I tried really hard not to hate the FL the entire time, but it was frustrating af. I kept yelling, "AHHHH! JUST GIVE HIM TO ME THEN FFS!"
Luckily, the ML carried.
Once it finally got going, the chemistry was 🔥 Thankfully.

Also, if I had $1 for every time someone said 'Sifeng' in the show, I'd be a millionaire. I stg, I was hearing 'Sifeng, SIFENG' in my sleep for days while watching this.
My husband even nudged me asking me who this 'Sifeng' was because I said his name in my sleep. Show gonna get me in trouble! LOLOLOL
Was just so repetitive 😂😭

I'd rewatch again, but definitely would skip through 2/3rds of it if I did.

Wonderful Drama

This drama was really wonderful, it has literally everything you need.

After watching ashes of love and Eternal love (TMOPB).. I neber thought I'd find another wonderful fantasy that can be in the list with those two, but this for sure has made the cut.

The acting was phenomenal, there was no bad actors, every person convinced me of there roles. My favourite was the ML, he's the best ML Ever, he wss soo innocnet in every sense, he loved the FL soo much.

The story was very good, the suspense and all the things we find out as i journey through this series was worth it. What i loved the most was the love story, the ML loved this woman for 10 lifetimes and you feel so much compassion for him that you may just cry. The FL also love him a lot, they both went through a lot and deserved happiness.

I would definitely recommend this drama, it was a pleasure to watch, you would love the leads and you would hate the villains, every actor did a great job with there chacarter, they made you really love or hate them. You'll also love a lot of the side chacaters, some of the stories were so sad, it really brought this all together wonderfully.

One of the BEST dramas

This is one of the best dramas I have ever watched. The story, the chemistry, the romance, the fight scenes, cinematography, everything is perfect.

Watching the relationships grow between thecouples was very satisfying and didn't feel like it was dragging on. I have nothing but positive to say about this drama.

I watched this over a year ago and I still think about it every day. The ending is very happy and satisfying. I'll probably watch it again sometime soon. If you're looking for a sign on whether you should watch it, here it is. Definitely worth watching!

Best Chinese Historical Drama Ever

I highly recommend this drama. Its a really complicated love story. There's alot of problem going on and as well as misunderstanding but there are also a sweet and beautiful scene between the FL and ML. One thing that I like about this drama is how the writer includes mystery about the past lives and true identity of FL. And how ML sacrificed for FL. This drama doesn't really have a love triangle but trust me this is one of the best drama ever. And to be honest when I first saw this drama I don't really expect much from it but after I watched a few episodes I started to really love this drama. The FL is kind of a cute and innocence character which I really like it.

Lengthy, but stellar

POSITIVES

A wonderful drama.

Music, acting, and plot were all realistic and touching (the highs were high and the lows were low), and the characters were solid and were developed well. I especially loved Wu Zhiqi and Si Feng. However, I do think Hao Chen should have been executed or tortured for everything he did to him.

NEGATIVES

Something that did annoy me was that the female lead was kind of mentally inhibited. The fact that she was so mentally inhibited led to Si Feng unnecessarily suffering for her on her behalf. Also, I couldn't help but notice that there was not one episode where Si Feng was not vomiting blood. I thought that was very repetitive and incessant. The directors were trying to over dramatize the event, but in an unappealing manner.

While, I would definitely not re-watch this because it's simply too long, the show itself is high-quality. While, I'm not going to grind through 59 episodes all over again (you would have to poison me to do that), I'm sure someone else would.

Love wins everytime

I see a lot of people have rated this very highly and maybe it’s because I've watched too many drama's over the years that it takes something quite special for me to give a rating of above 9. In my honest opinion this drama was great and had a very intriguing but sometimes cliche story.
Cheng Yi was by far the standout performance in this show from beginning to end. It broke my heart every time his character suffered but it got to the point where I was waiting for him to be hurt as it happened almost EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. If you play a drinking game where you took a shot every time he spat blood, you would probably be too drunk to finish the drama.
He is such a multifaceted actor and I could not imagine a better person to play SF. I am a sucker when guys start to cry because it's so much more painful to watch and you don't see it as often as appose to females as they are seen crying all the time. I've seen him before in the Nobel Aspirations series as the second ML but found him quite stoic and not very memorable. Could have just been due to the writing though and not a reflection of his talent. Nonetheless, he knocked it out of the park with this performance and I hope that his popularity will continue to rise as I cannot wait to see more projects from him.
Crystal Yuan played the FL lead well, but she did not impress during the emotional scenes. She was convincing as the playful XJ in the earlier episodes but lost her spark midway through when things got more intense. She was in no way stiff but did not convincingly portray deep sorrowful emotions. I am sure that after watching episode 48, you as the audience would probably cry more than she did on screen. Savage but the truth.
Their chemistry was undeniable though and I feel like a lot of people can/will overlook a lot of flaws in the drama because of this.
In terms of the story, I like how it was not super predictable and did have a few mysteries in there to keep you interested. One of the main reasons why this story is appealing (especially for the female audience) is the idea of a love story that transcends 10 lifetimes. One of its main flaws is the FL just seems soooooooooooooooo heartless in all of them except from the last one. I would have liked to see more of the 9 lifetimes when the FL finally realises, she loves him and suffers knowing she killed him. This is another one of the story's flaws as it seems like SF is literally the only one suffering, repeatedly. Some would argue that the XJ also suffered especially in episodes 48-51 but in my view, it wasn't nearly as much as SF.
SF suffered ALL throughout the drama trying to protect her. At the start I could understand that she did not have the correct senses to even know what suffering is but after she got her senses back, she still did not suffer that much. I am in no way a masochist that likes seeing others suffer but damn, these writers were hell bent on making SF shoulder EVERYTHING all the way to the very end.
This drama is not without flaws but has an amazing cast who are all talented. I really enjoyed the snake lord character as he provided some much needed comical relieve in a lot of the episodes. LL, XJ sister was also a great character who was brave, loyal and feisty. She also portrayed emotions beautifully and the scene where she abandons her dad and home for the love of her life was super heart-breaking. The music was good and played at the right moments to evoke your emotions. This is definitely a great drama and it's been awhile since we've had an epic love story like this so I can understand the hype.
Must watch drama but obviously it's 59 episodes so I would recommend starting it when you have time as you will quickly get addicted. Also prepare tissues as you will need them. If you’re watching with friends than please try out my drinking game I mentioned earlier as I would love to know how it plays out LOL

I have watched over 50 Chinese dramas and have been tempted once or twice to write a review, but turned it down due to laziness. Today, i am currently on episode 32 and I can't help but leave a note for someone searching for a new drama to watch.

Love and Redemption gives that romantic goosebumps and that painful lump feel in the neck i only sometimes feel in India movies. Its just miles apart from other drama, in all honesty.

I have to admit, having a very high score, with so many currently viewing this drama so early after its release convinced me to try out a few episodes. So, if it wasn't worth it, i will just drop it i thought at the time.

The intro gave me goosebumps for what to come. I was glued for like 2 episode, then doze once or twice through episode 3 to 9, probably because i have watched so many highly rated c-drama, so i developed an high standard overtime.

I was about giving up when the love story between the ML and FL springs to life, and it was just beautiful to watch.. Since then, there isn't any dull moment. Legend of fuyao came close, but this was still miles ahead of ashes of love and Ten miles of PB in storyline and acting even if they share some similarities, i mean i hardly have such lump feel in my throat for all c-drama i watched -- hardly.

In terms of acting, i will have to give it up for the ML, although the FM strikes really close too. Sometimes i feel sad for him and wished he just gives up on the FL to live a better life. But, he keeps sacrificing for his love through many lives they had together. But, i can't take anything away from the chemistry they both had. It was like they were couples in real life or something. Expecially the ML, his expressions throughout, towards the ML was genuine like wasn't acting, same with the FL.

The entire cast are just eye candies to watch. They were all beautiful and handsome in all, no single less attractive one, even to the much older actors.

So, i highly recommend this drama to those thinking about watching it, you will not be disappointed

Gorgeous cast but useless plot, just needless bucketful crying every other episode

Cast is gorgeous, cinematography and costumes are very good. Music not bad. And that's why it's so disappointing the way story progresses. Some needless drama will be there, it is after all a drama, but not quite this much!!!

Haven't seen this nonsensical plot progression from a good plot in a long time, almost every episode bucket load of crying, I trust you, no you lied to me, oh sorry I misunderstood you, will trust you in future; rinse and repeat. Poor hero keeps on crying, spitting blood and almost dying; Heroine's character is one clueless gullible person, sways with every new argument, except for our hero's.

Watch only if you want to kill for frustration while looking at beautiful faces.
Only stars for gorgeous cast and cinematography.

10 lifetimes and an inch of hope

This series may be long but it is definitely worth to watch. Honestly, I watched this three times because I could not move on easily. The story, characters, cinematography and everything else is top notch. The male lead gave too much emotion to the audience, shedding a lot of tears were a part of binge watching this series. The chemistry between male and female lead is too precious.

This is a heart wrenching and full of plots story but has a happy ending.

This is too beautiful to just put in words, I recommend watching it for you would also feel it yourself.

The best Xianxia drama I have ever watched!!

The best Xianxia drama I have ever watched is this. I have watched other xianxia dramas like The Untamed, Ashes of Love, etc., and this drama beats them all. Why I say so is because, the chemistry and the mutual understanding between the male leads are just top notch! The love between the two of them is undeniable. This drama will take you through loud laughter and rivers of tears, and trust me, you will not feel the time flies when you are watching this! The ending is a very happy ending. This drama is capable of giving some important life lessons too.

The graphics of this drama are extremely beautiful, and music also is very touching and breathtaking. Apart from the main leads' love story, there are beautiful side love stories of the second leads. You will never ever regret watching this drama, and you will probably re-watch some parts of it again and again since you cannot let go of this drama.

Beautiful and Heartbreaking

As a rule I always keep my reviews as short as possible and try not to include many spoilers.

First if all, I recommend this to anyone who hasn't watched it yet, but be prepared for some heartbreak.

Visually this drama is stunning.

The music is absolutely beautiful.

The cast is impeccably chosen.

The female lead is a very interesting character. The difference between the innocent Xuan Ji and her powerful alter ego is so well acted that you don't even doubt it.

The eternally self sacrificing male lead whose name is mentioned so many times in the drama that you'll never forget it is an absolute delight to watch. The actor did such an amazing job that even a slight change in his gaze portrayed so much emotion it was hard to look away.

I absolutely loved all the secrets and twists. All the characters were interesting to follow. Even the villains were fun to watch. You keep wanting to see more. You keep wanting to know more and unravel all the mysteries.

All in all, this is a very entertaining watch.
