See characters with mental disturbs isn't a new thing in productions, and my only concern about it is the fact that this could make a wrong image about some specifics disturbs. In "Flower of evil" we can see a mortuary where Do Hyun Soo is diagnosed with Schizotypal Personality Disorder and sometimes he was treated as a people with Antisocial Personality Disorder... It wasn't clear how was his disease in fact, but as in the most part of dramas with this theme, this wasn't made with total precision. As a psychologist this bothered me a little bit, but as I said I don't judge this production searching for a psychology class, and somethings can be forgiven for the entertainment. I thought that the Do Hyun Soo character was very consistent even don't following all the characteristics of a person with any of these disturbs.

The progress of the drama was very pleasant for me. The way how they show Do Hyun Soo and the detective Ji Won interact was the cherry in this cake. The chemistry between Lee Jong Gi and Moon Chae Won was incredible! It was my first drama with these two and I thought they did a great job! I could feel all the tension, the love, the sadness... These last episodes break my heart into a million pieces and the major reason was the performance of these two. The character of Kim Moo Jin (Seo Hyun Woo) was put as a relief in the middle of the process, and I appreciate this kind of idea, but sometimes I felt he was lost in the middle of all. The connection between him and Do Hyun Soo was made came of nothing and suddenly they just start to share everything, and when they tried to explain the connection with some flashbacks... I don't know, for me was kinda forced, but I enjoy saw them work together and Seo Hyun Woo was great too. Do Hae Soo (Jang Hee Jin) was the weak part to me in the drama... I don't thin was a problem with the actress, but with the character herself. She should be an important part of the story, but she was so repetitive sometimes that ends up turn into an unbearable thing in the plot. The end kinda makes me understand a little bit more of her personality, but at this point was too late to make something very significant with her. Jung Seo Yeon as Eun Ha was a jewel! What a girl! I loved her performance and cuteness! Hope to see her again in another drama soon!

I enjoyed the process and most part of the ending of this drama. I'm not a fan of bittersweet endings, but this one is questionable. Some people thought was a happy ending, others that could be better... I think that depends on what you can interpret and what you expect. For me, was a nice time and the opportunity to see very good performances. I don't feel like the sensation of an amazing drama that ended, but I feel like was something different and that I couldn't add or take out nothing. This was I thought about it and I hope that you enjoy my opinion!

an absolute 10 out of 10

I can summarize it in one sentence: It's simply worth it!

My best friend recommended it to me a while ago, but I've only seen it now.
I regret not having seen it sooner.

the story, the acting, everything draws you in and you just want to know what happens next.

I didn't regret watching it for a minute and even stayed up until 3am to find out what happened next.

I can also recommend that you watch this drama as one of the first if you want to immerse yourself in the world of kdramas.

you will not regret it!!

The best Kdrama

A beautiful love story, with a lot of plots and twists.

Brilliant acting by all, especially the main actors, their daughter and the human trafficking leader.

I loved the storyline. Could never have guessed the outcome.

There is laughter, fear, anger and mire emotions. You are literally crying and screaming at times.

Absolute Classic

This show excels in every aspect. The performances, script, and action are perfectly intertwined. If you're in search of a blend of thriller, romance, action, and suspense, this outstanding series delivers on all fronts! It has raised the standard for other dramas in its category, and I haven't encountered any that come near its quality. The lead, LJG, is exceptional in every role he takes on.

One of my favourites

I really loved this drama. The story is so amazing 🔥. Even though it was complicated, I could not find any errors or unanswered questions, very well written. Although I think I want to know a bit more about his father.

But Lee Joongi's acting is awesome. In fact, I think all of their acting was good but to show emotions without actually showing too many emotions is quite hard and he did it so nicely. I loved the part where he cries for the first time while hugging his daughter. This drama would definitely be one of my favourites.

I wasn't prepared for this amazing drama 10/10

“Flower of Evil” felt like a psychological roller coaster I wasn’t prepared for, and I loved every second of it. Watching it felt like peeling layers off a person you thought you already understood. The story follows Baek Hee-sung, who looks like the perfect husband and father, but as the episodes go on, I felt myself doubting everything about him. The biggest twist for me was realizing that the man living such a quiet, loving life wasn’t even Baek Hee-sung at all but Do Hyun-soo, someone who has been running from a past full of accusations, trauma, and darkness. That reveal hit hard because I could feel how badly he wanted to be loved even while believing he didn’t deserve it.

What made the drama intense for me wasn’t just the mystery but the emotional conflict. Watching Cha Ji-won, his wife, slowly uncover the truth felt like I was discovering it with her. Every time she got closer to exposing him, my chest tightened because I knew how much they loved each other, yet the truth was something that could destroy everything. The show played with my feelings a lot—one moment I was scared of what Hyun-soo might do, and the next I just wanted him to be okay and finally be understood.

The plot twists kept hitting one after another, especially when the story dug deeper into Hyun-soo’s childhood and the real serial killer behind everything. The drama made me question who the real “evil” one was, and I loved how it explored trauma, identity, and whether someone broken can still deserve love. By the end, it genuinely felt like I had watched two people fight not just the world but their own ghosts for the sake of their family.

Overall, it’s one of those dramas that stays with you because it’s not just about crime or secrets—it’s about love surviving even the darkest truths.

stop what ever it is you are doing ! Unless you are watching already

Just a warning I'm still in the zone of how much I loved this series .

Wow what can I say about this master piece ! I'm still in awe of how amazing this show was!
Every single one of these actors deserve an award! Lee Joon Gi hands down brilliant acting and my favorite show with him now !! His character was a very complicated one to master and he MASTERED IT !!! AND OMGSH the on screen chemistry with him and moon chae won !!!!!!!!!!!! absolutely beautiful
I loved Seo Hyun Woo character !!!!! he brought light to the show and found my self laughing quite a bit !!! Amazing actor !

music was used in all the right moments! The credit song I will be downloading hehe
The story Line was sooooo good, had me on the edge of my seat for awhile and waiting for the next episode was killing me so I stopped watching at episode 14 to wait til it finished and I binged as soon as the last episode came out ! My heart was racing, tears where falling, smiling, with tears! sooo many tears, good ,bad, happpy everything mixed in one giant ball but sooo good ! Very clean story line.

I dont really write reviews that often and honestly I cant think of anything that I disliked.
For 16 episodes they tied it up fairly neatly at the end, I always want more from my favorite dramas but this is one that will stay with me for a awhile

so out of all the love I gave this drama for the acting I say might as well watch it to see what I'm raving about hey? lol

Gripping stuff

Excellently written, directed and acted.
Fab cast who all portrayed their characters so well.
I loved the dynamic between the leads and also the sibling relationship between Hyun-soo and Hae-soo.
The story twists and turns, is gripping, sad, but also humorous at times.
Moon Chae-won's portrayal of Cha Ji-won, I thought was excellent. Her trust in her husband was harshly tested and even though she had moments of self-doubt, she was determined to uncover the truth. She was sometimes vulnerable, but also strong willed and very emotional. I felt she was an anchor for her husband and a massive part if his emotional development. Her investment in him and their family was, I felt, one reason she was easily brought to tears when all might be lost.
The only reason I didn't give a 10 for re-watch value is because being a thriller, I now know what's coming and who's who. However, I would happily revisit it one day.
A definite one to watch.

Great Balance of Thriller and Romance-Melodrama

Flower of Evil follows the story of a psychopath husband with tons of secrets and his police detective wife, who ends up handling a case linked to his past. It ultimately leads to either a breakdown of trust or a strengthening of their relationship.

Flower of Evil is more of a mix of thriller and romance-melodrama genres, not as dark as Signal, Voice, or even Mouse. It's actually a relatively light watch, but they succeed in keeping the tension high throughout the entire drama. They balance the thrills and romance perfectly in every episode, and it's also supported by great background music.

The script is solid and tight, even though some unnecessary plot get added in the second half. The acting is great, and the chemistry is amazing. I also love the daughter's acting, she's really cute.

Overall, it's a great series to watch. It has some dark vibes, but it still delivers the emotional scenes between the leads amazingly.

On edge!!!

By "on edge" I mean that this series literally leaves you on the edge of your seat after every episode. Lee Joon-Gi (Baek Hee-sung) was so perfect for the lead role. He is such an amazing actor and I never imagined him being able to pull off such an intense and bad-ass role. But he did it!!! An emotionless character who falls for a cop... could it get any better than that!!! And the times where he almost gets caught but gets away with it... it honestly gives you such an adrenalin rush every time!!!! Moon Chae-won (Cha Ji-won) was such a good choice for the lead actress as well. I've seen her in other dramas but this was honestly my favourtie series that she featured in.

Honestly, give this series a go!!! I promise you, that you won't have any regrets!!!!

I watched this whole thing in only 4 days, I got hooked

Flower of Evil started out REALLY strong, and hooked me in immediately. I watched the first 8 episodes in like two days, and I completed the whole drama in only four days. However, at the end half there started to be a lot of frustrations for me. The characters suddenly started to be really stupid and oblivious, like I can't believe it took the so called "detectives" so long to come to the most obvious of conclusions. To add, some of the characters acted in ways no sensible human being would ever act. Those scenes felt very frustrating and unrealistic. Also, there were some things at the end half of this that felt very unnecessary and cliche even, and the ending left a few open questions that were never really answered, which felt a bit disappointing.

However, despite the negative aspects that I mentioned, as a whole this drama is definitely worth the watch. All of the cast did a very good job, the OST songs were great, and the overall plot was very interesting and engaging. And I'm saying this as a person who very easily gets bored and loses focus in things. Flower of Evil kept my attention the whole time that I was watching it, which for me is impressive. I'd gladly recommend it.
