I picked this up for the hockey. Hockey has been a big part of my life for years now and when I saw this I was instantly intrigued. Women in hockey rep, cute cheesy romance, with a bunch of cliches thrown in, what could go wrong? The Good:
-I really enjoyed this simply because of how well the two leads portrayed their characters. Daren and Sebrina did an amazing job with these characters. They made the relationship and romance flow seamlessly.
-Darren Chen: ugh he's great. watch the show for him. He isn't that overbearing ML, he's quirky but cool. Portrayed so well.
-The plot actually worked. I didn't have any issues other than the constant angst/dips in the plot (basically just the 24/7 drama). It wasn't bad but noticeable, I like to be on edge but oof give me a break.
The Not so Good:
- The parts in hockey that were incorrect. I know it's a drama and I think I only noticed this because I play hockey but oof.
- some of the transitions worked but some of them just had me questioning everything (looking at you confession scene)
- The stereotypes and sexism. Give me a show with a girl who can play hockey and not get told that she's too delicate or a h*e for playing on a guys team and I'll be a happy camper. They had a few questionable times that made the feminist in my scream.
- the public humiliation: no.

Best drama in 2020
It's the best drama in 2020. ONE THING I WANT YO CLEAR THAT IT HAS NO SIMILARITIES WITH "SKATE INTO LOVE". IT IS FAR BETTER THAN THAT!!Everything is just perfect in this drama. And tge story is quite realistic with some fantasy ofcourse. But I think drama is the another name of fantasy. So it's acceptable ofcourse. Both female lead and Male lead are so perfect for their role. It's the cutest drama. And the main thing is here that the sport (ice hockey) was showed by them very nicely! Everyone will fall in love with their acting and ofcourse MUSIC. MUSIC AND EVERY SONG AND EVERY SOUND (LIKE MEWAOO) WAS SO PERFECT FOR SITUATION!!

STORY:
A freaking unbelievable story, but that's how it is with gender-benders. There is a random disability trope thrown in and some things about 'destiny'. There are some good messages about teamwork, friendship and never giving up. One could probably find inspiration in the story as well. Most of the drama is sports and romance. I am never too invested on the sports side in any drama and other focus- the romance was quite enjoyable. For the first time, a C-drama felt short because the leads were adorable together and had made a nice pair. All the main characters and side characters are wonderful which is rare in any drama. I was just disappointed with all the teasing we got with our main leads together but the resolution was quick and their time together was just PG-level at best.
ACTING:
I am new to Sabrina Chen but she made an adorable boy. Her transformation from boy to girl makes her look unrecognizable. I am not too familiar with Darren Chen - outside of a few episodes of Meteor Garden that I watched but he was memorable. He started off as an icy character but his consistency in loving the female lead and his childish sides were funny. He smirks like a bad boy and tries to come off as cold and teasing but we all know he is a nice guy. I also loved the sibling and best friend of the heroine. The "second lead" in the show is quite nice as well. I liked the actor in one other drama as well.
OST:
I liked the songs. Not sure which is my favourite but they were nice.
OVERALL:
Watch it if you are into sports and teamwork. Or if you love cross-dressing (like I do) but expect less time with the male lead questioning his identity (which is always done so well in K-dramas). The romance was nice and fluffy. There were some hilarous moments and the characters I thought would turn out to be hateful were all likable by the middle/end. I do recommend picking this up as it is one of the better C-dramas out there.

Sweet, fluffy romance with very little angst and likable cast.
I tend to fast-forward in most c-dramas because they drag sometimes or have characters that get on my nerves. Fortunately, this was not one of those! I watched every minute and found myself either smiling uncontrollably at the adorableness of the main leads or laughing at their antics. There was very little angst which is just fine with me. The main leads had amazing chemistry and I cannot stress enough how handsome Darren Chen is! His facial expressions were very well-done and his acting as Wen Bing was excellent. As was Sebrina Chen who is so cute disguised as a boy. I love all their character developments...building relationships and friendships, finding one's dreams and goals...it was just perfect. Wen Bing's mother and grandmother were also great in their roles and I loved all the friendships and romance amongst the side characters! The mandatory other woman, Meng Na, was a stand-out! I loved that they made her cute and adorable and not mean to the FL. Her interactions with the FL's brother were cute as well. All, in all, this is very highly recommended! Sweet Romance Drama
If you prefer to watch sweet romance drama but good acting-wise then this drama is highly recommended. I would say this is idol drama so it's a bit unrealistic, over the top storyline, however, the ML and FL has perfect acting skills so doesn't give me cringly feeling so highly recommended for sweet romance. Every episode focuses on the ML and FL so that's nice.The only part i don't like is that it is really cringly in some scene which doesn't happen in real-life events. However, the acting is perfect so i felt fewer goosebumps compared to other Chinese drama.
I can't wait to watch ML and FL other drama.

Bye logic and just enjoy the ride

For a gender bender drama that defies all logic, the plot and story telling is very smooth
Surprisingly funny, this is props to both writing and acting
Not a big fan of sports drama but the sports reel in this are very well made
Cons:
*SPOILER AHEAD*
The grandma bit is not an effective plot device, she was there at the beginning with a premonition then she was at the end saying tadaaa im the grandma.. like...... The story could have done without this and still be enjoyable
The second leads do not present any significant threat/change in dynamics between the ML & FL
The wrapping up is too slow - wish they move on to how FL & ML are adjusting when not playing in the same team anymore

"Cross-dressing" is one of my favorite tropes in dramas.
It can take many different ways, story-wise. And it reminds me of "The Tale of Nokdu" on some points. Overall, I really enjoyed the drama. Sebrina Cheng and Darren Chen (surprised that they share the same last name lol) did an amazing job with their chemistry and portraying the characters. Also glad to see Darren Cheng again like last time as Huaze Lei in the Chinese remake of Meteor Garden. And Sebrina Cheng was also amazing. I finally got rid of that slump where I stop watching C-dramas for a while but when I found a really good one, I just binge-watch it non-stop for days. You should watch it!
I really enjoy watching this drama in two days.I really recommend it, but it will depend on each person if they will like it or not, personally I loved it.
Story: 8/10- The reason why I didn’t give full point was because I felt that the beginning wasn’t really realistic 😅. (The thing with the snow ball... and what happened next). BUT overall was a really nice and light drama to watch. It’s catchy when you start to watch it. And even thought it has cliché, it’s enjoyable. I loved his romantic-comedy scenes.
Acting/cast: 8.5/10- I LOVE THE MALE CHARACTER!! Darren Chen really did an amazing job with his character. I admit that I fell for him and his smile and his gaze. His jealousy was something good to see xD...I already saw him in Meteor Garden, but I was the type who preferred Dylan before him in that drama. However, after watching him in this drama, I fell for him deeper than with Dylan. On the other hand, I think the FL, Sebrina also did a good job, BUT the reason why I didn’t put full point for the cast, is because I felt that it was REALLY obvious that she was a girl, because in reality there are many girls like her with short hair...so it wasn’t realistic that just because of her short hair (wig), others thought that she was a boy. I know it’s not her fault since she can’t change her body, but that’s just my opinion. Overall I like how she acted (it was cute and funny).
Music: 10/10- I loved all the ost, and it was funny to hear the cat sound when something happened with Wen Bing.
Rewatched: 10/10- I know that later I will rewatch it, because this was a ‘light’ plot, without any big drama (or plot twist), but because it was really fun and cheesy, it’s enjoyable.
Overall: 9/10- I loved it and I may rewatch it again later.

Young, Sweet Love
It's such a lighthearted and sweet romantic comedy that makes you giddy with excitement of young love.I couldn't wait to see the newer episodes so I went somewhere else to watch it. Darren Chen's expressions are so adorable and the chemistry between him and Chen Yao are progressing nicely. Both are delivering their roles convincingly.
The games are also believable and the lessons learned along the way are encouraging.
The main premise reminds me of Sulli's "To the Beautiful You" when the FL pretended to be a boy and the ML became her roommate. The difference is that both joined in a sport which gives the same vibe as "Skate Into Love". For me, it's a great combination already.
Update: Both leads were on point with their roles and you were just drawn into their young, sweet love. Darren Chen as Wen Bing is so cute and convincing. His concern and the way he helped the main female lead to hide her identity was very endearing. The stolen and secretive looks or smiles directed at Sang Tian made me feel like I was younger and was also back in school! I especially liked that part when the female lead didn't know what " Ti Amo" meant and she kept saying it to him! Sebrina Chen on the other hand, did so well in her acting too. The scenes where she played hockey also looked realistic.
The rest of the cast are all lovable. I like the camaraderie and friendship that they build. It's so heart-warming and made you wish you're included in their circle. The other story arcs were not too drawn out and quite enjoyable without veering too much off topic from the main leads.
Most of all, I just loved the ending. It was super adorable and the scenery peaceful and gorgeously shot. The way the camera panned out in the end to show the whole view was breathtaking. Definitely worth your while!

light and fluffly drama to watch
I started watching this drama because I watched Maiden Holmes. Maiden Holmes and My Unicorn girl have the same FL. Even in Maiden Holmes FL disguised as a boy and she looks good in disguise. So I have started watching My Unicorn girl drama.I have not disappointed at any point. ML is very handsome and the side couple stories are also good.
Beware that most of the part FL is disguised as a boy. Only for a few scenes, she has seen as a girl.
But I liked her as a boy. This is entirely my opinion.
If you want to watch a short and sweet drama go for it don't hesitate.

So addicting sweet and funny
As many other viewers, I didn't expect much from this drama when I started it but it made me change my mind quickly. since the first episodes I was more and more interested in the story and I was craving to find out whta will happen next between the main characters.Even if it's full of predictables scenes and there're not much plot twist, there're always scenes that make me unexpectedly happy and smile for no reason. There're always some situation that makes you laugh and puts you in good mood.
The chemistry between the leads are great, both for the actors and characters, and not only acting is good but also the story is told in a cute and enjoying way.
It's a really funny, entertaining and sweet drama and the visual is just so good! It's also heartwarming and touching in some episodes but for the most o the time is sweet, sweet and sweet but in a really good way.
I like Darren, I've seen many of his drama and this is definitely his best work in my opinion. His acting is really improved a lot and he really did a great job in this drama. He gave something special to this character and I found it very believable, also the other characters are well well played and the friendship between the character is well build.
I really enjoyed this drama and I reccomed it to everyone who likes cute and light romantic drama that boosts your mood.
