THIS IS WORTH TO WATCH ?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

THIS SERIES MADE ME FEEL SPARKS AGAIN! Every scenes are so unpredictable and I always get butterflies from the main leads. 💙 I am shocked that this series really has a lot of budget and didn't do it dirty. I am surprised on the buildings, bus, Cheng's luxury car and computers stuffs. The arena also looks so cool! I love it! I also like how the episodes aren't too long and boring, this series is so beautiful! The story plot, plot twist, everything is worth it! Not to mention that all of the cast (main leads, second leads, guests) are all attractive. I feel butterflies just by looking at them. I would say all of them are great actors/actresses, keep going! Goodluck into your life journeys! Btw, FNC Kun I am hoping to see you again on Season 2, you're so cute! 💙

THE RIGHT KIND OF HAPPY DRAMA

As a drama fan, 2021 was filled with a lot of intense and dark dramas. And contrary to that, this drama was like a breath of fresh air.

STORY: The story is simple and sweet. ZDGX is an e-sport team and the leads are in the same team. They compete with other teams to win the national championship. Throughout this journey, they all experience wins, loss, happiness, heartbreak and many other feelings. This drama takes you to the e-sport world where their major goal is to win the main championship and to continue their career as a pro gamer.

ACTING: I found the FL a little stiff but considering that it is her first drama, I don't think that its a big issue. All casts have very great chemistry.

I would recommend this drama to anyone who is looking for a sweet, fluffy and light drama. There are no big misunderstandings between the leads , they never break up and there are no evil characters. They have a very healthy and mature relationship and the best thing is that their relation develops gradually. I've seen few people complaining that it is not fully an e-sports drama but I'd like to clarify that e-sports wasn't the only main focus of this drama. There are also other elements such as romance, friendship and comedy; and I think the drama has given justice to every element. The chemistry between the leads is like eye candy and you'll definitely enjoy it if you are a fan of light hearted, fluffy and sweet drama. So just give this drama a try and enjoy the sweet journey of e-sports, romance and friendship.

If you are interested in e-sports genre, then I'll suggest King's avatar, Love O2O, Go Go Squid and Cross fire.

Great friendship, great romance and no unnecessary drama.

I LOVED everything about this drama. The cast was perfect, and full of visuals and great acting, all the characters were amazing. This isn't a drama where you'd hate any character, in fact you'd love most of them and I loved that.

This was a really sweet slow burn romance where the leads have chemistry from the very beginning. The best thing about this drama is definitely the friendship between all the teammates especially in team ZGDX.

Another thing that made this drama so good was that there was very little drama when it came to the leads. There wasn't really any family problems, no relationship problems and even though there is the ex that comes back, it didn't effect the relationship between the leads in any way. There is a love triangle (maybe 2, neither if which were real) but it doesn't effect the relationship between any of the characters. There was nothing and no one stopping the leads getting together and just about everyone shipped them together.

I also really liked the second lead couple. They were a bit unexpected and I didn't think they would last, seemed more like a fling. But, they were actually really cute and supportive of each other. I love it when the SFL and FL are genuine best friends.

I liked the FL's ex, he was a great character, I just didn't like him as her ex. I didn't get second lead syndrome in this drama, at all for him; I can't understand why people did. I can never, and will never, get second lead syndrome for a CHEATER. A man who treated the FL like an object and only wanted her back because she was better than him at e-sports and he thinks she moved on. He reminded me of the SML from Skip Beat!, only here he was actually a decent person, only a TERRIBLE boyfriend. Yes, he's good looking, but so was litterally EVERY other character in this drama.

rewatch worthy drama

i can watch this 10 more times and still be interested with it. the plot was great. the cute scenes of the main leads r not cringy at all, i always skip kiss scenes but i don't this time in this drama. also got me more interested because they're playing a game, which if you like games like that it is more interesting to watch. every ep is interesting and fun to watch. the team got me attached. a drama that can get you hooked in the first ep and you'll want to finish and rewatch again. overall 100/10.

Breaking Stereotypes with a Smile: E-sports Meets Romance

TL;DR
A light yet engaging drama that puts e-sports in the spotlight, with a romance that blooms on the sidelines. While not very deep or heavy on conflict, it's a charming and feel-good series with solid performances and good pacing.

Falling Into Your Smile brings a refreshing angle by placing the world of professional e-sports at the forefront rather than making romance the sole focus. Set in 2017, the show follows a fresh graduate and avid gamer who becomes the first female pro player in a male-dominated scene. The series explores her journey from a passionate amateur to a true team player, navigating industry challenges, online toxicity, and gender bias—especially from older generations who don’t view gaming as a real career.

While there are multiple conflicts (family pressure, fan backlash, ex-boyfriend drama), most are resolved quickly—usually within one or two episodes. This makes the show feel more like a slice-of-life drama, highlighting small, day-to-day moments rather than deep arcs. That said, it maintains a light, upbeat tone throughout, which works well for casual viewing.

The acting is solid overall. The female lead delivers a bubbly, cute performance, though sometimes a deadpan acting while the male lead plays the classic cool tsundere type with great effect. Their chemistry really picks up in the last third of the series, with some surprisingly bold moments (like an on-camera kiss!) that are fun and satisfying to watch. The supporting cast adds humor and warmth, especially the teammates who have their own mini arcs and comedic timing.

One of the most interesting layers of this drama is how it portrays the e-sports culture, including how fans treat players like celebrities. It touches on toxic fandoms, online harassment, and the pressure on players’ personal lives—all of which mirror real-world issues. While not every detail feels 100% realistic, it gives a decent glimpse into the professional gaming scene and its growing pains.

The soundtrack isn’t particularly memorable. It serves its purpose but doesn’t leave a lasting impression.

Definitely rewatchable for fans of light-hearted romance and gaming-themed stories. The pacing is smooth, there’s minimal drama fatigue, and the characters are fun to revisit.

THIS IS REALLY A MUST WATCH E-SPORT THEMED DRAMA!!!!

I SO LOVE THIS DRAMA!!! FROM THE CASTS, THE PLOT, THE PRODUCTION, EVERYTHING! THIS IS REALLY A MUST WATCH DRAMA AND I REALLY HOPE THERE WILL BE A SEASON 2.

I have watched this drama for over 4 times already and i still can't get enough of them. Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao's chemistry is no joke!!! They will surely give you 100000% of sweetness that you'd feel that you want to pee on your pants. I'm not kidding. I literally rolled over my bed while watching the two of them. What i also love about the two is that their acting was really natural. Like they said in their interview before, this was their first team up together (HOPEFULLY NOT THE LAST) and they really just got to know each other better on set. And somehow that helped with their characters bc Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng did not know each other before as well. They started as strangers then friends who were always bickering with each other (seems like xk and cx irl tho HAHAHHA) before their love started to blossom. It came out naturally bc the leads also just got to know each other better on set.

OVER ALL, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TO WATCH THIS DRAMA!!!!

CRINGE AND THE CAPTAIN.......

KIND OF OVERRATED CRINGE DRAMA...

I have a kind of mixed feeling about this drama. I neither liked nor disliked it. The team spirit was good, the romantic moments were cringe, and the games were breathtaking. Though I am not fond of playing video games, the way they played the games was compelling.

The ML, as a captain of the team, performed well, but he was a clingy boyfriend. He did have good traits, such as being protective, supportive, unbiased, and a role model for the entire team.

The FL was professionally strong but kind of emotionally weak. She was inspirational as she was the only female esports player.

The ML and FL as a couple didn't stand out. I would rather prefer them as professional companions.

I would love to appreciate their entire team. It was their interactions that kept the momentum till the end. They had their own struggles and some mishaps, but they never gave up as a team.

This drama did point out cyberbullying. They showed how fans could boost up their morale but, at the same time, destroy them.

The perks of being a popular player were well depicted. This drama didn't only show the pros of being a popular player but also the cons. It showed that the players have a life for themselves, too.

OVERALL: Esports Glory, Romance Failure...😶‍🌫️🚶‍♀️

Full of Sweetness!

WARNING: LONG-ASS REVIEW. START FROM THE THIRD PARAGRAPH IF YOU DON'T FEEL LIKE READING EVERYTHING~

The story follows our female lead, Tong Yao as a pro gamer known as Smiling, recruited by ZGDX to play professionally as the mid-laner. Her journey as professional e-sports player is not that easy, the stereotype "e-sports is only for male" is one of her biggest problems. Often underestimated and constantly faced criticism as the only female e-sports player in the industry, she worked hard to proves that the stereotype is wrong. The male lead is Lu Si Cheng, renowned team leader and exceptional marksman of ZGDX, also known as Chessman. Cold, rational, calm and charismatic are the words often used to describe his character. He will do anything to protect his teammates, and believe that he can fix everything alone. In people's eyes, he is perfect. But as the story goes on, you'll know that he isn't as perfect as people said.

Ok now is time for my opinions and reviews regarding this drama. Despite the controversies because of plagiarism and criticism from the e-sports community, me personally as c-dramas lover and enjoyer, think this drama is really worth to watch. This really broaden my perspective about e-sports. From each characters' story, we'll get to know that to became a pro e-sports player/athlete is not that easy. It's not just as simple as playing games all night and day but e-sports player must train to became an excellent player. So many amazing players out there and you need to be at the top. It's hard right?

Honestly, I love this drama. I found myself squealing and giggling thorough each episodes. The love story between TY and LSC is so sweet and cute. I describe LSC as tsundere. I think it's perfect word for him. He always appeared like he doesn't care about TY but in reality he's whipped. REALLY whipped if I must said (**that doesn't make him less charismatic as a leader tho >v<) He only shows warm side to TY. Meanwhile TY had certain opinions regarding e-sports men players bcs of past experiences... Aiya being LSC is too hard~~(≧▽≦) I feel giddy everytime watching they interact. They're just too cute!

The chemistry between teammates is amazing. NGL in the middle of the drama, I shipped Lao K with Lao Mao (**their bickering is very cute lmao) and Lu Yue with Xiao Pang. For the acting, it's my first time watching Xu Kai's drama and I must said that he potrayed the character Lu Si Cheng perfectly. As for Cheng Xiao, it's also my first time watching her drama. Overall her acting is amazing but I think she got to improve her expressions. Other actors are not bad at all but there was a time I feel awkward with their acting (**not everytime). The game scenes is very movie-like, OMG I love it! For the OSTs, the line-up is crazy. I love every single one of them, especially Everytime by my baby WayV~~ I also find myself keep humming the ending song by Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao. Oh, and I ABSOLUTELY love that each teams have their own respective songs! It's my quirk >v< The placement for each BGM/OST is fitting, eg it keeps me hyped when the BGM is playing during competitions.

The only thing I hate is the Korean dubbing. I'm sorry but it's so cringe and I always skip the scenes whenever they speak Korean...

~

All in all, I enjoyed this drama so much to the point that I feel empty when it end. In my opinions, the story of this drama is quite light; so it's suitable if you want to rewatch. This drama is recommended for girls, especially for teenagers like me. Ladies, this drama is for you! Beware of the sweetness that will ache your teeth! I guarantee that you'll want to order a boyfriend like Lu Si Cheng (~ ̄³ ̄)~

A simple, enjoyable drama that puts a smile on your face.

This was such a fun watch. I am new to chinese dramas, and I honestly just wanted something sweet and romantic. Boy, did this deliver. The chemistry between the main leads was so good, and Lu Si Cheng, had me swooning over him. The romance was paced well and not too fast or slow. Once they get into a relationship though, omg. I can't handle it. They. Are. So. Adorable. The ML especially, he is so cute I don't even know what to do with my self. This is the first drama of Xu Kai's I have ever seen but ajhdgsjdsl. He is so swoonworthy. Apart from the main leads, I adore absolutely all of the side characters. Especially those on the ZGDX team. The team dynamic and character interactions were just so fun to watch.

Plot wise, there is nothing ground breaking or revolutionary, but it was entertaining. I did speed through some of the gaming scenes because I just honestly couldn't understand some of it, but there weren't too many so it was fine. I do wish, they would. have delved a little deeper and developed the some of the characters back stories that we say. It would have added an interesting flair to the drama, but considering this is a fluffy, slice of life drama I can't complain much.

The music was good, not too memorable but enjoyable.

I could definitely see my self going back to watch some of main couple's cute scenes when I need a pick me up or am in the mood for some nice fluffy romance.

A good watch for those days where you just want something simple, fun, and doesn't require a lot of brain power. It's a nice relaxing drama that is sure to put a smile on your face
