love cheesy stuff like this

of course the show is kinda corny at points but i feel like its self aware 😭 also if you cant enjoy cheesy fantasy romance You just hate fun..

ok random assorted thoughts ;
-yeon and ji-a.. im kind of ill.. yeon waiting 600 years for her reincarnation?? diabolical and tragic as hell..
-THE EMPHASIS OF MUNDANITY... one of my favorite things in the show.. how yeon simply wishes to become human (and does so in the end).. how he wants ji-a to live a normal, average life.. how yeon longs to grow old with ji-a, eat meals every day with her, etc.. just normal things.... SIGH WHATEVER
-lee rang... lee rang my wife... oh god. im so ill over him its insane. his character is so important to me i dont care.. his fear of abandonment and being alone.. how he is always abandoned but as soon as he gets a family, his life is taken from him.. and how he DIES ALONE is actually so fucking tragic and devastating dude what the hell. but he is reincarnated into a loving and present family (IM SO EMOTIONAL)
-also lee rang and his dog and how. the dog was reincarnated into a human that basically became his son.. how rang acts cold and rude to avoid attachment but has this soft spot for his dog/kid.. whatever IDC
-I JUST LOVE THE LEE BROTHERS SO MUCH.... their dynamic is so tragic and they are maybe my favorite part.. they make me SICKKKKKKKKKK. how rang was willing to sacrifice himself for yeons happiness even though he felt inferior to him his whole life... god.. rang you are so important...
-i really loved all the characters!!! ALL OF THEEEMMMM. loved all the side plots and never really fell out of the story.. i was always hooked...
-one of my only complaints (beside awful cgi) is that it feels like everything was Kind of low stakes.. like, with the really prevalent theme of reincarnation its clear that anyone who dies (that isnt a villain) will come back eventually. obviously i didnt want yeon or rang or anyone to NOT come back, its just like. all this for nothing...
-on that note. it is not all for nothing obviously. they literally saved the world but the fact that there isnt much of a huge sacrifice made is kinda meh.
-THE ENDING is so bittersweet... so beautiful... i hope yeon and ji-a live the longest happiest life and grow old and die together..
-also ldw is just beautiful like Hello!!!!!

I DON'T KNOW WHY BUT when ever every epesode ends i'm about to die with curosity ...ahh cant wait wait for ep9 i hope that this drama has a happy ending ....

Lee Yeon!!!! ♥️♥️

I really loved this series. As always, Lee Dong Wook is just perfect and I just love how awkward he is at times. This story was very sad at times and I may have gotten dehydrated from crying, lol. I loved the back stories and his banter with Rang. I knew granny had a soft spot for him! I mean, who wouldn't when he is so beautiful, charming, funny... Ahhhh, I just love this man so much. ♥️♥️♥️. And his weird faces just crack me up every time. And his bluntness is just the best, 😂.

5/5

I DUNNO WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE DON’T LIKE THE FEMALE LEAD or even the story/drama. She’s good and chemistry is chemistrying, storyline was perfect and no boring episodes. This is one of my fave after scarlet heart ryeo and alchemy of souls (on top, don’t mean to compare). Dong wook so pogi!!! 😭🤍 It’s been so long as well since I last saw Kim Bum in a drama, he was my fave during the Boys Over Flowers seazons.

Haven’t watch the 2nd part of the series because the main lead is not there or probably just a cameo but might try it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Lee Dong Wook at his finest

It's really difficult to put into words how brilliant this drama was. The acting, writing, directing & the all out chemistry on screen was just the best in every way. This is definitely my favorite work of Dong Wook. He showed such magic on screen with Bo Ah & Kim Bum. It's the only series I watched twice in its entirety, it's just that good.
Every cast member has a great moment in a certain episode where they shine.
As you get deeper and deeper into this series, you can feel the pain or happiness of each character in the episodes. Episode 15 & 16 are without a doubt the most powerful acted scenes by any actor. The farewells of Yeon to Rang and then the reverse, Rang back to Yeon are just incredible. If you don't become a complete mess watching these two scenes, there is definitely something wrong with you. At the time of completion, you really didn't know if there would be a season two, so you kind of feel like you lost part of your family at the ending of this drama.
As Yeon states at the very end, "Living as a human means life is full of things that are first & last ...... first snow, first step, first picnic, first root canal & first love"
... and also first season of Tale of the Nine Tailed. Amazingly, season two (1938) turned out to be even better, if that's possible. Way to go Wookie!!!

So far so good

I've watched all the episodes currently released! And i'd say so far so good (really good) i really enjoy watching the show, it does really keep you on edge sometimes (exciting!) I personallythink that there's a lack of supernatural shows in the drama world (especially in kdrama) and if it keeps going like this this will probably be my new favorite drama! The cast does really work together well, the endings do are very annoying because they'll always end with a cliffhanger! It's also a very good way to learn more about Korean culture, watching this show made me intrigued to search and research more about the nine-tailed fox and stuff!! I love it!!

It wasn't for me.

Major spoilers, especially about the ending. If you like this drama and want to start or continue watching it, don't read any further.

Three seasons why I dropped this drama.

1. It was boring from the very beginning: Nothing about it appealed to me. Then I continued watching only for Lee Rang. I read the ending. It's beautiful. Sacrificing himself for his brother (ToT)(ToT)(ToT)

2. I only watched for Lee Rang: Lee Dong Wook and Kim Bum had a great on-screen relationship. Lee Rang was my favourite character. But the romance was so boring. And the FL's story never tugged at my heart strings like it should have.

3. The OST was not memorable: Although the songs are good, Kim Jong Wan and Shownu were my faves, they were wasted in this drama (◕‸ ◕)

Loving it!

For someone who grew up listening to supernatural stories, I find myself drawn to such themes. As an Asian we all have our little superstitions and supernatural characters that we grew up listening about. I loved how this drama does not focus on the romance and has a lot of different elements. There are obviously cliched plotlines and the whole Korean-unbelievable-conincidence-of-fate and stuff but it works at the end. I dont expect a kdrama to change my life but I just want to enjoy it - especially during this period of lockdown where I am running out of things to watch. It is cliched to me because I've watched a plethora of Kdramas but I've enjoyed this one. I love the supernatural-thriller bits and hope they continue it. The brother story is so cute!

P.S Plus point of having everyone goodlooking in this kdrama. Kim Bum looks extra spicy lol (along with LDW)

Garbage

This drama is full of famous untalented actors who are trying to shove a cliché themed drama down our throats.
The main couple has no chemistry whatsoever , their acting skills aren't helping neither . Side couple should've been the main.
The story is so overdone to the point of regurgitating what other authors had invented .
This was such a waste of time , I dragged myself to watching one episode after the other yet no improvement .
This shit show belongs to the trash can with its main leads !
Never recommending to anybody and never watching the actors involved in anything again . What a waste ! Give me back my time ! I want compensation for all the brain cells lost while watching this crap !
Ughhh if I can rate it minus infinite I would . Too bad this option doesn't exist !
Don't make the same mistake and go watch another worthy drama .

Dramatic Doomed Love Premise Fizzles in Execution

I love vampire romances due to the fact that the vampire presents one face, but behind that face is centuries of secret pain and history. This show operates on a similar concept, except I couldn't buy in. I'm not sure whether it was due to the acting, script or combination of both.

Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah have little chemistry and feel like they are from two different dramas. Lee Dong Wook plays his character playfully, exaggerated and a bit campy, whereas Jo Bo Ah plays like she is in a very serious teen supernatural show constantly overwhelmed.

It didn't help that the production values, cinematography, and action scenes were all a bit lackluster and unattractive and there just wasn't anything to keep my interest. . . .

Such a good drama with realistic love if you understand what I mean. Lee Dong Wook and Jo Bo Ah are one of the most perfect couples together and I literally can't restrain my heart around them. It physically hurts and I welcome it. Honestly Lee Dong Wook is the only actor who can pull off non human roles and no one else could have took this role and portrayed even 1/5 the amount Lee Dong Wook did. For Jo Bo Ah I was under the impression that this was the first time I am seeing her but it turns out that she was the second female lead for my third ever kdrama and I totally didn't even realise that she was the same person. She is so beautiful and I really like her acting and her voice and her innocent looks. Before watching this drama I had never even heard of Kim Bum before but I've seriously fell for his cute charms and honestly that is one of the reasons that I decided to watch this drama. This is my second most favourite drama it might not be for everyone but all the things I love in a drama are all in Tale Of The Nine Tailed. I am literally obsessed with all 8 of the OST's and I think it is one of the best OST's albums there has ever been. Please watch this drama it deserves to be seen.
