High tension level!

This is the series to watch when you want to watch something intense, complex, full of angst and tension.
I watched it all in a row in the middle of the night.
It is worth contemplating and identifying deeply with the characters. I was captivated.

I used to say that for every series you have to be in the right mood. It's important when you watch it.
I watched this at a time when I was looking for just such complexity.

This is not a series about office romance or school romance, but about two souls searching for themselves and each other, just starting to grow up.

Wow. One of the best.

This is definitely one of my favorite BL dramas I’ve seen so far. It felt so authentic and truly believable. The writing avoids many of the usual tropes and the acting is top rate. The direction and cinematography are film quality. The bar has been raised high. It brought me back to my own youth. So many feels!

A wonderful experience

I've long hesitated to write a review about this one because how does one write a review about something so beautiful as ITSAY?

I've seen many dramas, watched many shows and found many of them amazing and mind-blowing but I Told Sunset About You is something special amongst everything I have ever finished. Everything about it blew me away. It has an amazing cast that can act so good I find it hard to find anything worth my while after finishing ITSAY. The music too.. it just fits so well to the storyline which is only strengthened by the cinematography.. Each episode felt like a piece of art.

Likes:
- Teh's discovery of his feelings towards Oh Aew. It felt so realistic to have him doubt himself and those around him. I'm really happy they chose to show his struggle and hesitance to accept he might feel something romantic for a boy, and his fear for what everyone else might think about him.
- The cinematography. The way they filmed the show made me fall in love with Thailand (especially Phuket) and makes me want to visit it sometime. But there's so much hidden in between the lines and scenes. Like I said.. it felt like a piece of art while watching it.
- The music. Most of the songs are sung by the main leads but the instrumental versions blew me away too. Made me feel the feels that much stronger.
- The acting. This cast deserves all the awards and more. 5 episodes is not nearly enough and I need more. THANK GOD there's a season 2.
- The chemistry between the main leads. It was BOMB.
- Teh's immediate acceptance that Oh Aew was in love with a boy and his willingness to help.
- A supportive female friend.

Dislikes:
- Teh felt immature most of the time. It made me wonder if he had difficulty recognizing emotions in others or knowing how his actions could hurt others.. I did hate him for a long while because he treated his best friend like shit.

I feel like I can watch this how over and over again and never get bored. It's a true gem hiding in plain sight and I feel like every BL fan should watch this one.

A BL series which defines "PERFECTION"

I just want to say one thing—**this BL is DAMN GOOD.**
It hit me with such a powerful wave of emotion that for a while my brain literally stopped responding. I just sat there, staring, trying to process what I had witnessed. This wasn’t just a series—this was **absolute cinema**.

This is the kind of BL that **raises the standard of the entire genre**. It proves that BL can be deep, artistic, and emotionally overwhelming without trying too hard. The acting? **PHENOMENAL.** Honestly, words are not enough to describe how obsessed I am with their performances. Every expression, every silence, every emotional breakdown felt painfully real. The actors didn’t just play their roles—they **became** them.

The story and the acting complemented each other perfectly. Nothing felt forced, exaggerated, or unnecessary. It was raw, immersive, and deeply moving. I was hooked not because of shock value, but because of how genuinely it made me *feel*.

This BL is absolutely **worth watching**—no hesitation, no second thoughts.
Just watch it. Feel it. Let it hit you. And enjoy every second of this masterpiece.

Pure emotion

PLOT: In their senior year of high school, two inseparable friends are troubled by university entrance exams and the evolution of their feelings for each other.

+++ The two actors, Billkin and "PP" Krit, are absolutely brilliant, with minimal dialogue but powerful physical acting, posture, micro-expressions, and glances (´ ▽`).。o♡ Everything is charged with emotion! Kudos.
+++ The story is well-written. The hesitations and confusion associated with first love (especially if it's a guy and your best friend :), and the difficulties of finding one's identity, are well portrayed.
+++ Beautifully produced: sets, landscapes, framing, lighting... everything is meticulously crafted.
+++ Pleasant OSTs.

### No villains; all the characters are forgiving and empathetic (more so than in real life).

=> A very beautiful series about discovering your self- identity, carried by fantastic actors.
*******************************************************

+++ OSTs agréables.

### Pas de villain, tous les personnages sont indulgents, empathiques (plus que IRL).

=> Très belle série sur la découverte de son identité, portée par des acteurs fantastiques.

The Gold Standard of BLs

I cannot praise this bl enough. It’s an almost perfect bl. Realistically I would give it a 9.8 out of ten but MDL does not allow for that option. Everything is done to a high standard - the cinematography, the plot, the emotive acting, the soundtrack, the set design - everything.
It beautifully captures the feelings of first love, with the bittersweet heartbreak and raw emotional awakening that comes with it. I completely bought into this teenage romance. It resonated with the universal feelings of angst, uncertainty and overwhelming emotions we experience as teenagers. I would even put this series up against mainstream productions. It’s that good. It really is a cinematic masterpiece. This should be on every bl watcher’s list.

Why should you watch this ?

It's an interesting portrayal of the relationship one has with others but most importantly one's self. I really enjoyed the focus on self discovery. Loving yourself first, looking at your reflection in the mirror and being content with whom you see.

The love and affection that the main characters had for one another was beautiful, seeing them grow individually and together was unforgettable. They were just 2 people figuring out whom they are, what they want in the future and to whom their hearts yearn for, truthfully. Bilkin and PP Krit's acting abilities really gave their characters a voice. As viewers , we got attached to them because of how genuine and relatable they were.

I have watched this more than once and I promise you the moon, you won't regret watching it. If you aren't in a relationship, gurl aren't you about to feel single !

This isn't a BL, it surpasses that

ITSAY broke stereotypes and my heart, and I loved every second of it. The acting, plot, and characters were complex and beautiful. The way the characters struggled was so relatable and well executed it hurt. Not to mention the chemistry between the 2 leads, it was raw in a way few other BLs have portrayed.

I loved the overall ambiance of ITSAY, and wished there was another like it. (Haven't seen IPYTM, too scared it'll make me cry like ITSAY did)

Masterpiece

OMG. Masterpiece. Best coming of age, BL or drama I've seen in a long time. The scenery, the production, the chemistry, the acting, the screenplay, the love story, the editing. I fell in love with every single character from this story. It broke my heart and it healed it back again. This is a resounding 10/10.

One of the best thai bl out there, mostly cinematographically talking.

Recently I decided to rewatch this series and it still surprised me like the first time I watched it. It is just THAT good.
"At first, the story might seem cliché and not unique - it's a friends-to-enemies-to-lovers plot. However, as you watch episode after episode, you realize that it goes much deeper than that. It reaches a point where you feel a whole mix of emotions and understand each character's position, even though their positions are completely opposite.
The characters in the story are truly exceptional. Each one is meticulously crafted and written, allowing you to truly connect with their experiences. The fact that they are teenagers experiencing love for the first time adds an extra layer of complexity to the story, which I find truly incredible.
You see how these teenagers are new in life and how they don't realize about their actions, how desperately they try to change them and how much agony they go through to be forgiven.
The cast is just gold. The main characters are simply just incredible, the way they make you feel their emotions every single second is mind-blowing. You feel them. You understand them. Even when they do something wrong, you are able to see the reasons behind their decisions.
And my favourite part of this series is the way it is filmed. The cinematography. Just 10/10.
I love it when the camera stays still while the character is just walking around submerged in their own thoughts, it makes it feel even more realistic and close to you.
This series is one of the best in every category. I will surely be rewatching this pretty soon.
If you haven't watched it yet, don't lose a second and watch it. It's completely worth it, every single second.

Poetry in motion

This was a very odd experience for me. I think I was crying most of episode 4 and into the start of 5, and it's one of the only times I can remember being okay if the mains didn't end up with each other. I actually was hoping for most of the last half that it would go a different way, and I'm not used to that.

So let's talk about it. First off, I have to give immense credit to the writers and actors. The way they made you feel the emotions was absolutely insane, to the point where I often wanted to smack Teh and felt like he was breaking my heart. Oh-aew's facial expressions in particularly are etched in my mind now, and the hammock scene in episode two is stuck firmly as its next door neighbor. The middle episodes in particular had you feeling a sense of desperation and the desire they held for each other. It was like you felt a piece of thread being pulled tighter and tighter, and when you didn't think it could be tighter, it did.

I think of it as episode 3 was the crescendo and episode 4 was the crash. Simple intimacies were heavily integrated in the story in a way I think most BL misses, and that made this really special. Pair that with a sensational cast of characters, from Bas and Tarn to Hoon, and finally (my favorite) Tuty

I usually could care less about music in a drama, but this music was really integral and beautiful. It made sense and added to the story. There was always a purpose for everything in this drama I found, even some of the items of clothing provided statements.

If I can give one big takeaway for this, it's that the drama defines coming of age. The delicate exploration, the anxious trials of boundaries, the self-discovery... It's an experience.
