Short but Sweet
Although this drama was pretty short for a Cdrama, I found that they were able to incorporate lots of different aspects into the storyline and I felt satisfied after watching only 6 episodes. Not to mention, the plot and the acting were amazing as well. The actors really brought their roles to life! The only thing I found to be a bit strange was the plot twist in episodes 5-6. I feel like that could have been developed better as it felt really rushed. I understand that they had a limited amount of episodes but they could have hinted at her condition a bit more before those episodes. I watched this without watching the first drama of the series. However, since this is about the main character from the original drama's daughter, I don't really think that you have to watch the first one to understand or enjoy this one. Overall, if you don't have a lot of time or are simply looking for a quality drama to watch, I would definitely recommend this! Was this review helpful to you?

I found the main actress, Princess Zhaohua, quite bratty and loud at the start. There is a reason to this, not because she could be possibly spoilt. Princess Zhaohua’s personality and behaviours serve a larger purpose towards the end of the drama. Princess Siwan, who is a lower-ranked princess, plays Princess Zhaohua’s sly and competitive arch-enemy. The two main leads plays, a Mongolian Prince and an Imperial Guard, who played their parts marvellously. I enjoyed the rivalry, although some rivalry scenes between the princesses seemed a bit off and didn’t have an impactful result...Review on my blog: purplecuriosity.wordpress.com/2020/04/07/yanxi-palace-princess-adventures/

Princess Adventures: A Cheerful Spin-Off Worth Watching
Although I haven't seen The Story of Yanxi Palace, I thoroughly enjoyed its spin-off, Yanxi Palace: Princess Adventures. This series centers on the seventh princess of Emperor Qianlong and her future husband, offering a youthful romance that feels as cheerful and warm as springtime.I particularly appreciated the cast of the youngsters, who perfectly embodied their characters, who perfectly embodied their characters. Initially, the seventh princess's personality slightly annoyed me, but I soon found myself engaged with her spirited nature. The plot maintains a light touch, the intrigue is straightforward, and the episodes are concise, making it a truly enjoyable watch without demanding too much thought.
While the ending is sweet, knowing the true history of Emperor Qianlong's seventh princess evokes a sense of sympathy.

Quick Review V: It's really quick (I mean 6 episodes) and the characters are pretty realistic in their design. The story line was very short and kind of difficult to get incredibly invested into, but because it's so short, it's still a very good watch. It's definitely worth a watch.
Longer Review V:
I'm so sad that it's only 6 episodes. The cast was great and I really enjoyed them, especially Fu Kang An's actor. It was also great to see so much of the old cast reunited (Yuan Chun Wang, Wei Yingluo, etc.)!
The story line was amazing as well. I thought it was very engaging. The leads had some pretty good chemistry. Also, I loved the plotting of it all, as well as the references to the old story (ie. Fu Kang An's mysterious identity). The best part, in my opinion, was actually Fu Kang An's identity. Who is his actual dad? We will never know. :)
I really liked the music- especially considering that we never listened to parts of the OST before in Story of Yanxi Palace. In this short spin off, I discovered that the OST from Yanxi wasn't just WOOO WOOOO WOOOO.
Overall, I definitely recommend watching this! It's amazing!
