Finished with a "meh" but still got hooked

Hear me out. I know this makes no sense, but when I finished the series I was like "That was whack. Could have done so much better at many points." But I kept thinking about the characters and even more the chemistry the actors have that in the end I was hooked up on the material. Completely irrational, but I would rewatch the hell out of this show, pick out everything I hated, and still have a good time.

The plot is the getting together. For PhayuRain it's not that eventful, sometimes even borderline silly/dumb. Honestly, reads like a fanfiction. The leads have crazy chemistry, though, truly saving their story and my sanity.

PrapaiSky have a far heavier plotline that takes good writing and good acting to do properly. While I also adore the leads, I do believe they did not bring the necessary acting range to cover all of that. Pity, but I am rooting for them to approve over time. I would like to see them in another project with different dynamics.

Also the writing was Not Really Good.
Sexy scenes were enjoyable though.

Absolute worst was the audio. What the hell was wrong with the mics? They were so sensitive, you could always hear when two were hugging. Honestly, really annoying.

In conclusion: Do you know that fanfiction you know is kind of terribly written, but you keep on reading cause somehow it keeps hitting the right feelings? It's this but in a series format.

Drastically different quality from one story to the next.

I'm afraid Rain and Phayu set the bar too high for Sky and Prapai.

It's too bad, I really believe they had the material to make Sky and Prapai's story just as good. They even had the hype as it definitely seemed a lot of people were looking forward to them more than Rain and Phayu but the chemistry was nowhere near as good as BossNoeul and neither was the acting, though I was thankfully pleasantly surprised by Fort in some of the more emotional scenes in the last episode.
They kept all the interesting bits for the very end. I really don't get why you would want to do that. From their first to their penultimate episode, there's really not much happening... I don't think I could even tell you what happens besides Prapai is after Sky and Sky is resisting. Looking back, the way they meet is a pretty good indicator of how badly the rest of their story is going to be handled. Even without mentioning the acting, the whole thing didn't feel as polished as the first part. The phone calls alone were horrendous to listen to.

Let's not forget the good part, though. BossNoeul have insane chemistry. There's no awkwardness at all and the way they look at each other alone had me giggling like an idiot. Speaking of idiots, Rain is such a lovable dummy, I really love characters like that, but he's definitely one of the dumbest. I love him a lot ❤️ Thursdays were so much more fun with them.

I really went from such a high to a pretty low low... In my opinion, RainPhayu is 10/10; SkyPrapai is more of a 5/10. It's pretty jarring. It feels very strange to rate it so low after loving Rain and Phayu so much but at the end of the day, it wouldn't make sense to give higher than 7.5 to a show I wouldn't recommend you watch more than half.

Anyway, watch Rain and Phayu ❤️

Sweet if a little short

Overall I'd give this an 8 because while it was sweet and a great addition to the story, there were some things I wasn't a fan of.

Story:
I gave the story for this 8.5 because it was a good idea, but it could have been executed better. I think Rain and Sky were being a little petty, and the reasons for which they ran away/went on a trip alone together were a bit confusing. For Sky, it made sense why he'd be a little upset but I don't understand why that would warrant completely running away. For Rain, it was just a misunderstanding that Rain was being fairly childish and had much better ways of solving his issue. I understand that not everyone is perfect and people make mistakes, but they could have come up with better motivation for Rain and Sky's impromptu trip. Overall, the inclusion of Rain's kink was amusing, and their interactions after the misunderstanding was cleared were very sweet and funny to watch. The intimate scenes were also very nice and would totally recommend watching the episode. Despite what I said before, it was very entertaining and very much satisfied my craving for more of Rain and Payu (I'm not as much a fan of Sky and Prapai's relationship, I ship them but I think they're given a bit too much time)

Acting/Cast:
I gave the acting a 9.5. Of course, the cast is the same as the show for the main characters and they are all handsome as ever. The acting felt very natural, so props to the actors for doing a great job. I'm afraid I don't have much to say for this section as I don't necessarily analyze the acting unless I notice that it feels awkward, which it did not at all.

Music:
I gave the music a 9; I didn't really pay much attention to the music either but it was a nice addition to the scenes and went well with whatever was happening.

Rewatch value: I gave the rewatch value a 5. I'm not one to rewatch any of the bl's I've seen so far, which applies to this as well so be warned. I think this is just too short with a lack of the multitude of sweet scenes needed for me to like it enough to rewatch it. That's not to say there are no fluffy scenes; there are plenty. It's only a 70-minute-long episode, and there's only so much you can do when you're splitting the time evenly between two couples and I only have a high interest in one of them. It's a nice episode but not really worth rewatching purely because of how short and simple it is.

Overall:
Overall I gave this an 8 due to the mix of answers for the different sections. Story matters to me much more than anything else unless the acting is absolutely horrid, so keep in mind I consider this to be a positive review. It's genuinely a cute episode that shows the growth of their relationships after some time, which is a very valuable addition to the LITA.

The second part of the show is the far superior one

The first half of the show is fine. The acting is alright, the characters are entertaining, but it’s really not anything world-changing. The spicy scenes were well done though.
THE SECOND PART HOWEVER is a masterpiece. The chemistry of FortPeat is off the charts, the trauma plot has depth and is very moving. The spicy scenes are amazing. I watched the entire show for the second part and was not disappointed. The wait is so so worth it. If the entire show was just SkyPrapai/FortPeat, it would be a solid 100/10. Just amazing.
In summary: the first half is alright, and the second AMAZING.

THE BEST OF THE BEST!!!

I don't know how to start. BUT THIS IS THE BEST SERIES I'VE EVER SEEN!! I don't know why people hate it but for me, the chemistry is just muah 💋. I know that Sky is scared to go into another relationship again JUST BECAUSE THANKS TO HIS EX. But I'm happy that Sky opens up to Pai and trusts him. Now let's talk about Payu and Rain:
Their story was so good. I love both of the couples! Payu is soooo protective of Rain. The scene where Payu goes to save his Rain without any hesitation. I'm not gonna say anything far cause it's gonna be spoilers🤫. Back to Sky and Pai:
When their story started it was soo spicy! Just like Payu and Rain. I don't even know if I would agree to that when I just met someone but I really loveee their chemistry!!
Rain and Payu are a couple with lots of love! (Don't get me wrong, Sky and Pai are the same!)
I really recommend this series if you want spicy, but at the same time lovely, story!

The series was okay but a bit weird

I honestly liked it only because of Fort and Peat. The story itself wasn’t bad but the acting was kinda cringy especially from Boss. The spicy scenes were enjoyable but when it came to Payu and Rain i felt really weird. Im not hating on the actors, i really like em but they did Boss and Noeul dirty.

People can change

This Series is one of the first dramas that got me into Thai BL's in the first place. It created a sensual yet caring environment, showing that people can change overtime.

for example, the story between P' Pai and Sky felt really lustful at first, showing P' pai only wanted Sky for sex, But overtime, P' pai gradually grew fond of Sky, showing care for Sky as he comforted him throughout his problems.

another example was with P' payu and Rain, whom - frankly enough - met in the rain when Rain's car breaks down. The two end up in P' Payu's room, and P' Payu pushes Rain onto the bed, which Rain - obviously confused and Flustered - Tries to escape. Later on, P' payu becomes more caring towards Rain, Catching him standing outside his house one time in the rain and immediately Running up to him, worried about him.

Overall, this Series told me that People can change overtime. If you meet someone for the first time, their opinions on you will change overtime. This series is a 10 from me !

Not perfect........but close

I will definitely rewatch this drama.....however as good as it was it wasn't perfect. I will begin with some of the things I enjoyed though and go from there.

- Phayu's character was definitely, only to be underscored when I realised this was Boss's first drama (I mean wow the boy can act). The character was multi faceted and nicely balanced. Yes, he was pushy at times but he never went over the line, even though the writers did blur the line at times, when Rain made his stand clear. I enjoyed it greatly.
- The chemistry between the cast was amazing. not just between the couples but between the friends. they couldn't have chosen a better cast for this, you could really tell that the 4 leads got along brilliantly.
- The supporting cast were great, not one of the supporting roles let it down, they all acted well and bought something to the table, making the world richer.
- the cinematography was fantastic, with the bike races, the school and even the two showdowns (of Phayu in the warehouse and Prapai in his condo), you can tell they put some effort into it.
- the story worked together well. Originally its from 2 separate books but they managed to link the main cast in such a way that the story followed on without too much of hitch.

What i didn't like about it mainly comes down to 2 points.
- Prapai's character is set up at the beginning as a bad boy racer but soon becomes a pushover who has that edge taken off him. They managed to keep the edge on the phayu character while making the relationship work, and yes the sky/prapai relationship is different. But changing this confident, bad boy into a love strewn pushover, just changed the characters base idea too much for me.
-The plot. Now i mentioned I liked how they melded the two stories into one earlier, and I did. What I didn't like so much is the execution of it. The series is 13 episodes long (not counting the special episode) and it is basically spilt into almost 2 mini series. 7 episodes where phayu and rain are the leads, and prapai and sky are the second couple, then ep 8 onwards as Prapai/sky as the main cp with phayu/rain as the secondary leads. It even changed the theme music halfway through as well as the credits, and you begin again with the story (admittedly not for long). It just didn't work for me, I felt there were better ways they could have done it.

Over all though it was a great show and one I will definitely be revisiting. It is worth a watch if you like BL dramas.

However a warning...........It earns its 18+ rating!

Stormy love

Rain is so childish and self absorbed with a bad attitude and all the more ridiculous when his best friend was gassing him up about his looks in a way that didn't make any sense until learning that outside of the show, the actor is actually half Korean. He's indeed really slow on the uptake as Payu as well as his own friends tell him, which makes him so initially frustrating to watch. Rain not understanding the signals could be chalked up to his inexperience, especially only just freshly discovering that he's also bisexual like Payu, but all his other actions are ridiculous and really as a result of his unable to accept his own attraction to Payu. Payu for his part is into this annoying freshman, because for some reason it's cute, but he also tries to mentor Rain as an architecture department alumni that just graduated the year before, which is lucky for Rain. Once their relationships kicks in, Rain shapes up a bit, even learning to care about someone other than himself and becomes more easier to watch. The rich people bathrooms with the large exposed windows is always weird, but a bath while it rains outside looks looks so cozy outside of the what the characters are doing. The nc scenes are daring comparatively to other shows, but surprisingly tasteful and mostly works because thes actors for Payu and Rain have no awkwardness about it. They have good commitment and team work to actually convey the character's connection and even character development through the intimacy. I do appreciate the other displays of affections are also straightforwardly presented without the annoying romance slow motion and music effects. Both the couples have some questionable moments at the start of the relationship with the older guy's actions, but compared to the other bl adaptations from the same author, this is has way more consent involved.

The story feels grinded to a halt when it suddenly shifts to the second couple as the main story. It's not that Sky's story isn't interesting, but the pacing takes a big hit to suddenly literally play the exact same scenes of Rain and Payu again for some reason along with the new Sky POV. The reveal of Sky's bad relationship past and then the misunderstanding is also dragged out for too long. Payu and Rain pretty much disappears from the story aside from occasionally showing up as a sounding board for Sky and Pai respectively, which is a shame because Payu is the most interesting character with a unique personality in the whole show and therefore his relationship with Rain is the most interesting. The second couple is not well acted enough to take on the amount of screen time that is demanded of them for their storyline as well. I did like that one scene of Sky lying through his teeth to hurt Pai enough that Pai has tears streaming down his face. Psychologically, Sky's story is pretty tragic, even his initial one night stand with Pai is partially because of his lack of self esteem from his trauma conflicting and overlapping with his desires combined with the flirting and the threat that Pai's request in exchange for leaving the illegal event is. The resolution doesn't feel really complete like any justice was to be had for Sky who was sexually and mentally assaulted and abused by his ex once again. I'm glad Sky got some kind of catharsis though.

It's such a disjointed feeling that the series just wrapped on on Sky and Pai like Payu and Rain was just tertiary characters the whole time rather than the main characters. It seems to be two different books adapted at the same time and the script definitely should have just intertwined them instead of telling them one at a time for better pacing. It feels like such a waste of Payu's character who has the potential for more story there was in the show.

Midly enjoyable thanks to Pai's smile

This drama consists in two different parts telling the story of two different couples.
The first one is so cringe I felt it down my skin. The actors are not to blame, but the no-sense dialogues, the cringey lines. Rain is such a kid, he's basically the classic bimbo waiting for a daddy to take care of him. And I HATED that. Sometimes he says stuff - mostly sexual innuendos - that are just too cringey to be true (ex. ep 7 where he says "P' Payu is the only one who can screw me" to the one who just kidnapped him). Let's not forget the "punishment" scene where Payu smacked Rain's butt: no, it was not anything bdsm, they were not in any kind of relationship, they were basically strangers. What's wrong with the author? That's called assault.
I don't even know what kept me from dopping this - maybe the chemistry was good enough to save the almost-whole thing.

I enjoyed the second part the most. We still have the chasing-concept (almost stalking at some point), but we can see the effort Pai put in gaining Sky's trust. Their relationship started in the most toxic way, but it ended up with a clamorous character development from both sides and I enjoyed it the most. We can see how Pai cares a lot about Sky, how he really wants to take care of him despite his first intention to just get laid with him. And I really enjoyed that. The actors did a great job.
Still, the flaws were in the script. I mean. Sky's trauma is showed just when necessary to create some drama. You shouldn't talk about sexual assault if you're going to take that easily - this was troublesome.
Another HUGE problem of this latest part is the sound problem: music sometimes is louder than the dialogues, the phone-calls are just cringe when you can hear the voice on the phone LOUDER than the voice of the actor on the screen.

In the end, what I'll remember dearly of this drama is Pai's smile. That is the cutest.

Nothing to “ride” home about.

This was actually the first BL I watched and while waiting for the rest of the Eps, I managed to binge a few others over the past few weeks and boy, am I glad I did.

Things felt disjointed and I think that came from the imbalanced set-up of telling two different relationship stories one after another instead of intertwining them. There are very few instances in dramas where this technique works, but I think it’s fair to say that this is a great example of how the technique behaved more like a magnifying glass, illuminating the flaws of the plot itself.

The style in which the story was told wasn’t too bad. It was visually appealing, had the aesthetics to portray the racing world of Prapai and Phayu and some decent music choices for the more “iconic” scenes. The problem I had was with the “flow” of plot and with certain dialogue that was (not) used. Personally, I felt that they tried to tackle too many obstacles and because of this, we got very surface level solutions/responses from the characters. This did such a disservice to the character’s growth and progress of the plot, because they essentially had to rush over certain topics that, in my opinion, should never be rushed or overlooked.

It’s an easy watch that, in pretence, puts plasters on gaping wounds, but besides some of the steamy scenes and eye candy, in terms of the plot, it’s your typical ‘Wattpad’ story as another MDLer* so nicely put it! ;)

A good show, but definitely not for the faint of heart.

I just want to make it clear that there's a very strong 18+ warning on this show. Not only are there multiple non-con scenes but some of the later episodes go pretty in depth about abuse etc. If you can't handle more controversial shows then this one probably isn't for you, but if that doesn't bother you then this series is definitely worth it.

The intimacy between the two couples was very well written and didn't feel forced at all. The chemistry flowed really naturally, probably thanks to talented actors. The trope of a confident guy going after a shy naive guy is pretty overused in this genre but this show managed to pull it off really well. Their personalities bounced really well off of each other and a lot of moments in the show felt very endearing and sweet.
