The Best Chemistry Cdramaland Ever!!!

Love the humor, the storyline (except it could have been shorter) and most of all, the male and female lead. Their chemistry is just out of this world!!! This is the second drama I’ve watched starring Johnny. I just love love this guy. For someone who has no formal acting training, he is up there with the trained ones in terms of his acting skills. He is no ‘Xiao xian Rou’, and to add to that, masculine, charming and sexy.
I just love how the story ends with the motorbike scene, the story came to a full circle, tying things up very nicely. It has one of the best happy endings in dramaland. Personally, I mostly watch dramas to enjoy, to relax and escape from daily grind, so endings like this one is just perfect.
I guess the only negative is as mentioned above, could have definitely done with less episodes or have those episodes explore/expand Su Yunsan’s background and history with Song Lin.
I have since watched it again .

Disappointing by the end

That was a weird drama. They lost half of the characters in the middle and even the direction of the plot. While Song Lin becomes more and more warm and generous, Zhou Feng gets to be self-centred to the point where she chooses to turn a blind eye to the fact that Su keeps using her to get at Song and stays loyal to Su even when Song needs her, and even when her own career would benefit from helping Song. The only moment she thinks of going back to working with her boyfriend is when she's jealous of another woman helping him. If the genders were reversed viewers would never let the character get away with it. That totally put me off from the main couple and I just skipped the last episode, not caring for the ending anymore. 6/10

Too little depth, too much background noise

There is a lot of detail in the story, but it doesn't make for a lot of depth. Crucial parts are missing and the relationship between Qin Qing and Zu Yuolin is all background noise and an extremely distracting cacophony towards the end. Part of it is the acting of Yi Daqian - he's not up for a main lead yet and somewhere after a few episodes I suspect the writers tailored more to his style as it became a bit less annoying, but still he can't carry the role. And it makes the depth of the relationship unfounded and unbelievable. I think he can improve, he's just not there yet - he's still at the level he played in Eternal Love of Dream.

Who is ready for a lead role and I would've loved to see more of is Song Luo. I missed the arch in the U.S. and would've loved to see how she adjusted and if something would come of the friendship turning romance or not. Overall the females were more expressive, more vibrant and better in their acting. Dilireba, Zheng Shuijing and Zhu Yin are a pleasure to watch. The elder generation is just oozing acting experience, show for example by the way Zhou Younian supports his wife and also handles her stubbornness with flair and subtlety. It really feels like they've known each other for decades and even when mother Ruhui knows she's being handled by "Old Zhou", she can't help but let a smile of endearment escape her.

Don't kid yourself though. The mothers in this series are extremely overbearing and manipulative. Acted brilliantly, but still getting under your skin, making you bite your fingernails, plead at the screen and beg for them to gain some restriction.

But in the end it is the writing that lacks here. The main story arches could've been done in 24 episodes, maybe less. How it ended up at 51 (45 on DVD and streaming) is mainly because they started to write it as a soap opera. Which is all well and good, but then make a soap opera and don't postpone the ending of a finite series that everyone is waiting for. Writing fillers and product placements that are just far too obvious is not entertainment and I skipped over most of the issues that Qing Qin faces in episodes 38 and beyond cause it was just too hard to bear.

The animosity between Su Yushan and Song Lin is also underdeveloped. Sure - they are competitors, but the hate that Su Yushan displays is truly villain worthy, yet we don't have this big thing that happened between them. Maybe he overplayed his role or the writing just give him too many tools to be evil, but with very little response and background to be justified.

However, the parts that are good, are excellent and that's why it still ends up at a 5.5. Just be ready to skip entire arches if you don't find them interesting.

The drama that introducesd me to the C-drama Universe

My review will be very biased cos this was my frist drama and these two leads bacame my all time favorites actress,i can forget my name but I cant forget Johnny Huang and Dilraba Dilmurat..What happens when you put two seasoned actors together and tell them to have as much chemistry as the pharmacy next door? You actually get that,I have had trouble watching other projects where Johnny Huang is paired withother actress except Bright eyes in the dark,,Dilraba and Yang Yang had the same insane chemistry in You are my glorymShe is that good
I watched it twice, back in 2020 and later in 2024 and i will probably wach it again in 2027 if they dont get anothe project together.
BAck then i was new to Cdramas so what everyone is pointing out,I didnt see it,the second leads were really not interesting to me,i just loved hew the best friends stuck together lik glue, and instead of the ML having a side annoying friend,H ehad the iconic sister who i think carried this show, she was rebellious and loving at the same time, I enjoyed the hell character development she put her brother throught and it probably made him a better person..and how sshe played the role of a match maker.
Johnny Huang thrives in roles where he is relaxed and not commanding an army or a fire department lol and in tis he was like on holiday,He playe the role well,H e made you believe he is a regular person you can meet at a corner grocery store, the difference is that he is rich.
I tank the writers for not making the FL mother into a monster,we hade the 2FL mother do that perfectly well,we couldnt afford to have two of them
Overall, for me and my opinion, this will always stand at the top of my younger self drama llist.

If you liked "You're My Glory" you most likely will like this one as well.

I usually don't make review in this website but this time I have to do it, because honestly most of the reviews I have read aren't fair. (I know that everyone speak from their own point of view and I respect that)

First, this is a grown up drama with a grown up plot, and it's very well done and portrait (in my opinion of course), the plot it's not your typical teenage/youth plot (so maybe it's most user are youngsters that's the reason for the low rating reviews I have seem)

The plot it's not as simple as the summary shows, but as I said that this review doesn't contains spoiler, I won't write down what the drama it's about.

I will only tell you that it's a vey good and likable drama, the plot it's not the same as You're My Glory, however it's the closer genre of drama that I can think of at the moment so, I can say that if you liked YAMG, you might definitively will like this drama.

My advice is, if you feel attracted to it's plot or the main cast, watch an official trailer or two, and then decide. Another advice is, if you decide to start watching give it a try at least until episode 15 if you don't click right away before dropping it.

In my case this drama caught me since episode 1 up till episode 45, but I know we are all different and we have different likes.

My best CDrama couple

I just read a review where the reviewer was complaining bitterly about the amount of product placement. I totally get it and while I wasn’t as pissed off about the product placement issue like said reviewer was I do understand their frustration.
My frustration was with the second couple. I actually liked Zuo Yulin aka FiveThree and Qin Qing as a stand alone character without their romance. FiveThree was smart, nice and loyal. While Qin Qing was annoying most of the time and took her bestie role way too far sometimes she was supremely loyal to Zhou Fang and I can appreciate that. But they spent so much time on the second leads relationship and drama sometimes, it felt like they were the leads, if they had significantly reduced their screen time I believe this would have had better reviews.
Then why the 10/10 everything, the love I have for Zhou Fang and Song Lin runs very deep. They are my favorite CDrama couple of all time.
That accident rain scene, OMG, it gave me chills and goosebumps. I have watched a lot of CDramas that have good chemistry and whatnot but most of them felt like acting which wasn’t a bad thing because they are indeed acting and most of them acted super well but here it didn’t feel like acting at all between Zhou Fang and Song Lin, it felt so real, the way it felt so real and not acting made me believe that the rumors of Johnny and Dilraba dating might just be true.
Song Lin’s sister Song Luo was my favorite character after my couple. They started her off with the typical annoying teenager troupe (but it was a bit understandable because of what she has gone through) but boy did she become so adorable. I absolutely loved her.
Rewatch value is 10/10 (I have rewatched so many times and will keep rewatching) but every time I rewatch I skip all the parts of Qin Qing and FiveThrees relationship.
The second lead couple dragged down this series so badly but i will still rate it the highest because it’s my go to romance series.
Overall 10/10

I’m Enjoying this Series but…

I was looking for a show that wasn’t going to be too serious, just an easy watch, and I would say this series is delivering on that. But I have to know who approved Dilraba’s makeup. Because in what world does somebody wear red lipstick every single day, lounging at home, even going to sleep? I like her as an actress, but it’s too much 😂I know that fashion girlies aren’t always makeup girlies as well, but I find it hard to believe she wouldn’t wear other colors AND wouldn’t take her makeup off before bed.
Okay rant over, I still have half the series to watch lol.

There is alot of "Too Much"

This is purely my own personal opinion of the series :
I was attracted to the series because of the synopsis followed by Diliraba and Huang Jing Yu along with some other actors and actresses I have watched from other dramas. But after, with alot of effort, finishing this series completely, I would have to say that this series, despite having a good storyline, is TOO long winded, TOO much insanity and much unnecessary drama and TOO much "side shows". Yes, the casts - I would say - did do a good job in portraying their characters individually, including the 5 main casts. But I really feel it is so much a waste of time with this 45 episodes.

I actually skipped quite alot of parts, especially when those insanity dramas starts piling up. I especially hated Zhou Fang (Diliraba's character)'s mother from beginning till almost the last 5 to 10 episodes where she mellowed down. I feel that there is seriously too much unnecessary drama for alot of the characters and that it is quite poor planning / story line writing. It would make an ok or good first watch, if you have read and liked what you read in the synopsis, but I don't think I will bring myself to go rewatch 45 episodes of alot of utter horror.

The only good part of the series is, I love their music pairing and the 2 main couple pairs are adorable. That is about the only thing I like of the series.

Dilraba + Johnny Huang = fireworks!

The chemistry between the FL and ML is sizzling hot! I would watch show purely for that and the fashion eye candy.

I would recommend this show if you want something with humour and lots of eye candy in a modern day setting.

Story-wise, it's nothing new. Rich CEO falls in love (rather quickly) with someone he stumbled across in his industry. They have really hot and sweet moments ... then they have their arguments and misunderstandings.

The side relationships are really good too. The friendship between Zhou Fang and Qin Qing, and the sibling tag team between Song Lin and Song Luo. I rate this rather highly because the casting is quite perfect.

Downside? This show could have been compressed to 30 episodes but it went on until 45 episodes. To be frank, the last 1/3 of the show bored me quite a bit because the misunderstandings and conflicts just start repeating themselves over and over. There's also a little too much emphasis on the side characters (QQ & WS) in the last arc.

But really, Dilraba and Johnny has one of the best on-screen chemistry I've seen. Dilraba has improved so much since she's started acting and I would say this is one of her best works. As for Johnny, this is my first time watching his show and I'm 100% impressed. It just sucks that his personal life scandal ruined the ratings for this show when it aired.

Too long

Plot: I actually like the plot but second couple dragged out the story. Too many unnecessary fillers that bored me to death. I dropped this series few months ago and since I only have 5 episodes left, I decided to pick it up again. Thankfully, there’s a fast forward button so I could finish this easily and review it.

Acting: Nothing special but nothing to complain about as well. I think they all did a good job portraying their characters, however, no one stood out.

Music: meh

Rewatch value: Main lead’s chemistry. Johnny & Reba looked very comfortable and romantic together. Especially Johnny huang, I definitely could tell he truly adored her.

Overall: I like the main lead’s mature relationship and how they talked about their differences and decisions in life. I also like the story of johnny’s good opponent, it was subtle yet significant. This drama actually talked about traditional family vs modern family. That communication and understanding are also important. Good plot but poor delivery, so overall, a 5-6 rating from me.

Extra: Reba and Viann looked fashionably beautiful in this drama but ‘Wu San’ caught my attention. I have a huge crush on him ‘cos his smile is just dazzling.

Story could've been better, casting is perfect

The casting did a great job, although some of the supporting actors still need improvements though. The story is quite draggy, and I lost interest halfway through the drama, but I finished it because I love the actors and was interested to see the ending. Happy ending for villains is what I don't like about this drama, and the leads are too forgiving. There are no karma for bad character. Even FL's ex-fiancee who cheated on her, and pulling a fraud on her gets an okay ending, and FL ends up giving him money for him to settle. Furthermore, what I don't get about this drama is FL is too forgiving and trust other people easily, but treats her boyfriend badly even though ML gives all of him, which she doesn't deserve.
What I like about this show is only how mature the lines are. There are no acting cutesy or whatsoever, which I dislike. There is still room for improvements, FL dubbing is showing too clearly, I don't want to compare it to Korean Drama, but I have never seen any Korean Drama do any dubbing, or if so, they did a great job hiding it. But in this drama, the dubbing is too obvious, there are some scenes in which the dialogue doesn't match their mouths when they're speaking. The telephone ringtone is bugging me too for some reason, why can't they just use normal telephone ringing instead of a song, every character's phone uses the same song for the ringtone, and since this is a business drama, it's kind of expected that there are a lot of "calling" scenes, maybe 8-10+ per episode, so imagine listening to the same song for 40 x 10 = 400 times of the same song on this drama.

PS. I don't get why so many people are triggered by product placement (pp) in this drama. I didn't notice the pp at all, I think it's a normal amount of pp.

I really enjoyed this drama. I think Dilraba, who played Zhou Fang, is such a inspiring character in this. - I loved all the outfits in this show, and really enjoyed the storyline and the different things that happened between the two main characters.

I think both Huang Johnny, who played Song Lin and Zhou Fang really matched each other in the show! - I did find some of the kiss scenes a little cringe! But other than that I really liked this, and how they helped each other family wise, and in everything.

I loved the little sister, Christine Zheng who was Luo Luo! She played the sister so well, and it was interesting to see her develop and help the main characters be together!

I didn't really like the story of the two other actors, Yulin & Qin Qing! I thought the guy was so annoying, and like super needy! I just didn't really like watching both their stories, just made me cringe at it! - I skipped their section. But overall, I enjoyed the drama!
