Hilarious and kissing moments

First half of the drama was focused on introduction to characters and e-sports which I like.
My favourite part is the second half of the series when the ML played by Xu Kai has made his relationship with FL public. There were plenty of lovey-dovey moments which show great chemistry between ML and FL. They had to face strong reactions from the fans who were jealous of such relationship, which is normal in real life but still unpleasant. I feel anxious for the couple.
There were plenty of funny banters amongst the teams which I also love, especially when they started to be suspicious of the relationship between their captain and their female team member. The incident in their gym was so funny that I was laughing out loud until I had tears in my eyes.
Xu Kai is my favourite actor. He is so dreamy! His kissing scenes were super delicious ☺️ he played this role very well, and I suppose that’s a credit to the screenwriters as well.
The FL is super cute. She was not clingy which is a great bonus and has made it easier to watch. She showed strong character despite her young age. She was actually the strength and super glue for the team that held the team together in challenging times.
The ending seemed a bit rush. I was hoping to see the ML and FL tying up the knot, but am still quite happy of where they got to in their relationship and career.
Overall, this drama is quite entertaining from beginning to end. With 31 episodes, I managed to finish watching it in 3 days, it would have been sooner if I didn’t have to work during the day 🙂Unlike some dramas where I had to stop watching because of bad storyline or acting, I highly recommend you watch Falling into your smile.

Simply it's the best drama. With a superb cast and story line. Unlike other dramas I get to see a female lead who is strong. The actors are too well matched or paired . They looed amazing together. And I still didn't get that how can everyone one in this drama is Soo good looking and charming. Every is just perfect the director has we'll set up every thing . Still I can't get over this drama. 😆 It all happened due too the amazing cast's acting and bonding with superb story lines and comedy.

Best Esports drama there is

Falling Into Your Smile is simply the best esports drama i've seen. This drama had it all and in good taste. The classical rom com with an amazing gaming twist. Clearly made in collaboration with Onmyoji arena and FNATIC, a real gaming team.

STORY:
Falling into your smile is about love and gaming. The story follows Tong Yao, an amateur gamer who fell in love with onmyoji arena while dating her now ex boyfriend, professional esports player from team CK, Jian Yang. Then one day Tong Yao gets an invitation from ZDGX's manager to join their team as the first female esports player. Tong Yao agrees and we get to follow her journey to the top. As a girl she gets a lot of hate but also admiration. She is labeled as Mulan of esports.

Our main leads, Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng are a bickering couple. Their love story was so cute that i wanted rewatch the drama right after watching it. Lu Sicheng is the best boyfriend and a really nice fresh character. Lu Sicheng loves to tease Tong Yao for everything she does, but when she is feeling down, he comforts her and when she is having period cramps, he takes care of her even though he himself is sick. When Lu Sicheng got jealous over Tong Yao, he never was overbearing. He always was respectful towards Tong Yao in that way. He did joke about her "Collecting stamps" and having "something against team captains" when he noticed that in many teams like FNATIC and CK, other boys started to notice Tong Yao's charms.

The story itself is pretty simple but it was so full of comedy and cute moments between the leads that it's a must watch for those who love rom coms or esports- or both. Not just the main leads but all the side characters are amazing, for example the whole ZDGX team, Tong Yao's best friend Jingyang and Ai Jia, her professional esports player boyfriend from team YWCB.
The gaming montages are everything in this drama. It was so high quality and fun to watch!

CAST:

Cheng Xiao as Tong Yao aka Smiling, i feel like she was an okay pick. She is cute and petite but i felt her facial expressions little lame. She didn't have many expressions and was pretty much a little bit dull. She did a good job but i would have wished for a little bit more spice from her.

Xu Kai as Lu Sicheng aka Chessman, Xu Kai is the master of facial expressions and is funny just by looking at the camera with a serious face. When he fell in love and became this needy cute teasing boyfriend, his facial expressions shined even more. He did an amazing job as always.

others that stood out for me were

Sun Kai as Xiao Pang aka Pang/Chubby, even though i sometimes wonder why do the "chubby" characters must make their whole personality all about being "chubby". I was laughing a lot for his scenes. Especially when he was always the one seeing Tong Yao and Lu Sicheng together to eventually getting them caught for dating. He was the cutest character and Sun Kai is truly a fine actor.

GaoHan as K, I love Gaohan's acting in this. He is this cold and hard to approach but deep down really soft and caring person. Many funny moments with the whole team teasing ZDGX were some of his best scenes.

MUSIC:
The ost album i really good and i especially like the one where Xu Kai and Cheng Xiao sing the ost.

Highly recommended to watch this one if you are looking for some soft rom com to cheer up your day.

Not your basic Cdrama

I loved this drama because I felt they were real and tried to portray the situation with honesty and reality. I liked that all of the situations or problems in the series had some lesson to teach and they did it very well; not skimming over the problem and solving it with improper ways (like the power of friendship). The main leads have good chemistry, it does get a bit weird sometimes but it's okay. Xu Kai did an absolutley amazing job in this series. He fit his character to perfection, he was cold and cocky in front of everyone else but with her he was playful and sweet. The romance was properly built and it makes sense that the characters fell in love with each other. Despite this, I think the series was a tad milked out. They made it too long by longating scenes or events that weren't that important: fillers. Also, things that could have been interesting to the series like the love rival were kept short and i feel like they missed some chances of potential. Would definitely recommend to watch, you learn about gaming, see amazing chemistry and fall in love with xu kai.

Entertaining till the end

The first time I picked up this series I gave up by the end of the first episode because both the FL's lack of facial expression and the game's graphics put me off. However, I kept noticing the MDL high rating and after almost a year I decided to give it another try, prepared with a high tolerance for the FL and game component. It was really worth it and if you have been put off by the same elements, I can tell you that even though the FL's suffers from lack of expression, her character is actually great and the games are well done with amazing anime parts that easily pull you in the fights. The side plots are well integrated into the main plot, are varied, and are dealt with within a certain number of episodes, making the whole thread fairly satisfying. I also quite liked the secondary couple which for me is rare. I am really glad I gave it another try.

Cute, adorable, inspirational and a jackpot of handsome men!!

First and foremost, I would like to mention that this drama is so much sweet and has a bunch of handsome men. From the male lead to the delivery guys all are so cute. Remember not to watch the drama while eating or drinking, you might choke to death lol xD
The story is an anticipated, usual story and mostly revolves around the lives of celebrities and their relationship with fans. It also stresses what aspect we are considering when we are someone's fan. Is it the person's beauty or the strength he or she carries? It might not be much plot-driven but if you want to laugh the hell out of you this is a must-watch.

The gaming scenes are just lit! the strategies and technical aspects of the games are well explored.

Coming to the acting part, as usual, the ML Xu Kai, the torch bearer, is always impressive. It feels so realistic and sweet by the way he looks at the FL as if everything is real. His handsomeness is an added advantage. Every time he smiles it took my heart away!! It's like he has a multiple-shaded character. As a caring man towards his crush, as a responsible team captain, and most importantly a strong and straightforward celebrity. But again unlike the usual dramas where the ML is shown utterly perfect, he has his flaws. Which is again a severe cry moment in the end.
The FL Cheng Xiao did her best. Since it's her recent project, we hope her better would be out soon. Their chemistry from the very first was so good. Their fights and talks are all so sweet that might seriously bring butterflies into your stomach. A few scenes are so nice that we feel so involved in them.

as the story progresses, it shows more and more character development. every character has their own strong story. It might have been incomplete without any one of them.

the second leads are way too impressive, though their screen chemistry is limited, it feels so good.

I laughed with them and cried with them. Especially the last episode is a bucket full of emotions.

All in all, if you are a strict yes to esports rom-com with all the fun and humor this is worth watching. Go for it. you won't regret it.
HAPPY WATCHING!!

it grew on me

it's definitely a pretty quality show. effects are nice, acting is decent, plot is okay. but the first time I tried watching it I just could not get into it. I didn't feel sympathetic to the FL and the relationship dynamics felt flat, and even though I wasn't necessarily watching for the romance it still made me bored, as the romance is the main thing.

that said I came back to it a couple of times and once I got halfway it finally grew on me and I watched to the end. I do think the dynamics and the characters themselves grow and get a bit better, though it still may not be my cup of tea. I was invested by the end though in the plot to the point where I'll gladly give a pretty good rating.

Cute Romance With Overboard Product Placement

FIYS features a cute romance between Ton Yao, the first female e-sports player on the team, and Lu Si Cheng, the team’s captain. The actors, Cheng Xioa and Zu Kai, had excellent chemistry together. It seriously had some of the best kissing scenes and romantic gestures I’ve seen in a Cdrama before! I absolutely adored Lu Si Cheng. While he had a standoffish personality, at his core you could see the care and attention he gave to the people in his life. Zu Kai played these attributes to perfection. I was less impressed with Cheng Xioa’s performance. She did sarcasm and pouty really well, but it got a bit tiresome after 20+ episodes. A bit more emotional range would have been appreciated. The secondary characters were all interesting and unique in their own way even if the rarely got to have their own stories outside the main plot.

As this is an e-sports drama, it included tons of game footage. I found these parts to be rather uninteresting and boring, but the animation and shots were well done. In fact, the overall production of the show was top notch. However, the slick camera shots and beautiful cinematography came at a price. Product placement is RAMPANT in this show. Full on scenes were spent with characters essentially buying something without any main purpose to the plot or story. The actors did well with those scenes - I, personally, would have laughed if I had to shoot a mini-commercial during a drama as an actor.

A MUST WATCH SHOW

This drama was absolutely amazing from the storyline to the acting, it was incredible. I created an account just to review this drama. If you are looking for something wholesome, youthful and satisfying, this is the show to watch. I enjoyed the chemistry between all of the characters within the drama, especially the two leads. The FL and ML had one of the most unique and pure relationship that I have ever seen out of any youth type dramas. The conflicts in the drama are not exactly intense or thrilling. However I think that because this drama has a youth vibe to it that without such heavy conflicts, it does not stray away from the main atmosphere or feel this drama gives off. The OST of this drama is also really good. The FL and ML even have a song together on the soundtrack. Throughout watching this drama, it made me genuinely happy with the relationship between all the characters to the adorable storyline. I really recommend to whoever is looking for a good drama to go watch Falling Into Your Smile.

*It was so good that I hope there is a season 2 with the original cast and everything.

Meets Expectations, Enjoyable

I immensely enjoyed this drama on a fully subjective level, however there was way too much wrong with it on an objective level for me to give it a super high rating. Just know, it's a fun, cute watch.

Some of the best aspects:
- Great friendship dynamics; I love shows that don't have an excess of irrational interpersonal conflict and instead focus on relationships growing/changing/etc
- A romance focusing on a shared interest and passion for something (my favorite kind), combined with great on-screen chemistry. Good, funny bickering/ust that never strayed into meanness or rudeness
- Main lead female character with her own story/depth

Some of the biggest flaws:
- poorly dubbed: In a modern drama, dubbing generally is a con, but this is below-average dubbing, rarely allowing me to forget that it's dubbed, which leads into the next problem:
- a lack of emotion in acting. the disconnect between between actors' facial expressions and their emotions in the scene, the static way the scenes are blocked and filmed... it all ties in with the unnatural dubbing. It's like they filmed some scenes and filled the emotion in when dubbing. There are DEFINITELY cdramas that are worse at this, and it's an idol drama filled with idol actors, so it's not like I was expecting more, but it was still a flaw.
- I just don't think it's appropriate for Xu Kai to be in these teen-centered/youth-marketed dramas. The dynamic between the characters (domineering male lead/weak female lead) made me uncomfortable sometimes knowing Xu Kai's past.
-Moments of quite explicit xenophobia/anti-Korean sentiment. I expect nationalism from any narrative focusing on competitive sports or competitions, but there are definitely stereotypes being MADE by this show, and then it tries to throw in a line or two to make it "ok"
