was charming as ever, and Hwang In-yeop he really made the second-lead crush feel real. Their chemistry was just too 😊 😊 😊 😊That’s why I’m really hoping for Season 2. It would be so nice to see all three of them back together again. The story, the cast, the vibe everything felt so comforting and fun☺️If the producers announce a new season one day, I know fans will be genuinely happy. I’m definitely waiting for it, with full excitement😉🤗

Is it really "True Beauty"?
Here are some things I want to stress about a 10/10 drama for me. It has to be captivating from beginning to end; it has to have a high rewatch value; it has to not have a part where I want to spam the "skip 10 seconds" button.Let's dissect the story. It was NOT a lot to unpack. The story was simple and a basic Korean high school drama. It wasn't exactly terrible, but it's just basic. There is really not much special about the plot. It's predictable and meh. I think one point in time it just became a "which boy will she choose (even though it's pretty obvious which one)" instead of "realizing one's true beauty." This drama is basically all about lookism.
Now, let's talk about cast. First of all, this is very biased Team Seojun. I have been Team Seojun since day 1 of webtoon. Of course, I also continued to support him during the drama. Hwang In Yeop's acting was gold and a pinky worth of his chemistry with Moon Ga-young was better than all of Eunwoo's scenes with her. Since we already mentioned Cha Eunwoo, let's just say that I didn't expect anything better or worse. One word: lookism. I'll try not to drop too much criticisms because it might just look like hate. Moving on, Moon Ga-Young was cute but not best for the role. She's a great actress-- I just don't think teen dramas are for her. She's much better suited as the villainess (aka in Tempted) in my opinion. The support roles' couples were honestly better than the main one. Although these couples don't really contribute much to the story, they were full of chemistry. About the support character's acting, nothing really stood out--good or bad. The only thing that stood out was Heekyung's personality. All other support characters just blended perfectly into the background, as they should.
The score for the music is self-explanatory. It's a really good soundtrack for a webdrama.
Overall, I WOULD NOT RECCOMEND unless you are surely Team Suho or if you're an Eunwoo fan.
