I only watched this because people were recommending it and after watching Lie to Love with CX I decided to give it a shot. Originally, I saw this RIGHT when it came out, like on the first release date. However, I saw the first episode and there was something about it that I just couldn't continue with it (I tried to find out what it was again but everything seems fine to me so idk what the fuck was wrong with me then).
I have never seen anything with Xu Kai in it so I didn't really know what to expect, and the only thing I saw with CX was the new show Lie to Love. A lot of people don't like CX for some reason which I'm struggling to understand but to each their own I guess, and I know that there was some sort of boycott over this show about plagiarism or something? But nonetheless, I still really enjoyed the show and what the actors did.
Now, usually, like in You Are my Glory, I can see why some people compare the two. It is both very heavy in gaming (maybe a little less in YAMG) but they both had similar concepts. HOWEVER, I skipped every gaming scene in YAMG and not to pat myself on the back or anything, I was pretty into this game on FIYS and watching how people interacted. I didn't skip in real close up animations of combat clips and was actually pretty engaged. I enjoyed how they depicted the sexist world of gaming and how the female leads dealt with constant misogyny from both men and women. I liked how they showed a lot of emotion and had funny clips but also sad clips and also showed us the struggles of professional gamers and what that's like for their careers and their families. Especially in a country like China, it's very common and traditional to study study study and then find a good stable office job or something and live your life quietly. Going into video games, something seen as just wasting time, it really shows you people (young people in this case) can take a really deep form of passion and turn something they're good at into a profession. This is one of the many things I enjoyed about this.
The second thing is the relationship between all the characters. YOU CANNOT TELL ME ALL VIEWERS DIDN'T FALL IN LOVE WITH AT LEAST ONE OF THE BOYS.
For me personally, lao mao and lao k are taking the gold medal for who won my heart. Lao K's cold demeanor that slowly changed into this warm friendship was such a realistic depiction (not to mention he looked hot af while doing so ;)) because it goes through the emotions of betrayal and abandonment. Seeing some one he doesn't even know and never had an input about replacing one of his closest friends really hurts. But in the end, Lao K and Tong Yao have such a cute sibling bond. Lao Mao on the other hand is definitely the mood maker. His constant bickering and how he and Lao K contrast each other makes me melt with happiness. He can be so clueless and stupid at times, but when things get serious it's like a different version of him. I still can't get over how amazing of a relationship Lao Mao and Lao K have and it lowkey shattered me during that one fight. In the end, they called a truce and continued to hang around each other and went back to the way they were before (side note, no way was there not a slight 'bromance' there because if it weren't for Chinas censorship, I 100% would've thought they had a lovers quarrel and were dating)
TLDR; WATCH THIS. ITS SO GOOD. (also, there's cute kitties involved)

best cdrama the ml is my ideal type:))
no unnecessary drama i fav cdramaThe scenes did not feel like cringe at all but showed how crushing on someone at that age looks so innocent and lovely. No unnecessary dramas and no dull moments. The love between them won my heart and got me kicking the air and dying of jealousy. However, I find the lines to be more powerful and even a simple line went really deep to my heart. A simple drama that I can't recommend enough!

I have rewatched this cdrama 8 times because it is worth watching. It interprets games with love lives which makes it both fun and exciting to watch. The ost is sang by SEVENTEEN (kpop boy band). This made me like the cdrama even more. The male lead of the drama is cold but yet sweet when it comes to dating. The female lead has always been cute with savage energy from the start. Season 2 Ideas: More Love, Drama & Epic Games!?
I really hope they make Season 2! Here’s my idea: a new female gamer joins and becomes a rival to Smiling, pushing her to train harder. She doesn’t just want to defeat Smiling in the game… she also wants to "steal" Cheesman. But Cheesman stays loyal and keeps proving that his heart is only for Smiling. Also, the game in Season 1 looked a bit fake sometimes, but the short 3D intro was so cool! For Season 2, it would be amazing to have a more realistic, clear, and exciting game, still keeping the 3D animation without being cringy or confusing.
Smiling and her team train like crazy, while Cheesman encourages her but also struggles with his hand injury from Season 1’s intense gaming. Because of the injury, Cheesman decides this will be his last epic match before retiring. The final showdown: Cheesman and Smiling’s team vs. the new rival and her team. Epic, heart-pounding games, tension everywhere, and everyone watching worldwide 🌍
Of course, Smiling and Cheesman win. Cheesman retires with honor, passing the torch to the new generation. Then we get their wedding and a flash-forward 5–7 years later, where their children dream about becoming gamers too.
For Season 2, it would be great if the love story develops naturally. More realistic chemistry, not too fast or stiff. Side characters should have meaningful roles and motivations, not just appear as props. Less focus on online drama or fan comments but show important emotional moments that could happen in real life. And, improved acting and character expressions to make it feel lively and natural.
This drama gives so much energy, love and inspiration; please Season 2 make it happen! ✨ What do you think? I’d love to hear your thoughts and ideas too!

Sweet moments? - YES!!!
FALLING INTO YOUR SMILE initially interested me only because of the topic - e-sports. I don't even play as an amateur player, but in some way this topic is very close to me.+ Plot had a rapid course and from the beginning the spirit of e-sports was feel in plot.
+ The characters were great and fun at the same time = they creat a good comedy.
+ Embarrassing situations put a smile on my face.
+ The romantic line started in an original way.
+ I really liked when players played the games and the watcher seemed to be transfer to the game, which made amazing impression to the whole drama.
- The end was a "cliché" because the drama ended the way that end most of dramas = non-original end.
- Sometimes I felt that the drama only prolonged with unnecessary moments.

loved it
I was hooked from the first episode. I'm not a gaming person and try to avoid dramas involving it. But I was actually so invested in the games, I hardly skipped. Has to be one of my favourite c dramas. I did find some of the actors acting a bit bland but I think it was covered with their looks. lol I would deffo recommend this drama and I fully understand the hype around it. it's rightly so would definitely recommend to give it ago. you won't be disappointed. I was surprised how much I enjoyed it.Was this review helpful to you?
