Lee Seung Gi is a God. That is all.
Okay, so this wasn't the perfect show that I was expecting. I unfortunately had very high hopes after reading other reviews and seeing the show's enduring popularity since its release. I could see the big twist from a mile away, albeit not entirely -- though it seemed obvious from the outset that something was up, I could never have predicted the actual plot. The first plot twist was interesting. The second was good, despite being predictable. The ensuing revelations were just a bit too... insane for my liking. Unrealistic? Let's go with unrealistic. Maybe I'm just the type of person to like realism in my crime thriller investigation shows, idk. But, oh my god, Lee Seung Gi did not disappoint. Lee Seung Gi went above and beyond any expectations I had of him. Lee Seung Gi's performance carried this show on his back like Atlas at the edge of the Earth. Lee Seung Gi is a god. Like, we should literally get on our knees and bow. That's how good he is in this show.
With my personal reservations about this show and its... realism in its latter half, a weaker actor, or even just an actor taking a different route to Lee Seung Gi, might've turned this drama into a total let down for me. Yet, despite its issues, goddamn did I cry like a baby at the end of this show. And goddamn did I wake up in the middle of the night for days after finishing this show, cold sweat, thinking about it. Thinking about Lee Seung Gi and how much of a goddamn god he is. Again, bow.
So, yes. Watch this drama. Even for Lee Seung Gi alone (but especially for Lee Seung Gi, regardless), watch this drama. And bow.
P.s. that goddamn bird. that goddamn bird.

Mouse – Masterclass in Psychological Thriller
Mouse is the kind of drama that demands your full attention.... blink, and you miss a crucial detail.
The first episode is intentionally confusing, but by episode two, the suspense, tension, and eerie atmosphere hook you completely. What initially feels like a straightforward crime drama soon transforms into something far deeper and more unsettling.
One of the strongest aspects of Mouse is how boldly it plays with identity, morality, and perception. Just when you think the culprit is revealed, the drama flips the narrative with shocking twists, especially around Ba Reum and Yo Han. The reveal that changes the entire foundation of the story is executed brilliantly and forces viewers to rethink everything they believed until that point.
The drama also doesn’t shy away from criticizing media exploitation, the failures of the justice system, and society’s obsession with sensationalism. At the same time, it explores the disturbing psychology of killers and challenges the viewer with uncomfortable moral questions about punishment, justice, and human nature.
What makes Mouse truly powerful is how it blurs the line between good and evil. Even when the truth is revealed, emotions remain conflicted. It’s intense, disturbing, and exceptionally well-written...
a standout psychological thriller that keeps you questioning everything till the end.

Not impressed but not bad
seriously, I hate leaving reviews on Drama's before finishing them but this is just no. Straight off from episode 1 I was just not impressed. Episode one was all over the place for me. It was messy and irritating. It began getting a bit more interesting when they began introducing the idea to identify psychopaths' before they were born. The psycopath gene and genius gene was quite interesting but it just went downhill again.Episode 2 on the other hand was great! I loved watching that kid and his past, the fact that he scratched his own arm just to control his irritation to others was great. then again it began going down and I nearly dropped the show like 5 times. Ep 3 was mid.
Episode 4 was incredible! the 7 deadly sin's part was genius, I never would have thought of that. The whole news broadcast in ep 4 was perfection, I would rewatch that episode alone. Then again the rest was just pathetic and messy.
after episode 4 the rest was unbareable. I HATE Bong Yi will all my heart. She irritates me beyond words. she was unbearable, I hate characters like her.
Sung Yo Han totally saved the show for me. Definitely my fave character, The second they killed him I knew this show would be crap. The whole brain surgery thing was where I almost gave up entirely.
Even though I hate it, I will finish the show because I have dignity. If by some chance I end up likin the rest of the show I will update my review and change my rating but at this point, I wont be able to rate in higher than a 5. I adore thriller and crime mystery drama but this one is just not for me,
edit: Oh my god!! I am so happy i decided to continue. the plot twist in ep 14 was pure GOLD. who wrote this script?? some sort of mastermind probably. My rating went up from 5 to 7.5. Amazing

The reveals remain impactful even for someone who was spoiled
There's acting that moves the audience to applaud in awe while watching, and then there's Lee Seung-gi whose performance is so immersive that it’s easy to forget I'm watching a drama. The feeling of it being very natural is primarily the reason I want to give the show the highest rating.Within the landscape of detective kdramas Mouse has one of the most efficient character utilization. Even though the cast fulfills familiar character templates - the cool chief, the slightly clueless but useful sidekick, the rat, the dependable detective, the rival, the ex partners, and the detective who crosses between good and evil with compelling reason - the portrayal is balanced and does not lean on exaggerated clichés.
Where the storytelling stumbles is the abrupt disconnect in the middle. From a cohesive narrative episode by episode the jarring transition to an unrelated arc pulls the viewer out of the previously built momentum.
I give merit to the idea of science-fiction though it does not appeal to me. The morality discussion will be left to those who are inclined to dig into it.
One aspect surprisingly overlooked is the mother’s role. With her insistence on shouldering the blame for her son, she never fully confronts that she maneuvered circumstances that significantly shaped who the characters became. The pd lady was another character with useless lines. Aside from her program being too convenient for the plot, she attempts to position herself as a key figure especially in moments where she provokes the “father of all psychopaths” only to ultimately contribute little to none. The plot is better served by the two other characters who take over the crucial end.

I watched Mouse a year ago and has been feining for more ever since. This vibe is so thrilling to me, because of some suggestions off tiktok i watched "Blind" and "Flover of evil" but none of them came close. I really hope Mouse resurfaces the internet and gets the attention it deserves.

Amazing
This show made me cry for a serial killer - that takes a massive amount of talent and skill. It was so well done, the acting is amazing, the story left me guessing and praying as to who the actual killer was, it was just amazing. There are some parts that strained credulity, like I just couldn’t buy into it as even remotely plausible, but they played an important plot role, so it ended up being well done. There were some parts where I couldn’t tell if it was a flashback and got a little confused, and one part where it seemed to just jump to something entirely different without explanation. I wish that had been clearer. It’s possible I just didn’t understand due to not being fluent in Korean and mostly reading subtitles.Overall I thoroughly enjoyed it; I was glued to the screen every minute I possibly could be, and was thinking about it when I was not. Just an astounding acting job by the two male leads. I am not usually into scary stories, but I loved this. I want to watch it again to see what I missed the first time around.

*SET THE BAR WAY TO HIGH*
lemme inform you first before you watch this kdrama you might have a really hard time finding your next kdrama after this, it took me like 2 month to get over this. LSG played the role JBR way too well it was like 3 characters (his own personality, JBR personality, SYH personality) he deserve a raise. And i usually always yearn for a second season in LSG drama but for mouse i don't even need one the ending is just top notch unlike other kdrama which ending was really rushed it felt like it was really well-writtenWas this review helpful to you?

Good premise but mediocre output.
The OST is God-tier. But the pacing of the show was not good. They would introduce new things too slow or too fast. Prime example is OZ and the Law about Psychopth genes. Yes the plot twists were good, it made me believe Yohan was the killer (Though I knew from the start JBR killed Chikook at the beginning). It was a good show overall but the predator 1 and 2 shouldnt have been special episodes and rather it shouldve been integrated within the show. It may be my own opinions but I wished they couldve added more to the childhood scenes of Yohan and JBR.Was this review helpful to you?

Nice storyline with a high predictability.
When I started watching this, I really wished this one to be something I really wanted at the moment. When it up to the first episode of this k-drama it hooked me in a higher position, and I really felt that my heart skipped a beat. But I must say that second episode onwards the story was normal and there were nothing comparing to the first episode. I could not really explain whether it is because there were a lot of details in the first episode or rest of the episodes did not include enough details. Apart from that fall, when it's up to the story almost all of the incidents of the k-drama became upside down, but I really could not say that storyline was really matched with the incidents. First, they showed that the almost all of the crimes were done by someone else but finally they showed that all of them were done by the main male lead, there was something cannot be happened at the same time when it up to the crimes and crime prevention. There was nothing except to his own memory and there was nothing other than his own evidence and no one ever suspected him about anything, how can this be possible. I predicted it from the first episode only because of one of the promotional posters, there was one poster including main male lead sitting Infront of a victim and that small glimpse gave me such cliche and made me to suspect main male lead as the suspect but even though I watched almost all of the story knowing what will happen next but none of the incidents were really acceptable within the time that main male lead got. Simply put not only main male lead but also the god will not be able to do those each and every crime and crime prevention incidents at the same time especially in the TV SHOW episodes of that K-drama. It means the culprit do the crime same time and whining on the culprit same time and change each and every clothe and blood stain and cover each and everything very nicely while helping the cops to catch himself. Finally, he succeeded pretending the good person while ending the real good person's life while the brain surgery even though he is unconscious.IS NOT THIS RIDICULOUS? IF THIS IS NOT RIDICULOUS ENOUGH NOTHING WILL BE RIDICULOUS ENOUGH FOR YOU. Not just because I watched this with a hunch of what will happen, but the story was ridiculous with my hunch and finally my hunch of "main male lead is the culprit" became something ridiculous. But near the end they showed that my hunch is correct and culprit or the male lead have somehow managed to do each and everything at the same time. A viewer who did not have a hunch like above can really accept the fact that the male lead is the culprit but me who guessed each and every thing correctly and watched this with that hunch cannot accept that above fact because there were many falls when it up to that fact because I can clearly remember each and every incident with crimes very clearly because the story did not match with the flow of incidents. Somehow, I am not going to reject this as a crime thriller k-drama as I already said that the imagination and the story as well as the flow of incidents have their own perfections but when it came as one there were some unacceptable moments that cannot be matched even though we try hundreds of times. I really appreciate the perfect skills of the actors and actresses and their harmony and chemistry as a whole. Was this review helpful to you?
“Mouse” Thrills with its Mind-Blowing ...
One word : masterpieceThe Korean drama Mouse gives us an insight into psychopathic killers. The dark theme of this drama, coupled with the fact that Lee Seung-gi is the male lead, caught our attention.
Lee Seung-gi in this drama was phenomenal. The way his true character was revealed and how he executed that change was a thing to watch. He delivered perfectly what was asked for the role. His tears, guilt, sadness, and regrets shown in the penultimate and finale episodes were magnificent. The way his emotions were expressed through the character was truly worthy of praise.
