Amazing and light fantasy romcom
Not planning to leave a long review but just to let anyone doubting whether to start it or not, you totally should. This is one of the best romcoms, the leads have great chemistry, the characters are mature, the FL is one of the best FLs ever: she's a strong woman with a great personality, decided, independent, stands for herself, outgoing, true to herself... And she doesn't have the typical "femme fatale" image that kdramas associate this type of woman with, which makes her even more outstanding. All the side characters and stories are very interesting and nice to see, the second romance is super cute and lovable. The drama stays strong till the end, I was personally never bored with it, not even after the MLs get together, which is when dramas usually start dragging the plot. MRIAG managed to stay funny, fun, exciting till the end. Even though it's a fantasy drama and the fantasy is a main part of the show, it's easy to forget it's actually a fantasy drama because of how realistic and relatable all the characters are. The last ep had like 20 minutes of drama but it's not a big deal. I usually like light dramas without villains or unnecessary dark plots and MRIAG is exactly that. If you are looking to watch a light romcom with great romance, characters and plot, this is definitely for you.Was this review helpful to you?

A very cute and sweet story with one of the best and healthiest relationships I have seen
I have never watched a love story like this one before. Most or all of the ones I have watched before had made me really frustrated and sad most of the times so this was really refreshing to watch. I don't even think I cried, not because it was not deep enough to make me feel pain or because the acting was bad but I knew whatever the problems were it'd be solved soon. I had a lot of trust in the main couple's relationship. Even though they did sometimes keep things from each other most of the times they communicated really well that I knew I don't have to worry about them having too many misunderstandings... also they had really good friends to put sense into them when they did make mistakes. The story was deep, but not too complicated. Even if there were problems it gets solved in an episode or two so it never felt like the story was dragging on. The pace was just perfect and I'm glad it ended the way it did, even though I'd have loved to watch more of Dam and human Wooyeo being cute together. It was not just the main couple that I loved, all the characters were really good! I really loved Hyesun and Jaejin's relationship. They were the best and both of them were too cute! Hyesun and Wooyeo's friendship was another thing I loved. I loved watching them fight... they were really like kids when they did😂 Sookyung was so funny as well and I loved how both her and Jaejin really cared about Dam. I really loved their friendship! Now to talk about the acting, all the actors did a wonderful job and I especially loved Kang Hanna. She was so cute and I have only watched dramas of her where she's a really cold or bad person so it was nice seeing her being all cute and funny. This role really suits her and I hope I'll get to see her playing more characters like this in the future. And Jang Kiyong... I don't know why but he really feels like a different person with different hairstyles. But I'll focus on his acting now, and he is really good! I feel like he can do any kind of roles! He did a great job being both serious and cute. And his smile is the prettiest I feel like I could look at him all day long! Sometimes when he smiles I also felt like he could play the role of a psychopath as well😅 This is the first drama of Lee Hyeri I watched and I'm really impressed with her acting! She did especially well during the emotional scenes and she's really funny as well! Kiyong and Hyeri's chemistry was too good! I definitely want to see them in more dramas together... hopefully romcom. They were too funny together so I'd like to see that than anything too emotional. Kim Dowan was really cute and this is, I think, the third drama of him I'm watching and his acting was good as usual. All the other actors were good as well and I don't think there's anyone I didn't like... except Sunwoo but that was not because of Bae Inhyuk's acting, which was really good and he was really cute as well, but I just hate people like that. And I have to mention this one... Kim Doyeon, I really loved her! She was so cool and funny and I really want to see more of her.
The OSTs were really good and it all fitted perfectly with the scenes. And I especially liked Door(Your Moon) by Jeong Sewoon. I have been listening to it a lot and it's really beautiful!
Overall I loved this drama and I'd actually love to see some special episodes as well. And I'd love to see the cast reuniting for another drama as well! I'm really going to miss this drama which made my Wednesdays and Thursdays brighter... and I know I will be re-watching this soon.

My roommate is a gumiho
Spoilers - I am not sure if there will be, maybe some little ones, but still I put a warning. It is one of the dramas which are a proof that something can be really good but it needs a right time to watch.
When it came out I thought that it was too childish/stupid? (from tiktok videos) and at the same time Doom at your service was released (which I love!) and for what I should have watch two shows with the same vibe? And do not get me wrong they are pretty similar. There are many similar thropes - white truck, forgetting, breaking up, non human-human love. But Days is more mature, dark and sad while this one (sorry, mrig does not look good as a short title version) is more comedy, light and goofy. Both have sad and happy/comedy moments but Doom is like a night while Gumiho like a day. Maybe you will understand what I mean.
Also I was not really a fun of Lee Hyeri (until I watched her in Friendly rivarly). Actually the same thing with Jang Ki Yong (until The atypical family). And as far as I love actors more in these mentioned dramas, they did here really great. Acting was good and chemistry was nice - and I really like them as a couple. In LHR' case she could easily end up with Bae In Hyuk and in my opinion it still would be good. One more thing with tiktok and this drama - people potrayed BIH's characters as total as*hole - do not get me wrong, going out because of the bet is bad but he pretty soon called it off and felt really bad about it, so I think people should let him leave, in the end he was not a bad guy. While in JKY's case I felt like we moved on too soon from the fact that he actually "cheated".
Second couple was really cute, I loved them. I also liked idea of Choi Woo Sung and Kim Do Yeon being as a couple (siblings of LHR and BIH)
Perfect cameos: Jung So Min ( was giving a little Aerith's vibe from Final Fantasy VII), Kang Mi Na and Oh Jungg Se.
Hmm what to say more - girls had many beautiful outfits, love that LHR was wearing skinny jeans (it looks good! not everything needs to be buggy).
One more thing - Lee Hyeri looked like Chaewom from Le sserafim in this hairstyle (and when she had ponytail a little as Yuqi from I-dle) and I could not unseen it.
Okay to sum up: really nice drama, funny (in a little silly way), cute, a little sad, perfect acting. If you like non-human and human romance then it is a must have (and if you love Doom at service as much as me you need to give it a chance, really "siblings" dramas).

contemporary
A very easy-going fast-paced extremely cute light fantasy rom-com.Nothing original but very cute and emotionally moving. It showed college life, friendships, immature bullies, family antics,
loneliness, love, insecurities, a sweet protective ML and a VERY headstrong and determined FL.
I liked how the gumiho and Dam had a very honest and cute relationship. They both cared deeply about each other (I awwed every time they smiled/grinned at each other!!) and never gave up on each other.
I liked how it also focused on their lives apart and the other characters. It wasn't anything new (Tale of the nine tailed and Goblin) but it had its own vibe and that's why it can't really be compared to the other two. TotNT and Goblin had a more serious vibe with a fair share of action while this series focused way more on the mc relationship and how funny and cunning Lee Dam is, hence giving it a very contemporary slice of life vibe, but it didn't lack the fantasy aspects.
They had to overcome many problems but him being a supernatural wasn't given the same importance/role as the mc in tale of the nine-tailed. His life is ordinary and he doesn't really have a separate fantasy life. his powers were used for entertainment purposes and him being a gumiho showed how different he is and served as a main obstacle for the couple. But it was never too weird to imagine him being a human, something which was harder to imagine with Goblin and Lee Yeon because they had a whole separate supernatural life that separated them from the human world and being human.
It was great to see how the gumiho changed over time and became a really warm person when in the beginning he had 1 facial expression the whole time. I liked his non-toxic jealousy and protectiveness and I loved the side characters and their little stories.
The ending was great. I liked the pickup lines scene (gumiho and Lee Dam) and how they had a real red thread between them, making it obv that they r soulmates.
I also liked how the girl BFF is soulmates with the class president (been shipping them since the start) and how they showed that by tying a string (wool sweatshirt) to her ring (ADORABLE)
the second lead couple was such a delight to see bc of the cuteness overload and all the misunderstandings between them!!
I give it an 8 bc : while it's very cute and funny and has its fair share of interesting characters, it was nothing new and everything was about the couple and the romance (not much plot).
From the start there was one problem and that 1 problem was solved in the end, but it didn't involve many others or anything IYKWIM. So it was simple, extremely cute but no real suspense/action/heavy plot. But they also never promised more so its just high expectation after the two other similar dramas ;)

EXCELLENT DRAMA
Where do I start.....This drama was amazing, something I like very much was the female lead facial expressions, they got me laugh throughout the episodes.
It has been long since I watched gumiho themed dramas, but I think I'm going to start watching them again.
I really liked the second lead couple they were so cute.
This drama made me feel lots of emotions, I have cryied and laughed with this kdrama.
I would love if this drama had a special.
I really enjoyed this kdrama, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

There was laughter, sadness, horror and a lot of feel-good vibes!
I don't remember the last time I laughed out loud so much in the middle of the night! A hilarious take on the tired gumiho/supernatural genre, but so so good. One of the best things about the drama was the strong-willed FL, which was refreshing to see. She never changed character or personality throughout the show and I was so glad there was no character improvement arc for her, because she was perfect! The leads had awesome chemistry together too.
But my absolute favourite character was Kang Han-na's. She simply stole the show! Her character as someone who lives life fully suited her so well.
I don't have any complaints - the pace was perfect, there were elements of horror, fantasy, history, comedy etc thrown in without too much unnecessary focus on any, all characters were fleshed out well and everything tied up nicely at the end. A must watch for romcom lovers!

✒Outfoxed ❣ A Better Marble Trap °7.8° °Excellent°
He /planted/ something in her!Yeo and Dam don't actually meet as much as collide, which caused the marble he's been cultivating for over 900 years to jump into her body from his. Whoops. Yeo needs to find a way to get it back from her. If it stays in Dam too long it will kill her. Besides, he's been feeding it energy for nearly a millennium. When he's done, he will no longer be a 🦊Gumiho, he will be human. He was nearly done - and he ain't starting over now! So they become roommates. That way, he can keep an eye on her condition until he figures out a way to retrieve his precious property. She declined, initially, until she realized she will feel deathly ill if he's not around to provide assistance.
What's a Gumiho?
It began in old Joseon.
Rumor has it, it's a 🦊-demon that disguises itself as a beautiful human woman in order to devour the liver of its victim. Maybe that isn't /completely/ true. Maybe the Gumiho is only trying to cultivate itself into a human, and eating livers, though quicker, is not required. It takes a thousand years the slow way, which is stealing human energy in dribs and drabs by way of physical contact. All animals, including Gumihos, want to be human, as only humans can decide their own destiny.
Living together is no small thing. Yeo lays down some rules: No 🐔. Chicken blood will weaken both of them. No men, especially men born in the Year of the 🐅, which is every male in Dam's year at school. No alcohol. What!?! He's gone too far❗ No booze. No chicken. No men… What is there for her to live for? She hits him back with some rules of her own, like stop 🚬. So what if it's a 400 year-old habit? He might like smoking, but 🍗 is /her/ favorite thing. Company, misery doeth love.
The first third of the show is them getting used to e/o and us getting a peek at them and their daily lives. Yeo is in danger. If he doesn't become human by the 1000 year point he'll turn into an evil spirit and be targeted for elimination. Dam has a similar deadline. If they don't extract the marble from her inside of a year, she'll die. In ep7 we are introduced to a baddie who covets the marble which puts Dam in more danger. This incident directly leads to a plot shift - a reset, if you will.
The next phase of the show is them trying to make their relationship work. A Gumiho isn't supposed to be in a relationship with a human, so they have more to work out than the average couple. Like good 🦊🦊, they dig through it all. There are some physical incompatibility issues, the main one being that his desires get confused. He loves her. He wants to kiss and hold her, but he also has a primal desire to drain her energy. It sounds alot like Edward and Bella from Twilight along with any number of similar vampire love stories. In a moment of passion it could be rather dangerous. It's sufficiently dangerous that an ancient deity throws a wrench into the works, which only feeds into the relationship issues they must work out. It advances the plot well.
MRiaG is a 2021 release that is rated 91 on AWiki. It is 1 season consisting of 16 65-minute delightful episodes. It's an excellent romcom - no more, no less, and that is good enough. My only complaint is that some of the drama was poorly manufactured since he can teleport. Any emergency can be instantly addressed so their consternation sometimes seems misplaced. Jang Ki Yong (Sweet & Sour-7, My Mister-9.5, The Atypical Family) plays ML Shin Woo “Yeo”. If you haven't seen him before, you would probably be surprised to hear that he can play a first-rate thug. It's nice to see him play a sweetheart here. He's not just a sweetheart. He's got to walk a fine line between stoicism and experiencing brand new emotions. “When you live for such a long time, everything feels like a season that will eventually pass. Everything feels meaningless. But you seem true to yourself every moment. I like your honesty.” So says Yeo to Lee Dam (Lee Hye Ri of May I Help You). Ms Lee is the central character of Reply 1988-8.6, a comfy show about friends, family, and neighbors. She has a genuine infectious exuberance that she brings to everything. Previously dubbed “The Nations Little Sister” after appearing on the show Real Men, SHE is the reason this show is as fun to watch as it is.
The secondary romances are also nice. Kang Han Na (Familiar Wife-8.5, Just Between Lovers, Start-up-8) is Yeo ‘s longtime (we're talking 700 years) friend, Yang Hye Sun. She was a Gumiho, but she recently became human. She has more to do in this series than most shows where she often plays an ice queen/human figurine. I like her in this. Kim Do Wan (Moment at Eighteen, Doona!) and Park Kyung Hye (Goblin, Destined with You, My Lovely Liar) are Dam's BFFs, Choi Soo Kyung and Do Jae Jin. Bae In Hyuk (Under the Queen's Umbrella, Why Her?-8, At a Distance, Spring Is Green) is Gye Sun Woo, a popular guy at school who first comes onto Dam as a farce but ends up developing a thing for her. As cute as this actor is, with double-deep-double-dimples, he plays second fiddle both times I'veseenhim. Go Kyung Pyo (Chicago Typewriter, Private Lives-8.1) makes a surprise appearance mid-show. It's fun to see him across from Lee Hye Ri in an echo back to Reply 1988. They can't hide the warmth they have for e/o in their scenes. The screenwriters are Baek Sun Woo (What's Wrong with Secretary Kim-6.8, Doctor Slump) & Choi Bo Rim (Touch Your Heart-8.2). Director Nam Sung Woo also brought us the very popular Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok Joo, Because This Is My First Life-7.7, and 100 Days My Prince-5.5.
This is an endearing couple. “This is our first date. You think I came unprepared? I've been keeping myself updated with the latest culture via news and books. And I've been watching romantic comedy dramas, so I'm very well aware of the latest dating trends. Plus, I can use magic. You won't be disappointed.” So says the 999 year old 🦊. What he thinks is current intel on dates is actually 20 years old. (For him, that IS current;). “I'm in love. I can't describe this feeling. It's soft and hot. I can't either swallow it or spit it out.” Dam is quite elegant in delivering these lines. “This doesn't mean anything. It's another meaningless relationship that will end soon.” That's what Yeo tells himself, until he can no longer deny it. They are mellow and comfy. Her joy is contagious, he caught it, and the viewer catches it. They spent some time apart, but it didn't take.
“According to Mingxin Baojian, one's mouth and tongue are the door to anger and worries, and they are the axes that kill one's body,” we hear. Amen - preach it! While I've relegated this to simple romcom status, MRiaG is not low IQ. The writers show their depth-of-field in several places. The most popular boy at school supposedly is interested in Dam. Not believing that she can truly be attractive to him, Dam is skeptical of his motives. Yeo (already outfoxed by her himself) quotes poignantly from an old story: “To him, she seemed so beautiful, so seductive, so different from ordinary people, that he could not understand why no one was as disturbed as he by the clicking of her heels on the paving stones, why no one else's heart was wild with the breeze stirred by the sighs of her veils, why everyone did not go mad with the movements of her braid, the flight of her hands, the gold of her laughter. He could not understand why anyone wouldn't fall in love with her.” (Excuse me while I fan myself). ‘If you live long enough, you begin to become indifferent to everything,’ Yeo realizes. “Feigning love is not love. The more it's done, the emptier one feels.” Yeo had been posing and faking and acting for a millenia. Dam came to his house knowing his secret. He could be real in her presence. He became comfortable with her. That will make an average looking person a “10” to the beholder.
“According to Sajasohak, one must be clean-cut and well-dressed. It means you should be neat and dressed nicely.” Dam is alittle casual about cleanliness. Instead of berating her, Yeo appeals to her best nature. The entire show appeals to our best natures. Not much happens, yet every episode is a treat. It simply works. They also tie up the last episode very nicely. Not all shows do, so it's appreciated. Any romcom fan will find MRiaG to be their natural habitat.

Good but not perfect.
The first half I totally understood the hype. It was a refreshing story with a very refreshing FL, one who isn't afraid to enjoy eating and doesn't do it in a dainty, feminine way and one who doesn't bother with short skirts, high heels and perfect makeup. In short, she is everything that I've been dying to see in a Kdrama FL.Watching the two leads get to know, respect and then love each other was a delight and they both felt very rounded to me. But then the last third of the drama came, with its inevitable dragging and unnecessary drama...
And why did they suddenly move the focus from the two main couples to new couples that you didn't really know as a viewer and didn't particularly care about???
The producers realised that it should have had only 14 episodes instead of 16 and they still didn't change it. That for me is drama negligence.
I still loved it overall, but it could have been a masterpiece and in the end it wasn't.

NO SPOILERS REVIEW | So nice to watch casually, not absurdly fantastical.
This is my opinion and it's absolutely okay if we don't agree. This is not a personal attack to anyone's preferences.
I recommend this drama for people that are looking for something to watch casually and appreciate a little fantasy in their story. The romance is very sweet, not super cliche.
I'm not a fan of fantasy dramas, but I decided to give this one a try and I was very pleasantly surprised.
It didn't make me obsessed, like some dramas make - so much so that I don't sleep (which doesn't mean they're great, just that they have ending with good hooks) - and I really liked that aspect of it.
The fact that I wasn't anxious to watch it all at once is really nice, I was able to enjoy the story thoroughly.
I was in love with ALL OF THE CHARACTERS. Every last one of them were really lovely, interesting, well constructed with great acting.
There's some plot holes, not huge ones and the ending did not feel rushed as it usually feels with kdramas (where they try to give a happy ending very quickly in the last minute).
The ending felt like a natural progression of the story, as expected, making this drama a very pleasant experience.

Charming Fantasy Romcom Alert
This drama is a delightfully enchanting fantasy romcom, full of likable characters and laugh-out-loud moments. You'll definitely develop a girl crush on both Lee Hyeri and her character, Lee Dam. Hyeri really shines with her well-written role, and what's great about her is how authentic she is. She plays her part with natural ease and isn't afraid to dive into the silly, embarrassing moments that others might shy away from. Her girl-next-door charm makes her totally believable as a college student, and it's easy to see why the male leads are so taken with her.Jang Ki Yong nails it as the 999-year-old nine-tailed fox, Shin Woo Yeo. His cold demeanor perfectly shows the weariness of someone who's been around for centuries. His chemistry with Hyeri is electric, capturing the classic "opposites attract" vibe.
The second couple, played by Kang Han Na and Kim Do Wan, is just as fun to watch. Kang Han Na is especially impressive as an air-headed former nine-tailed fox with a heart of gold. Her comedic antics and sibling-like rivalry with Jang Ki Yong's character add an extra layer of fun to the show.
Like many fantasy romcoms, the "forced separation" part got a bit dull, but it didn't drag on too long. All in all, this drama is a must-watch if you're looking for a mix of humor, charm, and enchanting fantasy. It hits all the right notes, making it a delightful addition to the genre.

Classic Tale with a Twist
I have seen several Kdramas based on folklore (stories about Gumiho), by far I enjoyed this comparatively. I like how the author explicitly showed the essence of the story. It was done very smoothly without disrupting the flow of the plot. The episodes were aptly planned. Although it seemed monotonous halfway through, where the scenes were mostly of Jang Ki-Yong's struggle to be human, the essence of the struggle served as a cohesive piece -- like an aha moment. Unlike other story of the same theme, this Kdrama revealed it all at once. It was a good element in the plot -- added fun, romance, magic, etc.I have seen most of Jang Ki-Yong's dramas and movies and his acting in this Kdrama is impeccable. I didn't see him for his previous character or roles. But he got me focused on this character. He was able to portray the mature, witty, withdrawn, mystical role. As his character evolved in succeeding episodes, he never fails to show a spontaneous and natural acting especially when sweeping a girl off her feet. He makes audience put themselves in that scene. The chemistry between Jang Ki-Yong and Lee Hye ri is notable. They complement on how they look in screen and acting.
Episode 15 was very moving for me. The scene, lines and acting evoked the right emotions. It was so real that I could really feel the pain of the characters. It seemed predictable that he will be a human but when he disappeared, my thoughts aligned with the story too. Even though there's a part that expects a certain ending, the storyline was able to captivate my attention in the moment. So when he came back as a human, it truly was a surprise too!
Other elements that gave color, appeal and flavor to the drama were the theme on friendship, love, relationships, humanity, and misconceptions. The secondary characters were played well too. The actors gave justice to their roles. I enjoyed the comic relief in between.

Perfect for your romcom sweet tooth, featuring eye candy!
When I first saw this drama I thought it would be a reversed version of "My Girlfriend is a Gumiho", which is one of my favorite old-school Kdramas. Although the plot of "My Roommate Is a Gumiho" is definitely different the main elements are similar. Like the former, this is also a fun Interspecies romcom about an extremely attractive Gumiho whose fox bead ends up inside of an unsuspecting college student who must move in with the Gumiho for the sake of the bead. The Gumiho lore in this drama is pretty interesting, but what I liked about this drama is that it never tried to be much more than a light and often silly romance... no major melodrama, no taking itself too seriously. Sure, it is definitely full of tropes, but I was entertained. Yes, the sweetness sometimes goes to type 2 Diabetes levels, and the storyline isn't always the most logical or original, but great characters kept me excited about watching each episode.I'll start with Jang Ki Yong who is perfect as the male lead Gumiho Shin Woo Yeo. Even when I don't necessarily like the drama he is in, I am usually impressed with his performance, but I feel like he comes into his own as a leading man in this drama. He can easily play mature so he is totally believable as someone centuries old. He is funny, charming, major eye candy, and has a mysterious sexiness that makes a very convincing Gumiho. I loved his cool, composed, soft-spoken, and unbothered style, with just a hint of danger to it, and would love to see him play a true villain one day. He is matched with Lee Hye Ri as Lee Dam who is the exact opposite. She is bubbly, immature, messy, drinks too much, eats EVERYTHING, shows ALL of her feelings on her face, and unapologetically says exactly what she feels. This character could have easily been annoying but her honesty made her relatable and funny and I also really liked that she was proactive instead of passive and didn't just wait to be saved or have everything solved for her. Together these two have great chemistry, although romantically they are more cute than sexy. I loved watching him subtly flirt with her, although I wished she would react less wide-eyed and innocent sometimes. I even appreciated that they could pull off the big age gap in the story while actually being close in age so it never felt too inappropriate. Still, if the story was just about them I could see it getting redundant after a while so the supporting characters were a huge part of what kept me watching.
Most of the supporting characters are great. Not only did they make me laugh, but I cared about many of them as much as the leads. I loved the Hermione-esque Soo Kyung and the adorably sensitive Jae Jin as Lee Dam's BFFs. They are definitely friendship goals and I was glad to see that supportive friend dynamic including a guy. I also couldn't resist developing a drama crush on Jae Jin and I was glad he turned into more of a lead character. Then there’s Kang Han Na who was such a great frenemy as Yang Hye Sun. I really expected to not like her character that much, but she became one of my favorite characters in the whole drama. Lee Dam's brother Lee Dan was very funny too, and they hilariously seemed like real siblings, although he does have less screen time than the others he stood out too.
There is only one character that I did not like at all and that’s Bae In Hyuk as Sun Woo. To be such a major character in a comedy I found him to be extremely boring and uninteresting. It didn’t help that they kept presenting him as a super attractive playboy, which was not convincing. To be fair, it’s hard to be compared to Jang Ki Yong’s level of eye candy, but I would have appreciated a personality that matched the rest of the cast or at least had way less screen time. The love triangle is a major part of the story, and I did like that concept behind it, but he gave me less 2nd lead who you can sympathize with feels and gave more entitled stalker you may need a restraining order for vibes. Other characters that could have had less screen time were some of the bigger cameos. Jung So Min’s and Go Kyung Pyo’s characters both felt like their guest roles were much smaller than their talent, and their scenes added more confusion than mystery to the story, seemingly to fill in time. The whole mystery/thriller element of this story felt like a waste of time so it's definitely skippable.
Would I watch this again? Probably. There are enough cute and humorous moments that would be entertaining to watch again, and I liked the drama’s theme of figuring out what makes us human and what makes life worth living. I think I may still be tempted to skip a lot of scenes, but I'd be just as tempted to rewind a few others. I would definitely have to be in the mood to binge watch wrist grabs, falling into people’s arms, strategic glamour lighting, stalking, stares, and so many other kdrama romance clichés… but sometimes that’s exactly what I am in the mood for.
Overall this is the kind of drama you enjoy for what it is. I didn’t shed any tears. There were no mind blowing plot twists. The story is pretty standard, a little predictable, and isn’t too deep, but it does explore empathy in a way that made me think without feeling preached to. The ending is ridiculous but satisfying. If you know nothing about the webtoon it’s based on, like me, I would think of it as a classic style kdrama that is "basic" but in the best way possible… plus eye candy! Delicious eye candy! I don’t think I can mention enough how "risk it all" attractive Ki Yong is in this. That still wasn’t enough to make this drama a new favorite of mine, but I do recommend it to all who have a romcom sweet tooth.
