General Chu receives a note to meet Hute who accuses him of killing his father. Maya arrives and orders Hute to stop as the war is over. Hute relents and releases Shen Jin and Xiu Yuan. General Chu also asks Maya for a top herbalist who tells him what the medication is. It is related to the 8th Prince’s death. Xiu Yuan rejects Tarou’s request to follow him. He also tells her that he doesn’t love her. Tarou then goes missing. Hute angrily tells Xiu Yuan and General Chu about his missing sister. When they find Tarou, Hute promises her that he will treat her better and let go of his hatred. Back home, Xiao Su reports to General Chu that his enemies have petitioned the Emperor to investigate his trumped-up embezzlement. General Chu orders Xiao Su to prepare the embezzlement evidence to flush out the enemies. He also relates to Shen Jin about his late aunt. He gives her the jade pendant that his aunt had left him. General Chu is busy and asks Xiu Yuan to take care of Shen Jin. Shen Jin agrees with Rou Rou that it is improper for her to get so close to Xiu Yuan. She confronts General Chu who laughs it off. He tells her that Xiu Yuan’s mother was his aunt while his father was the 8th Prince as well as Crown Prince. They were killed in a fire.
