Fun, heartfelt, and catchy — with a few things I wish had been different
True Beauty quickly became a favorite for me — the music especially was stuck in my head for days! I really enjoyed the acting and the storyline overall. It’s funny, charming, and filled with moments that make you fall for the characters. But be aware, as comedic as it might be, you may shed a tear or two. Or many.
The only downside for me was the ending for one of the characters (no spoilers!), which left me wishing things had gone differently. And while the show does center around comedy, I think it missed an opportunity to show a healthier, more realistic way of dealing with bullying — like reaching out for professional help, not just relying on friends. Still, it’s a fun and memorable drama that I definitely recommend.
