I liked it ... I think... or maybe not?
I honestly can't tell. I did watch all the episodes and It was both enjoyable and frustrating. Some things made sense, something were nonsensical. The lead actor is very handsome, the lead actress felt very one dimensional, the last episodes felt like patch work.What in the world was that Mandarin/Chinese??? I'm not a mandarin speaker, But i've heard enough to know when something (accent?)is off... this part was hilarious to me, I just kept laughing...but not in the way the writer probably wanted.
There were elements about the story, cooking, food in the show that looked like they wanted to mimic the ICONIC Mr Queen ... I chuckled at the audacity tbh.
I'd say If you have time to pass watching this, why not!

Ruan. Xiwen is it!
I haven't had a character be this captivating in a long time!! She was my favorite character her story, her sadness, her tenacity all around very well told. Well done to the actress, she was utterly riveting, her voice, facial expression and angst so so good I cried many times with her.I liked the drama overall, But there was a difference when *ahem* a certain character left ... by the end they ran out of steam, the characters lost their zest and I lost interest fairly quickly and skipped (about 8-9 eps) right to end and didn't feel like I missed much. I could tell what was going to happen and sure enough it did. The Lead actor was too stiff for me and the chemistry was mediocre.
It's a decent watch, especially the early parts with Xiwen! watch it for her performance

Fun, Fun, Fun ... With Slight Predictability
A great story about Jin Isoo, a wealthy man who finds his calling as a detective. The team, the cases, the action were enjoyable and the actors in their roles were a great fit.The FL may take some getting used to, as she comes off very one dimensional. The star of the show is the ML who I thought was really good and brought great variety to his performance. But because of this The ML and FL had meh chemistry ... but the Violent Crimes team 1 had great chemistry! I want to see more of the 4 of them in the second season.
I really wish the writers would not have included the tragedy plotline of ML parents ... it was all very predictable plot of rich families and the familiar tropes - angst, memory loss/suppression, miscommunication, greed, hate etc.
Not sure about rewatching ... but overall a fun action series that I recommend.

Absolute Classic
This show excels in every aspect. The performances, script, and action are perfectly intertwined. If you're in search of a blend of thriller, romance, action, and suspense, this outstanding series delivers on all fronts! It has raised the standard for other dramas in its category, and I haven't encountered any that come near its quality. A lovely quick hit of handsome men in suits with lots of blood!!!
As an action fanatic, shows like this are perfect for me ... not too long, good enough story and great action sequences. This one has it all, from the brooding, almost super hero like male lead, to the somewhat hidden (predictable) villain. I loved the pace, the fights, and ultimate lesson ... evil can only get away for so long and whatever a man sows, that he will reap.So, sow the time to watch this, I recommend it!

Is it Love or my fast forward button that never fails?
I'm still deciding if i hate or love this drama ... I did sit through all 40 + extra episodes. There are huge chunks of episodes that were not needed, you'll see if you watch. The constant montages over music got a bit old and the lead actress completely lost me by the end, no character development or range of acting or chemistry ... not good at all.Now I LOVED the 2 male leads and the 2nd FL. LXY is a favorite, and has been in most of the dramas I've seen this year, so kudos to him. But I think I fell for Ao in this one, though I've seen him in other dramas, this is the one I finally connected with him as an Actor. I really really liked his character. I liked their brother hood and the 2nd leads chemistry was great, wanted to see more of Kunlu & Luyao.
Overall an average watch, skip a lot of the middle section, but the last 5-6 episodes made it not a total failure for me!

Meets my action junkie heart... even with plot holes.
Chang Wook is so great in such roles, and i enjoyed him in this very much. The story seemed a little bit far fetched and therefore left some holes, how much beating can one take and seem to recover in 24 hrs? or is everyone a just a super hero? this is where you suspend logic and simply enjoy the ride.While I liked the characters, the villain just was off to me. The character was bordering on caricature and was not menacing at all for the level of crazy they tried to paint him as. I think he could have been written and acted better.
The finish was ok, not that satisfying... maybe that's a commentary on revenge in general.
If you love action and good fight sequences, then I think you'll enjoy this one
More of this type of series for Chang Wook please, I'll watch all of them.

Oh So Great!
This is up there in all-time favorite dramas. Everything worked! the characters - interactions & chemistry; the story; acting and all around combination. Amazing neighborhood shenanigans. Close to perfect blend of comedy + action!
This is one of my favorites of the year! I want more of this kind or similar.Every character nailed their part, even the minor ones! The story while simple enough, is written in a way that was refreshing, touching and so so so funny even with some inconsistencies and plot holes! I laugh out loud in many scenes through all the episodes.
The ML was on point in his delivery of a former bad*** agent, who now simply wants to be a neighborhood dad and friend. That brings me to the part i loved the most: The friendship and interaction amongst the characters was very good, they all had great chemistry and ...did I mention FUNNY together. I truly had a blast watching them and you will too.

Unsure of itself, but still action packed
Overall a good action series. The characters were not fully developed or written in such a way that made their stories compelling enough. The story moved so fast, that it became disjointed. The writers were not sure which perspective they wanted to capture or present, so therefore ended up with a caricature of gun ownership or usage. But overall I still liked the series, the action was great and loved the chemistry between both actors!Was this review helpful to you?
One of my favorite Liu Yu Ning's Character
This one disappointed me. It often left me confused and unsure of what was going on, didn't have the heart, fun and intrigue like the first season and not quite sure where it goes from here. I skipped some episode towards the end, simply because I wanted to see how it ended. Oh wellStill LYN character Di Li is one of my favorite of his, there's just a a level of aura that he brings to this role that is captivating, I didn't see enough of him in this season, But still you can see him growing as an actor and nailing his screen presence.
If you have time, sure this can pass it ...

I kept waiting to get bored ... it didn't happen
Overall a fun show, acting great, lead chemistry OK, OST fire, wanted to see more of some characters (Qian Lin, Tiahe). It at times felt like i kept waiting for something big to happen and it never really did. The action didn't really pick up till towards the end.Did mention the Soundtrack is amazing ... will be going on my playlist. If you have some time to kill this is will be a good pick up.

Love it, Wanted More!!!
Fun, action packed, punchy, gutsy, emotional, and all around solid! I really liked this and wanted more episodes, i binged all of it in one night.I liked the new characters, story, fight scenes and felt it did a good job continuing and rounding off season 1, while still being unique.
Those last scenes were very emotional. I wonder if some of the threads can be fleshed out for a 3rd season. is that certain character really gone and what happened. Since Si Eun is now a senior, we could possibly work that in as well.

Attention ... Unique, Spectacular, Action-Packed, Powerful Family
What.A.Show!!This hidden gem is everything it claims to be and more. I loved every piece of it and was blow away by the a unique story telling, the pace, and all the characters. It perfectly blended action, thriller, comedy, investigative parts to a delicious hit.
The lead actress nailed her character so well, I don't know if i should fear her or cheer for her
I want more, there has to be more. There is much to explore in terms of history of the characters and story. I'm so looking forward to it and really hope for more.

House built on lies ... a script built on cliches
First... ZL was excellent, and continues to solidify herself as top tier actress.Second.... story and premise seemed far fetched but started out great, then it lost cohesion, creativity and general interest. I was left with more questions, I don't think the set-up was strong enough.
Third...I hate that it became so cliches and predictable, there were possible storyline that if explored and written better would have elevated the entire show, especially parental relationships. The chemistry between ZL and WC wasn't that strong to begin with, and then it was just non-existent. Almost all the couple were very disappointing except Haoming's parents. Also why do writer's introduces the most bizarre story line towards the end of a show, you should be wrapping up your storylines not introducing new ones? weird
Fourth... I LOVED the OST the most!
Fifth...This can pass the time, 32 episodes a bit of a stetch as I was fast forwarding a lot of the episodes in the second half
