Zhang Cheng Ling, Zhou Xu and Wen Ke Xing are surrounded by the beggar gang, who asks Cheng Ling to follow them to the Five Alliance. Zhou Xu fights them off and takes Cheng Ling away. Wen Ke Xing murders the rest of the gang. Gu Xiang visits Lovelace, one of the ten devils of Ghost Valley to pass on an order from her Master: everyone outside has to gather at Sanbai Manor near Tai Lake. Zhou Xu and Cheng Ling are followed by Wen Ke Xing once again. He tries to enquire about Xu"s sword, which seemed to be a weapon unique to the Four Seasons Manor, much to his displeasure. Qin Song, one of the Four Assassins of Scorpion Organization attempts to lure Cheng Ling into the woods and Zhou Xu helps stop him by playing the flute. However, he is angry with Cheng Ling for being too weak and having never practised martial arts despite being past the age of mastering it. Cheng Ling requests Xu to accept him as a disciple, which he doesn't approve of. Wen Ke Xing encourages Cheng Ling to be persistent about it. Ao Lai Zi of Mount Tai sect is chased by Tao Hong and Lv Liu for the glazed armor. Shen Shen arrives and the three of them fight while Ao Lai Zi and his disciples get away. Cheng Ling is brought to Sanbai Manor, where he is greeted by Zhao Jing, leader of the Tai Lake sect, and the second brother of the Five Lakes Alliance.
