I really enjoyed this drama, though I found the ML annoying & childish at first. But I liked him more as he matured & worked to better himself, for both his career & to be able to love/protect the FL better. He has a closely guarded secret - he’s mostly illiterate. He can usually hide it, but sometimes he epically fails. Thus his request for the FL to tutor him & help him prepare for an upcoming role he wants to play. And so their chaotic but sweet story begins…

The FL is such a kind soul. She’s recently been betrayed by her bf, the cheater. I admired how, despite her pain, she remained sweet, mature, & strong. The ML rescues her from multiple awkward encounters, endearing himself to her. As they spend time working together & cohabitating, their partnership quickly turns to friendship & mutual attraction.

This is a very healthy duo. They respect & fully trust one another, never letting outside opinions influence their decisions regarding each other. The FL does leave when her presence impacts his career, but the ML chases her down & lays her fears to rest. And the way he proudly announces his love for her to the public is ACES! He defied everyone for her & it was so sweet!! 🫠🫠 I really enjoyed this drop due to their relationship. It’s silly & fluffy & cheesy which makes it a very easy watch.

The Male Lead Development!

Honestly I was a bit hesitant to continue this because of how much the male lead was such a brat. But after watching more, I completely fell in love with him and how much he cared about the female lead. I think my favorite thing about the ML is that he defends himself and the FL with no hesitation (especially against her EX boyfriend and EX best friend).

The female lead on the other hand kind of lost me towards the middle of the drama. I’m the beginning FL was strong and stood her ground against the ML whenever they fought. However, it seems like since she broke up with her boyfriend she become a little sheep. Whenever the ML scolded her she just sat there and apologized with her head down or even when someone who she doesn’t even work for yelled at her which was kind of annoying most of the time. But the positive thing is that she started growing towards the last few episodes where she saved the ML’ s reputation.


In conclusion the ML is what made me stay in this drama and I would definitely rewatch this for the funniest moments.

Pleasantly Unexpected

I stumbled upon this drama quite unexpectedly and honestly, after the first episode, rather by the end of the first episode was ready to drop it. But then, almost as a second thought I went on to watch episode 2 and then 3 and after that was hooked onto the drama. Although there are some expected coincidences that look manufactured and at times, the ML despite being a superstar is able to roam around freely almost without anyone noticing, what has endeared to me the most is the performances. The ML has excellent comic timing and is actually a very good actor--given that the lead actor plays an actor who has average acting skills early on in the drama and who evolves as an actor over the course of the drama. There is one scene particularly when he compares his performances in his earlier films/shows and enacts before his girlfriend how he should have done that scene or how he would do it now. There are 3 layers of acting involved here--one the actor who plays the ML, two the ML who is playing a lead (betrayed lover, police officer, etc.) in some movie/drama that is shown on screen, and three the ML who is comparing his performances on screen with performances before his girlfriend (the FL). Besides there are several other scenes of the characters that are actors acting on screen which gives an element of metanarrative to the narrative of the drama.
Apart from performances, the character of the supportive father of the FL is a relatively unconventional role; someone who would not believe his daughter's ex-boyfriend despite him being a favourite student of his.
And then, the writing. It may not appear at first glance but this show has some intelligent writing going on. Especially with the dialogues--that are hilarious and heartfelt.
The biggest weakness of the drama to me is the 1D villains.though the twist of the female villain character towards the end is unexpected and one feels bad for her. The male antagonist does not seem to have any major subtext and his villainy seems more of a plot device for the ML to shine.
One last thing, i found it particularly interesting that it was the SML and the SFL whose story had a greater arc (and possibility of arc of) evolution than the ML and FL. But, this again, I found a pleasant departure as in many cases there was a strong possibility that the story arc of the second leads would be the main plot and that of the main leads would be the secondary plot. In any case, the two second leads are almost treated at par (in terms of screen time and space) as the two leads. The SML even had a back story that made the union of the SML and SFL even more heartfelt. The bond among all the 5 characters--the ML, FL, SML,SFL and the Manager is beautiful and feels real and organic.

Overall, to me this was a good show, an enjoyable one--of course with some tropes and cliches and a 1D villain--despite the main plot being paper thin. After the 3rd episode especially there was not a dull moment in the show. All actors acted their parts well and this show has good rewatch value.

So refreshing!!

Okay, that was really good.

I started the series because I wanted to watch something that was light and with a predictable story.

The first episode didn't work for me, I couldn't engage, however, I didn't want to drop it still, and a few episodes in - the magic happened, I couldn't stop.

The story was so fun, they had endless moments that made me laugh a lot. The actors had the perfect chemistry, and the side characters were one of the cutest I've ever seen(so happy we got to know them throughout the unfolding of the story). The major moments were well presented and were with really nice pacing. There were moments where the main story was kind of laid back in order to insert some other moments/ideas, but overall it was one of the funniest and cutest dramas I've watched so far for 2023.

I would recommend it to everyone I know. I genuinely watched it with pure excitement.

Although the acting was not the best (from what I've watched until now), they made it feel like you (the viewer) are one of them, one of their group and one of their friends. It felt real, even though the acting was not top-tier.

I definitely fell for each one of the characters and will keep an eye on their upcoming projects.

cute

I needed some fluff piece and this was it. i laughed a lot. some episodes I ffw to be honest because the entire evil plot dragged a bit. my favorites have been the manager and Pan Dou. He was funny and capable. Pan Dou was the cutest, most loyal and annoying friend one hopes to have. the only time I had a problem with her was as she triggered her idols trauma. wth was she thinking?! but other than that, everyone should be so lucky to have a friend like her. overall it was a funny fluff piece that is very enjoyable to watch. i will definitely rewatch it.
the evil plot actor was a bad actor in the plot as he is in real life. it was hadd to watch him.
ml was just a cute little weirdo and the fl was perfect. the chemistry between the friend group was amazing. it worked!

After a few month I really enjoyed a drama . Hoping to get season 2.

Lately no drama was being able to fulfil my taste. I don't like to watch same kind of drama again . This drama story was great. The actor and actress was great. A great combination. Cute and funny

I thought this would be the same old, same old cold ML who meets a nice FL and slowly starts to soften towards her. I'm pleasantly surprised.

Although I've only watched the first 7 episodes I'm really loving this drama. Its OTT but in a fun and funny way. The ML seems cold and indifferent initially but his true colours start showing very early. The ML is emotionally immature and self-important, but he is also sensitive, caring and actually is just trying to protect his fragile heart.

At this point the ML is totally stealing the show and the FL is (IMO) an important, but side, character.

Don't hesitate to watch just because you think you know what you're getting into - it's really much better than expected. I literally laughed out loud a few times because of the ML's reactions. To me a lot of C-dramas are really shallow and plastic, but this one has a tiny bit more realism and isn't off putting with how unreal everything looks and feels.

If this drama goes down the drain in further episodes I'll update, but at this time I'm enjoying this fun and fluffy story.

Watch it while multitasking

Too much fluff!
The ML was decent and his chemistry with Pan Duo was much better than with the FL.
The FL had no expressions for most part and her character had one big whoop when she hit the other ML's nemesis with dictionary. After that it was a whole lot of nothing. It started out well and then fell flat. I dropped it after I realized that I kept forwarding it in the hope that something will happen. The FL is a damsel in constant state of distress with someone coming to rescue her every time. I wish there was some character growth to make this drama palatable.

You can watch this if you're multi tasking and need something going on in the background. If you are looking for something engaging then, it is not meant for you.

Très poétique mais inabouti

Très poétique.
Film agréable à regarder, enlevé, amusant, pas trop stressant. Le début est presque déroutant avec ses personnages présentés presque façon manga. Mais au bout de quelques épisodes on découvre la personnalité riche, profonde, bien construite et adulte.
Puis forcément, à la fin, les opposants au héros méditent toutes sortes d’attaques lâches, frappant dans le dos. Vers la fin, tout s’arrange, on se dit que on s’achemine vers une fin heureuse grâce à l’amitié et l’entraide des protagonistes.
Puis tout à coup on ne comprend plus. Tout déraille. En deux ou trois épisodes les antagonistes qui avaient tout perdu piègent tout le monde, en cinq minutes on nous présente les protagonistes jouant aux enquêteurs chevronnés type James Bond, puis tout à coup ils viennent dénoncer toutes les manigances des méchants avec des preuves sortis d’on ne sait où, le méchant de l’histoire matraque la tête de l’héroïne, puis un an après on la voit donnant des cours gratuit on ne sait où, la musique principale du film sert de base aux souvenirs du héros qui vient chercher sa belle…et ça fini comme ça.
Le dernier épisode est légèrement plus long que les autres épisodes et on a l’impression qu’il y avait peut être un dernier épisode qui a été copié collé…on se demande si c’est parce que le metteur en scène a changé, si la l’enquête d’espionne a déplu et qu’ils ont écourté la série…dommage.
Mais on passe un bon moment et le jeu des acteur et top. La musique est belle aussi.
