Just My Personal Opinion — Neither Negative nor Positive, Please Respect It
“2gether: The Series” (2020) quickly became one of the most popular BL dramas, reaching audiences far beyond Thailand and sparking a global wave of attention for the genre. While I can understand why it became such a phenomenon, for me it was more cute than unforgettable: a light series that made me smile, but not quite as special as many describe it.The story starts from a fun rom-com premise: Tine asks Sarawat to pretend to be his boyfriend in order to shake off a persistent admirer. From there, the fake relationship develops into something that is supposed to feel more real. It’s an entertaining setup, but one that doesn’t really add much new to the genre.
Technically, the series is nicely packaged: the directing is clean, the university setting feels believable, and the pacing is steady. The soundtrack is probably one of its strongest points — especially the song Kan Goo, which became iconic and perfectly matched the lighthearted tone of the show.
What didn’t work for me, however, was the heart of the series: the chemistry between the leads. Bright and Win both have strong charisma individually, but together I didn’t feel the intensity or emotional pull I was hoping for. Some of their interactions came across as a bit forced or too playful, making it hard for me to get fully invested in their romance.
That said, 2gether still manages to entertain. It made me smile on several occasions and gave me some fun, easy-going moments. But for me, it’s not “the series of the century.” It’s more of a light guilty pleasure than a truly memorable drama.
In conclusion, “2gether: The Series” is a pleasant and fun watch, but not quite deserving of the massive hype surrounding it. If you’re looking for something light, easy, and smile-inducing, it definitely works. But if you’re expecting an intense love story or a groundbreaking BL, it may leave you wanting more.

Sarawat - a star of the show
Although I did not think that finding a boyfriend (when you are a straight male) just to make a gay friend stop chasing after you makes any sense whatsoever, I quite enjoyed this drama. It started off in a weird way, but as it progressed it attracted me even more and I was curious what would happen next. The next weird thing for me was that basically everyone was considered "hot" except for Tine... though he is crazy hot.The biggest disappointment of this show was the littlest amount of chemistry between the main characters. I know that Tine was not gay at the beginning of the show, but he eventually turned out to be interested in Sarawat, so I cannot understand why he was acting so weird when they were in a real relationship. On the other hand, the guy who played Sarawat did a great job and he made me believe that he was head over heels for Tine, but the part that S knew all this time that Green had a boyfriend and that he planned most of the things that happened was a bit creepy for me.
The music in this drama was really catchy and I still play the soundtrack over and over again. A huge plus for the actors who sung live in this show (e.g. Bright - Sarawat) and for the video on YT that proves that - the one that Sarawat recorded on his phone for the music club.

Excellent Acting, Story okay after Rewatching
Sometimes, I think, I shouldn't rewatch dramas, because my rating changes after a rewatch very often. The story was very funny at first. After re-watching the series in its entirety, I didn't find it quite as funny anymore. I don't know exactly why, but some scenes didn't seem so funny to me when I watched them again, even though I took my time rewatching them. I first saw the series while it was on air. It's been a while now. Meanwhile, I don't find the story bad, but in retrospect it's not enough for an 8.0. But this is my opinion.
For me, a good series consists of many aspects. In addition to the story, it is very important to me that the chemistry between the main characters is right. Both in terms of romance and friendship. Both are the case here and it has remained so even after looking again. The actors are excellent. Unfortunately, I can't say with certainty that it's the actors themselves. I started another series with the two main actors and stopped because I found the acting very bad there. But that's my own opinion too. In 2gether, I think both Win and Bright play their roles really, really well. Maybe it's because of the characters they play. There are a few things that bother me, but that has less to do with acting and more to do with the Boyslove series itself. I come from a country where there are still certain stereotypes. In the meantime, I've also noticed in Thailand that there are always series in which some stereotypes are taken up. This actually applies to many series from GMM.
The music of the series is good, but not overwhelming. But it fits this type of series.
Overall it is a very good Series, mostly because of the Acting and Chemistry between the Actors.

Ace-friendly but a bit of a mess
Hard to rate. First half is super silly, sometimes cringey. Second is more serious and adds some angst (though still a little silly). Overall, pretty fun, but I prefer the second half. This show doesn't take itself seriously, and I love that. It's entertainment, and it knows it. And I love that it's asexual-friendly (though I know a lot of people complain about the lack of overt affection, but I appreciate it). Acting is great—convincing when both silly and serious. Was this review helpful to you?

The storyline had a solid potential
Folks, this was the first thai bl I ever watched. This is going to be my first ever review on this app as well. I'm not gonna make it an essay so dw. (UM SIKE-)1.STORYLINE (5.5☆)
The story started off so damn strong that I was disappointed with how things turned out in the last few episodes, mainly after their feud happened.
The whole fake dating into real love dynamic made me intrigued because it's not something that I have seen before. All the previous bl's I watched (mainly korean ones) did not have a deep/ interesting storyline to begin with. Oh, how I wished that 2gether had retained that same vibe in the final episodes😭
They could have ended the series at ep 11 and this could have been a 9/10 for me no cap.🤠
The ending seemed so rushed and it was just not it. LIKE THEY ARE BOYFRIENDS AND YOU END THE STORY WITH A FUCKING HIGH FIVE😭😭😭?!?!
I don't want a kiss but like- Sarawat can hug his friends but gives a high five to his boyfriend he just reconciled with......🚶♀️
Not to mention that this series wasn't the best representation of lgbtq+ community. It was packed with all the stereotypes and honestly, I was trying to ignore them becaus I wanted 2gether to give a chance so badly.
GIRLS IN THIS STORY- 😭😭😭 wtf is that #teamsarawatwives 💀 that whole thing was like a major plot hole in this series.
I have not read the novel and I'm glad that I didn't because there are clearly many differences b/w the book and series (got that from the comments) I would have been so overly critical and this series would have just left a bitter taste after sweet treat.
2. ACTING (7.5☆)
I'm gonna be critical here.
For the record, I love Bright and Win (literay have them as my dp🥺) and appreciate the way they embraced their characters in this series.
BUT some scenes felt awkward to watch 😭 idk what happened but some scenes gave me second hand embarassment that I had to pause and put my phone away to embrace the cringe 😭💀
It's Win's debut and it had to be a bl BUT LEMME TELL YOU, he did an amazing job acting as Tine. I believe that it's Bright's first time acting in a bl and he definitely did Sarawat's character justice imo.
Was it the storyline? The execution? Their chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS when they were in a FAKE relationship🌚 idk what happened to that chemistry when they got in the REAL one 🕳️🏃♀️😭
The side characters, particularly Mike and Gunsmile saved this show for me. THEY BOTH ARE SUCH A PERFECT COMEDIC DUO 🤣😻
The side relationships were okay, most of them seemed to be forced. Man and Type were my favorite out of all of them🦋
3. MUSIC (10☆)
Music used made this series more memorable to me. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE MUSIC. I've never heard Thai music before, but 2gether made me discover scrubb and their music is sooo good 😭🙌
Maybe my opinion is biased here, because I like the genre used in the music but idc 🙆
4. REWATCH VALUE (5☆)
So will I ever binge watch this whole series?!
HmMmMmmM....🤔
Probably no. And if I do, I'll just skip the last few episodes 😭
5. OVERALL
I felt like I was really harsh in this review, but it was all honesty so I won't beat myself up for that.
Will I every suggest someone new to bl world to watch this series??
I think so, because this certainly is the most popular Thai bl series, even now (as of 2022) with many fans supporting it. Someone new to bl world, will like this light hearted story and it will open their eyes for better bls out there. (*cough* bad buddy *cough*)👀
On the final note, this series will have a special place in my heart, despite all its flaws.
If you are unsure, whether to watch this series or not, don't rely much on the reviews, go ahead and try it for yourself ;)
Signing off
somi❤️

I daurn't knaur.
I loved this show and it's pretty good. But I feel like they, Sarawat and Tine, could've given us more ? To me, they kinda make it look like they're brothers. They kinda don't give the lovey-dovey vibe ? They give and show love to each other most of the time but, It just doesn't seem like they wanna do anything with each other, I respect that, I do. But I feel like I haven't seen them both go out on any dates except school outings or music festivals or something and I feel like they don't know each other that much to be able to give each other that slide of comfort and reassurance. But, I think it's just me. Overall, It was a kinda good show. Was this review helpful to you?

it's just a cute and simple show to watch when you're bored because its, well, entertainment.
I do not believe that all media should have to be revolutionary works of art to be considered good. This is not a masterpiece by any means. There's some awkward acting, annoying side characters, and weird sound production, but its a decent and enjoyable show. But at the end of the day this is realistic fiction, a story that could happen but, as far we know, its not real. A boy meets a boy and through a series of plot developments they fall in love. Its cute and simple. I watched it on a day I just wanted to be entertained for a few hours and it did just that. This series made me laugh and cry on multiple occasions, and when i finished it I was content. If you want to watch a simple digestible show that will keep you entertained, by all means watch this show. If you're going to complain about how it has no real substance watch something else and don't ruin the fun for the rest of us. There's plenty more super deep and life changing shows out there, this is not that, remember its okay to relax and enjoy something simple and honestly a bit comforting.
Its entertaining, entertainment media with pretty guys to look at. And most of all it's a cute love story.

One of Mah Faves!
Honestly, when I started this series, I thought it was going to be totally cliche without any spark in it. After continuing the series, I was completely dead wrong. This series brought freshness to the BL world. PLUS this series got most of us through covid.I loved how they focused on Tine at first and then secretly opened up more about Sarawat. Especially when sarawat revealed the video he tried so hard not to show tine of him being happy that he found him again.
The music plays perfectly on scenes that fit the meaning of each song, which was well done! I literally listen to the soundtrack every day, lol.
I've rewatched this series 3 times and the sequel 2 times and might add on 1 more to both, because I love this series so muches. PLEASE watch this series with an open mind and not because of people's reviews of it~

Bit awkward
Idk man.I kinda had high expectations for this series, considering how many people talk about it, but... the popularity really doesn’t meet it. BrightWin is, apart from the holy trinity, one of the most shipped in gmmtv, yet I can’t see much chemistry between them? It could be bc they’re young and therefore not that comfortable as TayNew for example.
Well, the storyline at first also felt very forced. The way they tried to give Tine and Wat moments to meet up, gave me 2nd hand embarrassment. The characters all sharing one brain cell, got really on my nerves. Especially bc gmmtv can do better than that. It got better in the end and the flashbacks of Sarawat are a plus, but overall it’s kinda meh.
Overall the series reminded me of tharntype more than it should... except for the sexual assault at least, but since there wasn’t much story, I missed the kiss scenes. TineWat didn’t seem like a couple at all, and it made me cringe a few times.
I do however love how they created a world where gay relationships are treated just as hetero relationships. No drama about being confused about one’s sexuality, no drama about coming out, no drama about announcing you’re in a same-sex relationship. 👏 (Which is the only reason why it gets 2 stars more.)
-26.11.21
Ps: I don’t mind to have romantic relationships with no sexual content, as not every romance is sexual as well. That’s totally fine. However, here, it was often enough implied they do have sexual attraction to each other, and do want to do physical stuff, but every time it got to the mood, it suddenly cut off. And the actors simply didn’t have much romantic chemistry either, their intimate (non-physical) scenes rather felt awkward.

Light hearted BL
This is the most popular BL Thailand every produced. The reason - 1. Good looking leads, it's ridiculous how good looking they are (ii) Light hearted, easy to watch and simply sweet- VERY HIGH REPEAT VALUE. To be honest, this is not my favorite show in terms of plot but i can simply rewatch any episode at ease because it's really easy to watch, not forgetting its funny. Can i just say wtf is wrong with the last episode. Totally makes no sense. So the entire competition only had 2 bands competing and Sarawat can just confess on stage and they ended off with a hi-5. They acted as if the competition was Oscars.. And Mil lost, so he can be with Phukong? Ok?????
Acting wise - much can be improved. The stand out in this show is Green. I might be cancelled for this but Bright needs to work on having more expressions.
Music wise - Absolutely fantastic - all of them are already in my spotify.
Plot wise - Typical BL, nothing special.
Chemistry between leads - Pretty underwhelming and poor vs other couples you see out there (OffGun, EarthMix). THey progressively become more and more awkward.

Simple Yet Effective
I believe that the series has a simple premise (hopefully) and as a person from a country that does not have much of these kind of stories, I laud the producers and the artists for doing a great job. It is my own opinion that sometimes a story does not have to be original, nor complicated, nor too realistic for it to effectively entertain. Sometimes, light and simple storytelling is enough. This series is becoming more interesting. The acting is on point, the comedic timing is on point, the gestures are on point and the way Sarawat looks at Tine says it all. It keeps me wanting for more and probably after it has ended I will be with those who wanted another season. One will eventually wonder what will happen years after they've become official.I have read few chapters of the story translated to the English language and I have noticed some departures made but those do not bother me at all because I believe that the changes do not really affect the flow of the depiction in the series. We should remember that in the novel, the reader what the protagonist especially Tine thinks and feels. In the series, we can only see it in their expressions and gestures and we should be thankful that the actors as so good in portraying their characters.
