Intelligently made
I enjoyed watching this drama. It is rare to see dramas put the spotlight to an evil character and this drama pulled it off too well. The murders of the serial killer was well thought of, intelligent, and mind blowing. He has really no ounce of empathy left in his heart. I also love how they didn't make him seem like he turned evil because of his past but actually evil because he chose to surrender to his thoughts. Although I was quite disappointed when the serial killer got amnesia and forgot his indentity, and I was complaining the whole time on why an innocent character like Sung Yo Han has to die being labelled as the serial murderer. Anyways, I give all the applause to Lee Seung Gi for delivering his character so well. The characters were amazing too, specially Go Mu Chi. However, it gets a little confusing to me when the story keeps on getting tangled to more details that could either answer an existing question or bring another puzzle to make sense. Overall, this was a great watch. I enjoyed the murders (I may look like someone who enjoys killing but that's not it), I think they were really detailed and well written. I could have enjoyed this more if it weren't for spoilers I saw on TikTok (that's why I knew beforehand it was Jang Ba Reum who is actually the serial murderer). Was this review helpful to you?

GOOD DRAMA BUT SO MANY THINGS HAPPENING THUS CONFUSING
Contains Spoiler!I didn't expect it to be this intense and "complicated." It is a good story, I am not gonna lie. But the thing is the show is trying to be several things at the same time and at some point it gets confusing. The acting is very good, every actor and actress is amazing tbh. OSTs weren't really memorable, they didn't really leave an impression on me. There were so much background info and stories about almost every single character so you have to pay attention. Sometimes even though you do, you might still get confused. Also, personally, I really like Kyung Soo Jin, but I feel like her acting wasn't really good or maybe she didn't really fit the role I am not sure but it kind of kept catching my attention, especially in the episodes before Bareum's recovery from that fight with Yohan. Lastly, it's a long drama, 20 episodes, but it also kind of feels rushed. (?) It was still a good drama though, but a lot of things happened, I am not sure how much I'll remember though.

sad reality
Excellent series! But so confusing after episode 15!Idk if it’s possible to really identify a psychopath gene, but I think that even if there is, not every person with such a gene will become a psychopath - a fact. It all depends on upbringing or its absence, the society in which the person lives, and also the attitude of parents towards such a child before, during and after pregnancy. Any person, even with the best genes, in a bad environment and a bad attitude towards him, can get angry at others and start taking revenge. And this is also a fact.
And it is not the children who are to blame for the set of genes, but the parents who produce these genes themselves .. so you should not blame your children, but yourself first of all.
I didn’t even know who to think after the 14th episode who is to blame if not Son Ye Han, although at the beginning of the film, when Jung Baryum met his father’s eyes, I realized that most likely it would be him! True, they then showed only his good side, which was misleading and nevertheless became a discovery after his operation who he really was. It’s a little pity for him, it turns out he wouldn’t have become like that if it weren’t for his childhood and the attitude of the people around him who used him for their own purposes and provoked a number of cases in his life that led to such consequences. He felt and saw in his eyes how they treat him, with apprehension, hatred, any normal child would feel just as uncomfortable, so it seems to me that initially his mother’s attitude towards him during pregnancy was transferred to him, + the relationship with fear of his mother and mother he lived in a constant lie, it is not surprising that he grew up not like everyone else! I didn’t like most of all that people who knew (the organization that used him) about his condition and genes provoked him to kill .. if he knew everything from the very beginning, perhaps he would not have become like that. On the other hand, this is not an excuse for him, he could control himself and not succumb to bad desires .. but still the roots of his problem, why he became so in relation to people towards him, is in education. I think everything would be different if his mother would give him love and instill this feeling in him from childhood and also raise him correctly and not give him to another woman .. what kind of mother is this!? It was easier not to give birth.
I liked the fact that he nevertheless gained humanity thanks to the operation and wanted to change and confessed to everything!
Even Detective Muchi and OBoni had some sympathy for him after everything that had happened but it was hard for them .. they can be understood. I don’t even know what would be the correct outcome, but whatever one may say, he is also a victim in this story, although he is a killer. What pissed me off the most was that Choi Shin, the head of this organization, allowed him to kill only for the sake of future election ratings .. ended up as well. See got that for what she fought for ..
it's horrible ! We can say that she is the main criminal who used a sick person for her own purposes.
Although there is too much violence in the script itself, to some extent it looks real and very sad .. so terrible is the selfishness of several people here who, because of their unhealthy idea, have crippled the lives of so many people! And these are people in power .. it’s even scary to imagine that this is an indirect message that in reality it may also be that we simply don’t always realize it.

Korean drama are the best
A mystery inside a mystery, even if you are not into thriller and crime as the genre, you will fall in love with this plot like me.This masterpiece is such a rollercoaster of emotion, especially if you follow all the plot twists and, without notice, get attached to all characters, even the antagonist that will play such a crucial role in the story; who will you believe?
It might look like a simple story, but it is like a web; all scenes directly or indirectly play a role in the story, and everything is related to the mysterious truth.
This drama also presents such important topics in our modern society, and they really knew how to touch the public heart easily; it also is such an occasion to make a consideration about
the dark side of people.
The magic of this drama is that you must finish till the end to understand what happened, without any spoilers, but the script's author is such genius.

Good show
I liked the show a lot, but I guess we could have less episodes and still wrap it brilliantly. 16 was enough, I got lost and confused at times, the added so many "new" serial killers when they could easily just focus on Berum story who they had a lot show.Yo han had his name cleared finally, they could have focused on Hong Joo story a little bit more, the parts they added was very satisfying I wish we could have more of that.
The acting was great I love shows with underated actors, even though Lee Seung Ki is very famous and brilliant.
Anyways great show and amazing ending.

What did I just finish
It’s the kind of story you walk into and get out of as a different person. I don’t recommend this if you want something cool and easy to watch but if you’re to more of a deep dive that will genuinely leave you speechless this is the perfect show. But to the summary what I liked and what I didn’t.
I loved how Lee Seung Gi portrayed Jung Bae Reum, I can’t say it was prefect but it was very close to perfection. I also really loved how it took on the subject of psychology, Jung Bae Reum’s transformation from a merciless serial killer to a person that was eaten up by guilt has definitely taken a toll on me.
Now I only disliked one thing, how long it takes for a one scene to be finished. They start a scene that will leave viewers questioning and only reveal the full one after like 5 episodes. It could be enjoyable to some people that like to build suspension but to me it was annoying to say at least. I didn’t include it in my rating though because it’s an individual problem.
Anyways, if you’re a thriller fan “mouse” is a MUST watch.

wasted potential for a larger conversation
This drama really wrecked me, in a good way and bad way. Actually after concluding this show I still haven’t been able to watch a crime drama. I think it’s safe to say this show scarred me in a way that I can’t properly explain. It both enthralled me and exhausted me at the same time. I had to take breaks in between increments of episodes because it was very intense, even for me, a person who likes this genre. As much as this show captivated me, it's not to forget the problems I had with it.The first episode did an excellent job of explaining the back story of our main characters, but not revealing too much to the point where the twists became obvious. In the first ep we are introduced to a society where psychopaths can be detected at birth. This does indeed cause a stir amongst new mothers because the possibility of your child being born as such creates a real fear. The issue I have with this is jumping to conclusions. Not all psychopaths turn into killers, but once your child gets that label, you're going to deny them the TLC that every child needs? That aspect of the show was a huge and misleading generalization, and perhaps if handled differently, could’ve saved a lot of people from public isolation and demise. On a parenting level I think Ba Reum’s mother failed him miserably. I found it incredibly sad that she chose to distance herself from her son–her blood–instead of giving him the attention that she should’ve given him. That church scene was a cry to God.
Moochi was entertaining at first but his messiness and slowness to piece things together got very repetitive. Looking back I don’t understand how he kept getting cases. His obsession with catching his family’s killer turned into a nasty alcohol addiction and just not being fit for crime work in general. He might’ve been a great detective when he started but his grief and the stress of the job obviously caused him to get lazy and leave loose ends which led to more tragedy.
I liked Sung Yohan’s character but I feel like he could’ve been utilized better. The female characters were forgettable.
Even though the second half of the show was convoluted I really put all my might into trying to follow the story and keep up to date with all the plots. I did think that towards the end it became more about just finding out who the culprit than figuring out every little thing. Yall, my head started to hurt after every episode because I was literally using all of my brain power to work through this enigma of a show. Was the ending worth it to me? For the most part, yes. Ba Reum being the big bad wasn’t as shocking as the writer wanted it to be, but I was so exhausted from the mouse chase that I was ok with just about anything at that point. Him being the real serial made logical sense in my head considering the brain transplant surgery and the weird hallucinations Ba Reum saw which were his actual gruesome crimes. Ngl the visions kinda gave it away but the whole brain surgery thing was CRAZY. The villain subplot to make a military-like army of psychopaths was stupid and I didn’t care about it one bit. There were so many other things you could’ve made a secret organization do. I would’ve been more forgiving of the plot holes if the core of the show was better. The theme of living in a world where psychopaths are detectable from an early stage is an interesting idea, but the drama didn’t flesh out this concept as much as it could've. Your morals will definitely be challenged watching this and you will definitely get mentally involved if not emotionally.

Solid Thriller, But Drags a Bit
Mouse kept me hooked with its wild twists and killer acting—everyone nailed their roles, and the core story about psychos and revenge is super intriguing. That said, it got complicated fast, and I wish they'd explained things clearer without dumbing it down. At 20 episodes, it felt way longer than my usual sweet spot (I can binge 16-20 eps easy, but this one exhausted me toward the end). The 2 special episodes? Hands down the best—such a perfect payoff. Why not weave it into the main run and trim to 18 eps? Still, solid watch overall if you like mind-bendy K-dramas.Was this review helpful to you?
Exploring the Mind of a Killer: A Gripping Dive into the Psychopath’s Mind
The series follows a gripping storyline that begins with murders committed 20 years ago, which gradually lead to a current-day killing spree. A plot twist introduces a technology used to identify children with psychopathic genes, focusing on two such children. As the story unfolds, the audience is kept on edge, wondering whether these children have become killers themselves and if they are connected to the present-day murders. The cast is exceptional, with Lee Seung Gi delivering a standout performance as a psychopathic killer, perfectly capturing the dark, unsettling tone of the series. The show creates an intense atmosphere, with the series playing with psychological and emotional complexity. Mouse, alongside "Beyond Evil", stands out as one of the best Korean psychological thrillers of 2021, focusing on the mind of a psychopath and exploring themes of remorse and emotional conflict.
The show does an excellent job portraying the inner workings of a psychopath’s mind, despite the dramatic liberties taken. However, while the series is engaging from start to finish, some aspects of the plot fall short. The ending, which introduces a high-class conspiracy and a swift resolution to the villain's identity, felt rushed. The narrative could have benefited from further character development, particularly the exploration of the main character's internal conflict, which was a highlight but ultimately left unexplored.
While the plot sometimes relied on convenient answers, the show maintained its suspense and intensity. The character of Kwon Hwa Woon, though intriguing, was underused, and his storyline could have been more fleshed out. Despite these minor shortcomings, Lee Seung Gi’s performance remains the highlight of the series. His portrayal of a morally ambiguous character is captivating and elevates the series significantly.
In conclusion, "Mouse" is an intense psychological thriller with superb acting and a gripping atmosphere. While the plot falters in certain areas, particularly toward the end, the series remains an addictive watch for fans of suspense and psychological dramas. However, it's not for those seeking light-hearted themes or romance, as it is dark, mature, and intense in its storytelling.

Top notch storyline
This crime drama exceeded my expectation. The twist and flow of the story was superb, not too hasty nor slow... its almost perfect to make you sit on your chair for the entire season.what I realize from this series is that... Giving or granting psychopath - serial killer emotion and conscience is like both gift and curse... its worse than death and life imprisonment...
The dilemma and feelings toward the ends was so strong... his repentance and salvation... the ending was just right... but I was also wondering, death was too easy for his father and that secretary... those are the thing I'm not satisfied.
