Eri is the daughter of an American GI and an Okinawan mother. Her mixed parentage creates problems for her. Soon after entering school, Eri takes a part-time job, moves out of her family home and takes a small apartment in town. She is trying to make her own way in the world. She meets Sachio, the leader of a rock band. Sachio is an earthy young musician who was brought up on BC Street in Koza, the town that grew like a cancer around the gate at the US base of Kadena.
